- I have no idea why but for some reason there are quite a few visual glitches in this video. I'm not why it's happened but it is nothing major and doesn't affect the video in any way.
Megadeth again everyone! I hope you like this video. I couldn't get my head around the idea that a song could have 11 solos in 5 minutes but they did it!
Here is my reaction to hearing Megadeth - Hangar 18 for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!

Dave Mustaine is the best thing Metallica ever released!! 🤘🏼
This is the most intelligent, ironic comment I have ever come across in my RUclips life. "Dave Mustaine is the best thing Metallica ever released"
Dude ..if you make a shirt with that ..I'll buy it!
Make sure you register this phrase before someone takes it away from you geniuses! This is great! Honestly!
I agree with Lizard of Oz patent that shyte and make a T Shirt lol that sir right there is comment of the day lol
Yes with the rest, copyright this ASAP! Dude! Epic!
I like the way you think. But you are right. Wow .
I agree as well exactly wow
This whole album is a masterclass not only in thrash, but in metal in general, pure musical genius.
Agreed... This album should be a national treasure. There are many who put Rust in Peace as the greatest Thrash Metal album of all time. However, there are those who will claim Rust in Peace as the Holy Grail of metal albums!
Yeah, this album is definitely one of a kind
Rust In Peace is my favorite album ever! 🤘🇵🇹
@@leftinashes Holy Grail of all albums, period....of any & all genres. GREATEST ALBUM EVER RECORDED!!!
Couldn't have said this any better. Marty Friedman is a guitar freak and Dave likes inviting guitar freaks to join him in Megadeth lol.
When you reacted to The Four Horseman, and you said "I don't think I've ever heard a song with two guitar solos" I said immediately "Just wait until you hear Hangar 18"
Also, he’d heard th multiple solos in ‘Puppets’, ‘Orion’, and I’m sure there more.
@riphopfer5816 yes that song too, but those would all be Kirk Hammet. Although I think one solo in Master of Puppets is James
@@riphopfer5816Orion has I think 4 solos 3 from Kirk, one from James and also 2 bass solos from Burton the bass solos are personal my favorite on Orion
Indeed 😁
‘One’, maybe? Has he already heard ‘One’? I don’t know, because , if he watched the video, I didn’t watch it. Can’t stand the music constantly interrupted with film audio. Blasphemy.
Dude there is no turning back when you start with this kind of stuff. This never gets old. You have bean metalised
I'm still getting metalised 35 years later 🤘😅
Marty Friedman is a beast on this album. The album art for Rust in Peace, was created by artist Ed Repka, who also did the cover for their previous album Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying? The artwork references the song “Hangar 18”, which is about a secret military facility that allegedly houses alien bodies and technology.
The cover depicts the band’s mascot Vic Rattlehead, wearing a suit and holding a glowing green object, possibly an alien artifact, in front of a glass chamber containing an alien corpse ..Surrounding him are several world leaders of the time, such as George H. W. Bush, Mikhail Gorbachev, Richard von Weizsäcker, and Toshiki Kaifu, who appear to be observing the scene.
This song is a great example of just how good Marty Friedman is, he and Dave meshed so well together, Marty really challenged Dave since he's clearly the same caliber of player, he never sounded like just a hired gun, their guitar dueling on this is epic.
"Poison was the Cure" is basically two guitars soloing all the way through.
That song is HARD to play right
I’ve always told people who are new to Dave that his vocals were so different and great because he sounds robotic and auto tuned but it’s his natural voice. When I first started listening to them, back when Peace Sells came out, I loved his voice. It just “fits” the music and subject matter so well!
He doesn’t sound robotic, IMO, at least during ‘In My Darkest Hour’.
I started with symphony of destruction when it came out. It was so different than anything I had ever heard before at the age of 10.
What do you mean I don’t support your system? I go to court when I have to😂
I have to be honest, I've never warmed his voice. It's often pushed me out of the music. Just too much of a nasal sneer. But that's personal taste. Objectively, Megadeth are a phenomenal band and the landscape wouldn't be the same without them.
