Actually this video is bull shit. I'm not Glock fan, but everyone who owned a semi auto .22 they are very particular about running cheap ammo. All you have to do is spend about 5 cents a round more and enjoy this gun.tjere is no possible way this guy has shot much with a quality 22 running cheap ammo. I have 4 semi auto 22 and I can't run cheap shit in it. Now I have cheap rounds that I run through a revolver, pump or bolt action guns with zero problems. Like I said I don't care for Glocks at all, but let's not pretend they don't make damn good guns. I haven't watched any of his other video's but I hope they aren't as ridicules as this one

These videos should never be the deciding factor in your purchase. These are typically biased opinions, would not doubt a bit if he already was not a fan of Glocks. Some videos that show guns malfunction and how they think it is a crap gun. What they don't realize the best gun manufacturers in the world have put out shit guns. Remington 700 is a gun I have had malfunction in my hands multiple times. You can look it up on Remington 700's firing when turning safety on. Our u.s. military had thousands that did it. Guess what I have no problem grabbing my new 700. Just luck of the draw sometimes. One of the most shit on guns ever, 9mm hi-point I bought as a joke has never misfired no matter what ammo I use. Now I may not take it out and show it to folks, but for 200 bucks I have no problem withy life depending on that gun to fire

Ok so I bought a G44 last week on impulse without really watching any videos or reviews or anything. I shot it for the first time today and wanted to give my input on it. I shot about 600 rounds of a variety of different ammo. 36gr, 38gr, and 40gr. From Federal Auto Match and High Velocity, Remington Thunderbolts and Golden Bullets and Winchester Super X. I had about 5 stove pipes and maybe 5-10 failure to fires in 500 rounds. The failures to fires were definitely dud rounds as they wouldn't fire in my buddies Mk.4 either. Honestly we shot the G44 90% of the time today and my friends Mk.4 had more failures than my G44. Including a stuck case in the chamber of the Mk.4 that needed to be rammed out. The one thing I will state is that 22plinkster is definitely right about the magazines needing to be paid attention to while loading. If you aren't careful the top round will sometimes nose down and cause a failure to feed. Although for whatever reason it seemed to mainly happen while loading certain brands of ammo (Winchester Super X) Although that seems kinda ridiculous and is probably just my imagination. My gun also doesn't have a problem with shooting high. But it did shoot quite a bit to the left. So I had to adjust the sights. In summary I am VERY pleased with the Glock 44 and couldn't be happier with it.
On a side note I'm definitely not a Glock fan boy as this is actually my first Glock.

It seems these are fairly rare, but I suspect there are more than the two examples I've stumbled upon. Since the guns are just getting out there into circulation it will be interesting to see how frequent these failures are. I am keen to try some other ammo to see if it has problems so we will see. I do think it has been a great training tool for my daughter especially when she moves up to my g19 I feel she will have a better understanding of the trigger pull and lining up the sights. Either way I feel like it was worth the price just for the training aspect.

@@juniortat5908 Marks aren't as expensive as they might seem. A basic 5.5" 22/45 is about $330, though that is a touch larger than the G44. You can also get a 22/45 Lite with top and bottom rails and a threaded barrel for $440, which is the same size as the G44. That may seem pricey to the G44 at $360, but remember a G44 threaded barrel is another $100. And the Mark will perform much better.
Though, yes, they're not exactly the same class of pistol. If you absolutely need a rimfire trainer for your Glock, a Mark won't cut it. But if you just want a solid .22 semi-auto pistol for plinking or teaching new shooters, a G44 would be at the bottom of my list.

Exactly. I don't care what anybody says most guns sooner or later will choke on junk ammo. Some more than others and apparently the Glock 44 is in the more group. For me though I didn't buy it for fun and I didn't buy it for plinking. I bought it to teach my wife. This fit the same holster as a 19, the grip feels like a 19, etc. Some people can train with any 22 and transition to any gun and be ok. Not my wife believe me. For me the light primer strikes and FTEs are a small price to pay for the training benefits. Want more reliability, buy better ammo. Training is worth the .06 per round. That being said it's performance is disappointing and I would never use it for anything where my life counted on it.

