A bit of pre-lubing of the segment's threads should be fine at silencing that noise during the suppressor's screwing-together process.

What would be interesting to know is how much velocity changes with the addition of more segments AND what the different additions do to the decibel readings as well!
I want to see what would happen if two barrels were threaded together muzzle to muzzle and a round sent through. Would you need a different twist rate to cause problems or would the second barrel's rifling from the muzzle be enough to mess the round up?
100% it would mess up the round abd the 2nd barrel. For them to be muzzle to muzzle the rifling in the 2nd barrel would be rotating the other way. It would be carnage.
@@dan3458 Carnage might be a bit overkill. It would definitely damage the rifling in the second barrel if it had a large enough deviation from the first. But if a shotgun can take a 1oz slug through a choke without causing carnage I don't think reversing the threads would do much beyond striping the rifling.
Twist orientation is constant in a solid object regardless of if you turn it around. Think about how a coil spring upside down still looks identical to right side up.
I love this channel so much. Matt is always answering the questions I'm too scared to ask, like what if you get a suppressor so long that you can just poke people with it a mile away?
High-end Air Rifles often have barrel shrouds. These are, usually, made of carbon fibre and they screw on over the barrel proving support. Something like this would be perfect for this experiment. Fully silenced .50BMG maybe possilbe?!?!?
Remember, with the Erector 69 you need to make sure you have permits for multiple States because the moment you point that thing you will probably cross multiple Borders. If after shooting no bullet exits the barrel, it does not necessarily mean a misfire, do not watch down the barrel remember that it takes the Bullet some time before it reaches the end of the barrel (a bullet only travels at around the speed of sound after all). Sometime a bullet might not come out at all since it probably gets lost on the way!
Matt had me literally holding my finger on the volume button every time he added a new section 😆. That noise was awful. Awesome video as always (minus the screeching thread noises)
I could see suppressors like this being useful for long term sniping positions. And the possibility for complete silence+zero muzzle flash means the position could possibly *stay* as a sniping position for a longer period of time. If the longer suppressor had some sort of support instead of just hanging off the end, it wouldn’t sag and would only increase velocity. I think an integrally suppressed sniper rifle with a very long barrel like this and a way to support the weight without drooping would be perfect for certain positions like holding an area.
At some point you would not only get into diminishing returns, but you would also end up losing a lot of velocity with a really long barrel/suppressor setup, even when properly supported, which will in turn start to affect your accuracy and effective range. There is bound to be some sweet spot where you've got just enough barrel length and suppression to serve the purpose of staying hard to detect without hindering performance, but that will tend to vary depending on the bullets being shot and at what sort of distances are required.
Not only is it quiet, it's also very hard to miss your target when the end of the barrel is mere inches away from it!

Scenario: You’re the lone survivor of your platoon. You’ve managed to find hiding behind enemy lines with enemy soldiers no more than 30 feet in any direction, and you know your only chance to make it home is with stealth and absolute silence. Your shots will definitely alert the surrounding 30 enemy soldiers. But you remember your Q silencer. It’s meant to be - silence is your plan to slowly eliminate them all 1 by 1. You’re ready. Your family runs through your head. Be silent, be still. Aim true. You begin attaching your silencer… 14:51

Soldier 2: I dunno, let’s just focus
*more noises*
Soldier 3: Hey do you hear that?
Soldier 4: Yeah whats that
Soldier 2: Not sure
*an eternity of noises later*

Edit: they probably sent a guy to investigate or smth
Thats just the call of the infamous DemolitionBird they wont suspect a thing
Guy 1: You hear that?! Sounds like someone screwing on multiple 2 by 2 tubes
Guy 2: Huh, might’ve just been the pipe men
Guy 1: Guess so, even our suppressors wouldn’t make that much noise
Guy 2: . . .
Guy 1: Hey? You goo-
Its like a duck call for a very special kind of duck.
Your video where you shot through loopty loops made me super confident about these minimally angled suppressors
Right I forgot about that
I was about to say the same thing then I thought lemme see if someone else said it first lol
Yessssss! I just watched the sapphire video and searched the channel for silincers and here it is ahahah I love it
That was the most gloriously long and elaborate setup to a dad joke I’ve ever seen!! You are truly the king!!
what was the joke

imagine if it just kept going
Would be interesting to see that in war
@19:48 tho... GETTIN IT!
😅agreed, one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen
Imagine being on guard duty at your base and you hear a loud screeching sound, looking to your right and seeing special forces putting suppressors on their guns while looking at you
Lmao, shooting them not because they're your enemy. But because you want the screeching to stop
why not just spray them down with wd40 or some