I always felt straight up attitude in his voice and I liked it because I felt that way but would have gotten knocked the fug out if I’d expressed it, lol.
The back and forth between Dave and Marty at the end is phenomenal.
Question: What is the best song on Rust in Peace?
Answer: Pick literally any single one.
dawn patrol is the weakest
Answer : Yes
@jamesthomison4356 that's true but I always looked at Dawn Patrol as the intro to the title track.
@@jamesthomison4356bassline is sweet, though. Love it.
What's the best song on Rust in Peace? Yes.
I think "Dawn Patrol" is a hidden gem on this album. Whole album is amazing and in my Top 5 of all time.
Dawn Patrol? not seriously?
Holy Wars, Hanger 18 and Take no prisoners arguably the best opening to a metal album.
Loving your honesty, facial expressions and your journey. This music is such an art form, hard to grasp for some, impossible for others, yet it rewards patience and attention. You are on a wonderful journey with a great bunch of friends guiding you. We are all with you, as you remind us of how we felt discovering these gems many years ago.
Megadeth's brilliance in this era is unquestionable. They were technically the best and wrote amazing songs by the bucketload. Try to watch a good live version of Hangar 18 as you'll grasp the technicality far better. Just a shame you didn't go straight into Take No Prisoners - the album is exhaustive to listen to in its entirety, it really is that good.
Have a great day 🙌
The 2nd half of this song is as good as it gets if you love shredding electric guitars! The composition and arrangement is as impressive and complicated as a lot of classical music. Along with Master of Puppets, this album is widely considered to be a masterpiece!
IMO, Rust in Peace & Master of Puppets tied for #1 best thrash albums of all time! 🤘🔥
the best thrash album is the REIGN IN BLOOD. And SLAYER the best thrash band by far....
@@aristidis540 Slayer's solos might fit the songs, but I prefer Marty's style.
..and justice for all > master of puppets
ride the lightning > master of puppets
@@user-yn1sf9mq3z The songs are as strong but the production is inferior since Lars turned the bass down. AJFA needs a remix bad!
Pure controlled chaos, probably the best description of Hanger 18 solos 😁
Been lucky to see this like 3 times live with 3 different lead guitarists 😁 Poor guys when they had to learn all the solos.
Yessss!!! A pure Masterpiece of guitar shredding!!! Marty Friedman plays the first few solos though the verses and that first change up, then when that last change up comes, Dave kicks off the solos, and they trade off for the rest of the song!! Loving this Metal journey bro!!
I think you're ready for Ashes In Your Mouth, from their Countdown to Extinction album next!!
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Pauses and repetitions are something I definitely want in review and reaction videos. Of course! Keep it!
Its like a Guitar 🎸 Headbangong Bolero.....starts off slow, gets swirling and faster and faster!!!! Complete Mosh Pit CHAOS!!!! I Know - I saw this live with Nick Menza on the skins - nearly puntured my lungs!!! 🤟
They usually save this as the last song when they play it live. I have seen this performed live twice and it's always amazing.
Hey dude, me to. San Francisco and Tulsa. Fing Awesome.
me too it is always a treat, have made it to all of their shows here in Melbourne. i saw them on the world needs a hero tour as well back in 2001 and the played Hanger 18 and Return to hanger back to back. that was a blast!
1st song of the set. The last is always Holy Wars.
@satanlaffing quite possibly you are correct, I knew it was one of them last due to complexity. It's been a minute..or decades, lol
Full album review ??? Masterpiece of metal. This whole album flows together really well. The track after this starts on the same chord and kicks ass from start to finish. Take No Prisoners....
Fun fact the main chords in this riff are the same chords in Metallica’s Call of Ktulu Dave just strums the chords instead of picking each note in the chords
Melted my face back in the 90’s when I first heard this song (well whole album) 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Another great reaction Molly 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@ 7:40 I had the same reaction in 1990 when I was 12 years old. This whole album is a thrash masterpiece
Best band we have on this planet! Mustaine is a genius and without a doubt the most skilled guitarist and song writer in heavy metal history.
