    The best thing about Graphene is that you can dry the vehicle with water. Recommended topper must be Defy since it is from the same Ethos company but would love to see it how performs with others such as Turtle Wax Ice or Hybrid solutions or P&S Bead Maker or others.
    Thanks for your review update

      Cheers Humberto! That's correct, right now Defy is the go to topper for Graphene Matrix and I've had good results with it on top of the Ceramic Wax Pro. Love how easy it is to dry this coating, most of them do a great job with the blower but this is definitely at a high level. The wash mitt feels super slick when you're washing this one as well, just glides over the sections with no grab.

The great thing about Fusso is the amount in the tin is just going to provide so many applications, it would be tough to go through that with how durable it is by itself. Just got to get through that toxic smell though!

      Amir Abdullah - Have you noticed an increase in the amount of ads on my videos? I might need to start turning off some of these because I think they’re starting to get out of hand, and yes crazy that F11 and Torque ads are being displayed often, I wish I had more control over which companies ads are allowed to be displayed.
      Definitely a lot of graphene buzz going on, we’ll see how valid the chemistry is over time but right now there just have not been coatings that I’ve used that are this balanced to work with while producing this hydrophobic performance. So even if we ignore the graphene buzz, the coating on fresh performance is quite good.
      Good to see companies chiming in on the chemistry, that’s something that we’ve needed for quite some time now to differentiate why they’re formulating the protectants and coatings with the chemistries that they’re choosing.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  3 года назад +1

      I have not run topping tests with the Graphene Matrix Coating since moving up north, but I have heard good results from other testers with both Ethos Defy and their latest Ethos Resist. Resist is graphene infused as opposed to Defy, but I have used Defy regularly on one of the cars I coated with Ceramic Matrix and I’ve been enjoying it a lot, as well as Bead Maker as a topper on some of the other sections.
      I would not recommend the Hybrid Solutions Graphene Flex Wax or the Ceramic Spray Coating as coating toppers. Flex Wax is entirely too heavy and this would mask coating performance until the coating sheds this off the top of it, it’s also incredibly prone to streaking for me. Ceramic Spray Coating is also on the heavier side so it’s going to want to fight more against the bottom coating rather than complementing it which is what a lighter topper does well.
      Resist is kind of in a unique position because it feels light and is thinner compared to Flex Wax but Resist can absolutely streak on certain paint types by itself, I will have to get Graphene Matrix on a car up here and run topping tests with Resist to see if I would prefer it over Defy. These coatings don’t need much to maintain their great performance, which is why I tend to want to gravitate more to lighter sprays like Defy or Bead Maker unless the coatings start showing more signs of weathering.

      @@WaxMode Wow! Thanks so much for the detailed insight. I really appreciate the point of having something light and safe on the all powerful graphene ceramic coating. I would love to use Ethos Resist, Defy or PS Bead Maker. However, these products are not available in my country. So, if you could suggest few more options. Mostly, other products like Tutrle Wax, Meguiar's, CarPro etc. are available here. Hoping any graphene ceramic spray coating of Resist's level launches soon.

    Do you think hydrophobics correlates with protection? Bc let’s say the hydrophobicity flattens in a year. Would that mean it’s not protected? The general term “protection” will always make me wonder how do we really know if it’s there or not.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 года назад

      You would be surprised at how well some coatings have sprung back to life after it looks like they've gone fully hydrophilic. So sometimes the coatings are just clogged up and require some decon, or just a bit of maintenance topping to be revived to a good degree.
      Ultimately, even if the hydrophobic behavior is completely diminished, the coating layer can still be protecting the paint against oxidation and fading. So some manufacturers will actually list an expected hydrophobic durability and a separate longer lifetime durability. But it is a bit of a guessing game, for me if the topper is no longer able to significantly revive the hydrophobic performance of the base layer coating, then it's time for a reapplication.

    Is it possible to apply a serious ceramic coating, like this ethos graphene, outdoors in the shade? Or is it just too risky?

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 года назад +1

      It's definitely possible, I applied this coating in the sun on the two fenders, at 116°F measured surface temperatures around 5:30PM with zero issues. Most of the coatings that I've applied to these test cars have been outside of the garage, but some coatings can be more impacted by an early rain or even the dew point overnight if it collects on the coating before it has a chance to cure for a longer amount. This coating really doesn't seem to be that sensitive but that could just be for the paint I'm using it on.
      The issue is you're working with an expensive coating that you're only going to get 1 or 2 coats out of with this small of a bottle, so you would want to maximize your prepwork and application environment to be able get the most performance possible. I really haven't had issues with a less than ideal application environment but my prepwork for the paint is extremely thorough for the tests.
