Here's my reaction to hearing Megadeth - Tornado Of Souls for the first time. I hope you enjoy!

As a old dude that grew up through the evolution of Heavy Metal...I almost envy you getting to listen to all this music for the first time..
I was literally just thinking the same 🤘
But as for an old school metal head.. TURN UP THE VOLUME!!!
I was thinking the same
Yes! This warms my heart!
You took the words out of my mouth. I just hope they realize how much Dave Mustaine shaped music for the next 20 years plus. Christ he even brought Alice in Chains on tour before they were big. Hugely influential
ive been listening to megadeth for 30 years now................the solo in this song still gives me goose bumps
Exactly the same. I preach about it to my kids on a weekly basis
I fly when I listen this and painkiller solo to. So good
Same this and Cemetery gates by Pantera. Best 2 solos in metal in my opinion
You've listened to megadeth almost twice as long as I've been alive
@cailean-sg9tu yes mate lol 😆 🤣
Still enjoying em as much now as I did back in the day
Good album, and Tornado of Souls has a *god tier* solo. No one (imo) quite managed to catch the feeling of how Marty Friedman played it.
You're right, although Bradley Hall does a pretty good job with the solo on his RUclips channel.
Agree
It’s not even the feel of it. Friedman got a weird picking style and it’s legit not possible to play it fast and get the feel unless your wrist is all twisted up. Marty makes it look ridiculously easy tho.
@@deaconj3406 Definitely. Both him and Chris Poland were incredible, unique guitar players.
Fun fact, Marty joined Megadeth on their Japan tour this past year and played this song live with them. He still has it
It sucks that Dave was kicked out of Metallica, but I'm so glad that he took his anger and frustrations and made an excellent band from it
right? it almost had to be done for all the music that was in him to get out...
Imagine how much it would take to get kicked out of Metallica in the 80s. None of them are saints, lmao.
we got 2 amazing bands out of it at least
@@Crom64 absolutely 💯
I think he wouldn't have lasted very long in the band anyways. James and Lars had already big egos, the band couldn't handle a third one. :D Getting Megadeth out of this on top of Metallica was a blessing for Heavy Metal, don't want to miss one of them.
Marty Friedman's feel in solos is next level. As is daves shredding in solos. And nick mensas drumming is phenomenal just a banger of an album man
The greatest megadeth line up by far
@@nevermoresmith63 Indeed. Unparalleled Megadeth lineup.
David Elefson RULES!
I hope the Japanese are taking good care of Marty and I hope he has a really sick looking throne to sit on. Made of guitars or something badass.
Don't stop now, MORE MEGADETH
Fr
Just as Master of Puppets is widely considered to be Metallica's best, Rust in Peace is widely considered to be Megadeth's best. Not a bad song on the album. Peace Sells is a previous album, but nothing wrong with working your way backwards with these guys. Hangar 18 from this album is another banger with incredible guitar solos and Dawn Patrol is a much slower, interesting change of pace song. Keep rockin man 🤘🤘
Once you've heard that solo, nothing else will compare.
Well shit we get Metallica and Megadeth back to back. Now that's a good day 🎉
Throw in some Testament and Flotsam and Jetsam then it would be a great day
@@scottspears9347 some Practice What You Preach from Testament would fit in well
The solo on this is regarded by many as being one of the absolute top tier metal solos of all time, it's absolutely incredible!
This song is part of the best album of all times! And the solo is a pure masterpiece 🙏🤘😁
Everybody feels that way about that solo!
The song "Wake up Dead" has one of the sickest drops in it.
It's even heavier on the Megadeth/Lamb of God version. Downtuned
@@TailgunnerATCwell they’ve been playing it down tuned the last 5-6 years (megadeth)
Marty's solo consider by many metal fans one of the greatest solo of all time. TOS is a true master piece. Like this whole album.
That Megadeth album can be compared to Metallica's Master of Puppets in terms of maturity of sound and is the beginning of the best lineup of musicians. in my personal opinion.
