Good timing. I just watched a sushi master making a nori wrap (a bit different to usual nori maki) and was mentally veganising it. Need a good substitute for Kewpie mayonnaise.
missrossiya, I came to comment the same! This was the easiest recipe to shop for and prepare, for that very reason. I think I need to make it a couple more times, tho, to get it right.
I just made this (with a few modifications) and it was amazing! I didn't have broccoli, so I used Brussel Sprouts, instead. I also substituted almonds for the nuts. A great option when your panty isn't fully stocked! Thanks for this great recipe! ❤

Thank you for making such an easy recipe for us who need simple instructions to even get started!
Now I have all the right ingredients I made it again - it's delicious! Used noodles instead of rice and added the coconut milk to the pan at the end, marrying the flavours of chili podwer and paprika together with the coconut in a creamy mixture.

I've made coconut rice before, it's delicious. Also, adding a small piece of fresh ginger to the cooking liquid gives a it subtle flavour that is absolutely amazing.
Ah, I was thinking in the same direction too. Lemongrass, ginger then a bit of lime juice. But then the taste wouldn't be the same. Am sure his recipe in itself is splendid.
Not sure if a 1:1 ratio or f rice to coconut milk is working for me. Just mush, added more water to get closer to 2:1 ratio of liquid to rice. Also in the video, that looks like 2 cups of rice?
@@7skeptic7 I thought it was 2 cups at first and then concluded it's a 1/2 cup measure hence 2 dips = 1 cup. As for coconut rice, rice (and oats too) soaks up water better than milk (dairy or non-dairy) so playing around with the ratios of milk to water is a good idea. When I used to make coconut rice, I did use a mix of coconut milk and water. Also when I cook white rice, I use 1 cup rice and 1 3/4 cups water. I tried 1 1/2 cups water like said recipe and I got chalky underdone rice. And it was Tilda (premium brand)! Hope that helps :)

This is by far the best cooking shows on RUclips, and I have to say that these are the first shows that don't talk endlessly about anything other than cooking. He is very balanced in both speech and presentation, and to top it all off, the photography is excellent. Also nice to see him set up on a plate after wiping the inside of the plate, neatly done. I use this cooking method to help me learn and make vegetarian dishes for a 280 person canteen here in Iceland. Of course, I have a subscription to these programs at Yeung man cooking. Thanks so much for all the tutorials and ideas.
Love your cooking channel. Love the look of your dishes, and love how you’re on the point without spending half an hour talking about how you swept the floor. Most importantly, I love it because it’s vegan too.
I just made this! I'm pretty proud of myself because scrambled eggs is about as complex as my cooking skills get. Thank you for clear concise directions. I'm trying to cook without oil, so my chickpeas didn't brown up as nice as the ones in the video, but it is still delicious!!
I love how straight forward the instructions are, and this particular recipe is a must try !!!!! I can't wait to try this!!!!! Thank you for your videos
must say... the photos of your recipes are just exceptional! and then, of course, the excellent food that comes from them!! so delighted that Yeung Man Cooking appeared on my RUclips feed!!!
I made this today and it's definitely a hearty meal, but I personally would omit the hazelnuts for my own taste. I'm not a fan of hazelnuts in salty dishes, but I decided to give it a try anyway and I felt that the hazelnuts seemed to take over. If an individual particularly enjoys hazelnuts, it's great and filling meal.
Bravo! I just copy the previous comment which is so true: "Finally someone who cooks and doesn't talk thru half the video. Five stars"!!! Looking forward to the rest!!
Really good Wil, thank you for your hard work for our tastebuds!😊 For those reading comments, I didn't have hazelnuts, so used almonds. Veggies were a little dry and all my flavor was sticking to the pan; I just added a couple tblsps of water. I was needing a little kick tonight so I added about 1/4tsp of red pepper flakes and a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Also used brown basmati rice so had to add a little more milk and cook a few minutes longer. De-lish!!
I just made this for dinner and it was delish! My husband loved it. One hint though when cooking the rice with coconut milk. I think the coconut milk you used for cereal is what is meant. I used the full fat thick stuff from Native Forest and the rice couldn't absorb it. I managed to save it though and my husband couldn't tell. Great dish! He wants me to make it again. Thank you Yeung Man!
Wow I loved seeing all the beautiful hot steam as you were scooping generous scoops of fresh coconut rice from the saucepan. This recipe looks really appetising. I love rice. Carbs all the way!

