I have an 2018 Silverado 4x4. I just installed flow master series 50 with dual exhaust from cat-back with 3.5 inch black exhaust tips. I love it! Now she is awake. Gone is the resonator and flapper!

On my SS Silverado, I did stainless long tubes, Corsa Cat back, Cold Air Intake, Comp Cam, shift kit, torque converter, and Dyno tune

First thing I did with mine too. Cut it out and went with the American thunder cat back which has the flowmaster super40. Sounds 🦅🦅🇺🇸🦅🦅

Sounds good 👍🏽. I have a 2015 and been running a 14” magnaflow. Chopped out the flapper valve too. I’ll be getting rid of the resonator soon (on the 2015 its basically a garbage can on the back).

To fix that exhaust leak and still be able to take the pipe off you can get exhaust band clamps. They work great!!

I deleted everything on my Ram and it sounds so badass, I absolutely love it. I don't know if it's in my head, but I do feel like I lost a little low end power. As far as drone, I don't know. I don't really exactly know what I'm supposed to be listening for regarding "drone". Can I hear my exhaust on the freeway? Yeah of course, its a big V8 with a delete. Is it droning? I don't fucking know. I know it doesn't bother me. I wanted a lifted, blacked out ram that sounded and looked like a damn beast. Mission accomplished. When I cold start the Ram, it sets off the alarm on my wife's Yukon
That's actually sounds amazing compared to the 2.7l turbo

@@leeskithree so, I did a muffler delete on it. Sounded so deep and mean. One problem... cold starts shook the windows in my house and I leave at 630am every morning. Only a matter of time before I hear the complaints. So I went back and got a magnaflow put in. A little quiet for my liking but sounds great when I give her hell.

I recommend an electric cutout in between your cat and muffler. You can keep it quiet in the mornings and highway trips. Then open it when you want to lean on it. Got one on my 2013 5.3. Ran the 12 volt from an unused wire under the steering column.
Yeah I taped the resonators as an experiment and it makes it much louder in the cab.

Dude im a Ford F150 guy but i love your Silverado. The sound of your truck is so sweeeet. I agree about wanting your truck to sound good . I did a resonator delete and added a Flowmaster to my 2018 F150 and love it. I have no drone driving down the highway but when you get on it it gets loud. Wouldnt have it any other way. Sweet Silverado....

I did this to my 2019 RST a few months back. Next thing you need to get is the range technology DFM disabler. Make your v8 stay in v8 mode 100% of the time. You won't regret it. Makes the truck drive sooooo much better
Im in the process of doing this to my 2019 rst and the range pulsar lt to my truck, waiting on both to arrive now, cant wait. Could either of these void any warranty’s do you know? And does the muffler deletion cause any check engine lights to turn on?

Today I installed the cold air intake(cold air inductions) the same as in your newer Silverado. I also jst deleted the muffler along with the flapper valve. Best $60 spent. I have the 2021 RST 5.3. Love the sound!
How does it sound when it goes into 4 cyl? Do you notice it?
@@alexbenedict6800 since I've done the mods, I tend to have a heavy foot on the accelarator. When it goes into 4 mode it quits down once you are on the highway. But that cold start, that's when the neighbors will like you.
I wanted the 6.2 TB but all I could afford was the 5.3 TB custom. Still pretty sweet ride. Missing a few goodies but a beast of a truck. Love the 6.2. 5.3 is old reliable. Got the 6spd transmission too. Gas is crap but I keep telling myself I love the truck. Lol it looks badass

@@jeffreyjuneau1959 Removing any oem part voids that part of your truck so if you customize anything, just keep the original part incase you have to put it back on.

How much, do it yourself?
The flapper valve was designed and used by moonshiners and hot rodders alike. In old days it was a flapper operated by a cable which sent the exhaust through a muffler or open pipes when more power was needed. I built a camaro years ago which had a set of mufflers that when rpms were low exhaust went through the muffler but when exhaust pressure went up(more rpms) the flaps open and you have straight pipes. Now on a new truck in front of the muffler, I agree. Sounds like something to fail that you didnt need in the first place. Maybe heats the cats up quicker so the third cat could be deleted? Most things are about money and paladium aint cheap. Great choice, fine truck. Congrats and enjoy!
the flapper is to kill the wierd sound the engine makes when going into active fuel management (4 cyl mode)
even dodge does it on the charger/challengers

I just did the muffler delete on my 2020 trail boss and absolutely love it! Gas mileage went down only cause you seem to have your foot in a lot more!

The majority of trucks sold are not to people that want loud exhaust. I bought mine for the 6.2 and I knew what I could do about changing the exhaust.
That stock exhaust sounds sooo much better than the one on my 2017 🤣
Yea I cut my 3rd cat off and muffler left my 2 front cats so I wouldn't throw a code and ran 4" dual side pipes $350 at my local exhaust guy and he fully welded it all it sounds really good and mean when u get on it it's not so loud you can't think but sounds great

I also purchased a 2020 Trail Boss its even black . Mine has the longer bed and the lighter interior though. Anyway that was my first mod Flow Master American Thunder . A 6.2 lt. must be heard.

Its awesome!!! till it starts to wear on you.... The constant growl is too much.
I pull a boat and whole trip I hear this drone. I always have to speak loudly to my passengers.
I'm going back to the original factory exhaust so I can hear my stereo again and get to my destination without a headache....

the 6.2L def sounds better than the 5.3 but does quiet down a bit once it is warmed up... Inside the cab of my GMC, it is not quiet like that though. Also, the "flapper Valve" helps with exhaust drown during cylinder deactivation.

An upgraded exhaust will be my next purchase for my 2020. I purchased the C.A.I., as well as the JLC oil separator (recommend to you). Also, Range technology and Pedal Commander. My truck runs much better.

I got the elevation and I kinda liked the cold start on my with the regular set up but I think I might go with an exhaust but I also want to get a dirty max also but I feel like I'll miss the acceleration sound on the gas truck
