I've been doing some testing and I'm going to tell you now in my eyes to ROP is the best motor on the market micro Fury Tech Motor which all of them were built off of Nick's motor I mean a lot of people know this anyway it is pretty damn good in snow but I don't think it compares to the ROP actually just put the mini Komodo in my car last night just to test it and it is not near as fast it is pretty smooth but not near as fast and not just that but Nick is trying to do it out of his garage he's trying to build a business out of it you know so let's help our fellow man out
You just took the comp build from epic to MVP bro , I know you will get it to purr like a kitten . Definitely gotta check that motor out . Great 👍 video Adam
Looking at Mofo's website they look like really high quality without killing the budget. I think I'm going to have to pick one of these motors up. It's slow enough for me but what I want is slow enough like this but then also able to at least go as fast as I can walk.
We all strive for the perfect build.it's hard sometimes with the learning process with pushed inadequate parts! We want quality but some vendors like money over quality. They know this.
This is just a generalized statement. I wasn't referring to this guy in general. More like fenders pumping out terrible stock axel shafts in down right unreliable ecs are my current grips in general lol
@Cape Crawlers I agree and definitely want to get that exact set up for maybe my Deadbolt. I'm getting ready to install a Reefs 99 as soon as I get the servo mount that I ordered.
Just ordered myself the ROP motor after seeing your video Adam. I love the purple 😍😍 and after having the SMP motor in my C10 it was a no brainer. I have the Ripper chassis from LGRP so think its going in to that build, just got to wait for the Super 8 billet rear axle to come into stock so i can start the build 👍🏻👍🏻. Still the best channel on RUclips in my opinion, not many channels come close to be fair. Looking forward to the next video and think your Comp build is going to be unstoppable, such a nice looking rig also 😍. 🤜🏻🤛🏻🤙🏻👍🏻❤️
Thank you! Man, this would be amazing in the Ripper. Let me know how that goes. I am starting a ripper build very soon and am debating on what motor to use in it.
@@CapeCrawlers certainly will Adam. Will have to get my hands on the Tegu V2 cos the V1 that i have doesnt allow me to up the voltage for the Mofo Brass servo i have.
Definitely a improvement I just bought a Furitek cayman cause I wanted brushless without ruining my stock lcg chasis I made it’s gonna be fun to compare my brushed setup versus my cayman build.
Do you think this Tegu24 would be a good ESC to run in my Max Smashers with the speed motor issue I mentioned? Do I need a Furitek transmitter too? I was planning on getting one anyways for my TRX4M (Can I run same transmitter on both trucks?)
I'd have to look at the plug on the Max Smasher motor. It may not fit the Tegu. But if it did, you would need the avatar transmitter. And yes, the avatar can run up to 10 trucks.
hey buddy I had a quick question, I put the FairRC high speed motor in one of my Max Smashers and now the throttle cuts out constantly, do you think this is an ESC issue? I switched to a 30c 2s Lipo that I made sure to fully charge and still having issues. I have the V2 electronics, I am not sure they are up to the task, the motor is very warm too after running a few minutes. What motor do you recall you put in yours?
I have the high speed motor in both of ours. My sons used to do the same: cut in and out. We ultimately replaced the esc and it’s been better since then. They do run hot!
really digging the build in this video, one of the reasons why i have a simular motor and esc combo. Im having some trouble tunning my throtle curve a bit, i was wondering if maybe you could help a fellow crawler out and iron out some wrinkles?
A couple of quick adjustments you can try are the low speed settings, punch, and max reverse. Increase the slow speed, reduce the punch, and reduce the max reverse. The combined effect should smooth it out
Any luck with smoothing out the slower speeds? Do you think the higher speed is at the expense of low end tork/power compared to the SMP? For crawling I want low ends tork and smooth throttle through the range. I hesitate when I see that jumping at a certain point. Thanks! (I'm almost caught up!!!!)
I've got it to a manageable place. I run it on low speed with the avatar and that, combined with some small tweaks to the punch and slow speed settings in the app seem to help. But I do think the jerky low end is the price paid for the rip roaring top/mid power.
@@CapeCrawlers Glad to hear it. They all seem to suffer that sudden jerk at one point in the curve. I thunk I read on MoFo's site, it's when it comes out of the FOC. I'm not up on what exactly the FOC does and how it works. Hope to find a vid from one of the fellas that explains it in detail. Great vid's! Binging more today so hope to be caught up soon.
Can I ask what type of transmitter that is and what kind would you recommend if I upgrade to brushless thank you appreciate the videos keep the coming!!
Have you ever tried a 5 slot motor combo on such a small rig? I noticed you were saying the slower throttle control was an issue. If so what are your thoughts 🤔

Hi Adam - great vid as always. Do all brushless motors require a different ESC from stock? Is it possible to do a brushless conversion for less than $50?
They will require an ESC upgrade. Going brushless for less than $50 will be a challenge. Using the Dinky RC esc would get you close, but even that is still ~$50 just for the ESC.
@@CapeCrawlers thanks for the reply! My Deadbolt motor burnt out so I’m looking to upgrade. Given the expense and mods for brushless I think I’ll stick with brushed. I’ll look at some of your other vids for recs unless you have standout recommendations?

3flow9rc front diff cover derelin skid should be on the front of that bad boy! Now in colors to match your build. Really nothing else like it on the market.
I’ll check them out!
difficult to mount the 3f9 diff skid on lgrp super8s when the diff is on the backside of the axles :)
@praetor47 bummer. I think they make a roller bearing steering link for super 8s tho. Forgot he had those on this build.
"foc"?
You're missing a screw on your front left steering knuckle.
I caught that after the video and replaced it 👍🏻
These guys need to start naming their cars, that's hardly an scx24 😜
Gotta call it an scx24 for the algorithm 🤣
@@CapeCrawlers 😂
well thats the esc then .
🤯🤟
Add me to the Brass servo crew, I may need a purple pancake too... 👍😈💜
Love that servo. It's amazing. Mofo is really killing it with his upgrades lately.
@@CapeCrawlers I seem to agree, I have a set of his new shocks that I want to test.
man , i got to stop watching your vids ..... its getting too expensive ....lol.....lol ....fuk it ........ lets gooooooo........... i got 2 rigs thanks to your vids ....great job .......
Haha I'm a terrible influence!
I'm running lizard pro furitek. Tiny.
I see you use the tegu esc…good choice!
It’s my favorite setup I think. Love the all in one functionality and the 8.4v output.
@@CapeCrawlers also it’s the cheapest one because of its size but a good deal with Bluetooth only $49 on Amazon I might get that motor thanks for the demo
your cheating! the inside of that build is way to clean! 😭😂 I got this motor hoping to be some of the first to get a video out but the day of filming it my laptop broke so I was scared to make the video. luckily, I got it up! not as soon as I wanted but it's not doing so bad!
This is by far my cleanest build! I watched your video, it was great!
@@CapeCrawlers YES!!!!! thanks so much! I have plenty to learn!
Grayce Route
You should get a 1/10
I'm going to. Just waiting until the weather warms up a little bit so I can use it outside consistently.
@@CapeCrawlers sounds good
