re: "I want to change my wheels but afraid of losing Range. My GT Line RWD is my work car, home to my warehouse and back. 80% highway driving" no worries, while he changed the wheel diameter (+1) he at least kept the OE tire brand/model (Kumho HP71) so they're not going to be far off on rolling resistance since the car was benchmarked/tested with that model of tire to spec it's range figures. also, it's not like 20 inch fitment aren't offered as OE on both the higher trim EV6s and IO5s (which I believe is what you have on the GTL). if anything his quality wheel choice (lighter) allows him to come out at least EQUAL to what he was getting stock, albeit now with the personalized style/stance he was after. so long as you shop for a quality wheel (emphasis on the word "quality", ref name brand, ref Forged, ref Flow-Formed, etc) and can resist the urge to buy the "24 inch chrome spinners" hanging in the Tire Store window for a super cheap price...? then you'll be fine.
Thanks for the video and links! Planning to paint my calipers (Yacht Blue from G2) this weekend or mid next week. I'm not sure what I'll do next. Blacking out the logo does make it look better. Anything to watch out for when you ran the wires for the dash cam? I'm looking to add a rear and interior when I get my delivery.
Yeah the silver against the glacier white wasn't working for me. And no. Pretty easy to tuck the wires into the trim, esp around the windshield. The rear? Should be easy to tuck the wires all the way back. Tricky part is how to power them. Luckily the light/USB port is at the bottom of the front so you can't see it if you choose to use that method.
@@Emadifications It's powered using the same setup as yours. The only hard part is trying to get the wire through the trunk panel and drill a small hole but it's been a life saver against shady people.

I bought 20x9 Rohana RFX2 wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season tires 255/45/R20. They are supposed to be lighter in weight than the original stock wheels. I noticed the weight difference specially when using I-pedal. Would this affect the vehicle performance and regenerative braking???
Likely you may see slightly better range. But otherwise, less weight on wheels usually means less rotating mass, which usually leads to subjectively better handling. But likely you won't notice.
Appreciate it! I just used the same method most people use. Some take the calipers off, some spend a lot of time taping everything off, covering all the surrounding items and using paint. I usually use g2 caliper paint but this time I used engine enamel spray paint. Easier to apply with some patience.
Thank you! Apparently orders can start in oct or so. Who knows? It's cool. It's got some subtle bumper differences, as well, which look awesome. And I love the seats
Definitely an improvement to Black out the lower side trim. I never liked how the silver pushed into the black wheel arches. With those black rims you've got the car looking really nice
Love your content, so keep it up! Couple questions for you around your rims. I’ve got the 20” tires and want to upgrade my rims but don’t want the poke, I like the flush look. What specs should I be asking for? Also, did you show the caliper spray video?? Thanks in advance!
I did not film the caliper spray but I'm about to do my golf r so I'll film that. Same process. As for wheels? For really flush fit, I'd recommend 20x8.5 +40, or 20x9 +45. Appreciate you watching and commenting! Also, fwiw, after I lowered, natural camber took over and actually wheels don't look as poked out as before. I'm gonna do a 6 month video and I'll show it in that close up
Where are you getting the Eibach springs installed at? Because I was looking to get them at first but don't know where to take them to get installed? Also H&R just came out with some springs as well. Idk which one to pick. Your thoughts?
I didn't see h&r. Just found em (part number 28597-1) and looks like they drop 1.2F and 1R. Eibach drop 1.2 and 1.2-1.4 .. this is just based off what i could find. Maybe that will help your decision?
Phenomenal job love it. I have the same car and I want to do the same thing. Have you lowered it yet and does anything rub. What are your wheel and tire dimensions. Thanks again for your awesome content.
Hey love the video! Was just curious on your thoughts between the stinger vs the ev6? I currently have an 18 gt2 and was think about trading for the ev6 but am on the fence about it. Like if you could only have one what would you pick? Thanks!
If it's your main car, hands down the ev6. The stinger was a good car. But the daily liveability with the ev6 is so much better. The only way I would not recommend the ev6 over the stinger is if you take a lot of road trips or plan on it. Charging infrastructure is meh in the US. Doable, but meh. Plan on getting a charger at home. Also, the stinger handles better and feels more connected to the road, but the ev6 is just better overall. The interior is a world above the 18 stinger. Mine was an 18.
I really haven't noticed. The tires are tye same size as the ones that come with the GT line and the wheels may actually be lighter than the oem 19s. But probably not as aerodynamic. But I have not noticed much. 90% of my driving is city driving and we charge to 80/90% anytime it gets near 50% so we don't notice mileage much
They're fr Amazon. But I can't recommend them anymore. All of them have kinda wrinkled and also ooze out some liquidy greasy stuff when there's any heat. Don't get em.
