Very nearly ordered this but the fact it doesn't come with a pinion gear & is tricky to find a pinion gear to fit the scx24. Killed it for me. Ordered the mb100 & purple injora motor instead
I have the Injora brushless kit and can say the esc is trash, I wanted this one too but I need to find some brass pinions first, I’d rather get a furitek setup for another 30$ with Bluetooth tuning
I love their systems been running it in my mini 24th scale drifter for over a year now absolutely love it. Glad to see they’re finally coming out with some thing for the crawlers.
Adam, my friend, I want to thank you for tossing it into the SCX24 platform. I received my MINI24 the other day; unfortunately, I have to wait for the new Lexus GX470 to arrive. This video is going to be on repeat, until then😂🤣😂 Additionally, I love that it requires the $10 Hobbywing Program card vs. the Furitek app; this is a good thing because, if you are crawling where there is no cell service, you can still make ESC adjustments😎 Also, you aren’t paying the extra money for the Furitek app’s server maintenance, etc. P.S.A: MOFO RC offers a $10 steel 2mm shaft mod.3 13t press on pinion for SCX24. He also sells an aluminum 9mm (forward facing) motor mount for SCX24, it’s $20. (The 9mm motor mount Will fit up to a 14t mod.3 or 8t mod.5 pinion gear.) ☮️and❤ Bobby Lee Fort Collins, CO

Hi! I see almost all your videos and hardly ever comment, but just Today I have configured all the parameters of my dasmikro esc just with the button. Turn on your esc with the button pressed for 10-15 seconds and it starts to cycle the options. Don’t release it, once you here the amount of beeps you want (5 for instance) you release it. Now you can press and cycle through the options for row 5. Something like that, look it up! You may do a lot of config but for someone having just one configurable ESC that will hardly ever configure again it is some saving hehe
I was tired of waiting for an answer about motor mounts from Hobbywing to finish my first 1/24 build, so I ended up buying a Fat Viper combo from Injora, at the same price range everything is included, steel pinion and motor mount. I've been using it for 2 weeks now, probably 20 lipos, and I like it a lot.
@@Danielxperez14 (using my RC account to answer) I run the Fat Viper motor with the Injora MBL32 esc with 2s batteries and I'm very pleased by this combo, there's some videos of it on my channel. Sorry I have not tried the Hobbywing esc so I can't tell if you can use it with a Fat Viper motor. Can I ask what you dislike about the Injora esc ?
Great to see the brushless kits of 24th scale. However after running the furitek this summer. I found that you have to blow out the out runners because sand and grit gets inside them very easy. I'm looking for I runner motors like the cedar from furitek. Water resistant and dust proof. I use my rigs outside so they get dusty and dirty. The out runners I feel like are more for indoor use. I also don't like that you have to keep wires and everything clear because they rotate. I hope hobby wing and injora make an Inrunner option for the micros.
I run nothing but outside I might clean my Motors out every 6 months and then put a couple drops at 3 and 1 oil on them but I run all mofo Motors right now and I've never had a problem also my ESC is big kid tiny trucks
I still have not opened mine, and by watching your video I realized it brings that horrible tiny battery plug. I wish it brought a JST plug. Oh well, I guess I'll have to cut it up and solder a new battery plug. Thanks for the video review. Great information as always.
Love the videos! Would you ever consider doing a video comparing all the SCX24 models? I’d love to get your thoughts on which current model is the most capable
Hobbywing is about to take Furitek's lunch! I run a Furitek Cedar with Lizard Pro in my SCX24. I've been wanting to put brushless into my Ascent18. Given the friendlier pricing, I'm gonna have to give the Hobbywing combo a try.
Make sure whoever purchases this make sure you pick up the original $10 program card! This combo fits perfectly on trx4m with injora 11t or furitek 11t pinion with set screw
@@melmskilemz6307it’s for the trx4m. Have an email from Hobbywing stating it. It’s direct drop in for that truck. They never tried the motor in An scx24, only the esc as a brushed setup. Competitions good, yet no one is really challenging Furitek since no one does configuration through an app. I'd try more ESC's if they offered that as well
Maybe a little cheaper than a Furitek stinger combo after the mount, pinion and card but i'm not sure. And it might be as good. I have no issue with my Stinger setups though. The Furitek motors and ESCs I have (6 of each) has never failed and they just fall into place as is. Same with the 1/10 fusions (4) though. I use the old type lizard pros which are smaller than the newer ones and can still be had. Between the app and the radio settings I have all the settings I need. First off, don't discard the v2 esc if you go brushless. I personally use a flysky gt5 transmitter with my brushless set-ups. If you want better control but want to stay brushed, check out Mofo Rc's Torque beast 050 motor. It is plug and play with your gladiator
@@toddlloyd9161 I would suggest a Furitek Cayman or cheaper an Axial Gladiator. The Cayman will need more parts and the RTR Gladiator will need a lot of parts replaced (almost all). For a hobbyist that is. Otherwise buy what has a body you like.

The FOC system allows you to put the throttle at 5% and the motor will not stop for anything, it will maintain the same rpm with any obstacle. With a traditional brushed combo, if you have any obstacle in the road you need to put more throttle to pass.
@@shockman8014 Exactly. Just like the combustion engine, on an uphill slope you need more "pedal" to go up. With FOC this is not necessary. You can set the transmitter to 1% of the throttle and nothing will stop the car.
@@shockman8014 In my opinion I do not consider FOC better than a good brushed combo (it is in terms of efficiency and instant response). I prefer the brushed touch of my Holmes Crawlmaster 550 13T + HW1080 because it feels like a slow old diesel engine with tons of torque.