I think Dave is an underrated vocalist
Always loved his vocals and style. Not a bad guitar player either.😉🤘🏻
From Youth to Risk, especially.
His growl is perfect for his music
He is good in writing and playing. But vocals... I have to abstract
No one else would fit. Its his music and it suits him.@@fabiomotat
No one can play that solo like Marty Friedman. Ever
I highly recommend Wake up dead, it literally is just riff switches that that will blow your mind
One of the best solos ever ❤️
IMO, Megadeth is the angry little brother of Metallica. Just as talented but a whole different creature.
Megadeth is not the little brother...they are much more than that... MEGADETH is the FATHER of metallica.
The whole album is a masterpiece. I hope you react to all of them at some point. I’ll be waiting for 5 Magics
Do their new album “The Sick, the Dying, and the Dead”…. It is AMAZING!
Yes!
Next one.. Lets get The Symphony... 💪💪💪
MEGADETH: Intelligent Speed Metal.
Dude almost started crying during the solo, he was so shook! Amazing :)
You know how you had to go back and hear that solo again because it felt like it came from his soul....welcome to the world of Metal! That's how it should feel. I've been a Metalhead my entire life and I can't tell you how many concerts I've gone to but there's nothing like the rush, the thunder of being there. If you ever get the chance to go don't hesitate. Experience it for yourself. It'll change your life!
Dave is a genius, and this album is his masterpiece.
Megadeth and Metallica were my favorite bands when I was a teenager,
I'm over 50 and I still don't know which band I like more
I cried when i heard this solo at 14 years old.
Marty Freidman played that solo. He stands only 5 foot 6 inches, but he's packing a 9 incher!
Holy Wars... The Punishment Due, Hangar 18, Tornado Of Souls are all pretty equal you can put any of the three on the #1 spot from the album. 🤘💙🤘💙🤘
Spot on 🤘
Agreed, I love 'Lucretia' too though.
Five Magics in the top 3 for this album for me. Aww Hell, what am I saying, entire album is #1
@@josephbell7907💯
Personal preference but I put Lucretia and Take No Prisoners in my top 3 favs from this album but Hangar 18 is #1 for me.
Washington is Next.. is my favorite song by them tho. The live version at Musique Plus is incredible.
Please check out "The Conjuring" and "Hook In Mouth"
About megadeth, try to avoid the remastered versions of the songs, try the original.
This songs solo kept me going for like 3 months after the first time i heard it, and that was last year
You have to do Hangar 18. There’s like 10 solos in this song.
11 solos and like... 7 riffs
This is the greatest solo in metal history
Yep. Thats the perfect metal solo. Ever. Melody, passions, love, difficulty, emotion, technique. Long live Marty!
Great song from a Great album... EXODUS next.. Only Death Decides or Blacklist.
My last words - needs to be on your list, absolutely mental solo. Also one their much more recent, Post American world from Dystopia is worth a listen
Addicted to choas is a groove banger!!!! A must listen
The solo is my ringtone. Fun fact, Marty Friedman does the solo in 1 take, no repeat recording, no mistake, just one take and boom, mind blown.
I'd say, knowing Marty, there is no surprise!
Yes Rust In Peace is an amazing album. It’s like Megadeth’s “Master of Puppets”. You should listen to “Polaris- Rust in Peace” it’s my favorite Megadeth song! Hits so freakin hard.
personaly, i like polaris better then tornado of souls. and five magics is my favorite on album. and lucretia has better solo then tornado imo
We all knew of Marty Friedman before he joined Megadeth. Let me tell you we were all super fucking hyped. I have probably heard this solo at LEAST 500 times. Many years of admiration.
Now that you've covered 3 of the big 4 thrash bands (or at least you will have soon since I know you have Slayer coming up), it's about time to give the other member of the big 4, Anthrax, a listen. I'm pretty sure you'd love anything from the albums Among The Living, State Of Euphoria, and Persistence Of Time.
