I found myself with a problem when trying to practice with it, apparently the slider doesn't work when I try to use it, AE tells me it doesn't exist
There's a breakdown in CSMV folder, fix it or others might get a message called "Someone might have fooled you, usafe site"

I have one important question: If I wanted to do this and add the character I create to the bottom corner of all of my videos so that it can lip sync as I'm talking and playing a video game; how would I do that? Can I make him lip sync already made audio in a video? (So I record the video THEN make it lip sync what I said in the video) Or does it lip sync only if you're talking to it at the same time?? Great. But when I do it, the mouth goes through all the mouth positions from one slider key frame to the next... What am I missing?
Anyone know why I don't have the full range of mouth positions when I move the slider? I don't get a fully closed mouth and possibly another one. When I double click on positions they are all there. I dunno!

Thanks, But If you want to go from pose A to, lets say, pose D, time remapping value will go through all (A, B, C) poses to get to the D pose, which is annoying.

At 5:08 you hit the star key and you mark the first word. When I hit my star key- nothing happens =( Is there another way to mark/seperate the words?
Hey, I discovered your video right now. I am a programmer and I'm researching into making an automated plugin that can do the lip sync part. I am absolutely blown away by the details mentioned in your video. These are very very helpful. There is one problem however that I feel makes the lips look a bit janky. I am talking about the slider. Since the slider cannot skip over the blendshapes (Please don't mind the incorrect terminology) they create abrupt mouth shapes while interpolating between any 2 keyframes.
For instance, let's say that you have a word ending with a V sound and the next word starts with an A sound. According to your slider, the value will get interpolated from V to A but at the same time also visit all the other sounds which is basically the entire shape slider. I feel that is not very good looking. Try to make it say something like "Burp again" or "Clove apples".
One solution to this can be to use another slider that only has the neutral lips keyframe and nothing else. Which you can then use as a resting position after every pause and/or word completion.
If there's any other way that this can be achieved. I am all ears.
I just realized something, you probably don't even require the other slider. It can simply be a single keyframe of a closed mouth. The only thing to remember is to keep it separated from the slider so it can act as an anchor for every viseme shape that exists in the slider.

@@GiganticCommunity But those are static lips! I know maybe it isn't a very strict requirement to have morphing lips between these shapes.
It's just that after watching the slider here, it gave me an idea to have something that actually shows the mouth moving or the tongue inside touching the roof of the mouth while saying 'T' sounds or the weird way we move the lower lip to say 'F' sounds.
I want to implement exactly that.

Mark, hi! Tutorial is great, but I a have a few problems with "Lips". First of all, I don't have some lips positions, such as "M.B.P" and "F.V". I have all of them when I see your file in AE, but when I copy lips in my project it's just dissapear. When I try to find them in the slider (it's should be at the end), I only see position of open mouth. And I don't know what to do with that. My second problem is when I put key frame and choose position of the mouth and then put another key frame and then try to play it all, instead of playing only 2 positions of the mouth I see at least 5-6 positions between 2 key frames. I also don't know what to do with that. Please, help me with this problem, I'm trying to make so cool animation with Sia. I can send the file of my project to your e-mail. Thank you, you're awesome.
the values are between 1 and 200. Manually set to 214 and you can get the M B P position.
2) l think thats an issue with this technique, being a slider it slides thought all mouthes to reach the one you keyframed

What I like to do is only rig a character in character animator with a mouth... the audio file from the voice over drives the mouth. That animation I add in a rigged figure
im having a problem with the fast change of the lips. When i choose a kind of mouth, the slider move fast around others kinds and it make the animation robotic. Help Please!

I have a problem after I made the pre-comp and re-map it, the slider doesn't show the whole frames (m,b,p and f,v frames don't show up) and the slider refused to edit the value....I REALLY need a help on this please

@@GiganticCommunity I create a new remap, but instead of 200 I put 240 (I don't know why) but now it's work very well and values work right, I start animating smoothly.....thank you very much for your reply it means alot, and video was so much helpful for me.

How do you get the sliders to navigate between mouth shapes without cycling through every mouth shape in between?
The mouth in my design is going nuts trying to go from closed mouth to T shape because it has to go through all the vowels in between.

Hi Tom, couldn't you just use HOLD keyframes? :)
Philip Jensen Hey, yeah hold keyframes would work to switch from one mouth shape immediately to the next but this would lose the smooth transition between each mouth shape.
Not the solution I’m looking for. I think Joysticks n’ sliders are the only option.
