The only thing I do not like about the SR22 is the backward safety. Those are European safeties, not American. No handgun should have a safety you have to push UP to fire. But since it has a hammer, leave the safety off and the long first trigger pull will be as good as a safety.

I'm pretty sure the Ruger SR22 wins by a good margin here. Ruger has been making .22 semi-auto pistols for over 70 years and knows what they are doing. The GLOCK, Taurus and Sig pistols are new entries into a market they previously never dabbled in.

My preference is gonna be the rugersr22 because the saftey features the decocker the bright red fire/safety and the no magazine dead trigger feature also the size compared too the glock and the taurus and utimately the comfort of all these safety options as a good first time shooter, ive been shooting for a while now but getting people into shooting training etc like im doing with my wife she loves shooting the 22lr pistols and id feel more comfortable ahowing her the sr22 iver the conpetitors again just based on the safety features which the others seem too lack in my opinion. Great video btw thanks for the time too show us, have a great reat of your day sir!

I've had more malfunctions in one day with the GLOCK 44 than I've had out of the TX22 EVER.
I trust Glocks, I love my Glocks. EXCEPT for the G44. I feel terrible for anybody who watched a video like this and then went out and bought one.
I've fired a few different G44s and they ALL malfunction a LOT. I fired a few different TX22s also before I bought one and they're ALL great. The TX22 is just about the funnest semi auto pistol that I've ever shot except for my .32 (which I can barely get ammo for). I can't buy enough cheap ammo for the TX22. Federal Auto Match has been going for around $20 for a box of 325 at my local walmart and I've gone through many boxes without any malfunctions. Had several weak rounds and it still cycled just fine.
I put the same ammo through the G44s (plural) and just about every other 10 ROUND magazine has a minor failure of some kind.
Maybe you bought yours from the guy who sold Jack his beanstalk beans but the only people that I know of who run "thousands of rounds" through the G44 with "no problems" are the ones who do it off camera when nobody else is around.
The G44 does what I would've expected out of Taurus. The TX22 does what I'd have expected out of a Glock.
If you switched the price tags, I would STILL choose the TX22 ALL DAY!
The best thing about the G44 is that it made me a lot more open minded to cheaper guns. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go ahead and order that "YEET CANON" now.
    THANKS GLOCK!

Good review. I carry the SR-22 in my rotation for many reasons in carry mode. First is that double action hammer (double strike capability). Most .22 cal. rounds, when they do fail, is a more harden area of the rim. Striker Fire can not QUIKLY RE-STRIKE and keep going. The double action pull, after the de-cock and return to Fire, allows me to place the trigger in the stronger double action mode as the trigger safety. Single action is quite nice and just as smooth as my G42, G19, OR my G23. The carry size profile is that of my G26, BUT LIGHTER by a lot. Accuracy and follow-ups are highly quicker than any of my centerfire choices, allows me to keep my barrel on a moving threat. All my platforms are lasered/lamped for my Carry. Again, the only miss Fire I’ve encountered have been 99.9% that of a hardened rim and 99.9% the second-strike cleared my chamber. Some of my expensive carry center fired rounds, not many, have failed to eject (stove-piped) do to a light charge, it does happen. Ammo choice on any .22Cal a must and consider the SR-22 highly reliable, I WILL CARRY IT. If I can’t carry it, I won’t purchase it.

I haven't had the Taurus as long, but had to get a new barrel because it original one wasn't rifled and was key holing. After the new barrel it's been quite nice to shoot, though today I was having FTF problems with one of my magazines. Never had issues with the Ruger.

All of my SR22s have been awesome. I feel like something hokey is going on with his. The safety is upside down because that’s how the decocker works. Also because it is a double action, that is why the trigger is so different.

Paula Tudor, yes rimfire ammo has come a long way, BUT, hard primers on a 22 round are a real thing. Sometimes, hitting a round twice is enough ( why I mentioned the advantage of double strike capability) and sometimes it doesn’t matter how many times you strike it.
True, some guns are poorly constructed, some have faulty magazines, some are human error, But rimfire ammo is disadvantaged by the manufacturing process.

    • @lintlicker4178
      @lintlicker4178 Год назад

Re strike doesn't count on rimfire, it's usually a void in the primer , since it is a liquid that hardens in the rim, usually need to rotate them then try again

Your experience with the SR22 must have been much different than mine. The SR22 that I shot had at least a couple of FTF's in every magazine (rim lock?). I was shooting it side by side with my TX22 which never had a hiccup, using the same ammo. If I recall correctly, I was using Aguila 44gr. Neither did I like the size of the SR22, it felt almost toy like in comparison to my TX22.

I know what you are saying about the Ruger and the auto disconnect. I "Heard" and at first did not believe the "Rumors" about 22lr = more injuries and possible deaths with 22lr-as they seem to have little to no recoil and some people not treating them with the respect that a firearm should be treated with. I do know for fact that at one of the ranges I go to, a youg lady/girl was shooting a 22lr pistol, a casing bounced off a protective wall-went down the back of her t-shirt and started to burn her back. She failed to put the 22lr pistol down on the ledge and reached behind her back with the pistol in her hand. This resulted in a negligent discharge while the pistol was in her hand. This cost her a 3 1/2 hour surgery, The bullet must have hit her leg in just the wrong spot. I am starting to believe that the "Rumor" of more people being injured with a 22lr is more fact than fiction. I now think that if you buy a 22lr pistol and ANYONE THAT IS NOT A seasoned shooter, may be operating the weapon and I know a few. The more safty features built in place the better. I have seen many people under 21 years of age shooting pistols (Even though in the company of an adult) operating firearms. There I am done. I hate to see people get hurt.-I do not even watch boxing matches.

Because I've been shooting it for weeks and the TX22 chews it up with no problems.
(edit: No kidding, it's my favorite thing to shoot lately. I have a 32 acp that's just as fun but ammunition for it is close to a dollar per round when I can find it at all. I've been shooting with my wife a lot lately and she doesn't want to shoot anything bigger than that (even though she groups as well as anybody else with the 9mm that she carries for defense).
I shot a few G44s and a few TX22s before I went with the Taurus despite WANTING the Glock to be better. I still love Glock, I still trust and carry a G19 but that G44 is the Mitt Romney of Glocks as far as I'm concerned. I'd love to see a "new and improved" version but in my opinion, Taurus is the KING of 22lr semi auto pistols for now.
