This reminds me of how I also failed the oven baked chocolate chip and marshmallow smores dip I attempted w/o any directions, and from just watching the infomercial where it just slipped right out of the pan. It's like if it sounds too good to be true, don't do it. I tried using the soft caramels, and burned it as well.
Its much safer and easier to make the caramel separately. All i do is melt about 100gm sugar with a knob of butter (about 1 in, I guess,candvavlityle splash of water, cook for a few mins in a small saucepan then mix into the popped corn.
I think its possible if you doit over a medium-low heat, add more butter and let it slowly turn into caramel, maybe add som baking soda so activate the caramel, then put in the corns on a low heat :D Could also add milk but im not sure, bc of how the caramel is made :D But not as easy as 5 Minute craft made it to look
Try two sticks of butter with the caramel and put a lid on it. I seen one where they put a egg in the middle and stirred around it. Then put the popcorn in the bowl after with a scoop. I didn't understand the egg and was trying to figure out why they did the egg. After they took the egg out. Still not understanding of the egg.
My suggestion, make a follow up video explaining how 🤔very important it is,as well as successful if one makes popcorn as directed on package and then melt werthers and butter separately to pour over popcorn! Not quite as simple but phenomenal caramel popcorn
you may have better luck using a high heat oil for popcorn instead of butter. First heat the oil + caramel on low, then until its all melted, then once melted set to max temp (check with infrared gun) when it reaches 400 degrees F dump in the kernels. You want to make sure you only add the kernels in once hot, otherwise the popcorn kernels will not pop properly, and it will take too long to pop, which will burn the caramel further. You may still burn the caramel like this but with high temp oil it should handle the heat better. Burning butter is very unhealthy.
I have tried it yesterday and it was really good... But i melted the wethers first and then i added the butter untill it's melted as well. Then add the corn and put the lid on the pan. Be sure that you use a lid that fitts whith the pan and ventilates. Put the fire on low/medium and keep moving the corn so it wont stick to the bottom of the pan. Don't wait to long for the corn is finishing popping so it wont burn... Good luck with trying...
