That first camera angle made the cup basically invisible, so for a moment I thought Chef John was straining his bacon grease out directly onto his countertop like it's a batch of nachos or something

My 6 year old grandson is a bacon and popcorn fanatic, I HAVE to make this for him. I’m so excited, thanks for the fun idea. Oh wow, they might be customized for Halloween too👍❤️👍

These would be good for a party, you could put them in cupcake wrappers to 'pretty' them up a bit. I would definitely like to try one of these!

I felt so guilty, then surprised when he said not to squeeze the balls too tightly. Then he said don't laugh. 🙄🙄🙄
You can just pour it out in a lightly greased dish press and cut in squares. I usually do that for my kids and for birthday parties.

That caramel sauce is PERFECT for Danish sugar browned (caramelized) potatos which we enjoy with our Christmas roast duck and/or roast pork belly which some have at Christmas as well... The roast pork is quite often enjoyed as the Sunday dinner.

This sounds awesome. My favorite popcorn ever: Standard popcorn, but instead of just 2 TB of melted butter with salt, 2 TB melted butter and maybe a teaspoon of high quality bacon fat, from really good bacon. So delicious.
Bacon coupled with anything sweet is just straight up AMAZING!!

I can remember making popcorn balls when I was a kid. My mom would invite the kids on the block over and we would pull our own taffy and help make the popcorn balls. We would always give out popcorn balls at Halloween. Good memories!
