Yeah Im kinda annoyed about that. Mostly because in my Cadillac XT5, the exterior temp is displayed on the infotainment screen instead of the gauge cluster screen (like in my Rav4). So whenever I am in AA mode, now I completely lose my temperature reading and have to hit the weather app for google to vocally tell me what the temperature is. Before the AA displayed temperature would substitute for the cars temperature readout when in AA mode. I don’t understand how Google can’t get such a basic feature to work properly.
I liked that feature. My wife had a Galaxy S22 Ultra and Android Auto has always seemed more seamless in our 22 Tundra. My Apple Car play has never offered temperature and there are no ACP compatible weather apps.
Filming note: if your team were to us ND filters on your camera, you could manually slow your shutter speed to fix the strobing car light and strobing display issue.
I wish Google would put the navigation in the middle, also you can enable audio controls in the settings and move the side bar to the bottom where I find it more appealing and you gain a fourth app icon in doing so
That small Toyota screen does no justice for the full capabilities of the new AA update. It's begging for something at least 10" wide. That said, been enjoying the update very much in my Stinger.
I haven't been able to answer incoming calls for months. It shows the vall answered and live however neither I or the caller can hear each other. I always have to hang up and call the person back. Really irritating.
Locks up on a regular basis on my 2023 Grand Cherokee. Not sure if that's Google's bug or Jeep's, but in any case it's damn near unusable. I think it might be related to the fact that it connects wirelessly on this vehicle, but I can't test that because Google (in their peerless propensity for screwing up user interfaces) no longer has a setting to configure it to use USB instead. So it still connects wirelessly (and locks up regularly) even when I plug it into the USB. Very frustrating.
There was an Enable Wireless option in Android Auto app but the new 8.8 update removed it. Apparently if you go into Developer Options in your settings there is a toggle to remove wireless option
Hi there.. Recently that the speedometer has disappeared from the car screen on waze map.. I've gone into setting In the was app but still not showing on car screen. Can any one advice plz.
Still doesn't allow Fullscreen Navigation on my 2020 Subaru Outback, Bummer, thought Google would have remedied that by now. My Phone has the same size screen that is displayed in car.
Funny everyone talks about Tesla updates... Blah blah blah, yet my 2017 Chevrolet Volt with Android Auto is constantly kept up to date and I have control over all my Google Home features and more. Way better.
That's NOT True, I Currently have a 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid AWD Blue Edition. The options for Play, Pause, Maps, Library is on the Bottom of my screen. Menu Above, Maps & Current Song Playing.
SMH, these touchscreens in cars should just be dumb screens and the API should be standardized or open. Then you'd have actual competition between various "auto" apps.
i prefer the previous layout with the temp displayed and maps taking half of my upper screen. Currently using a 9" display 2000x1200 resolution and i have the layour that has maps on the left and spotify to the right😔
I bought a used 2020 Sonata. Never dawned on me it wouldn't have bluetooth since my 2011 Ford fusion that now has nearly 300,000 miles has bluetooth. Figured all cars did. Imagine my surprise. Can't get used to this, kind of ruined my enjoying having a newer car. Really miss the convenience of Bluetooth. My fault. Should have known it may not have what i thought it did
I asked to have the Like button on the same screen as the song playing. Now, you have to press the dot dot dot button and then press the like button. I don't know to to request this change to.
Can you do a video on why morons won't let me use android auto on my galaxy tab s7 fe i use it as all in one head unit set up in my truck and I'm not dumb enough to buy yet another device to make it work it is beyond pathetic that i can't
Please turn your music down while talking and explaining. It's nerve-racking. Almost everyone can see these android autto features. Please enlighten your viewers with unique info. Android auto sound quality is something very few people have noticed. It laccks base, and there is no way you can activate equalizers on your phone to affect the sound. The more premium your sound system, the more easily you can notice it. Compared to bluetooth, it's more clear but there is no base. And apparently Android Auto team don't give a sh.. to fix this.
Agreed regarding the "background" (background is in quotes because at the current level it's foreground) music - needs to be turned down a good 6 dB or so.
It's bass, not "base." And no, there is no issue with sound quality. But if you think there is, just use Poweramp or any other player that lets you have an EQ.
I have a 2016 Mazda CX9, and without the ability to use it as a touchscreen, this is actually very distractive... Cause I'm constantly looking at the screen to see where the highlighted focus point is on the interface... And with Mazda, kicking the knob like a joystick vs turning the knob moves the focus point differently, adding more confusion
Been using Coolwalk for a month now on my Pixel and it's great! Much more stable and the split screen is much better for music.
I noticed that the temperature is no longer displayed. I used to compare the car's exterior temperature with the phone's displayed temperature.
The workaround could be asking the google assistant
It's now only available in screens larger than 7-8".