@Rooster Cogburns Eyepatch Some great advice, thanks mate. I'm guessing unless you have a lot of powder and a 40g projectile then getting 5he thing to cycle would be very difficult. Would accuracy be a function of too short a barrel to induce enough spin plus max velocity not reached? I shoot a Lithgow .22 rifle and it's very sub 1 moa groups at 100yds/mitres with CCI standard.

Rick, same for me. Paid $360 at Big Town Gunshow (Mesquite, TX) on Sunday. Monday I put a few drops of Rem Oil on it, shot approximately 500 rounds of various ammo with two hiccups (ammo problem). Federal bulk 36 gr, Federal 40 gr, Federal Auto Match, Winchester 36 and 40 gr, CC Mini Mag, Remington Thunderbolt 40 gr. Shot mostly bulk Federal 36 and Winchester bulk. -- One small problem: I may need to adjust windage. Groups nice but about 1" right at 10 yards. I'll shoot it a bit more before I adjust it. May just be my old tired eyes. Good gun. -- I also think that Plinkster must have just gotten a lemon.

I have to say the mag is far from the best, but if you take 3 seconds to loosen the tension on the mag upside down, and give it a shake (making sure all rounds are nose up) it makes a world of difference. I just shot half a carton of nasty bulk Remington from 2008, without a single issue. A fun gun to plink with.

Hi everyone!! Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. Just like he said the Taurus TX22 is a FANTASTIC gun!!! IV had mine for about 2yrs and put probably 2000rds thru it of all kinds of ammo, bulk stuff NIB, old junk drawer ammo that is more than likely 10+ yrs old, expensive stuff.. basically anything I have or could find during the Great ammo shortage a few years back. That Taurus is amazing, accuracy is fantastic, durability is amazing and it comes with a threaded barrel! It's also easy to take apart to clean and is also very light. The capacity is also better than the glock, out of the box it holds 16+1! You can also get some awesome upgrades as well, I've already put a nicer spring in it instead of the cheaper plastic guide rod spring. But you can get mag extensions that bump up the capacity even farther to 21rds! The Taurus TX22 is by far my new favorite 22 pistol, and IV owned/ shot a shit ton of 22 pistols. Can't go wrong with one! Buy it and you won't regret it! It also has a growing market for all kinds of fun accessories and aftermarket parts! I've seen people deck out thies TX22's into comp guns that are insane!! So up against the glock 44 it's a no brainer. The TX22 is way cheaper ($200-$250 when I bought mine), it has more capacity, more reliable, has an aftermarket just like Glocks do, also feels more durable in the hands than the glock since it has a metal slide unlike the Glock 44. But once again it's all down to what shoots best for you! If you only shoot cci mini mags and your Glock 44 does great and you like the fit better than any other 22 pistol... Go for it!! But I encourage Glock Fanboys to at least give the TX22 a try, you won't regret it. This all is coming from a Glock fanboy! I've had Glocks for almost 20yrs now and love them!! My gen 3 G17 is my go to CC gun and it goes everywhere with me... Even to the toilet in my own home lol! Never know when shit can hit the fan!💩💩💩

During the ammo bullshit period.. I bought a g44 and Walter 1911-22.
I have minimal issues g44 with jamming with ammo when I load my mag carefully.. one thing is obvious Glock 10 rd mags vs 18round pmags.. winner Glock mags until pmags are broken in. (Roughly 2k ) I have roughly 5000 rds thru the Glock 44..
but if you don’t carefully load the mags you will get a lot of practice clearing malfunctions.
I shoot 38-40grain and PFS of 1100 and get 3-5 jams per 300 rounds..
Most shoot the cheap federal stuff 40gr and 1100 PFS..
Accuracy is above average but could be my eye sight, the rock in my show or bug buzzing in my ear!!
Still overall a joy to shoot and Glock customer will work with you if you have an issue..
The Walter 1911-22 the same but more accurate. At least 5k rounds thru that two..
Just really clean the guns every 300-500 round till broken in the. You can go 600-800 round before cleaning..

Thanks for the "heads up" on the G44. I bought one and used several brands of 40gr, and each worked without an issue . I also put some old "Zapper" through it without issue. Tried some "sub-sonic" 36gr and it was a no go. Put about 300 rounds through, and for me, it is a very decent shooter, (with the right ammo). I think it has a pretty smooth trigger with an easy re-set, and decently crisp follow up shots.