Thanks! If you look on my channel, you will see a video of my plastidipping the rear trim to black. In the US spec, the bottom is just trim... no lights so no issues with blacking it out. The top light bar I didn't touch

Did you have to trim out a bit of the diffuser? I bought a very similar one with same sizing but 6 inches seems to be too much and a bit sticks out. I was also planning on using the double sided tape so I don't need to screw into the car.
I may have trimmed it on the inside a tiny bit just using a hand saw. I honestly oddly don't remember! You could use double sided tape. I'd just get the gorilla one from home depot.
@@Emadifications mine right in the middle sticks out a bit since the thickness extends as it gets to the middle of the arc (it's a bit more than the described 6inches) I guess I can trim out the ends and it would go further in
You should be specific. What do you mean by good and bad? Sound is subjective. Some people like overly loud bass, nearly no midrange, and ear piercing treble.
I'm not worried if the parts are "cheap". It adds a few accents to the car That otherwise would cost 4x more if some fancy aftermarket company made it. And yes my offset is a little low, causes a bit of poke. But it actually grew on me, esp after I lower, natural camber should tuck then under fenders a tiny bit. I've mentioned my ideal wheel size to make i flush, but I love my wheels so I don't plan on replacing them though.
I’m 19 making 55k a year, but I have no bills or debts since I still live with my parents. I plan on living with them for a while. It’s probably a pretty dumb idea, but Do you think I could afford this car since I pay nothing else?
You could... but I wouldn't recommend such a large payment. I'd recommend save some of that and get a Niro ev or so if you want an ev. I'd never recommend a 19 year old buy a 55k car but in not a financial advisor and I don't know your financial situation haha
it may look ok but from experience you are gonna be cussin real soon about those wheels as the first curb hit they will be scratched to heck n back... been there, she done that.
Never in any application has black wheels ever made a car look good. All that does is to make your car in particular look like it has huge black holes without anything in them - absolutely hideous look. The rear diffuser looks stupid - this is not NASCAR. I can assure you that if this was important on your car, KIA would have already added it for aerodynamics. It looks like a child's car. Your mudflaps are silly - I know you screwed up and added bigger wheels and tires and this caused issues, but don't compound the hideous mistake by tacking on stupid plastic to the body. The added black is an insult to the design language of the car. I'm old school and I'll never understand this need to black everything out. I understand this is your car and do paid dearly for it - enjoy it, but that does not mitigate how tacky your mods look and ultimately look like someone who is throwing bad money after good.
And I'm not asking because I want to rag on your car, but I am genuinely curious on what you drive and if you've done anything to it. It sounds like you and I are on very different pages of how to "modify" a car. And that's why this is a glorious world. Do what you want. @@Emadifications open pilot is an open source ADAS system that’s available to a lot of cars
it’s basically the diy solution that tries to compete with teslas FSD
Great video! What was the color of the Caliper paint you used?
Ford blue. Got it at O Reilly.
@@Emadifications lol thanks, just rewatched and saw you said it in the video, my bad
@@gambiti07 ha ha no worries!
Can you show video how to add spare tire 🛞 to ev6 or plug-in type without spare tire
Thank you
It doesn't come with a spare tire. And I've never used one of those kits. I'll have to look into it.
I'm curious what your mileage is like after all these changes that might mess with ride and airflow?
I haven't noticed any difference. I got almost 240 miles to a full charge recently on hwy driving... which is expected and what I've seen before.
First one I seen modified it’s fire
Ha appreciate it. Quite a few people have done wheels and stuff. Excited for lip kits and stuff
Well done! I'll be doing some similar mods to my Red Wind. Thanks!
Did the wheels affect range much?
Not that I've noticed. Everything seems similar.
Hey mate
Love what you’ve done…
How did you spray the brake callipers???
Seems simple and cheap and so effective.. love the matching sticker too!
Appreciate it! I just used the same method most people use. Some take the calipers off, some spend a lot of time taping everything off, covering all the surrounding items and using paint. I usually use g2 caliper paint but this time I used engine enamel spray paint. Easier to apply with some patience.
Nice looking car. That GT also looks so crazy in matter grey w the lime green accents. No idea when coming to US tho
Thank you! I agree. The silver esp didn't go well with the glacier white
I think any shop that lowers cars should be able to do it.
You're welcome! Just uploaded my lowering install video.
The blackout of trim and roof are the best mods. Black is always best.
I do love it. Esp the profile.
great work on you EV, Question: all the little extra power consumption. is it a BIG power draw from your Battery Range?
