  • that was my reaction to Megadeth - Hangar 18
    "Hangar 18" is a song by American thrash metal band Megadeth from their 1990 studio album Rust in Peace. Hangar 18 is located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, and it is speculated that an alien aircraft was brought there from Roswell in 1947. The song reached number 25 on the Irish Singles Chart,[2] also reached number 26 on the UK Singles Chart.[3]

    Rust in Peace is phenomenal. Especially if you're a guitar guy, this entire album is a wankfest. Lucretia is my favorite track.

    There's more virtuosity in this one song than in Metallica's entire catalogue (post Mustaine). Don't forget kids, there's a few videos now of Dave saying how it was only on Master of Puppets that his ideas, arrangements and riffs got stopped being used.

      @@rockypants Did you know there are two versions of "A Tout le Monde".
      The original is from the 1994 Youthanasia album. The remake is from 2007 United Abominations album and features Cristina Scabbia singing backing vocals.
      Both are good but I've become accustom of Mustaine's vocals. With that said...you 'll probably like the 2007 version

    I love Anthrax, Slayer, and Megadeth so much but its always the vocal work that makes me favor Metallica the most of the 4. Idk what it is because I absolutely LOVE the instrumentals and musicality of the other 3, but the way Dave, Tom, and Joey approached thrash vocals never seemed to be quite as masterful as James' approach. It's honestly Dave's vocals that usually make me genuinely cringe the most though, I just feel like the dude is so talented when it comes to guitar that he almost overcompensates when it comes to other areas of music like vocals. I just never liked how Dave used such a gimmicky voice that was clearly not even remotely close to his real voice. I rarely hear James' vocal work and think it doesn't sound like his real voice.

    • @rockypants
      @rockypants  5 месяцев назад

      yeah, although it's pretty subjective I really don't like vocal lines in Tornado of souls. It just ruined for me pretty damn good song. I haven't listened to anthrax that much, slayer vocals are kinda mid and repetitive.

    I love Megadeth but i don't understand why this song is a lot of people's recommendation for non metalheads to listen too out of the gate. Go with stuff like Angry Again their more radio friendly stuff to get use to his vocals, then stuff like this. If this was the first i heard of Megadeth I just wouldn't go on. I usually skip this song i don't know why it just never clicked they have so much better stuff
