You did a great job with the towels to prevent cross contamination. So many of the other videos on YT don't take this step and when they get to the end they say "no difference." The reason is they can't control the spray to the limited area. GREAT JOB!
He's brought every one of his vehicles into the videos, they've really gone through more than most. Weird checkerboard grids on the hood and windshields, popped tires, pulling everything around the yard, sitting on jacks til failure, starting over and over with battery packs, and many more. I started using Hybrid Solutions about 2 years ago based upon your earlier review. I apply it once a year, usually in April. First thing, before you even think of applying this, clay bar your vehicle!! You'll be amazed at the difference it makes. It also lets you find any defects that need to be fixed before you apply the ceramic. The HS ceramic is extremely easy to apply, and is relatively inexpensive compared to other brands. My RAV4 is exposed to Maine weather... including months of snow, sleet, freezing rain and road salt & sand. Snow slides right off when gently pushed. In the spring, mud season arrives. A quick, gentle spray of water and most of the mud is gone. Summer is easier weather-wise, as the sun isn't as aggressive as it is in further south states, so a weekly spray down is fine. This HS ceramic has never let me down... washing my RAV4 is simple, as the pre-rinse takes care of most dirt. A good 'ceramic' wash completes the job. And a bit off-topic but the Wipe-New trim restorer is doing wonders for my faded trim...looks like new as well, two months in after first application...another of your recommendations! Thanks Todd!
@@TheLongDonthat cheap Japanese crap will outlast nearly anything on the road.... Especially American, Korean and German brands. By the way RAV4 runs around 40 grand now so perhaps your privilege is showing as well as your ignorance
Hybrid Solutions for the back to back win in my book based on $ / ease of use / effectiveness. I've been using it regularly since the initial test with great results. If it ain't broke... I do appreciate the follow-up testing. Thanks again!!
I just used this Hybrid Solution on my car today, randomly found it at a local parts store. Was so easy to apply. It started raining afterwards and the water just ran off. Then I randomly saw this video so was pleasantly surprised to see how well it was rated!