    • @jcameronvideoproductions4271
      @jcameronvideoproductions4271 4 года назад +4

Just as a followup, I believe that the issue that is encountered by lighter weight/slower 36gr rounds is the result of a heavy recoil spring in the 44. The G44 racking feels pretty much like racking a G19 or any other center fire G. With a "heavy" spring, the G44 needs more weight/power to consistently function 100%. Bulk 36gr. ammo, or subsonic or other under powered ammo just doesn't cut it. Would it be possible to fine tune the G44 to handle bulk, 36gr. subsonic? I think it might by replacing the heavy spring with a lighter one. Would I do that? No, because I would rather use the little bit more expensive 40gr high power ammo than to do the light spring switch. If anyone puts the lighter spring in the G44, IMP, they should probably only shoot the lighter stuff for fear of damaging the gun with harder cycling 40gr. I'd guess that you could switch springs and shoot what you want, but I'm too lazy for that. Your thoughts?

Now here's a puzzling phenomenon. Yesterday I got my hands on a new in box Taurus XT-22. I put 300 rounds through it without one single problem or issue. ANY ammo. 40gr., 36gr, high velocity, sub sonic, old, cheap, bulk anything. Perfect function on every 16 round mag. Perfect. Although I've owned and carried Glock for many years on duty and in retirement, I have to admit some disappointment in the comparison.

This has a design reminiscent of the KelTec PMR-30 I own, specifically the hybrid steel/polymer design. It's not too finicky about ammo too but runs cci/speer perfect. The main difference between them are the Glock has a striker, KelTec has a hidden hammer, glock has a 10 round single stack, KelTec has 30 round dbl stack. The KelTec also is hybrid blowback. Most of its issues come from the magazine being improperly loaded, because dbl stack, rimmed ammo magazines are very finicky
I think the hammer leads to less light primer strikes, plus the increased pressure of the .22 WMR helps avoid cycling issues.
    Just my opinion

Ran 40 grain remington thunderbolts through it flawless and is a bulk ammo.500 rnds for 19 bucks.Wildcats 36 grain ran 4 mags only one misfire. So far this little pistol has exceeded my expectations but only 329 brand new for it.Anyways like your vids and nice gun review.

The whole point of a 22 rim fire is save money so if you have to buy an expensive gun and ammo to boot then it’s missed the mark

I've been shooting my G44 now for about 14 months. It shot high with the rear site fully lowered. Replaced the front sight post with a 0.205" sight and that moved POI to the middle of rear sight elevation adjustment. Accuracy is so so. Typically 2" groups at 15 yds. It does not like most 36 grain ammo unless hyper velocity. 38 and 40 grain no problem. Loaded magazines need to have the follower pull down slightly and a quick shake to settle the cartridge case heads against the magazine body and they function fine. Overall, I'm happy with the pistol and would purchase again. Love the low weight and corrosion resistance. Great field pistol.

Winchester rounds were pretty bad, a lot of low powder or low pressure rounds. The other stuff I had two failure to fires on the first attempt, the second attempt they did fire. I had one casing get hung up during ejection because of low recoil from the round. These are minor ammo issues. I don't blame the firearm, it worked fine. Could be I got a good one, don't know we will see. So far I'm more than happy with it's performance. Thanks for the video and for your time and opinion. Stay safe.

A lot of the problems though do come from poor quality rounds. Winchester SuperX and Remington Thunderbolts are trash rounds. I've had problems with them in my bolt action. I bought 2, one for my wife and one for our daughter. Took them to the range loaded with 333 Winchester HP. Nothing but troubles with stove piping, failure to feed, misfires, what a disappointment... I also brought 115 CCI Mini mags I had leftover in my safe for over 25 years, all of those shot perfectly so I decided to try the Aguila 40 grain ammo, 1,255 FPS, went back and after 700 rounds in each of the G44s we only had a total of 4 failure to fire. These are fantastic little pistols as long as you feed them the right ammo.
Since the higher caliber ammo is so expensive for the amount we shoot, I decided to buy the Taurus TX22 for myself. It was less expensive and gets good reviews. The Taurus had several failure to feed but I expected that with a brand new gun. But I have to say, the Glock is a better quality pistol. The mags in the Taurus are very cheap and feel like they will fall apart easily. My daughter, wife, and myself all prefer the Glock over the Taurus .22LR.
