yup - hwich is why there is a note on the video that says "Oops I meant sweetened condensed milk" on screen at the same time. The printable recipe is here ashleemarie.com/caramel-popcorn-balls/
Recipe calls for condensed milk and your saying evaporated.. looks more like condensed to me. Now I'm stuck, which one is it? Condensed or evaporated? Helppp
I made these Carmel popcorn balls last year and food colored them for Halloween. I’m making them again this week for Halloween and am going to add m&ms and candy corn!! Thank you sooo much for this recipe! I also ran out of sweetened condensed milk and I had to make my own! A very frustrating experience. Thanks again! I hope a lot of others find and make this recipe!!!!!!!!!!!
+Mario Garcia nope! when I pour it right over it will wilt the popcorn slightly, so I usually let it cool just a tad bit first. I just use a big block of caramel for apples, never thought to make it myself! 'll hvae to try it!
I want to try this recipe,I LOOOOVE SmartFood White Chedder Popcorn. But Can i use already made bag popcorn or is it best to use freshly popped popcorn??
Seems to be either baking soda or sweetened condensed milk as the secret ingredient but haven't seen one with both. I wonder which is better for chewy popcorn balls. I don't want crunchy at all. Chewy all the way
I would recommend doing it the day of, or maybe the day before, because it is a soft caramel the popcorn will get soggy and it is not as good, If you want it to last for longer you should use a crunchy caramel popcorn recipe.
What where the measurements of all the ingredients and does it matter which butter you use? Also can you add food coloring to make them red? It's for my daughters bday party.! Thank you
+Jelyn Tataro the sweetened condensed milk that I pour in after it's boiled? (I accidentally said evaporated milk, oops) or the karo light corn syrup that I pour right onto the sugar and butter?
Okay thanks!! I'll do a test batch and see how long they will last. Great thing...it's not super expensive to make! :) It's pretty humid here in VA most of the summer. Appreciate your response so quickly!
You have become one of my favorite youtuber now. Love your energy and of course the hair color 😊 if you come to my country in Bangladesh I'd love to Host you and do a join venture cooking classes with you here. Keep them coming. Best.
I made this recipe today with mini marshmallows, I had to throw everything out because the mixture was hot and the popcorn was soggy. should I let this cool 😎 before adding the caramel?.
no you can't skip it's actually a very important part of the recipe. Here is a homemade sweetened condensed milk addapinch.com/homemade-sweetened-condensed-milk-recipe/
Hy l am one of your subscribers how Earl can l do this , like l am doing a party on a Saturday like today is Monday how early can I do the popcorn balls
Just made these. My family couldn't eat them, there was too much carmel, not enough pop corn. I would either make double batch of popcorn, or half batch the ingredients. But now I know. cute video though, perhaps tell the viewer the measurments on the video, so we don't have to hunt for the recipe. Thanks X
+Betsy Kappius I'm sorry to hear that, for the balls to hold together you need more caramel, plus if you pour it over too hot it will shrink some of the popped kernels. But yes, if I'm just eating it more popcorn for sure.
Would be nice if you included the full recipe or measurements while you were showing how it was done. I'm new to u tube so not familiar on going on a scavanger hunt to find exact measurements that could've easily been told. Would've loved to try it but I limit myself to videos that show measurements.
The recipes are in the description box, just click "show more". If you want a printable version it's on my blog. ashleemarie.com/caramel-popcorn-balls/
I like to buy one of those aluminum turkey roasters and mix my caramel popcorn in it. Way less messy and I can throw it away or wash it and use it for my thanksgiving turkey.
Soo good! I food colored the balls and made them for Halloween! I’m about to make some more for Halloween and add m&ms and candy corn in them! Thank you for this recipe. The only thing is that I wish you would have said the measurements during our video, but that’s okay! I’ll just click on the link! Thanks again!! Sooo delicious!!
yep I said the wrong thing, but the recipe is right in the description box and on the blog. Wish there was an easy way to change it but I didn't notice it until after it was uploaded and had started doing well - ugh!
the instructions in the description box and the printable recipe on my blog are both right - originally I had a notification come up over the screen but youtube got rid of that type of overlay so I can't do much more to fix it
These look delicious! Caramel is my favorite flavor.
+D Johnson I have a few favorite flavors and Caramel is def one of the top (chocolate, peanut butter, peppermint, lemon, coconut and caramel)

Yep I wonder if it condensed sweet milk
Loved you in Inside Out ;-) great recipe.
Haha thank you!
I use the same caramel recipe for dipped apples. except it reaches 248f. Question. Does this make the popcorn soggy?
+Mario Garcia nope! when I pour it right over it will wilt the popcorn slightly, so I usually let it cool just a tad bit first. I just use a big block of caramel for apples, never thought to make it myself! 'll hvae to try it!
Thanks great video, but that was sweetened condensed milk not evaporated milk...Big Difference there...
We can't wait to try it, it looks better than what we did before
Thank you so much, I hope it turns out perfect:)
That is not evaporated milk! It’s condensed milk which is sweetened
I saw someone else scoop the caramel popcorn on Saran Wrap squares then lift up all the corners together then form a ball.
Looks soo goog
I want to try this recipe,I LOOOOVE SmartFood White Chedder Popcorn. But Can i use already made bag popcorn or is it best to use freshly popped popcorn??

Seems to be either baking soda or sweetened condensed milk as the secret ingredient but haven't seen one with both. I wonder which is better for chewy popcorn balls. I don't want crunchy at all. Chewy all the way
Yes I am with you on the chewy part, just use less popcorn with this recipe and it will be gooey and chewy, that is my favorite way!
Can you use this caramel for a cake?
How long will these last out or in a bag?
I would recommend doing it the day of, or maybe the day before, because it is a soft caramel the popcorn will get soggy and it is not as good, If you want it to last for longer you should use a crunchy caramel popcorn recipe.
How do you get rid of the seeds?
here you go!!! ruclips.net/video/_7htrTJZd8w/видео.html

I use to have a candy thermometer, but ii don't how do I know if it's ready and how long should I cook it when it comes to the boiling stage.
That look like condense milk. And what are the measurements?
Had to hunt out my favorite popcorn. My mom use to make these back in the day...wax paper and all❣️💖💖💖
Do you use salted popcorn? Do you use microwave popcorn ?
What where the measurements of all the ingredients and does it matter which butter you use? Also can you add food coloring to make them red? It's for my daughters bday party.! Thank you
+Vanessa Baltazar I have printable recipes on my site, I include the link in the description of every video ashleemarie.com/caramel-popcorn-balls/
Couldn’t you just give us the amounts as you’re adding them to the pan? Now we have to click to the the link, forget it.

+Jelyn Tataro the sweetened condensed milk that I pour in after it's boiled? (I accidentally said evaporated milk, oops) or the karo light corn syrup that I pour right onto the sugar and butter?
How long will these keep? Would love to make a bunch ahead and store them so they are ready whenever we want them. :)
mfeagan1980 depending on where you live (humid or dry) a few days, they tend to dry out and get hard.
Okay thanks!! I'll do a test batch and see how long they will last. Great thing...it's not super expensive to make! :) It's pretty humid here in VA most of the summer. Appreciate your response so quickly!

this video here ruclips.net/video/_7htrTJZd8w/видео.html shows my popcorn kernel trick (easier to see than tell - but it uses a cooling rack)

Please tell more about evaporated milk, what's that?!? :(
It is milk that has been processed to help evaporate some of the liquid and condense it slightly