Keep up good work my friend …. To your fans you are a treasure!
As someone who used to apply ceramic coatings, if it’s not sold in a little black bottle like the Adam’s or nano coating. It’s not a real ceramic coating. Anything that’s sold in a spray bottle is just synthetic wax. Real ceramic coatings are PFOA’s suspended in an oil solution. Which would be illegal to sell in a spray bottle. as it would be a HUGE inhalation hazard. PFOA’s cause some real nasty things when you get them in your system.
the “real ceramic” coatings are impressive, often with a two to 3 year guarantee in my area, but, i have a boat thats two years old and was quoted $25,000 for an application, takes two days they said. its a 40’ invincible. I received 3 different quotes most were a few thousand more
True. A 'real coating' is just Si02 and the carrier oils needed to apply it. You can easily see them rainbow out in a few minutes. I'm glad he used one to compare with something like F11 which appears to be nothing more than water and hope. 😛
You inspire me greatly. Your tests are so enjoyable *and* useful, but it's your humanity I appreciate the most. The world needs more of you! Thanks a lot.
I've done ceramic coatings on several cars. If you're planning on going the extra mile doing all the prep work properly, I'd go with a non spray on coating, but be aware, some are not easy to level out. The Adams Advanced can be a real headache for any beginner or intermediate especially on a dark car. Thanks for the great video!
Professional detailer here. Unless the paint is extremely trashed I don’t bother with dedicated clay lubes anymore. If I’m running a decon I don’t sweat using my iron remover, tar remover or sap remover as lube for a synthetic decontamination towel. No matter how fine your clay is it always mars the paint and you may not have a job where polishing is necessary so why create more work for yourself? Also…always wear nitrile gloves when working with chemicals. Some of those chemicals aren’t neutral on the pH scale and can cause serious damage even after only a few uses.
By far the best channel for consumer comparison. Hybrid solutions for the price is unmatched by far and has been for years. Add the 303 protectant and your car will look great for years
Hands down, you're the best at comparison videos...always a treat to see what challenges you come up with for the products under scrutiny. Thanks for posting!
No need for that. Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Round-Up can't be matched. You can buy cheaper generic versions, just pay attention to % concentration and mix your own. Don't buy the pre-mixed
Great test! FWIW the Adam's you got was a complete kit. They also sell it in standalone spray form for $43 for just the coating which makes it an even more compelling buy based on this test!
I always watch your videos even when you're testing products I'd never use just to marvel at your genius coming up with different tests to properly assess the characteristics of the wide range of products you've been testing; it's really impressive to see!
Hybrid solutions is a win win. Although Adams was a beast! I've usued it based off your last video. I used to wax my car monthly to protect it from the Wisconsin winters and keep that slick shiny finish. With Hybrid solutions i do it once in the spring and once in the fall and maintain with a wash when its dirty. Prep is important especially with a white car. Strip wash, iron remover, clay bar, wash again, dry, apply liberally use a small rag as a spreader, buff with a clean towel, for streaks have a medium damp towel then buff again. Realistically you could easily get away with once a year but the hood and the roof tend to wear out faster and its noticeable after 6 months. Mine even after the Wisconsin winter and harsh salt most of the sides are almost like newly applied. Also works on windows and plastic well. Its a great product but I will admit i put the Adams effort into it because im just that way.😂
I’ve actually been waiting on this video. I bought a new Tundra (2012 but still new to me) and I want to do what I can to protect the paint. As a disabled Vet living in SSC I have to be very frugal so this info was perfect timing; I will be ordering the Hybrid Solutions. I’ve been following PF for several years and the lengths at which you go for product testing is always impressive! Thank You & keep up the good work. PS: I shared one of your videos with my brother & he is now following you as well !
I love this channel. Please never change. You are a critical part of youtube, seriously been a fan for years I know you're inundated with 1000 ideas a day. But I was thinking you could do more shorts with small things like best shoe water proofer, longest lasting (whatever), "cheap vs expensive" things that don't have many variables to test . Maybe try out making shorts that summerise the videos you already made, and see how it affects your main video views. You could always delete them haha just trying to help! Keep being you, and thank you!
For that kinda of money, you’re into the “pro-sumer” grade and there are definitely better options out there, like Gtechniq crystal serum or Gyeon Mohs. Adam’s is a good product for sure, there’s just definitely better options for that price (or even cheaper)
I've been using Hybrid Solutions ever since your last video and it's awesome! Someone quoted me thousands for a professional ceramic coating application, but thanks to your efforts testing all these, I can confidently just do it myself.
While the Hybrid Solutions is really good stuff, it's not a real ceramic coating. It doesn't add a layer of hardness and won't provide the same protection.
In the times when many YT channels made for testing are in reality just promoting some brand that paid for a good adv, you are making real tests, withiut bs, purely info, no subjective talks. Please keep it like it is! Sub&like!
Felt compelled to comment after all your hard work but the thorough meticulous methodology is ever fascinating. Bravo. I always watch at 2X speed and just as impressive is your diction which is super understandable. Double bravo.
I have read chemists say anything above 10% IPA in water is overkill and can work to soften clearcoats. IPA also has oils in it that can potentially stain. Just a heads up!
Three years ago I bought a brand new truck. I watched your first video And I used hybrid solutions to do the entire front grill hood and front bumper of that truck... well i just traded it. I almost never washed that truck either. I cleaned it up before I traded it in. Just a light pressure washing made the front end.Look brand new... Great stuff. Thank you sir! I will be attacking more of the truck with the hybrid solutions this time.
I have been using hybrid solutions ever since I found your first video about 2-1/2 years ago. It's affordable, super easy to apply, and it smells great. It lasts a year of our garaged and non-daily retired folk's vehicles. My Gladiator often requires no more than a rinse with the water hose to look like it's been detailed again. I use Hybrid Solutions on the clearcoat decals, plastic rubber trim, wheels, and even on the Line-x bed liner and the tonneau cover! The stuff is "VERY IMPRESSIVE!".
I tried the Hybrid Solutions for the first time last summer when I got a bottle on sale for $10 and love it. It works great and is easy to apply. Lasts a long time too.
I recent applied Hybrid Solutions to my 3 cars and it's ease of application and durability have left me very impressed. For the price, I can't ever see going back to wax.
