"Now you're missin the bottle" I had to tell my dad that one time, on a road trip. 🤣 it looks cool! That covered in a nice way. Very forgiving of that wavy old hood. And the real test of the mesh technique you experimented with is time, right? Looks good so far! 😎
I am going to be Raptor Lining my '05 TJ Rocky Mtn in early Spring. Can you tell me exactly what Raptor Liner color you used on this hood? Also, is there a follow up video of the completed Jeep?
A really good repair and paint job. In March I bought a 1985 VW Vanagon camper (VW T25 here in the UK). Lots of work needed. I’m thinking of using black Raptor up to the body line level with the bumpers.
That mesh backer for the hood corner was a good idea because it should give the Bondo more of a mechanical bond then the usual 50 or 80 grit surface prep that it goes over
For as fast as we knocked it out, we are very happy with the results. It does need a touch up coat in a few spots but overall the body work turn out really good.
Looks great guys. What is the color exactly. It doesnt look like a standard blue. It appears to match my truck color and i want to spray it with raptor to closely match the existing color.
Love the bed liner guys and especially as it is my favourite colour! Great job on the complete application. Daniel is a vinegar helps to take the sting and heal the sunburn. Apply with cotton wool. Tony from Western Australia.
You guys are undervalued right now! Get some more intermingling with other better known channels and push to get noticed! Love the content and the energy!
i really liked this video. The hood came out great. I was very shocked how you fixed that dent and I bet it is going to hold up amazing. good job and dont quit!!!!!!
It took me a little bit to recover from the fist bump to my jaw. That does look good and should protect it from the dainty driving you do. :) See you next time and God Bless
Bondoglass would be a good addition to your inventory for the body of that jeep... it has glass fibers, is super strong, and is great for re attatching cracked or broken off fiberglass parts
@@carbonshocks excellent... it is basically marine epoxy doused with fiberglass strands till it's the consistency if asphault tar... love the stuff for 'glass repairs
I'm glad you posted this video. I'm currently spending my time off for Covid FINALLY getting my cj7 rock crawler built and I'm planning on doing the entire body with this same product. Very on point. One thing I've seen on most of the instruction videos, including raptor liners is you must coat all bare steel or filler with an etching primer. Of course they recommend the one they sell. Have you found this to be an issue?
WOW! I really like the color and like you said the texture covers so well. What size mig wire do you use and what are the settings for welding sheet metal. I am working on a 1954 chevy 5 window and could use some advice. I love your content keep on doing what you do!!Ken
we only use .35 and with the welder we use ( vulcan Mig ) it was 3 & d... whatever that correlates to. Id have to look i up for actual wire speed and amperage.

I might like to use this stuff in the future myself, can you share a link of where are you got it??? Daniel, 👊😉 fist bump for you helping out where you could with your church... I'm sure the sunburn was worth it!
What kind/ type of air compressor is recommended to spray on the Raptor liner. I tried using something cheap, and immediately I noticed losing air pressure.
The color looks a little purple on the video. But you guys killed it with the spraying it on very good job guys you should be very happy with the results
i am a bit surprised that Joe didn't hammer the dent and the pull hammer holes. must be a good reason he couldn't, like support structure or sumptin....... not a fan of body filler, but the tub is fiberglass, so... groovy!
there was no real way to hammer that dent out because of the support on the inside. a slide hammer may have pulled the dent out even more but it still would need a bit of filler. overall we're happy with what we did.
Hah! First time I've seen this used as a finish. And no primer needed. Looks cool! BTW, 15:27, Daniel doing his best shampoo model impression. Uh, needs work. ;)
Hey guys Kevin here from Australia. The body liner looks awesome. Could i say i liked this video to a point . You should have less time lapse and music. Explain things as your doing it . I would prefer to hear the sounds made by whatever your doing not blaring music. Hope this makes sense. Keep making videos your content is still great. ✌ Peace guys
Very nice. My grandfather used to do a bit of body work and I've seen him used expanded metal the same way you used that mesh. The Bondo squeezes through the little holes and "mushrooms" on the other side. The little mushrooms act as anchors so that the cured Bondo doesn't flake off due to vibration. Thick Bondo will do that if it is only adhered to the surface. When I saw all those drilled holes under the original repair I thought it was either a dent puller or they'd drilled holes in the hood for the same reason. Thanks for showing why they didn't just fix the hood the first time.
I was thinking for a while trying to figure out a plan and it was just a random thought that seems to have worked great! the Raptor Liner holds well so we dont anticipate it should chip or fall apart. The filler is much thinner than the previous attempt for sure so that helps a lot too.
Awesome 😎! I knew there was something different about you two! Why would guys work so hard to help other guys automotive dreams come true...