Ahh even a rap head knows the solo is a killer
Cryptic Writings was my first Megadeth album. 99 Ways to Die was my first Megadeth song. honestly you wont go wrong with any suggestions from your viewers here
Yesss..!! Tornado is a story, both lyrically and musically. Rust In Peace is a very intelligent record. There isn't a bad note on it. It's most certainly God tier like Master of Puppets. Five Magics, Take No Prisoners, Hangar 18 & the title track will literally rearrange your brain.
...and that solo is gobsmackingly good. Marty simply in a world of his own there 🔥
For another equally stunning guitar solo by Alex Skolnick - check out this live version of Testament playing Practice What You Preach from the Dark Roots of Thrash tour.
ruclips.net/video/ldHoNwqR9A0/видео.htmlsi=1kC9sJmf3ONsIV5Y
Again, God tier 🔥
Since your discovering Metallica and Megadeth at the same time, focus on Metallica Kill ‘em All. Dave has writing credit on almost the whole album.
Co-writes on 4 songs isn't almost the whole album!
Best stink/stank face in the business! Love watching your reactions to Metal Molly me boy. 👏👏 Should check out "Sweating Bullets" song and video by Megadeth you won't be disappointed. 👍
Time to break in System of a Down. Start with Ariels or BYOB or Spiders 1st. The most remarkable band of the 21st century.
As much as I love early Metallica, and they're still my favourite band, I think they got caught up in their own success and forgot how to make good music. Megadeth on the other hand just keep on evolving and making great albums. This whole album was on repeat on my CD player when it first came out.
Now you understand why we listen to rock music...don't take a genius..❤❤
In my darkest hour is a tribute to Clifford Lee Burton 🤔
Lmfao .your reactions are the best my son ..i lnow you like rap .the thing about this music is they can play instruments to the next level ❤❤❤
React to Avenge Sevenfold. Nightmare. You’ll love it
megadeth trumps metallica all day in my opinion which probably isnt very popular but megadeth are far more creative please react to hangar 18 after peace sells
Wake Up Dead, The Conjuring, Good Mourning Black Friday...so many great songs on Peace Sells-
I still think the crown jewel is Bad Omen.
Fight me.
You mentioned doing Peace Sells at the end of the video; I would strongly recommend listening to the original version over the remastered one as the drums sound insanely weak in the latter. It seriously detracts from the feel of the song
The only thing that I have always hated about Megadeth and made ,e not like them any where near as much as Metallica and other similar metal bands is Dave's horrible voice! He could have easily just hired a vocalist who had a decent metal voice but he wanted the lead attention sooooo...
Should check out the new Megadeth as well as the old.. The new is as good as the old.. Megadeth are one of the few bands that have remained good for their entire duration in the game.
Symphony of destuction❤ by
.megadeath
Dude, I was in Junior High when this album came out, and that solo still melts my face to this day! Marty Friedman is legendary!
Bro... Your reactions are genuine as fuck. It's obvious you're truly enjoying it and I'm so jealous of you getting to hear this stuff for the first time
Well said kidda..this dude is the best and truthful reaction man on the net 👏
Keep going with Megadeth. Also you should react to Slayer and Anthrax. Two other great thrash metal bands from the same era
It's cool to see a young person discovering metal music. When I was your age, Metallica was also my number one, but as one gets older and more experienced, one tends to appreciate Megadeth more... oh, sorry, Megadave XD. Maybe I can explain why. James isn't a guitar virtuoso; he can't play complex guitar parts. However, when he was young, he was insanely fast and precise in playing rhythm parts. He uses three fingers while holding the guitar pick, which gives his guitar playing power. His playing has the perfect mix of charisma, talent, and stage presence. He's not as much of a jerk as his mentor, Mr. LU. In the past, he could compose epic riffs together with Cliff Burton.