this is the most least stealthy stealthy thing ever lmao 🤣
I love how Matt is behind cover but cameraman just points the camera over the cover haha. Obviously it's safe, cameramen always survive
Imagine trying to _assemble_ these on the battlefield, and trying to be as silent as possible (the "tactical velcro opening" jumps into my mind :D)
Just bust out a loud ass fart! Then they wont hear u when u put the silencer on!!!!1111!!1!11
omg i love that clip
I burst into tears from laughing when he walked from behind the tree with a suppressor long enough to be used as a pole vault😂
“ stop you gonna get me in trouble” 😂 6:51
Its so cool to see that he still does his funny intros after doing yt for long, while some of the older names have kind of given up on it. Keep up the good work man
Would have been interesting to have a dB meter to see how much more quiet it got.
Honestly
I was coming here to say this...like tf did u even do this for if you didn't have a dB reader on hand?
Was there a benefit adding segments? To me the second one was noticeable after that I didn't hear any difference from the microphone.
Yes but nah, this is a clown channel no fancy tests in here.
@demolition ranch
The 9mm suppressor squeaks are like the sound your school chair makes when your teacher says to be quiet.
🤔
Came back to watch this again. 2:35 is just... spectacular.
The reason I love this channel is the videos are so quiet and relaxing 👍🏼🇺🇸
A few more silencers and they can be completely quiet
i love the piercing sound of someone screwing on an unethicality long suppressor
those 9mm subsonic rounds were so cool and so freaking quiet. Love it!
You would think the guy that was shooting through pipes to make bullets curve around corners would have known what was gonna happen 🤟
We do this all the time with our muzzleloaders(shoot around corners not play with our erectors)
More people need to like this post. Because I was literally thinking the same thing.
this is the only channel where iv been a fan for over 10 years
What would be interesting to know is how much velocity changes with the addition of more segments AND what the different additions do to the decibel readings as well!
It really would be difficult to be this consistent for as long as he has
I want to see what would happen if two barrels were threaded together muzzle to muzzle and a round sent through. Would you need a different twist rate to cause problems or would the second barrel's rifling from the muzzle be enough to mess the round up?
He should do this
100% it would mess up the round abd the 2nd barrel. For them to be muzzle to muzzle the rifling in the 2nd barrel would be rotating the other way. It would be carnage.
Id watch that
@@dan3458 Carnage might be a bit overkill.
Your bayonet would have to be a ninja sword.
@@xXB.FunkXx I unironically love the fact he’s now taking inspiration from his comments section for new videos.
Bro that quietness of the 9MM is mad wildddd 😂😂😂 dope
You should take that SP5 with the 5ft suppressor to a CQB class and video the instructors reaction when you put it on.
Really what I would like to see is a Decibel test and also an FPS test to see how it all gets affected!!! Awesome content keep it up!
How about a decibel reading while he's screwing them together?
I love the fact when you shot it gets louder because the go pro isn’t having to silence the noise as much
3:41 Watching the exact moment Matt comes to the realization of "droopy erection" is hilarious lmao
Would love to see a version where the suppressors were supported. 🙌🏽
5 more likes to 69 guys
@@quest4adventure495 We all dream of 69 guys right?
High-end Air Rifles often have barrel shrouds. These are, usually, made of carbon fibre and they screw on over the barrel proving support.
Something like this would be perfect for this experiment.
Fully silenced .50BMG maybe possilbe?!?!?
I was totally expecting you to use a decibel meter and record how much quieter it got each extra segment lol
Or a chronograph to see how much slower the bullets are after leaving that many suppressors.
@@xdragon2k suppressor shouldn’t slow down the velocity at all
You were totally expecting to be at a different channel then, right? :)
Suppressors should actually increase the amount of speed cause it is kinda a barrel extension
@@xdragon2k cod logic
Remember, with the Erector 69 you need to make sure you have permits for multiple States because the moment you point that thing you will probably cross multiple Borders.
If after shooting no bullet exits the barrel, it does not necessarily mean a misfire, do not watch down the barrel remember that it takes the Bullet some time before it reaches the end of the barrel (a bullet only travels at around the speed of sound after all). Sometime a bullet might not come out at all since it probably gets lost on the way!
Erector 69 sounds weird
"A bullet only travels at the speed of sound" isn't the speed of sound on the slower side for bullet travel speed? Please inform me.
I hate when my bullet gets lost while traveling. It must have missed that left at Albuquerque.
@@EdyAlbertoMSGT3 I think you missed the point of the joke....
@@Dkgow yeah, it was supposed to go strait past Albuquerque. if its making a left, you got a bigger problem, which would be baffling to see.

The joke was worth it but holy shit that was brutal through my cars speakers.
Would have been cool to see this with a decibel meter too so we could see how much more quiet it got
Lo compro, lastima que se olvido de usarlo!
The dog 6 houses down started howling every time you added more baffles
I could see suppressors like this being useful for long term sniping positions. And the possibility for complete silence+zero muzzle flash means the position could possibly *stay* as a sniping position for a longer period of time. If the longer suppressor had some sort of support instead of just hanging off the end, it wouldn’t sag and would only increase velocity.
I think an integrally suppressed sniper rifle with a very long barrel like this and a way to support the weight without drooping would be perfect for certain positions like holding an area.
⬆️⬆️it’s your lucky day, you’re among my shortlisted winners 🎁🎁, contact above 💬💬⬆️⬆️
@@Uradamus nah think like 10 foot sniper
@@Uradamus suppressors don't reduce muzzle velocity. If anything it increases because the pressure stays behind d it longer.
You will hit a maximum velocity at some point, not to mention the bigass suppressor would be bulky as hell