Thank you for the recipe and directions, super easy to follow, you made me want to try this 😊 It was a hit for me and my little guy even though at first glance he was sure it would not be to his liking. After making this recipe, I had to go back to save it and comment. This is one of the best dishes I have ever eaten! Thank you for making this channel! To think if you had never made this video I never would have had the chance to taste such wonderful flavor! Bravo!
Hey I love your recipes and use them regularly (it gets me tons of compliments at dinners and things!) but could I make the suggestion of putting serving sizes with the ingredients. I know it’s a personal choice but the guide would help with shopping etc.
Exquisite and versatile! This has become a weekly staple at my house! Wil, you are a "Kitchen God"! Thank you for this delicious recipe! I also have had minor substitutions like asparagus and toasted almonds but as always, your recipes deliver the fantastic flavors!
Hi Wil, I finally got to making this dish today. Oh my goodness, it's absolutely delicious. I live in the Caribbean so some nuts in particular aren't always readily available to us. Hazelnuts not seen here very often. So I had to compromise and instead used quarter cup.of unsalted peanuts. I chopped them and it's worked out perfectly fine. I love your method of cooking the basmati rice also. That steaming method at the very end makes such a difference and leaves the rice almost al dente, just perfect. I cook and freeze as I'm a person living alone, so I'm sure these beautiful flavours will develop even more although I don't think they will be in the freezer for long🤣🤣🤣🤪 I need to ask a question about your chili oil recipe but will go to that page and ask. Thank you for such inspirational recipes. Like many people, I am making my diet more plant based, but admittedly still enjoy meat but my tendency is more fish and much less meat these days.💕
This recipe is SO good, thank you so much for sharing this 😍🤩. I've switched to a mostly plant based diet to lose some weight, after I developed the dreaded 'Rona' butt 🤣. The rice came out beautifully which I was surprised with as I had always used 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water method. The chick peas were amazing, (I used my own pre-soaked and cooked) and although it is a fairly dry dish which I'm fine with by the way, I drizzled on some of my own home made Coriander chutney dip after it was plated. Coriander is my most favourite herb, I sprinkle it on literally everything along with chillies. The flavour of the dip really amplified the smoked paprika, and I absolutely love all the different textures. I will be making this on a regular basis, and am now an avid follower of your channel! Thank you once again, absolutely top effort! Love from the UK 🇬🇧 💜.
I need to try this recipe, I love rice and veggies and coconut so the spices will just bring it to life with the flavors I also never have used hazelnuts but the other stuff yes, I like how you brought it all together!! Thank you much!!!😁😁
This was delicious. It came together quickly and easily. I didn’t have broccolini so I substituted chopped green beans; and I added a squeeze of lime juice at the end. This is definitely a dish I will make again and again. Thank you
@@angieblevins1478 😅🤣👍 I love how complete this meal looks. Simple one pan, hearty, hi protein. This may sound unconventional but left over pumpkin pie for the added veggie? What green would go with that?🤔😎🐕🤣
Love the simplicity of your videos; the focus is on your amazing recipes! Your presentation definitely makes me feel like I could follow this with confidence. I can’t wait to try this recipe along with many others! 🤗
This was super super tasty. The only thing that will make this better is a bit more moisture. I found it a bit dry so next time I might cook the rice so it retains more moisture. I’m not vegan so this was a great first vegan meal.
I was not crazy about the hazelnuts in this dish, although I love nuts in general. I think I would’ve preferred cashews. They gave it a slight odd flavor. I definitely want to try this again.
I just made this and it is delicious. I’m really can’t cook but this was easy, although I did burn the rice lol but I have never been able to cook rice. I will for sure make this again. I was worried it would be too sweet with the coconut but it really balances things out and gives a lovely texture x
If you are cooking your rice on the stove top, one cup of rice to two cups of water, wash the rice then add it to the water when it comes to a boil, add 1 tbsp of oil of your choice, or butter, 1/2 teasp of salt. Stir it up then cover it and lower the flame on stove to medium low heat and let it cook for 15 mins. Depends on the brand you use if may fininish in 10 mins just watch it. For a rice cooker use one cup of rice for one cup of water. 1 to 1 ratio. For me the rice cooker is the best. Hope this helps. 😊
I have never in my life burned rice and the way I do it is add two times more water than rice. Pour the rice in the pot, add water, put on a lid, turn up the heat and wait for it to boil. Once it boils set a timer for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes remove the pot to somewhere cool and let it sit for another 10 minutes with the lid on. Done. There's no trick to it. You don't need to wait to pour the rice in until it boils. It's really not hard.