I grew up listening to Megadeth , they were the first metal band I discovered when I was a kid (I was 8) back in 2006. I was blown away by the solos in this song, and that's how all my metal music journey started .
Amazing song ...Train of consequences next 👍...Great reaction
Hellyeah!!! Youthanasia is awesome!
Their most melodic albu, very good
Glad u enjoyed Hangar 18 - It's just a brief introduction to Mustaine's amazing guitar skills.. (When you get a chance, check out more songs from 'Rust In Peace' album, either Holy Wars...The Punishment Due, or Five Magics!) 🖤🎸
he listened to "Holy Wars".
The best soloing on here is from Friedman, but yes - Mustaine is also very good.
The whole Rust in Peace album is a masterpiece, he should react to Five Magicks next
You say Dave’s amazing guitar skills yet fail to mention Marty. He literally carried this album
Some of the best stuff ever. Dave and Marty had some magic here. This is why most who are musically influenced preferred them after the other went on for commercial success. Not as many fans but true fans. Tell a “Stones” fan that their songs sucked and you’ll get your but kicked by a group of ol’ dudes. Same as Megadeth fans. True to the music and fan base. Do what you do and stand by it. Love the reactions and the channel. Keep it rolling.
Imagine buying this album on the first day of release, Going home dropping the needle on the record and just having to listen to the whole thing without going back to listen to individual solos ..., Because you can't.
Just taking the whole thing in and having your mind melted.
I was a very happy 16-year-old!
Their first 2 albums had the original lineup before Chris Poland left. Still my favorite 2 from Megadeth after almost 40 years.
Same goes for Maiden. I like the first 2 albums with Paul DiAnno on vocals and Clive Burr on drums.
Man, I can't wait to see your face when you get to Mercyful Fate/King Diamond songs!
Did I mention Overkill - Elimination?
Metal music is the pinnacle of talent.
Great Megadeth reaction. Full album reactions are definitely needed for the Peace Sells album and the Rust in Peace album. After hearing this song you know you have too.🤘🏻👍🏻
This album was such an influence on us guitar player's back in the day...I tattooed the radiation symbol on my arm 😂..but I also have Randy Rhoads (guitar god) on the other arm🤘 Ozzy's "crazy train" is another you could react to brother!
Ive been waiting for this
Great track, thanks, bro. I'm grateful for I'm broken too 🔥
Seeing your face at the point the song changed, priceless. I bet you were thinking, where have you been all my life? Hahaha
Great reaction as always. Look forward to seeing you Megadeth journey continue
Please react to some of these Iron Maiden songs. Or at least if you don't know which song to react to, I'll give you some ideas:
- Where Eagles Dare
- Caught Somewhere In Time
- 2 Minutes To Midnight
- Wasted Years
- The Evil That Men Do
- Stranger In A Strange Land
- The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner
- Infinite Dreams (just like Tornado of Souls, pay attention to, not the solo, but the song)
- Powerslave
- Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (this song inspired Dave Mustaine to write Hangar 18, for the solos)
- Hallowed By Thy Name
- Flight Of Icarus
- Fear Of The Dark (surprised you haven't reacted to this yet)
- Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
- Dance Of Death
- Blood Brothers
- Afraid To Shoot Strangers
- Alexander The Great
- Phantom Of The Opera
- Drifter
Fear of the dark live @ rock in rio 2001 music video is a must
is "Number of the Beast" and "Run to the Hills" too overplayed for you?
@@mattblatchley2061 They're still better than Invaders and Gangland. But that's fine. Because when Iron Maiden release singles, it means there will be better songs there.
Man i love this song. I am happy you picked this song.
I subscribed cos I wanna watch this channel blow up, and this guy seems pretty innocent and I want to stay to see him grow into a METALHEAD.
NEXT: FIVE MAGIC
(from the same album)
It will blow you away !!
Loving the reactions man wish you every success
About bloody time 😂
I want to say thank you! You’re bringing back great memories from great bands that I haven’t heard in years. 🤘😎🤘
So glad you went to the light and found metal. 🤘
can't wait!!! HUGE fan favorite, especially live I think...
