I know, seeing this just reminds me how much I miss them. The other day it hit me, that for the first time in over 20 years they wont have any sort of Christmas special / event episode out to enjoy at this time of year. The Vietnam special, the utter classic in Iraq as the three not so wise men....the Rainforest, the Scandi Flick etc....I will have to rewatch one of those again...

I have all the episodes of their Top Gear and Grand Tour on my media PC. And even bought the box sets of all the specials and the challenges. I cant get through a month without watching some of their stuff and its fun watching the very early episodes and watching them slowly develop from reviewing cars, to mucking about and doing more and more crazy stuff. The episode where they cut the roof off a people carrier and turn it into a convertible, was when it first started to register with me, that I was watching something special here, and that it was so much fun and had potential to run and run, and it did. All three of them are on top form and have gelled perfectly in that episode, with May and his comments about attack monkeys are more dangerous than lions. And Hammond is trying to show Clarkson how to take the roof down and how easy it is, and the whole thing ends up looking like a shopping trolley full of scaffolding and Clarkson is on the floor in hysterics about how funny Hammond is and how bad it looks. They had done some funny stuff in the show before this, but I think this was the first one that they really started to push it and it was the start of them doing things like amphibious cars, the Robin three wheeler Space Shuttle and the stretch limos etc....They did it all, they really did.
Ive always imagined these 3 Top Gear hosts eventually transforming their show into a 3 blokes in a pub chatting about everything and anything, and I would still watch it. This comes pretty close … more please :)
My wife and I stayed here in 2022 and it was a lovely place. James was in there having Sunday lunch and the place felt warm, friendly and cozy. Can’t wait to go back there.

There’s just something about these guys that you can’t describe, just two senior men walking through a quiet pub and we all wish this video was 35 minutes long. I wouldn’t have been as interested if it were anyone else doing the exact same thing word for word, but with these guys I just find peace😌
As a kid that grew up with those 3, seeing them live out the dreams they've all talked about many times previously on the multiple shows is actually a proud feeling. They've done so much for everyone else and now there doing something for them. Genuinely love that for all of them.

Funny how for so many years they always played this "under current rivalry" between the two for various issues... socially, politically, attitude, introvert/extrovert... and yet despite it all, you actually can hear (and feel) the true love of friendship that they have formed. And despite the constant "ribbing", you can truly tell that it is all in good humor and never intended to be personal and offensive. The truest form of friendship you can have with someone.

Not sure if it's a cultural thing or not, but the last guy I saw single-pouring a Guinness was accused of sacrilege and summarily dismissed on thie spot. Mind you, it was at an Irish pub.

Every once in a while when I am feeling down, I watch the video of James and Richard playing drunk Chess and it makes life a little easier. Please keep this going.
I no longer cook professional or serve/bartend, but having your dishes throughly enjoyed, or added permanently to a menu is a total joy. Something I disliked about certain kitchens was that I couldn't see people enjoying the food!

As a Dutchman, the Royal Oak is the first British pub I’ve ever been to and the food is absolutely fantastic.
