Excellent review Adam! It is so great to see Furitek ramping up the micro RC electronics market for high quality options! I’m looking forward to building a micro crawler with these electronics!
Bro it seems like I just put a message on here the other day about you having like 27,000 scribers a few days later you got 36000 I looked at a couple of your shorts and they've hit 100,000 150,000 and the Lord has really blessed in this channel
Wish Furitek would do some full RX/TX drive train combos at a bundle price. Maybe both types of their controllers with various selections of their receivers, motors and transmissions. Maybe a "build your own bundle" type thing for those that want to do a full swap over. Maybe if you're in touch with them, you could mention it for consideration. Or do combos from their YT'er sponsored players. Have a "Cape Crawler Combo" and others with their favourite set-ups all included at a special price.
@@chadhull2167 👍 Yep. If they'd give us a good deal on combos, with a choice of the Avatar or the other less fancy controller, plus rx and controller, it gets folks into the ecosystem. Then they'll buy more rx and controllers for their next projects. And likely, while shopping and getting that stuff shipped, they'll buy other stuff.
Look at the comments I just made a comment about you going from 27002 36,000 and now you're at 41000 that was five days ago you was at 36 man God has really blessed in your Channel
Furitek is changing so fast I have held off buying one until their own dust settles. Also as very unique as the out runners are, I believe the in-runners are way more practical.
Looks just like my 1/10 capra w the Fusion SE. they did it. FOC mode integrated w proper brushless power and all the torque from 0 rpm. Paired with the Slayer chassis I would bet that is now your highest performing micro crawler
Wow!! What a beautiful crawler Adam, thanx for the demo, I'm glad i preordered the cedar. Well i guess i have to order the slayer now! Awesome video Adam 👍
If the ESC heats up like that, i would think about running 2 2s. One directly to the servo and one for the esc motor, and bypass the BEC. they could be pretty small and still give lots of runtime w a motor so efficient
This is a great combo for sure! Oh and please give that rig a name so you have to keep it exactly the way it is now 😂 you're right the whole setup is an absolute weapon
@@CapeCrawlers If it's a destroyer, then it must be "Conan" .....'Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of da vimen....." LOL!
So I bought an Injora motor for my 24 Gladiator, my 1st motor upgrade, & it comes today, so stoked! & At the same time, I'm pretty nervous to get into it, kinda scared I'll f%$k something up.....I hope not. Lol Hopefully my rig performs better. Oh, & it's the one that is "tuned for rock crawling", which will help me a bunch. 🤙🏻🤟🏻
I'm running this combo on an Ascent 18 full injora build, with injora transmission. It doesnt feel that smooth to me on 3s, compared to my other furitek micro komodo setups. Any reccomendations to smooth it out? Or should I run 2s only? Your channel got me into crawling. Now I have 11 micros lol.
Just de-cased my python pro (unscrew then small flathead to pry; dw you won't break it if you're slow about it) and its completely swamped with conformal coating or epoxy or something. Good chance that its as water resistant as you can get (note that the electrical connections are still a point of failure). My plan was to try and put thermal paste on any thing I can (better than thermal pads which is what I figured they'd use), but the case is not acting as a direct heat sink. So best thing is gonna either be add little heat sinks to the outside, leave it de-cased, add a little fan, or some combination of these.
This is my one issue with Furitek. They make so many things so many motors, so many esc for the same platform how does someone figure out what to buy? Somebody needs to do a video how to make a simple for people just getting into the hobby to understand what they should buy for what purpose.
This! I can appreciate the innovation. But yeah. Gets overwhelming on what esc goes with what motor, goes with what receiver, goes with what transmitter, goes with what transmission, goes with.......
I’m having an issue after installing this combo on my Katana. Under load going over an obstacle the motor will stall and I’ll get a loud whine sound coming from the esc. Is this normal? I figured it could be a way to protect itself from damage under binds.
I’m a big fan of 1:28 scale minis. Looking into getting my first crawler. I loved this build. Does anyone have a full parts list? I watched your original build video and the tire video but still unsure on all parts needed.
Love your channel. I'm on the fence between the Cedar, Mini Komodo and Micro Komodo for my C10 SCX24. Which would you recommend? I'd get them with the stellar transmission.
I am having issues with meshing. I have a moforc transmission housing mount up to the furitek mount (red portion) housing. I notice that the pinion is slipping on the motor, does it need a new pinion?
I’m doubting the moforc housing as well as I feel I don’t the required freedom to position the motor since the bolt on the gear can interfere with the bolt that is threaded on the shaft.