Love his voice and how he’s so concise in giving the instructions.
Love your cooking channel. Love the look of your dishes, and love how you’re on the point without spending half an hour talking about how you swept the floor. Most importantly, I love it because it’s vegan too.

I made this just recently and I must say it was DELICIOUS and my husband loved it. Thank you!

This was the best chickpea recipe I’ve had in my entire life. Super delicious and easy!!!
🙏ruclips.net/video/cgHRYlfkwVo/видео.html
I have tried it, it was so incredible I thought I had reached the heavens!!! Omg. thank you so so much!!!! It was tasty and easy. Wow
😂
The presentation was clean and simple yet elegant. I can't wait to try this recipe, it looks delicious. ❤
Agree, I like the simple presentation.
I just made this! I'm pretty proud of myself because scrambled eggs is about as complex as my cooking skills get. Thank you for clear concise directions. I'm trying to cook without oil, so my chickpeas didn't brown up as nice as the ones in the video, but it is still delicious!!
Just finished making this dish for the very first time - absolutely fabulously delicious!! Thank you!!
Iam 🇱🇰 Sri Lankan .I like your channel .I can learn many things from you.Thank you Mr Will.🙏🙏🙏
I like your simple uncomplicated demos! I have not come across this combo before and will definitely try it, thank you.
I made this today and it's definitely a hearty meal, but I personally would omit the hazelnuts for my own taste. I'm not a fan of hazelnuts in salty dishes, but I decided to give it a try anyway and I felt that the hazelnuts seemed to take over. If an individual particularly enjoys hazelnuts, it's great and filling meal.
the recipe is amazing, equally so your presentation, short to the point, doable in every way! great stuff ! blessings from the middle east
Bravo! I just copy the previous comment which is so true: "Finally someone who cooks and doesn't talk thru half the video. Five stars"!!! Looking forward to the rest!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really good Wil, thank you for your hard work for our tastebuds!😊
For those reading comments, I didn't have hazelnuts, so used almonds.

Good point. So use the lite version not the full fat version.
Can you give UK alternatives please.
@@sharonstrang715
Don’t tell me you’re not using metric weights in the UK yet. At least metric would help the majority of viewers.
@Phaj I’m thinking the same as you. But maybe too much liquid would make the rice mushy?!
I always add a little water to the coconut milk.
Superb. Other than the addition of hazel nuts and broccoli, everything’s else is very Indian. Thanks a ton. Will try this
Wow I loved seeing all the beautiful hot steam as you were scooping generous scoops of fresh coconut rice from the saucepan. This recipe looks really appetising. I love rice. Carbs all the way!
This looks amazing!
I’ll just squeeze some lime on it & 😋
Your show is the party I love to attend. Awesome host, yummy vegetarian meals and soothing music. This is a party we all need to attend. Thanks Will.🤗❤

As someone with a disability learning to cook there are a few plant based chefs I follow but yours is the easiest to follow along with and I love that you interlude the full recipe in the description box. 10 out of 10 for Accessibility. 😊 thanks
Happy to be cooking together! ☺️ Keep well
How can anyone dislike this vídeo ? Love coconut recipes!! Nice vídeo :)
I substituted riced cauliflower for health reasons and it turned out very well. Thank you for your quick simple recipe!!!
this sounds amazing, actually I'd want to try it this way 🤭
Ok I LOVE this channel. And I’m not even specifically vegan! Everything looks beautiful and “doable!” Not even sure which recipe I’ll try first!

My entire family loves this recipe! We are not vegan but have been doing the Daniel fast and I was looking for some fun, new recipes to make. Everyone said I should cook my rice with the coconut milk all of the time. Thanks!
I SUGGEST YOU AT LEAST GO VEGETARIAN AND EVENTUALLY VEGAN.🌺☮️💟🌺
May the Lord bless you Jennifer, keep you, make His face to shine upon you & give you peace xx

Oh I love rice made with coconut milk!! You had me at that. And the chickpeas with the broccolini and the spices plus coconut flakes this must be really delicious.. I couldn't wait till I was done with work today to watch it!
🥳 hope you’ll love the recipe oh and happy birthday again 🎉🙌🏻
Trinity, do you use canned coconut milk for this purpose?
This looks delicious! Loved your no nonsense, masculine approach to giving instructions. 🤣

