Brings back great memories. My mother in law taught me to make this over forty years ago. I miss her and now that I am diabetic I miss the caramel corn. Thanks for the memories and BTW I have a son named Riley also. He recently turned 38.
I am really impressed that you never lost a single piece of popcorn while stirring that full pan of caramel corn! Great job! It looks delicious. Now I'm sorry I gave away my hot air popcorn popper!
This is by far the BEST caramel popcorn EVER!! I have been making this recipe every year for 3-4 years now and send it in packages for a sweet gift every Christmas!! Thank you so much! 🥰🎄
Having two turkey pans is a good idea. Its easier to mix 1/2 of the popcorn each time in separate pans. You bake all of it in one pan but can move half to the additional pan to stir and coat. Plus, you can cool the popcorn faster using the extra pan after taking all of it out of the oven. - Great recipe and thanks for sharing!
That’s what I thought to do. I am making this recipe this year, I got a whirley pop so I already master the regular popcorn, but I am gonna venture to the sweet side this Holiday Season.
24th December 2024. This is maybe my 7th or 8th year of watching and making this popcorn recipe. I have a batch in the oven right now, in fact. Thank you. Watching and making your popcorn has become a Christmas tradition for me and mine. 13 years since you posted this and in that time, I hope you and your family are Healthy and Happy. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I have made several different kinds in this is the best one I've ever made. Everyone loves it and wants me to make it all the time thank you for the recipe
I find myself time and time again ALWAYS coming back to your recipe!!! Thank you sooo much for making this video! I've been using your recipe for 2 years now and everyone loves it! I've had requests to make it for my co-worker's baby showers and birthdays! Thanks Lee!
Hi Lee, I made your popcorn recipe today and I have to say is that it's so delicious and crispy. I used 9 tbsp of corn kernels with 3 tbsp of oil it was perfect. I minor change I did was to add salt and at the end I drizzled some chocolate. Thank you so much for your recipe. It's a favorite ❤
I think this is the same recipe my mom use to make my sister and I when we were growing up. When she passed away we looked through her recipe file and couldn't find the recipe. Thank you so much for this, I can't wait to make some and send to my sister for Christmas!!
I recommend watching the video but so that you don't have to watch it multiple times I have provided a list of ingrediants and instructions. Please like so that others can see. INGREDIENTS: Popcorn Turkey pan Popcorn popper Dark karo syrup Brown sugar 1 cup of butter Vanilla extract Baking soda INSTRUCTIONS: Put one cup of butter (2 sticks), 2 cups of brown sugar, and half a kup of dark karo syrup into a 5 quart pan and mix and set to low for 5 to 10 min Pop popcorn (2 batches) and put it into the Turkey pan Next once the sauce is ready put in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and a half of a teaspoon of baking soda into the sauce then mix until creamy and white (NOTICE: if you stir too much it will collapse) next coat the whole turkey pan with the sauce and mix until evenly spread then put it into the oven for one hour at 250 degrees (during that time stir three times every 15/20 mins) Finally stir for another min after taking it out of the oven
I will give a tip on how to get the Karo Syrup out easier and faster, Take a little bit of the butter and coat the inside of the cup you are using to measure the Syrup, it slides right out. The same thing can be done with Honey when you use it.
I just tried this recipe and oh my word, it is delicious. Thank you for putting this up. It’s gonna be a staple in our house now. I cannot express how awesome this taste. I’m gonna be sick here in a few from all the popcorn I’m about to ingest.
I am 26 and I loved cooking meals and baking with my mom when I was growing up they were some of the most memorable and fun times of my life I wish I could go back and do it all over again without changing anything

Making this tonight. Thanks for posting your grandmother's recipe. Helpful hint, bend the corners of the pan upwards to get more carrying space. Also, I measured out the amount of popcorn kernels it took to make your recipe and it appears to be roughly 1 cup total
