Generally yes, but their 12V batteries and ICCUs have substantial problems. Friend of mine drove EV6 GT and gave it back after enormous problems, now has a 5N and again 12V issues.
Here also already 100K with the previous model. There are definitely improvements, but I am still going to stay with my current one just for the depreciation. Already did this exercise when switching from my Hyundai Kona EV to my EV6. Cost me some money anyway, so am not going to do it again considering the upgrade now are not earth-shattering either but I definitely understand your feeling.
If you go into the settings regarding head up display you can activate the augmented reality setting which is the same as the previous model and works really well with the built-in sat nav. Showing large and clear arrows illuminating exits etc. Surprised Kia didn’t mention this to you considering you said the EV9 didn’t have it which it also has. Considering upgrading my 2022 EV6 GT to the newer model. And great you’re reviewing it to see the actual differences. 👍👍 great the Meridian system is much better as was a weak point. Plus now it has wireless apple CarPlay and Android auto. 🙏🏻
What I am wondering if you know is If the new HUD supports 3rd party maps like Waze and Google maps. On a different thread the reply I got was that since the new facelift uses the ev9 infontainment system then 99% it does. However I couldn’t verify it so far..
@ the old one definitely doesn’t, but if it does on the EV9 and the EV3 then in all honesty it should. I would have thought the new Ioniq5 facelift would give a confirmation if it does or not? Be so good to have it though and preheating to chargers using other maps🤞🤞🙏🏻.
I wish you in general would do more into the autopilot systems in the different cars. How do they work, how easy are the buttons to use and finally make a comparison. An ev today without a very good autopilot is completely irrelevant to me.
Just heard today that North American 2025 Kia EV6 has NACS Tesla charging port moved to the rear driver's side, awesome as here in Canada the CCS 350KW chargers are few and we could see 10 to 80% in 27 t 30 minutes on Tesla version 3 Supercharger as Kia / Hyundia have improved the rear motor inverter to improve charging performance on the 400 volt Super chargers.
A perfect car includes Service by the dealer. Since the ICCU fails quite often, you have lots of stops with this car. Some wait 3 month for the replacement. Every 30.000km you entering the Deathzone. Now about 2 years ago Korea is not solving the problem. Don't buy a Korean 800V until they fix the hardware. Software will not cure. It will postpone the defect to the time after guarantee. Repaircost are high. 6000€ more or less.
Yeah considering Hyundai are recalling 145k of ioniq 5 and Genesis for that. They also already recalled ev6 for ICCU problems which still havnt fixed it for many.
Can you make a mark when the sound test starts and stops. It’s not that important for me and it would make it easier to skip. Thanks. Great video as usual ❤
From what I understand, Battery "physical" size and weight is same as 22-24 car, Butr the CHemestry in the battery increased size to about 84 kwh (I believe 82 usable), and most of the weight gain is more sound dampening. I'm waiting for this car to come on sale, and I want to pick one up (I had Ioniq 5 Limited ut that lease ended in July (I think car comes on sale in Mid January and should be in dealersx around February or March in US? I hope its here earlier though.
I don’t like it, not inside and not exterior. After Model 3 was released in 2016(?) I’ve loved that way to make a car. I got my own i 2019, enjoyed it from the first day. Then I got my Model Y in 2021, thats not a premium car, soundproofing is bad and so, but its a very simple and good car, made the way I want it. Its clean inside and simple to use, and for me autopilot does a good job, every day. And I can live with not so good soundproofing and not ventilation in seat.
Very nice improvements. KIA and Hyundai are doing really great work with their EVs.
Yea, but the problem is that they look more and more ugly (EV5, EV3, Inster, Ioniq 6, Ioniq 9). I rather trust the Germans in terms of design.
@@M-hq9xzRight. A turn-off for me...

@@M-hq9xz It keeps them lower on the list for car thieves = lower insurance costs
Inster Looks good @@M-hq9xz
looking forward to the 1000km challenge!
Really nice to see, that KiA was able to improve the biggest disadvantages. I really need to consider, to swap my 2022 EV6🤔🤔🤔🤔

When we got my wife her Kia soul I saw the ev6 and ev9 and fell in love 😅

Excellent review thanks. New EV6 9/10, Bjørn 10/10. 😉
It has battery preconditioning if u use the cars own nav system towards a Supercharger

The front has grown on me. And it makes the rear make more sense but I thought the rear was okay anyway
I am really lookign forward to 1000km range test. Ideally in spring/summer and RWD. May be the best of the best ?

Me see Bjørn posting video about interesting car, me push like. 😁
Hi Bjørn, could you please test adaptive headlights of this new EV6 facelift? Thanks!
Did the charge port move to the "right side"?
I'm curious, what would you make choose a ioniq 5 over a kia ev6 and vice-versa?
Really considering going from my EV6 to this one :)
Stop considering it
Really hope they actually fixed thier 12v problems. Massive recalls.
How many miles per kWh?
That input lagg. Personally, It takes the car completely out of contention

Waiting for Hyundai ioniq 9 test, that can be the best.
Waiting for present the Kia ev3

Byd tang facelift coming??
Great video. I like the car, but that dual tone black & white interior is a deal breaker. The new GT will be crazy...
The dual tone is an option
The tail lights remind me of the tail feathers of a peacock.
what is the battery type for ev6? LFP or NMC ?
NMC
nmc 88% 6% 6%
Nice car
This is not of the best looking electric cars ever imho! The design is just unique and beautiful.
But is it better than tesla or not ? 😅
Great tech. But still not my design.
Haven't you planned to go to THAILAND?? What happened
We're going
Live Stream soon again?

Looks much better now! The front finally fits the back design.

But the EV6 has more consumption than the huge Peugeot 5008e at pretty much same conditions, right?
Almost perfect italian style 🤌🏻 🤣

No rear wiper,no thanks
No need
The new rim design is awful
Front is just a Seat 😒