On the other hand, Dave is a rebel, extremely musically talented. It's a miracle he's still alive due to his past drug addiction. Mustaine creates, as he himself said, more jazz-like metal songs, which is why his masterpiece "Rust in Peace" is so diverse. On this album, there's a brilliant guitarist in the lineup who plays some of the solo parts. Kirk Hammet is just an amateur compared to him. I won't give you the name; find out for yourself, haha.
That solo is gonna live with you for the rest of your life!
Metallica may be the greatest touring metal band but, Megadeth is just as good musically especially when Marty Friedman was on point.
You’ve totally got that solo and understood it! It’s considered one of THE best guitar solos in metal 🤘
You know what is coming then boom well worth the wait awesome solo ❤😂😂😂😂
React to mayhem freezing moon pls. Ummmmm mayhem is ummm insane so this is a warning
Testament- The Evil Has Landed
2) Over The Wall
3)Rise up
4)Native Blood
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Disciples of the Watch and Souls of Black too.
React to Five Magics next by Megadeth!
Absolute banger. Good choice, sir.
Peace Sells was a much better album IMHO
Probably one of the greatest guitar solos ever
Marty Friedman Megadeth was the best Megadeth
I’m so glad Dave’s vocal style didn’t put you off. Back in the day people just didn’t get on with his “squeaky” vocals.
You have such a journey ahead of you bro 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I am happy aswell, I thought he wouldn't like the vocals but glad he does, megadeth really are a great band especially up to and including youthanasia
Testament - Return to serenity for me has one of Alex skolnicks best solos
Hanger 18 . but do the studio version not the video. just subbed to your channel . keep up the journey . 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thanks for the sub!
Great reaction! I say again Hangar 18!
Better than metallica any day ...end ❤
Time for something heavier!
Dying Fetus - Killing on Adrenaline
Fuck yeah, either that or your treachery will die with you
And there you have one of the best metal guitar solos ever. Consistently ranked among the best if not THE best
I can't hear a Megadeth song without imagining that the singer is a heavy metal evil wizard (in a good way) 🤘
You should give Marty Friedman and Jason Becker's stuff a listen. Cacophany or Speed Metal Symphony if you just want instrumental so no vocal
This solo is often considered the best metal solo of all time. My favourite Megadeth song is Holy Wars. So epic. It is masterpiece.
You must listen to hangar 18
One of the greatest solos ever!! Every song on this album is an all out banger!!
"Poison was the cure" from the same album for pure shredding!
How can you not like this mmmmmmm😂
Great to see you react to some Megadeth too! Take No Prisoners is my favourite song by them, its absolutely sick. Recommend checking out Hangar 18, Wake Up Dead and Symphony of Destruction too!
One of the best guitar solos EVERRRR!!!
In comparing James and Dave's vocals, I say James is a heavy punch while Dave slices and cuts. For me, The Countdown To Extinction album is peak Megadeth. Every track is fire on that one.
I'm not near the Megadeth greatest fan, but this is one of my favorites. Probably get beheaded for this but I don't really like Holy Wars all that much, but it's on my favorite Megadeth album
Agreed. I really feel Holy Wars is highly overrated. I'd take Peace Sells, Wake up Dead and Symphony of Destruction over it easily.
@@blitz3643 well, their transitions on it are hard to catch because there are none. Cryptic Writings isn't bad. If Metallica hadn't booted him they would probably be mediocre band. He just had the wrong sound for what they wanted to do, and thank God it was Kirk.
Can't wait to see you do "Peace Sells"
Metallica's whole career destroyed in one Marty guitar solo lol!
Metallica’s early albums were the shit. Some of their later stuff. Not so great. Megadeth has consistently put out good albums. That’s my opinion.
Yep. Metallica higher and longer peak but lower valleys than Megadeth.
That’s because Dave wrote most of the good early Metallica songs 😂. Such a legend
Fuking appreciate your enthusiasm and your perspective. Welcome to the world of Metal. 🤘🏼
That solo takes you to another dimension.
Yeah Megadeth is kinda rad