Do you also sell these after building them? This is exactly what I have wanted for a mini crawler for the longest time. Been working slowly on my scx24 which is still mostly stock but with added weight and small aesthetic adds on top the JLU body
When you give it throttle, what is that? Sounds like stripping a gear sound. Is there something rubbing on something?. Or you're not running any Springs for the shock I see. It looks like a rubber band of some sort running from the shocks to the center of the servo in the front. Do they not make all will steer for these smaller vehicles?. Is there a restriction on how big of a tire you can use?. Is this a 18th? Scale & who makes this . What kind of option parts are out there mainly tires and what are the tires that everybody? It's using thanks for any help you can give me.
It ended up being a wire or part of my battery rubbing on the driveshaft making the ticking noise. I run a limiting strap up front to prevent the long shocks from unloading on inclines. They do make 4WS for these, and it's a pretty simple conversion. I am running 68mm tires on this now and they still work great. Any bigger and I think I would have rubbing issues. It's technically a 1/24 scale, made by Texoma RC. He has lots of different options for the chassis
im gonna go brushless on my build soon but i cant decide on a motor! the smp? or the mini komodo? or the creeper? theres just too many to choose from! is there any you can suggest to me? i defo need help. that cedar looks good aswell... especially in that slayer chassis thats a killer kit by texoma rc
It's hard to go wrong now. They are all great. Cedar is water proof if thats a concern. Mini komodo and SMP are very, very similar aside from the appearance. Creeper and micro komodo are also very similar. I have found the SMP/mini komodo to be the smoothest, the creeper and micro komodo have more top end, and the cedar is like a combination of them all.
@@CapeCrawlers Thank you very very much for the great advice i always get when i ask you anything. I will get the lgrp brushless kit with their remote/reciever combo, the lizard pro and the creeper with fitting billet transmittion and mount. for 170 bucks i think thats quite a good deal. Big thank you to you Adam. Your channel will always stay with me no matter what happens in my scx24 journey. I cant express how thankfull i am to be able to watch your content on a regular basis. BIG BIG THANKS from some dude on the internet.
Got this for a injora crawler build. Once I completed my build, tried to go in reverse didn’t work, already tried resetting the esc also tried updating the changing the firmware didn’t work. Anybody have any ideas?
I I have my Python pro in the mail to replace my Lizard pro that has been having major brown out. So question 40/70 amps through those tiny wires do you think with the volts so low that 70 amps would pas through with a fire? My real problem is my lizard hardly fit the Injora buggy chassis so this one is a nail biter!!!!😬🤮🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The power delivery of the cedar is very similar to the SMP. What you gain with the cedar is waterproof design and better cooling. The straight linear nature of the cedar is a slight improvement over the SMP but I’m not sure that alone is enough to justify replacing the SMP.
It won’t fit in the stock chassis. They will release a mount for it to fit I’m sure but the mount for the scx won’t work with the ax24. It hits the links and chassis rails & just won’t fit well. I tried lol
Ok, on there website they had a picture of the cedar in a ax24 with the furitek angry sparrow an I didn’t know if it would just fit in that or if it would also fit in the stock chassis.
@@bricebullard579 yeah it’s gonna need a more center mount for the motor to fit well in either honestly. I tried to cram it in the stock setup and it just wouldn’t. Didn’t try in my sparrow just because it’s pretty tight in it as well and I kinda have that one running exactly how I want lol
nice video! btw, will the Cedar fit in trx4m gearbox? would be awesome if you can make a video with Cedar+PhytonPro+trx4m. then compare with trx4m stock low and highspeed.
@@CapeCrawlers Awesome! cuz i upgraded mine with low range transmission for better crawl control. If this Cedar set fit in trx4m, it would have perfect low and highspeed. And reasons why I avoid using Komodo because sand prone to get in due to the outrunner holes. Anyway, looking forward to your video!
Will this cedar and python pro handle alot more weight with lots of brass. I do have the micro komodo and it can't handle the weight. I'm running low range gear set treal portal axles with brass portal ends.brass bumper mounts brass rims brass weights on the chassis metal bumper bars aluminium transmission case aluminium transmission mount brass high clearance linkages stainless steel drive shafts metal gears.
I personally have not tried it on anything other than the slayer. My sense is that it will handle the weight. The motor is strong and the Python pro can handle a lot of stress
OK thank you for that I just have to ask before I buy it because it's gonna cost me $401.55 Australian dollars so I just don't want to waist money if it won't suit the weight if that makes sense
I'm going to have to make a spread sheet to see how much it would take to make a crawler just like this. I rather do something like this than modify my trx4m.
Both are great. I prefer the Gladiator because, well I own a blue 1:1 gladiator lol But really it comes down to your personal preference. I think the deadbolt is a slightly better performer out of the box.

What bolts did you use to install motor to trans? Mine did not come with any
So you’re not using the receiver that the python has? Because I am a little confused.
The python is an esc only and not a receiver. You’ll still need to a receiver to plug it into to run

It is not
Is their .stl files available to print that chassis. that thing looks mean!!
Very cool how's the atlas doing that chassis and motor is a monster