Found this channel while I'm searching for Mediterranean diet videos.. thanks for all your great and healthy recipes..since I'm from Malaysia and I can't leave the rice without put it in my everyday diet this is the best channel with lot of rice base menu.. more ideas to have my rice.. thanks May god bless you
Wow, what a delicious easy dish to make. Just finished enjoying this amazing meal 😋
Yeung Man has his own cool, masculine, neat and inviting manner of cooking! I love it! Bless you Yeung!👏🏻🎉⭐️
Made this tonight with almonds instead of hazelnuts and added a bit of veggie broth to simmer at the end to make it a little soupy, so delicious!
Yay...I was also thinking of adding almonds
I am going with almonds as well. I don’t have hazelnuts at the moment.😀
So glad you posted. I was going to ask what I could use other than hazelnuts and still have it taste well. Thanks!
I agree. I just made this and it was a bit dry, next time I will add veggie stock at the end to make it a bit saucey
Happy New Year, delicious Persian food

Your channel is helping me lose weight! I've been cooking your recipes for 2 weeks and I've lost 7.5 pounds already. Im not vegan, so I add a lean protein on the side, but making your vegetable packed recipes as my main courses, I've been able to change my eating habits considerably. I also like that I can be sure that your recipes are healthy and won't sabotage my weight loss efforts. Thank you so much for all you do. ❤
I love his cooking and he is on to the point and simple.
Used what I had... Swapped broccoli for cauliflower and cilantro for parsley. Delicious!! So easy to follow. Thank you!

Can I just say your channel and beautiful recipes makes me feel superrrrrrrrr happyyyyyyyy. You have good vibrations in your being and hands. Your channel will go BIG IN FUTURE. We all pray that !!
I admire your saying that ☺️ glad you’re here
Oh my gosh this looks so good and it was so quick and easy to make. Definitely got to give this one a try. Thanks so much my dear friend for a wonderful video.
excellent recipe, thank you. I think I ll add a bit of water at the end to the chickpeas to produce a tiny bit of juice
terrible for dinner xD not so bad for lunch
Made this tonight for family. Had to replace walnuts for hazelnuts, didn't have them on hand. Was still amazing. Family loved it!

I knew I had to try this once I watched the video, it looked so yummy. Thank you for the recipe and directions, super easy to follow, you made me want to try this 😊 It was a hit for me and my little guy even though at first glance he was sure it would not be to his liking. He turned to me after the first bite and said ‘Actually mom, I really like’ Thats a first for my 5yo. Thank you ❤🇨🇦
After making this recipe, I had to go back to save it and comment.
I know it’s a personal choice but the guide would help with shopping etc.
wooooooooow beautiful recipe
Exquisite and versatile! This has become a weekly staple at my house! Wil, you are a "Kitchen God"! Thank you for this delicious recipe! I also have had minor substitutions like asparagus and toasted almonds but as always, your recipes deliver the fantastic flavors!
☺️🙌🏻
Lovely videos of the best of vegetarian cuisine created simple for simple minded people like me
Hi Wil, I finally got to making this dish today.
I cook and freeze as I'm a person living alone, so I'm sure these beautiful flavours will develop even more although I don't think they will be in the freezer for long🤣🤣🤣🤪
I need to ask a question about your chili oil recipe but will go to that page and ask.
That sounds absolutely delicious and yes! coriander is so aromatic and flavourful 🙌🏻 Happy to hear you are cooking with confidence 🥳 Keep well
I need to try this recipe, I love rice and veggies and coconut so the spices will just bring it to life with the flavors I also never have used hazelnuts but the other stuff yes, I like how you brought it all together!! Thank you much!!!😁😁
This was delicious. It came together quickly and easily.
I didn’t have broccolini so I substituted chopped green beans; and I added a squeeze of lime juice at the end.
This is definitely a dish I will make again and again. Thank you
🥳🥳🥳
I'd probably add lime, and pinapple
Yeah, that's the way I see it too.

Looks fabulous another meal to add to my menu. Thank you Yeung your meals are always easy & inspiring 👏

i don’t know how many times i watched this video & made this rice!!!!! Thank you for simplifying it!!!!
I’ll be making that tomorrow. Looks delicious! Thank you for sharing!
I do believe you have introduced me to a new favorite dish! Merci beaucoup from the south of France.

Thank you greatly for the written instructions! It is a nice gesture that other RUclipsrs don’t provide! 👌👍❤️

Oh wow I need to try this! Looks amazing! 😍🙏🏻💫
Looks delicious and I’ll be making it soon! I really like your production skills, tone of voice, and recipes. Very engaging. Thank you.
Honey. Get a rice cooker. $20 at Target.
@@TheSilverwing999 I am going to try this. Thanks so much. I’ve used a rice cooker for years but hate using because of the coating in those pots.
