This is simply the most complete video one could make about United. So good! I have lifetime Gold status on United, and no idea I could go to United Clubs for international flights, or that I could board with Business or First if flying economy. That’s wild, and so helpful. I really don’t need the United Club card!
Am I the only person who has to put this video on .75 Speed to even understand him? Why are people speaking so fast these days? The great speakers of our time knew how to speak slowly and retain the audience.... AND I am not 100 years old or non native speaker. GREAT VIDEO AND VALUABLE CONTENT: Thank you. (Typed slowly). 🙂
✈️ for the 5,000 anniversary points for keeping this card and having the personal one as well, does the no annual fee personal card count? The flexibility with Chase cards has been very nice and I wish Chase would do a business version of Sapphire Reserve for lounge access but the United Club seems interesting.
✈️ Nice summary. If you prepay with United, you can nominate someone for Global Status; the prepayment amount was changed from $50,000 to $75,000 for a year. So it’s likely the minimum spend is $75k. United also recently didn’t reunite big spenders on corporate accounts. Some people spending in excess of $100k, but on discounted business class tickets, weren’t invited back to GS and are now 1k. Lifetime status earning requirements weren’t changed in the recent announcement. Have you done a segment on that topic?
I normally fly United and my goal every year is Gold status. I also have the United Quest card which helps a lot (I charge all my estimated income taxes and property taxes on that card). The only other status I go for is Hilton Diamond. It really helps with upgrades and great free buffet breakfasts outside the US. If I am short near the end of the year I will force myself to go to San Diego or Gilroy or wherever for a week to get the 60 nights lol. ✈️
✈️ useful video. I am very close to Silver Status and have been considering booking a flight to get the PQPs needed. I am wondering do I have to actually complete the flight this year or could I book for next year?
as always, tyvm sebby........i have always thought that united had the most complicated status earning structure, and i still do......i have status with aa and ba for oneworld, and delta for skyteam....i have been considering which airline to get for skyteam status. i do like lounge access. how big a deal do you think it is that if you have skyteam status via united, that you cant use the united lounges domestically, except under certain circumstances, whereas you get in, with all the other skyteam airlines.
✈very interesting analysis. my take on this as a moderate traveler: hitting delta gold for this year and next year for the first time and will likely stay there for the foreseeable future. delta's changes made it much easier for me to achieve this whereas before I wouldnt even qualify for silver. delta gold status seems like a good sweet spot especially with no fee for flight changes and at least c+ upgrades on almost all of my flights. after seeing this video, looks like united silver & gold still don't seem worth the chase to me compared to delta silver/gold. I'm a little biased because united is one of my least favorite in the star alliance partnership, but all of the other star alliance carriers I've had amazing experiences with. Air Canada, Swiss, Austrian have all been top tier even above my experiences with delta. So far obtaining status with united would only be useful to status match with star alliance. Would be nice to see a guide to the much more valuable star alliance status! thanks sebby.
I like the United Chase Explore card got 😮 it earlier this year , since making a few global trips they gave me gold status recently. I am Canadian and do fly United / Air Canada often for personal trips . I do have the TD Aeroplan card in Canada but since getting the Chase card never used it again as it has forex cost @2.5% .outside of Canada 🇨🇦 Question would you downgrade to the gateway card after the one year free annual fee is over , the explorer card gives the free checked bag and 2 club accesses a year which is really always full since I never used it in my quick layover. . ✈️
✈️ . I live in a United Hub city and fly to smaller airports so it works for me and my travel style. I am less trips these years so some of the status perks with the CC work for me.
I would be forced into wasting flights without PQF’s because MLI requires nearly all flights to go east before going west where I want to go. (Chicago, Atlanta…etc). Two Hops and only one PQF
As a United Million Miler, I'm glad we don't have to requalify...ever. Lifetime Star Gold has helped us in the 17 countries we visited this year.
Nice!
I’m stuck with United or jet blue. Eyeing frontier tho. Especially if the spirit acquisition goes thru. And it should now that no one else can 🍆 block
How did you get it

Glad it was helpful! :)
Man, no matter how many videos I watch on United status… I still don’t get it. Great video, as always Sebastian.
Thanks for watching!
Basically just think of it as spending spend 6,12,18, or $28k in 2025 (ie PQP) on flights and u get the respective tier status for 2025-2026.
✈️ great summary. Thanks. Working on keeping status on United and delta and it’s not cheap
Thanks for the video. Unless something has changed, you do get PQF for partner flights.
✈Alaska, just made MVP just off shipping spend. Will probably make MVP Gold once I start flying next year too.

✈️. Fighting for platinum. Thanks for the video.
✈️Thx for the vid. My hub is EWR and I want to start building status so this came right on time.
Great video on niche topic. Thank you. Quick question sebby, does buying on united travel bank, apply the credit of United Quest 125$?
✈ very insightful and well presented. thank you!
I have the Venture card, don’t fly much so I don’t think there is an advantage to upgrade to the next card. Agree?

How to apply for one of the credit cards as a European citizen flying to the US at least twice a year??? I feel left out

Why not put that taxes on Hilton surpass and get 3x? And would be nice if United had a card like delta plat, 15% off cash price, everyday.
AND u get a free night cert after $15k on the surpass.
@@newagain9964 thanks for the tip. I appreciate it, I will look into that card!
Someone said that plus points can't be used on reward flights. IS this the case?
✈️ useful video. I am very close to Silver Status and have been considering booking a flight to get the PQPs needed. I am wondering do I have to actually complete the flight this year or could I book for next year?
You have to complete the flight this calendar year

Still many United planes don’t have in seat entertainment. Despite the elevated cost of the fare. Not sure about delta planes.

PQF includes partner flights with exceptions (Award purchased directly from partner or maybe other fares)... Otherwise good video

A PQF includes connecting flights. So 1 layover = 2 PQF
@ I’m glad you said this I actually didn’t know , I’m about to clean up this year now. Thanks for the info
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) switched to Skyteam and is not part of StarAlliance any more 😢
Why would they switch
✈️. Explain more about Polaris experience, please
Well, either I spend my behind off or just be satisfied with United Silver from Marriott Titanium.
Who wants to spend that much on marriotts tho? I guess if business is paying…fine? And United silver? Should be gold status
✈️
✈✈✈
✈
Yikes man
I dont fly United. I live in a nice warm place and fly others to Europe and SR Asia