I love that your viewers keep pointing to best era of metal!
Listen to Sepultura..."we how are not as others!"...😮😊
Musicianship at it's very best. Pure genius. Behold.
Yes! I knew this was coming! 💪
Dude, youre almost at 20k! Daaaaammmn 😮
So close!
One that has this chaos but also a masterpiece it’s “good mourning/ Black Friday” so many changes and riffs too, btw great reaction 😎
Thanks for at last reviewing Megadeth Hanger 18 🤘
The whole album is so complex and well written!! Nice to see you drop your jaw.... as i do every time listening to it.... and i´ve been listening since 1993... CLASS ALBUM!!
I laughed so hard at 9:55
Awesome reaction by the way! Keep it up!
Megadeth, King of thrash🤘🔥
Have you heard a band called Suicidal Tendencies? Check em out. Song called Nobody Hears
🤘🏼🤘🏼 very cool, young brother from another mother, lol I’m gonna check out your reaction history been watching you steadily for about almost 6 weeks now. Love your content keep it up.🤘🏼🤘🏼
Awesome thank you!
Soooo good!
So excited to see you react this one. You are going to lose your mind. I love the guitar.
I think you will dig Faith No More- the Real thing (zombie eaters/ the real thing- Surpise ur dead) Angeldust- (mid life crisis- caffeine- crack hitler- juzzlobber) can’t go wrong with songs from both these albums though. King for a Day as well
Mr Bungle is another gem band from the 90’s
I highly highly recommend the title track Dystopia off of one of Megadeth's "newer" albums, Dystopia. Absolute banger of a song that shows how much power they still have.
Megadeth is my favorite metal band watching your reactions are great i grew up on this
Pure controlled chaos- excellent way to describe the outro!!
I recommend Guarded by Disturbed the vocals are powerful the instruments are heavy asf and the lyrics can hit
Like your stuff...keep up the good work..saying hi from Germany..
the guitar solo of Lucretia (also by Megadeth and from the same album) is good too, you maybe like it
This album is a thrash metal masterpiece from beginning to end! There has been a lot of talent in the various line-ups pf this band but for me there is not a greater version of Megadeth than Dave, Marty, David, and NIck. I was fortunate enough to see those four together in concert about six times.
At that time, second Megadeth guitarist was Marty Friedman. He was well known before, because his musical skills. Lot of fans are saying, that this line up was the best in Megadeth history.
Great song & reaction.
Some advice for you. I don't know what camera you're using, but it's set to "auto focus" which means it's going to center focus closest to the camera lens, so every time you lean too far forward or back or turn your head the camera is going to try to automatically adjust and that's why you're losing focus.
If you have a "manual" option, put a placeholder where you normally would be sitting and at what height (another person, a stack of books, whatever). Manually focus on that, then you should be in focus all the time with all your subtle movements because you set the focus to where you'll be. If you move a foot or two away, the camera will remain focused on the point where you set it, it won't change, so if you stand up, you'll be out of focus until you return to position 1 (your natural position) then you'll be in focus again. 👍
If you want to broaden your musical horizons and at the same time do something very few music reaction channels do, check out the band Therion. I've been a fan since the late 90's ('97 i think_). No one covers them and they have a million songs! People will tell you to listen to Nighwish (and you absolutely should, but that's what every other reaction channel does). It's worth it, but also dare to be different!) Everyone will request Nightwish, but give Therion a chance, not only will you be hearing it for the first time, so will many of your listeners and that's pretty cool). They deserve the viewership. I'll give you a couple songs to start your journey.
These two songs are both great live, so I'll share some well produced concert footage.
Therion - To Mega Therion live at wacken 2001. This was the first song I heard from them and I was literally hooked by the very 1st note!
From the same show - "In the Desert of Set". Therion is as epic as it gets. If you're not convinced after hearing these, then at least I tried.
