Coolwalk has nothing to do with the Kia head unit, it's rolled out to the users in different areas and will adapt to the car screens when running. It's just a new version of Android Auto.
Noticed full view Android Auto (AA) Maps (Waze, Google) since 4 days in my present BEV (2017 Opel Ampera-e/Chevrolet Bolt). As there are no Infotainment-Updates available, it has to be a better Adoption of AA to the respective car's Display. Before there was a black bar at the bottom, now the menu-bar switched to the left border, and the "squared" view fits better.
i have a 2023 Wind in the U.S. and saw this as an option last week, i tried it but i prefer the condensed screen as it gives me access to other widgets...my biggest pet peeve about android auto is the drop down search window that you can't disable. I always have to reach over to collapse it as it takes up 2/3 of the screen. I'm really surprised google hasn't given users an option to disable it. i don't want people to see the last places i've been to every time i plug in my phone.
On android auto, tap on the Google map icon. The new update would turn your Google map from a split screen to a full screen. In some KIA models, there's an icon on the bottom right of the screen, where you can choose between a split screen, widget, 3 displays split screen, or a full screen.
I was wondering at first why you had the app bar on the left when you're in a right-hand drive country. I guess it was just for demo purposes of this video.
Hi Brian on a different subject what’s the service schedule on your car as some people on a Facebook group keep getting reminders after just seven months of ownership? I was under the impression it’s 2 years or 20000 miles
Hi Gavin,it’s 2 years or 20,000 Miles. My dealer would have pestered me in November if it wasn’t the case. I’ve seen their service department several times since. I’ve had 2 lots of warranty work done since November as well. When i bought the car i asked is it 2 years and they said it was. I also managed to trade in my 2 years remaining e-Niro service plan for 1 free first service so i won’t pay for a service until November 24( end of 3rd year of owernership)
I do not know if it's the camera refresh rate, but your screen does not scroll as smooth as mine in comparison. I use the motorola m1a and the scrolling is very smooth, cheers!
I think it might be my data connection out in the sticks (i was up on Gentleshaw Common making the video) or if it’s the Carsifi wireless. I need to test it with a cable.
I am in Australia with Ioniq 5. I normally use AA with Waze which unfortunately does not enable full screen. I tested Google Maps which does enable full screen per the video.

in my car "mercedes b class with 10.25 inch display android auto coolwalk is not displayed in full screen. will it be a matter of updating or is it a problem with the car? thanks
All i know is that before the Kia June 2022 Head Unit & Maps update AA would only display 2/3 of the screen with the 1/3 Android Auto blank panel. After that update you could turn full screen AA on with the split screen switch so in Kia’s case it was a head unit update that fixed it. I would be purely be guessing it may be same for the Mercedes.
@@vegawan4765 I’m aware of this software but i personally would not risk my 7 year warranty for it (or possibly not being insured because of modifying the car). Not that i’m against custom firmware for consumer goods that can make the items work better or extend their useful life but i just would not do this with a car. Not in the UK probably not in Irish Republic either. It is something that they do get in the US though.

Hello what is the latest update number for EV6..
I waited 15 months for a car.. Slovenija
Version 221223 (released early January)
Thank you
What software version do you have now for that to work?
From June 2022 onwards to the current 221223 (from December released in January)
