Makes sense, but they also coulda made the upgrade servo mount also have an rx box. Either way, I like options for sure so I appreciate the extra box. Just wish the pinion and center diff was better sealed.

The gens ace is the only one that lets you use the battery on a non smart charger, so it’s not really the same as the traxxas or spectrum. It’s by far the least offensive.

@TheShopMiniRC I understand the Gens Ace G-Tech batteries are the "least offensive", and, between any of them, they are the ones it's be MOST interested in. IF I was going to get smart batteries from any manufacturer, they are the ones I'd be most likely to get. But, in terms of being about to use the smart functionality if any batteries, you're forced into purchasing that brand's chargers, locking a person in that system. The second unfortunate side of it is (which I wasn't thinking about into later), not all battery types and/it batteries with specific connectors will be made by any one 'smart' manufacturer. For example, many of us with RC boats use QS8 connectors, and require packs with high (100C, and above) discharge rates. I don't see Gens Ace offering those in G-Tech variants...though, I'd really like to see them do so, as that would be a HUGE incentive to make the switch to G-Tech. As their G-Tech line of batteries increases, there's always the possibility.......

Thanks for sharing. The pre-release data sheet definitely didnt say 10k/20k cst... :-/ Also I just realized that the alum servo mount completely changes the orientation of the servo. odd.

@TheShopMiniRC they updated the website at some point with more detailed specs. The orientation may change to gain space for a full size servo. The original one seems to be like a low profile servo.

Nope… I seriously think there is an issue in my area. We have horrible signals of all kinds. Some day I need to try it outside my neighborhood.

@TheShopMiniRC Thank you for the response. After lots of reaearch I learned the type of cameras we have have a high latency. I don't doubt there is a lot of things near by you making radio noise. I live out in the woods also. It seems like all the good cameras with low latency have 2 components like the phoenix 2 it requires a base to connect to. Expensive though, I'm hoping Santa clause pulls through cause I'm broke lol

@ I can already tell I’m gonna love it I have the ascent 18 and love that little thing also I started with an SCX 24 bronco fully modded it out and then upgraded to an FMSFCX 18 K 10 which I still love and now I just ordered this thing and the FMSFCX 10 K5 and fcx24 k5 blazer pro just to check out the brushless system they put in that little guy haha. I have a thing for the oldschool model chevys they bring me back to my childhood for sure

@ and FMS has all the older generation grills for the K fives now so you can switch them out so I think I’m gonna do that to the FCX 10 to make it a little different from the FCX 24 since they’re both modeled after the same truck.

It’s such a blast!!!

Overdrive helps a TON in climbing vertical. It helps tuck the truck low and keep the front end down. I wouldn’t recommend going too much though if you do.

Yeppers. Never had that issue before. It wouldn’t let me rotate even before I hit “go live”. It’s because when I scheduled it a week ago, apparently I scheduled it vert and it won’t let you change once scheduled.
