    Amazing how United went from the embarrassing Dr. Dao incident...to now the darling of aviation blogs.

    • @alje311
      @alje311 2 месяца назад +6

      that incident also de-certified an entire police force. the airport police department have been stripped of their title and powers and they are just regular security guards no longer allowed to respond to calls on aircraft. Chicago Police Dept took over formal law enforcement duties entirely at O'Hare.

    8:41 haneda greatly expanded international operations in recent decades with the opening of the int terminal, it didn‘t „open“ recently, it‘s the older airport as well actually but just mainly saw domestic operations for most of the 90‘s 00‘s after narita was openend which was originally conceived to be the international gateway but as we saw in recent decaded travellers really prefer haneda‘s close proximity to the city

  • @seanh317
    @seanh317 2 месяца назад +4

    Great video! One small correction though. In the video, you mentioned “Haneda Airport opened a few decades ago.” But it’s actually Narita that opened a few decades ago in 1978. Haneda opened in 1931.

    I’m a united loyalist, mainly because Newark (ewr) is 25 minutes from my house, but they really do go almost anywhere I can think of and 85% of the time it’s direct. I fly a lot with them and realized something on my recent trip to Rome…I know they just ordered 100+ 787 of all variants but they need to get them quick as the 777-200 I was on was CLEARLY tired as was the 767-400 on the return albeit way nicer, you could tell it’s time….safe travels everyone.

    8:29 this one on the Japanese side UA always feeds to NH flights in KIX HND NRT and NGO. Looking at the GUM-YAP-ROR route it's also RPLL MNL bound UA192/193 RPLL-PGUM UA183/184 vs PR110/111 UA knows that they're in competition with PR on GUM/SFO-MNL routes.

    I am a 40 year Delta (almost exclusively) flyer.....these days I almost never choose Delta because they don't go where I need to go! Living in Alaska for 35 years it was easy to fly Delta because they were almost the only other airline besides Alaska that served Alaska year round. Now I live in Southern California and I don't mean LA. Delta is useless as I can only go to Salt Lake City so flying international requires going to Salt Lake or worse, Salt Lake to Seattle or Atlanta or MSP...its just way too hard to get out of the country.
    Delta flies almost nowhere in Asia except Japan and S. Korea...not useful. United flies everywhere. When I could fly Delta to Australia there was no award space in either Prem economy or Delta 1 whereas United not only had award space but much more competitive fares. In the last few years I have been having to travel to and within SE Asia and United is the clear/ only choice. I use a mix of award tickets and purchased premium and Polaris and I find the service to be excellent.
    My recent Delta experiences have been PSP-SLC-RDU return, PSP-SLC-SEA-SEL return. Not impressed although Premium select international was fine. Domestic first class was just , ho-hum. SkyWest first class is nothing. No food, nothing.
    So, yes, I also fly United internationally.

    • @theVhin
      @theVhin 2 месяца назад

      I am also a Delta fanatic, but you can't deny United's global reach. Don't even try comparing DeltaOne to Polaris. Delta has a lot of catching up with the international hard product offering; while Delta is still ahead of the domestic game (by a hair, since everyone is catching up), I will not be surprised that United will snag the title from them one day.

    Even though it is completely unrelated to the video, but the Copa Airlines livery on their Boeing 737 reminds me of United Airlines, except for the globe and their livery on the Boeing 737 MAX 9 and 8, so much so that when I see the wing view of one of their 737-800s, I end up confusing one with the other (primarily Copa with United). Of course, both airlines serve the New York Area from Panama City (United from Newark and Copa from New York JFK). Anyway, United Airlines has become the coolest full-service airline in the United States, especially with this announcement. This may be taken the wrong way, but based on the new routes launching, I feel like United Airlines is becoming the Turkish Airlines of the USA (which I’m here for)

    Title: How UNITED Became the LARGEST AIRLINE in the WORLD
    Actual content: Hey, here are some new United routes in 2025.

    • @Bartron-z2x
      @Bartron-z2x 2 месяца назад

      United is the world’s largest airline by passenger seat miles flown, the proper statistical measure. (Available on the US Government websites.) Delta makes more money. American has more employees and airplanes. Southwest flies more routes. There could have been more clarity, but if you look at the announcements, they continually add a lot of passenger seat miles!

    • @alexevert5457
      @alexevert5457 2 месяца назад

      @ okay, great.

  • @ljthirtyfiver
    @ljthirtyfiver 2 месяца назад

    They are the largest . Southwest flying a bunch of unnecessary routes, and delta having the most revenue means nothing when you’re in the business of taking people and things places . They have the largest fleet size now too

    • @Bartron-z2x
      @Bartron-z2x 2 месяца назад +2

      Delta has a profitable credit card and club operation and has a loyal following in several secondary market. Southwest need more routes because it operates like a bus line.