The lights and the camera? Not at all. In haven't noticed a bit of a difference. Extremely low voltage on those things.
Can we get a link to the dashcam dongle you were referring to?

That's the one I bought but looks like it's out of stock. There may be other 10-pin adapters for kia hyundai specifically.
@@Emadifications Ahh thanks for the quick response!
How did you mount the lights under the seats? Just the double sided tape?
Yeah. I tucked the wires and the double sided tape onto part of the seat bracket.
Any notice on the range with new wheels?
I really haven't noticed. The tires are tye same size as the ones that come with the GT line and the wheels may actually be lighter than the oem 19s. But probably not as aerodynamic. But I have not noticed much. 90% of my driving is city driving and we charge to 80/90% anytime it gets near 50% so we don't notice mileage much
Do you have to pay mark-up for the EV6 at the dealer?
Depends on the dealer. I didn't. Most did though. You really have to just shop around.
those wheels are heavy af
Maybe? But doesn't really bother me nor have I noticed a difference... Almost 3 years later.
Still waiting for mine
Any ETA?
Excellent stuff! Which cupholder liners?
They're fr Amazon. But I can't recommend them anymore. All of them have kinda wrinkled and also ooze out some liquidy greasy stuff when there's any heat. Don't get em.
@@Emadifications thanks for the (getting descriptive) reply
Have you installed the new dongle for the dashcam?
I have not but will likely do it today and do a quick video.
Looks good! How did you black out the rear line going from indicator to indicator on the back.
And how did you black out the indicator light? 🤩
Thanks! If you look on my channel, you will see a video of my plastidipping the rear trim to black. In the US spec, the bottom is just trim... no lights so no issues with blacking it out. The top light bar I didn't touch
@@Emadifications thank you! I will try to do it on mine when it arrives. But the delivery in Europe is so long at the moment 👎
how did you attach the side skirts?
Screws. Double sided tape won't last.
Do you think it is possible to install an original HUD after the fact ?
Honestly I am not sure. I'll have to go check if the dash even has the opening.
@@Emadifications As far as I know, the dash part is removable and replacable with a one that contains the HUD. However, I was told there was no cable support installed. I am unforunatley not so skilled in car mods to make that judgement. Saw you awesome video and thought maybe you would know something abot that. Thanks for your help!
@@RageCookieX yeah I'm not too good with electronics. Now I am curious if they would put Two different harnesses in these cars or just the same one and leave it not connected to anything. I assume there's also software to be considered.
@@Emadifications I tried finding out throug my dealer but they are not very pro-after-purchase installation of items you get through the accessory packages. I guess they want to discourage you from installing it afterwards - maybe even cheaper. Unfortunatley I have no idea on how to find out if this is possible.
@@RageCookieX I'll ask on the forums.
Where did you get your mudflaps?
I linked em in the description of the video. Ebay.
@@Emadifications mine right in the middle sticks out a bit since the thickness extends as it gets to the middle of the arc (it's a bit more than the described 6inches) I guess I can trim out the ends and it would go further in
Is kia ev 6 basic sound system good or bad?
You should be specific. What do you mean by good and bad? Sound is subjective. Some people like overly loud bass, nearly no midrange, and ear piercing treble.
@@JohnLee-db9zt I mean like the bass and sound quality.
@@ticoturunen8702 That’s all subjective. Depends on your listening preference and music taste.
@@JohnLee-db9zt Does the gt line version have harder/sportier suspension than in the normal model?
@@ticoturunen8702 Yes just a little
Looks good but I'm too cheap for the mods so I'll just buy stocks instead. :)
Ha ha referring to wheels?
Personal choices congratulations however cheap ebay parts on the body a big no also wheel offset is out by a lot
19 yr making 55k... such lucky kid. lol, if u think u can afford paying atleast 800-900 monthly payment, sure why not.

Mods get a GT.
Mod my bank account to be able to afford one. But also, mod kia's timeline to get it out into the market in the US.
Booo. Lowering it instead of lifting it! 😭
Ha ha i come from a very tuner heavy background. Lifting was not part of the plan on this car. If I wanted to do that, I'd buy something different.
Kkkkkk kia
I disagree with basically every single thing you've said. Like... everything.
And I'm not asking because I want to rag on your car, but I am genuinely curious on what you drive and if you've done anything to it. It sounds like you and I are on very different pages of how to "modify" a car. And that's why this is a glorious world. Do what you want. I can take your criticism but it won't make me change anything.
Woah woah hold up. Pretty sure this IS NASCAR.
Damn you got triggered off of this video 😂 You sound ridiculous criticizing his car on his own RUclips page. You hated it so much, you watched the entire video 🤣
