Hi Dominic, Thanks for watching… Visit your local automotive paint (PBE) supply store, and they can help you color match. RAPTOR is compatible with any solvent based color, including 2K acrylic solid color and mixed acrylic basecoats, and can be added up to 10% by volume (ask your paint supplier to leave out the binders if possible for best pigment density). NOTE: Acrylic basecoat toners tend to have high color strength so use sparingly (less than 10% tint by volume). RAPTOR cannot be used with water based, polyester, or enamel paints.

Thank You, Yes we used 2 oz of Colorado Red paint..
Is the gauge on the sprayer that comes with the kit adjustable for PSI or do I have to adjust my compressor?
Question: Could you not mix up one larger batch to just refill in between? Unless I missed that, seems like I would have the potential of getting two different shades. About to do this to my truck and wondering.
Keep filming this videos i love to vatch respect
PULE KING Thanks
Great video thanks I’ll add alil bit of thinners
How many bottles are enough to paint a Chevrolet Silverado double cab pickup? dark gray,
Parachoques y Mecánica Farmor We used 7, on the Jeep Cherokee, I would guess around 10. Thanks for watching.
When you spray each label do you outline at the door jamb then fill them move to the next one? Theres no build up where you start and stop? Just keep a wet edge yes and 50% overlap?
I was thinking about doing this to my YJ but I was confused as to how to add my own colors because their website has pre-set colors. Can you specify the kit you used from them?
Thanks for watching, you need to get the tintable kit and add the color you want. It’s fairly easy just take your time.

Hi Richard, we usd Rock Armor rear corner armor. See link below… Thanks for watching….

I want to do this to my XJ too. However I'm concerned I won't know how much I actually need. And how did you determine the job was good?
rob nyczaj we used 7 liters...
why didnt you keep back some of your thinners to wash the measuring cup out then add that to your pot
Robert King Raptor Liner does not use thinner, just hardener. Used lacquer thinner for clean-up..
Surprise you spay bottom areas first,is that recommend?
Hopefully do my Ranger bed and bumpers
Thanks
John Jude, just how we decided to start... good luck on your Ranger..
How many cans of paint did you use? Cost? Have a 96 Cherokee and need to spray the area where the plastic was and my Bush wacker flairs. Wouldn't mind doing the whole thing. Same red as yours. Great video liked and subbed
Hi Keith, Thanks for the subb...
We brought two kits, each kit has 4 bottles. We used a total of 7 bottles, which leaves us one for any touch up that maybe needed in the future. Bought the kit from my local automotive paint supplier and paid around $150.00 per kit. You can find the kits cheaper on Amazon. I have provide a link below.

Hi hey got my bronco 2 painted but need to touch up can you just shoot over the dried raptor or what cant find anything on the recoat, thanks in advance frank
I’m not 100% sure, my guess would be to sand and scotch bright the area needed repairing and then Reapply raptor liner.
How often should you clean the gun , seems people have a lot of problems with this and whats the right thinner to use , I`ve seen conflicting reports on what thinner to use , and as before Thank you in advance.! Frank
Frank Mancuso I use lacquer thinner to clean the gun when I’m done spaying the vehicle.
Did you clean the gun when you went to mix the next bottle?
@@TBUCKETMAN I didnt , I shot 5 bottles with no problems , the caveat ,I bought the raptor gun which I think gives a better pattern I shot the smallest stipple or setting 2 turns out . wish I could post a pic came out better than i thought it would Frank
@@frankmancuso4065 frank thank you for the fast response, I got the same gun, just trying to get the most info I can before I jump in it, I hate to say it like this but it’s easier to learn from other peoples mistakes:) I think yours came out awesome.
@@TBUCKETMAN I`m like you I asked 5150 MS and got my information from them but I did learn a thing about recoating or touch up if you will , after its done drying and you want to recoat , you have to use those scotch brite pads the red ones rerough the surface lightly and reshoot , also I used my compressor and got that light dust off before hand , 1 last thing they have the red jeep , I have a 1987 bronco 2 I shot it with Mesa grey raptor and black raptor on my mirrors , bumpers and grill . I bought James Duff bumpers . Have a nice day Sir frank
Nice video. Sorry if I missed it, but how big of a compressor do you think is necessary?
Hi Ginta, Thanks for watching, we used a 60 gallon 5 HP compresser. I’m not sure what the minimum CFM rating would be.
i have a inferno orange raptor linored jeep xj looks pretty similar haha that’s cool
Sweet, I bet orange looks awesome ... :)
My job came out with some parts shinier than others. Any tips on how to fix it?
Sorry, really don't know. Maybe someone will chime in... :)
The final color is identical like the chooses color or change?
Selected
Hi GVS, we used the identical paint to match the Jeep, came out great!!! Thanks for watching and please remember to subscribe…
Almost looks like aok hills/ pinions hills area?
Good Eye, Piñon Hills. Thanks for watching.
@@5150MotorSports I just scored a 2001 XJ. I'm gonna go with forrest green bed liner and looking at motivation videos.
Grew up in Big Bear. Graduated HESPERIA HIGH. I know them there foothills VERY WELL.
How many bottles did you end up using in the end? Wondering if I can get away with the 6 bottle kit?
We brought 8 total, but used 7 total.
How does it look today? Any fading?
Holding up great!!!
Can any red car paint be added to tint ? i.e , 2k straight red or. Base coat red ?
Yes, just make sure it an automotive type paint and ask the paint shop not to add any binders. Thanks for watching…
Where can got paint can I do my car under want do it like black good jod bro nice
Angel garcias Thanks..👍
What would happen if it had rained that day, if it got wet the work would be damaged?
Yes. Any water during the painting process will damage the paintjob.
The paint dries in a few hours. It takes 7 days for it to fully harden.
Any stripes or zebra effect? Did it dry smooth? Any tips? Want to try this
house machine no zebra effect, it came out good. May want to test spay on panels as we did in the video.
Have money and tools, but nothing like knowledge.
I wouldn’t spray outdoors, especially in a dusty environment like there, one gust of wind and you’ll have sand stuck all over the car. Suppose it’s not such a concern when spraying bed liner all over. London, uk
DS Rai That definitely a concern but when we spray we pick a day that has very little wind..
5150 MotorSports Makes sense. Thanks for responding. Stay safe.
did you guys use paint for the tint? great video and amazing view from up there makes me miss living out west.
Tylor Gearling yes. We use automotive grade paint.... Thanks
@@5150MotorSports in person did it come out the same shade of red as you wanted? I'm getting ready to do the same to a really bright color and don't want to be disappointed 🤷🏽♂️
fannin88 yes, we wanted to match the factory jeep red color, as we don’t want to paint the jams and is very very close.
Is there a guide or manual as to how to tint or color the liner?
Yes, on Raptor Liners web site. It very easy to work with... Thanks for watching.
I know it's hard to see on cameras but did it have any dull spots or tiger stripes?
Not really came out very nice...
Ok cool, thank you for the reply and the info. XJ looks awesome.
Looks good cherry bomb.
Donald Cothern Thanks for watching...

Most Car Owners: I dont want my paint job to have any orange peeling.
This guy: i want my car to look like a giant red orange .
No… orange peel and texture are two completely diffent results, in this case since the Jeep gets bush whacked quit a bit and we don’t want the paint to show surfaces scratches.
where do you get the paint from? i need to get some painted match to my xj and i’m not sure where to get it from and what type of paint i need. mines not a factory color btw
Hi Dominic, Thanks for watching…
Visit your local automotive paint (PBE) supply store, and they can help you color match.
@@5150MotorSports thanks you so much!
