    I'm not an expert on outrunners but ran them in my crawlers for over 10 year and I'm very familiar with what they can and can't do. Outrunner can definitely run under water. They are extremely durable and have no problem running in dirt and water and I've also personally seen them run mud bogs with no problems.
    Tho, it is smart to clean them with fresh water after a day of seeing river/lake water and hit them with compressed air.
    Oh, lastly, most outrunners , crawler motors and drone are 14 poles with few exceptions.
    Always love your videos.

      Thanks for the info. I only know that Furitek says to keep the brushless outrunners out of water. :::shrug::: maybe it’s just their motors? Have you ran any micro brushless outrunners in water and mud with no issues?

    I have found the smoothest setting to be like Matt says off of to fmrc factory reset make sure it's updated and leave it just like that and it runs great I don't know about two-seater but all the motors have been since so far work really good like that

    Do you have an update on whether or not the FOC to non-FOC transition got addressed? (note: I'm only about 12 mins into your video so far... still watching)

    I get the same stall on my Stinger in my capra. What have you found is the best update to help that?

    • @TheShopMiniRC
      @TheShopMiniRC  Год назад

      I havent experianced a full stall in the Micro Komodo - Pro/Ultimate setup.
      The most recent firmware update is definitely the best so far and then, depending on your setup, you just need to tune it to minimize it. Lots of playing with settings will eventually get you to a good spot.

    Why are furiteks motors all 3800-4800kv. Wouldn’t they benefit from having a lower KV? I still don’t quite understand the relation between gearing, and KV. I’m gonna find out first hand with a BAM 1900 on my trx4m until the cedar is in stock.
    I have a 118 in my trx4m and I’m pretty happy with it but it only works for crawling with crane gears or so I’ve heard.

    • @TheShopMiniRC
      @TheShopMiniRC  Год назад

      Some of the larger outrunners are MUCH lower KV.

      Not true, they pretty much cover the whole spectrum when it comes to motors and different variations, the Komodo sounds like what you’re looking for

    I have the Gold Digger - how does the cedar compare with the micro Komodo that came in the digger? Crawl & top speed. Also - can the Cedar be used with the old Lizard Pro

    • @TheShopMiniRC
      @TheShopMiniRC  Год назад +1

      I mean, the cedar is much faster for sure. The slow crawl is still pretty good as I show, but I think the micro will have more torque.

    My Stellar transmission seemed to get really hot on 3s with this set up... I only ran a few min and I could feel it was warm,,, is it ok to run on 3s? I have it in a Meus Ripper

    • @TheShopMiniRC
      @TheShopMiniRC  Год назад +1

      You should be fine on 3s with a cedar. It does get quite warm though. As long as you can keep your finger on the motor for more than 3-4 seconds, you’re fine.

    sorry to ask a question that has nothing to do with this video but..where can i get a ..whatever you call that blue pad thingy? and also, is there some way to run your truck with your phone? it seems to all be there if they just did a few little things you could i think, the phone can talk to the thing, and your transmitter can too :O can a phone move your truck?

    • @TheShopMiniRC
      @TheShopMiniRC  Год назад

      There is a link in every video description to the silicone work mat.
      As for a phone to control the rc, you would have to get a special receiver to do that and yes, they make em. There are some DIY solutions as well. I remember seeing a receiver that could connect via Bluetooth and be controlled by your phone, but now I can’t seem to find it. Driving a higher end RC with a phone isn’t really ideal though, there is no real benefit over a traditional transmitter / remote.

    • @TheShopMiniRC

      Be sure you are updated to the newest firmware first off. That might help some. Could also try a smaller pinion.

    Hey Ken, great video. I'm thinking about switching up to one of these motors instead of my Komodo for the clearance. Also that top speed is just fun man lol. Just wanted to ask, any issues heat wise around the ESC running the speed for long? And will I need the Python? I have the Lizard Pro.

    • @TheShopMiniRC