I’ve been using hybrid solutions for over a year, 4 total coatings. It is extremely easy to use in real world environments and last long enough with good enough performance. I supplement with their other products and have been extremely happy with the water beading and ease of cleaning
Another great test video, as usual, Todd. However, after trying MANY ceramic coatings over the years, I finally settled on Technician's Choice TEC582, myself. It was recommended to me by a friend who does automobile detailing for a large BMW dealership. TEC582 can be purchased by the gallon, and IMO, it outperforms nearly all of the ceramic coatings tested in this video, as I have tried a lot of them. TEC582 can be used full strength, diluted 50/50 with water, or sprayed on the vehicle as it is being dried. It actually helps to dry the vehicle when used in the last manner, while simultaneously adding a protective coating to the paint. TEC582 is very easy to apply, does not leave any powdery residue in the seams (put the old toothbrush away), lasts for months, is inexpensive, and it literally smells like a Pina Colada. TEC582 is also safe to use on paint, chrome, glass, rubber , and plastic. I highly recommend anyone that is looking for a great ceramic coating detailer to give TEC582 a try. It definitely will not disappoint.
Simply another outstanding and very helpful video. I started using Hybrid Solutions a couple of years ago after your previous video on spray coatings and have been very pleased with it. Great product that I can afford to use. Thank you for all you do for us.
I love your channel and watch it all the time. You are the fastest speaking person short of a good auctioneer. I know you pack as much information into your videos as you can. I just wish my brain worked that fast. Keep it up!
I've used a Adam's on a few vehicles. Several years later they still sheds water and dirt like new. It is by far some of the best stuff I have ever used
I find doing a proper ceramic coating to be too much work...i use the 303 Nano Graphene spray now... easiest product ive ever used and can easily be reapplied.
I put the Adam’s on my wife’s car last week. It was as amazing as you suggested. I will say you MUST have your car in perfect condition before applying. Whatever you start with, it will lock in and that’s it.
I've been using hybrid Solutions ever since your first ceramic coating video thank you it's nice to know it's still Keeping up with the best! Maybe for your next video you could compare some of those cheap Chinese turbo hand-held blowers/air dusters? (My first suggestion video) 😊
I can say that i have had amazing results with hybrid solutions i have it on my whole truck including wheels and windows. I have 2 coats of it and it made my paint have a darker shine than what it was before hand.
Turtle wax hybrid solution for the win, easy to use, last a long time and protects the car. Plus the price is great. You can do a whole car in about 15 minutes after you have washed it and clay bar it. You can use Turtle wax Ceramic 2 or 3 times a year and you good to go. It holds up. Thanks for the video.
Great video. One note fir all viewers. You want sheeting from a product. Especially if the vehicle you've applied to, sits outside. Beads sitting on your paint will leave hard water deposits behind.
That's what I thought too. I'm pretty sure you *want* sheeting -- you don't want droplets left behind that'll evaporate and leave water spots. The beading might be good when there's a lot of wind or when driving, but for a stationary vehicle, I have to think that sheeting would be better. You can even see it in this video -- the sheeting tends to "pull" the water downward without leaving behind small drops. If you want a dry vehicle (that is, you want all the water to drip to the ground), you'd WANT to see water sheets, not a bunch of small drops that will leave water spots everywhere.
Very thorough!! GREAT CONTENT! Better than myth busters! Subject reqest #1) 5 ways to improve car maintenance/ longevity #2) top paint chip fix / dent removal products #3) top engine oils, gas additives, octane boosters
It always amazes me how well thought out and scientific each test is. They are all measurable, consistent and free of bias. I find myself watching videos on stuff I do not plan on using. Sometimes I don’t even watch until the end for results, I can merely be satisfied by the process. Man’s a genius.
Great video as always! 🎥🚗 Love how thorough you are with testing various ceramic coatings. Have you thought about testing Nasiol Nano Ceramic Coatings? We've got some pretty impressive coatings, and I think you'd love to test them. Keep up the awesome work!💥
I wonder if the coatings you applied to that hood will have a permanent effect on the paint. I can see some guy buying it in 2031 at a used car lot and asking "why is there a checkerboard on the hood?"
Been using adams for about 6 years and have been impressed with most of their products including the wheel and tire cleaners and their graphene tire shine
I'm taking a delivery of a new Tesla Model 3 performance in June, and this is extremely well timed information. I am getting it wrapped with PPF, but I don't know about ceramic and so I'm about to learn.
Curious, why spend thousands to just PPF a model 3? Teslas are already one of the fastest depreciating cars around. Spending thousands on a car like that isn't worth it at all. You're just digging yourself a bigger hole. Just apply a ceramic spray/coating and call it a day. It's just a Tesla, not a collectible.
Congrats i also did front ppf on my 2024 model y performance 3 months ago and can't imagine a better car for the money. 43420 after incentives which it will pay for itself within 3 year of the gas and maintenance savings while turning the real world into a video game haha you'll love it, everyone is against bitcoin and tesla until they actually experience 1st hand how perfect they are compared to competition ( ice vehicles and fiat lol)
@@EvilSardine084 "isn't worth it." is to me. I keep cars long term with few exceptions. Recently sold my 1996 968. Still have my Grandmother's '57. If you are thinking in terms of depreciation, then what is your plan? Trading in? Suckers' game. Selling on your own? Ever done that? How much time are you planning to spend on that? Because my time is quite valuable per hour. So your comment seems pretty aggressive given that you don't know my needs or plans. Snarky and ignorant. Might want to dial that back.
There’s nothing more I can add about the quality of your content that others haven’t already said. This is yet another honest and straightforward video. By the way… If you ever do another video of ceramic coatings I would like to see how Griot's 3 in 1 Ceramic product compares. I applied it to my motorhome and it glowed in the dark!
This video needs to be retitled “Are Ceramic SEALANTS better than ACTUAL ceramic coatings. There is a huge difference between the 2 and this video is gonna spread misinformation. Project Farm, as a professional detailer those true ceramic coatings (that come in air tight droplet bottles) fully harden and strengthen after 2 weeks, not 24-48 hours. If you read those spray “ceramics” they are actually waxes with synthetic hydrophobic polymers (i.e. a PAINT SEALANT).. You always make great comparison videos but this is not a good comparison between products as the ceramic coatings in the video never fully got a chance to cure and harden.