@Juan Zingarello I have an XTS and noticed the same. You have to hit the home button button to check temp
1st world problems I suppose.
I believe there is a setting you can change to get the bottom media controls back for apps that are still full screen.
"Show quick controls for apps"
Seems like they just lifted the carplay layout
Filming note: if your team were to us ND filters on your camera, you could manually slow your shutter speed to fix the strobing car light and strobing display issue.

Cool idea having an Android Auto video!
Just keeps getting better. I like the new layout.
I liked this. Thank you!
The play pause widget when full screen is there. It’s in the settings. Please learn the system before bashing it.
That small Toyota screen does no justice for the full capabilities of the new AA update. It's begging for something at least 10" wide. That said, been enjoying the update very much in my Stinger.
When you start playing music, a little music navigation widget will appear beneath the map
Thank you so much. Really appreciated.
You can also swipe off the top right 3rd panel if you don't want to wait for it to go away on it's own.
Did they fix the issue the RUclips music is blasting off right away?
nope
I haven't been able to answer incoming calls for months. It shows the vall answered and live however neither I or the caller can hear each other. I always have to hang up and call the person back. Really irritating.
Google never fixes bugs or even admits they have them; they just let users find workarounds.
I wished they kept the always available RW, Play, FW button. Now it takes much more taps and effort to pause/play my music

What is the weather and radar app you mentioned.
The smaller icons show up at the bottom of the screen as opposed to on the left for you.
How do you delete the search history in navigation?

Does that nean I can hear callers now when I try to answer incoming calls?

This is a seriously outdated version of Android auto, 9.1 is available to the public
I have 9.0.6xxxxxx how is 8.6 coolwalk newer than 9.0.6?
I was wondering that myself. 8.6 is old
I have 9.1 on the play store no beta, got it last week
So do I but it still is the old look anyhow.
Thank you for the video. Is it true that you cannot type directly on your phone an address on google maps after plugging it to android auto?
This new refreshed ui with your map and music homescreen looks like a copy of apple CarPlay.
SMH, these touchscreens in cars should just be dumb screens and the API should be standardized or open. Then you'd have actual competition between various "auto" apps.
Welcome to new AoAA channel

This seems to only apply to larger screens like that one. i don't have this on my Gen1 Kia Niro yet.
It's dependent on the phone, not car. You must have the latest Android Auto update downloaded on your phone to see the Coolwalk UI.
@@daweed980 I'm on a Z Fold 4. Is be shocked if I haven't got it yet
@@daweed980 I have it and it still doesn't show. But that's Google for you.
8.6?? I have Ver. 9.0.6 on my phone.
Same here. Mine is 9.0.6 on my older Samsung Note10+.
The update isn't tied to an app version, it's a server side rollout
9.1 is available on the play store, I don't have beta access and I've been on 9.1 for about a week now.
Same here, but it still is the old look, because Google hates Samsung apparently.
This update has been out a while, right? I'm not sure, I have been using this for a few weeks at least. Maybe accidentally part of a beta?
It's been rolling out for a couple months, but not everybody got it at the same time
Just used AA this weekend and still was the old look. Knowing Google they give the features last to Samsung because they hate them.
8.6? 🤯 9.1 is out to the public
Agree. This interface is old "news."
@@IvanRiveraStagea I just verified on the play store, version 9.1.631044 public release is available for everyone since March 22nd

Congratulations Google for copying Apple's stupid layout
Its what they do