I saw that lineup of Megadeth back in 1992 in Newcastle and this was insane live. Pantera were supporting them on that one as well 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
YES!!!!!!! My personal fav of theirs
Love them! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great reaction thanks 🎉🎉🎉🎉great megadeth ❤❤❤❤❤
This is my favourite Megadeth song. By the way; I loved you in “Extras”
One of my top 5 Megadeth tracks, killer work from the whole band here. No let up from start to finish. You should check out the video its like a mini Sci-Fi movie. Have to admit tho trying to play this on Hard in Guitar Hero, never finished it in Expert, almost made me hate this one insanely hard. Glad to see you appreciating these bands matey. 🤘🤘
I didn’t even realise it was on Guitat Hero… do you know which one?
MollyBoyTV - I Think it might be on Megadeth Song Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Xbox 360...
@@MollyBoyTV It was Guitar Hero II. Spent way too much time playing those games😉 They had extra downloadable tracks for GHIII so maybe thats why you thought that.
yaaaayyy new videoo!!
Bro ,don't listen to the haters, I watch you for the reaction you make listening to some of my favorite music growing up.. Hope you are enjoying it as much as I did..🤘
Protest the hero - sequoia throne
🤘😎🤘
Also:
Megadeth - she-wolf
Who could've built this wondrous guitar epic? It could only be ALIENS!
Megadeth was my favorite band for 30ish years and still love them but The Warning have top spot. I highly recommend checking out Dust To Dust or Queen Of The Murder Scene live from there 2022 Teatro CDMX show. Three sisters from Mexico are the future of hard rock.
That's a banger!
Pantera - Heresy
Sepultura - Dead Embryonic Cells
Testament - Practice What You Preach
Prong - Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck
Power Trip - Hornets Nest
Overkill - Coma
me encanta el hip hop como el heavy metal y me encanto tu reaccion!
This album came out when I was in high school, and I still have a cassette liner signed by the whole band. They were at a local music store before playing an arena show that we went to that night. The album is god-tier for sure, total classic. The thing about this time period though, there were MANY bands putting out absolute banger albums that have never been matched. Sepultura, Pantera, Death, Carcass, Kreator, etc. Would love to see you check out "Heartwork" by Carcass... send you a bit deeper into the metal rabbit hole. ;)
Best metal album of all time, front to back flawless.
Dream Theater - Pull Me Under
Parkway Drive - Wishing Wells
Testament - Practice what you preach
YES!
I saw this live at the Columbus Ohio convention center attached to the Hyatt on high. Testament opened for Megadeth who opened for the metal gods themselves Judas Priest painkiller. That's a must react. Rock on bro. 🤟
Your enthusiasm for old school Thrash makes us old Headbangers proud 👏
That being said, I think you're ready for some EXODUS!!!
I suggest the songs,
Within The Walls Of Chaos.
Feeding Time At The Zoo.
The Toxic Waltz
Oh those golden days of metal. Rise of the big four!!!!
This album is one guitar masterclass. Dave Mustain and Marty Friedmann just shred the shit out of their guitars. AND the songs are great, too.
Marty Friedman with Jason Becker (cacophony) is awesome as well.
Yes sir !!
Likely not enough love relative to others to generate a reaction, but for your own self, check out the 5th band of the Big Four, Testament. The New Order was the "put them on the map" album, and Trial By Fire was the classic MTV Headbanger's Ball song/video that introduced them and hooked so many of us. You'll love it. Guaranteed.
If you want more Marty Friedman (and let's be honest, we all do), check out Cacophony, which is an instrumental band he was in with another insanely talented guitarist called Jason Becker, before Marty joined Megadeth. Start with their debut album, Speed Metal Symphony. Enjoy!!
When Dave and Marty have an argument the world wins.
Check out Darkest Hour. It's a "love song."
Marty Friedman kills this album! Amazing solo albums were released by him with a lot of guitar wizzardry🙏🏻
Hangar 18 is located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio
Definitely their top album. Watch their Holy Wars music video.
You rewind as much as you want. That pace change and your face with the grin says it all. Fuvking enjoy the music.....