You are welcome! Thanks for sharing.
Imagine using a clay bar on cheap Japanese crap.
@@TheLongDon As opposed to American crap? They only good cars are European and Tesla.

Thanks for the constructive feedback.
Exactly. This was far from apples-to-apples.
Very interesting.
the “real ceramic” coatings are impressive, often with a two to 3 year guarantee in my area, but,
i have a boat thats two years old and was quoted $25,000 for an application, takes two days they said.
its a 40’ invincible.
Thanks and you are welcome!
You are welcome!
Last time I used that clay lube, it turned my hands blue. Great test as always!
That's good to know. Thank you
No need for special lube, just use soapy water.
A Chinese product perhaps.
@@ZoonCrypticonalmost everything is Chinese made. Can you elaborate
I love that Turtle Wax Ceramic Hybrid spray. I’ve been using it for the last two years.

Its a great product but I will admit i put the Adams effort into it because im just that way.😂
Thanks for sharing.
I use the Little Green Turtle too, but I just wash, dry and then apply to both my white RAV4 and Champagne/gold Camry , both cars look great.
I’ve actually been waiting on this video. I bought a new Tundra (2012 but still new to me) and I want to do what I can to protect the paint. As a disabled Vet living in SSC I have to be very frugal so this info was perfect timing; I will be ordering the Hybrid Solutions.

Thanks! Thanks for the feedback.

Great video. One note fir all viewers. You want sheeting from a product. Especially if the vehicle you've applied to, sits outside. Beads sitting on your paint will leave hard water deposits behind.
Thanks! Thanks for the feedback.
Awesome test. Thanks Project Farm!

Curious, why spend thousands to just PPF a model 3? Teslas are already one of the fastest depreciating cars around. Spending thousands on a car like that isn't worth it at all.
