Being a native Chinese, i am amazed at how you are open to try all the local flavors and treat each food with full respect. Thank you Mark for being such a great adventurer and take us to see the world. You have lived your life well!
Best Channel on RUclips. Mark, I spend a lot of quality time with my grandma and aunt watching your food adventures. Thank you for all of the lovely content over the years! I have learned so much and have always loved your kindness. Cheers from New Jersey!
I lived for a few months in Shenzhen in 2005 and I can still remember how delicious all of the food there was. Love Chinese food with Sichuan pepper and chilli oil. And the street food/restaurant food is quite affordable too.
Finally coming to my hometown great! I have been following you for 5 years and have been hoping that you can come to Xi'an to enjoy our delicious food. I am very happy to see you here!
I love that he goes from beginning to end, watching how everything is made right through to eating it, without passing any judgement, only commenting on how delicious, or on a rare occasion, less-delicious, something is 🥰
I am from Hong Kong and first visited X'ian in 1984, yep, 40 years ago. This is the city with Muslim concentration and starting point of the Silk Road, so heavily influenced by Central Asia culture. The way you are adding chilli sauce is unbelievable. The second stall serving pita bread is Halal certified.
@@zachfern3190 whats wrong with him stating the facts? We do have a big Hui Muslim population in Xian, Hui and Han people has lived together in peacefully for a long time. As long as everybody respects each other, I don’t see any issue.
Xi'an, as the ancient capital of China, is the origin of many Chinese cuisines. You can find roots of many Chinese dishes you ate or are familiar with.
For Muslims, China is actually a very easy place to visit in terms of food. Halal restaurants are very common and clearly marked so you won’t be concerned about what you’re eating.
Hi Mark I hope you’re well. Those steamed dumplings looked so good and ☺️ the other dishes looked really tasty as well. Thanks for staring your experiences with us
In the western world, why don't they have "Chinese breakfast" restaurants??? People here just always assume that Chinese food isn't for breakfast 😂....
I don’t know what you are talking about. Here in Toronto Canada there are tons of these breakfast places. Also Chicago, New York LA. You just don’t know where to go.
This video brings good memories Mark thank you! A few years ago I was able to enjoy a variety of Xi'an food from a fellow vendor Xi'an Taste here in Honolulu!
Just like the last video, everything looked amazing. Once again, those noodles looked incredible. I'm glad you mentioned hot and sour soup during the first meal, that's exactly what I was thinking when I saw it, haha. Thanks Mark!
Very happy to see you come to my country. There are a lot of completely different cuisines in China from one province to the others. Wish you have a nice food trip in China.
Why are his eyes so sparkly? It is very pretty and not a bad thing at all, but it has this teary-eyed wet look to them. Came here for the food tour but it was really noticeable.
From the get go. Your hair is growing wild XD What is your experience in China regarding food safety? Certain regions are known to be pretty terrible. Reusing hot pot oil (i.e. spit oil), or fishing out fat from sewers without proper treatment and using it.
We dined at the biang biang noodle place you visited in the video. We loved it so much that we went back to it twice in 2 days. Xi’an knows how to make delicious noodles for sure!
Hi Mark I do enjoy your videos❤, how come you never have anything negative about the food you eat while travelling. I do understand it’s promotional. Well inside your ❤there could be some food or something in the food you dislike❤❤❤
Suan La Tung (Hot and sour soup ) is actually an adaptation or a variant of Hoo La Tung (spicy pepper soup), developed from the Northern Chinese dish after it reached the Southern regions.
how are you eating so much and staying in good shape?!! I need that secrete 😂 North West food is really my favorite, in ShanXi Datong the food is AMAZING as well. And a lot less well known. Just getting a bit popular amongst Chinese tourist now, but completely out of the radar for foreigners. The pallet is similar to XiAn, but with its own twist. Just delicious, if you get a chance you should go try.
lol the shirtless baker’s burger shop is my favorite!!! You get a serious burger with enormous fillings and toppings and sauce for less than a fcking dollar!!! It’s the best Cai Jia Mo in town!!!! A must try!!!
I love your phrase "goofy liquid". Notice how cheap food is compared to the USA, Mark paid .86 Cents for a whole meal like a Chinese Brurrito/Pita and here it would begin at $5.00+ toppings...... I love the belt noodle idea, will have the wife make some soon. 👍👍 Table side carving service using a regular bread & butter knife is so Chinese because they have no clue LOL

Xi'an, as the ancient capital of China, is the origin of many Chinese cuisines. You can find roots of many Chinese dishes you ate or are familiar with.
Eating raw garlics with Biang Biang noodle is a traditional Xianian performance session for non local. I am amazed you did it yourself.

Biangbiang noodles got its name from the sound it comes out when they are being made. It is originally known as belt noodles.
In the western world, why don't they have "Chinese breakfast" restaurants??? People here just always assume that Chinese food isn't for breakfast 😂....
There’s dim sum for breakfast and brunch and bakeries too
A typical Chinese breakfast is rice soup, yeo teow , and tea. Idk that would be popular here in America
@TheSmokey1523 most American don't have time to eat like this for breakfast. They open one in your neighborhood, they'll be out of business
I don’t know what you are talking about. Here in Toronto Canada there are tons of these breakfast places. Also Chicago, New York LA. You just don’t know where to go.
Yah great point, probably in some of the bigger cities like London, NYC, and LA you can find similar Chinese breakfast spots.
