Yes, the perfume build was patched, but the ancient dragon lightning strike and impenetrable thorns build are still equally as powerful and honestly stronger than the perfume build ever was. So if you're looking to emulate this run on your own, copy those builds instead.

Hit 27k on the elden beast with ADLS with just golden vow and lightning shrouded cracked tear back in 2022. Still hitting the same amount if not more today, lightning incants are absolutely insane
@@ABagOfRadiation golden order seal+10 max faith and int will put incantation scaling a good bit above 400, those are the only two stats that this seal scales w and that's the one I use for my incantations on this char. Ik there's one to enhance ancient dragon cult incantations but after fucking around w it I think golden order seal is the way to go. Other than that I don't even have buffs beside golden vow and lightning shrouded cracked tear. Wear heavy armour so your poise let's you tank a hit or two while fully charging ancient dragon's lightning strike and you're pretty much an unstoppable AoE force
and dozen of hours of planning, collective mind with twitch, bunch of attempts every time, tools to plan... What he did is harder than just finishing the DLC, it is what makes this video cool, the amount of work done.
@@NizzyLDright so if you just got a basic strong build (which is much easier then all of this) and just fought the bosses it would probably take way less time overall and be easier as a result. If it takes longer it usually means it was harder.
@@moussesucreeYou can just go 50% of the way; everyone knows to optimize talisman, optimize weapon and which OP spells to use, that’ll 2 shot everything basically, which is far easier than what he did, but also far easier than a regular playthrough. Nonetheless, a regular first playthrough is about 25-35 hours, I’m sure this took less than that
Worth noting that the reward you get from the Igon quest from doing it normally, from the dragon priestess, boosts ancient dragon incants by I think like 20%. It does demand you be naked, though, and I'm not sure how well it would fit into the buff routine.
Additional problem: to get that buff you need to beat Bayle first. And Ancient Lightning Strike is only needed against Bayle, as we saw. So once you have that buff, there's really nobody to use it on.
@@lubue5795 You can get an alternative one from doing the "Domain of Dragons" painting which doesn't require defeating Bayle and afaik gives the same buff
Only reason he did this is cus that attack hitbox is the most bs thing in this DLC, there is basically no other guaranteed way to dodge it on medium roll
Just so you are aware, the rolling thunder was not nerfed. It was a glitch that caused it to explode on the floor. I tested it on Bayle after the patch to see what type of damage I could get. Without a fully optimized build, without full on min/maxing I was able to get 56k damage from one attack. They only fixed the attack so you lock on and attack closely so the attack passes through their body. It will only work on larger bosses for that amount of damage. Smaller ones I could only get 30k. That's with 80 faith/dex and level 20 scadutree, bloodsucking and lightning tear, perfumes talisman, lightning scorpion talisman, Alexander shard and dragoncrest greatshield talisman. Also wore Rakshasa armor for he extra damage. I'm certain there's a better way to optimize the build and buffs that I didn't use.
@@Batman_83 Would Flame do anything for you beside the stam regen? Since perfume is neither fire nor physical, seems like Howl would be the better Body buff since you're going for a glass cannon build anyway.
@jarlhenrik Yes howl is better for it. I learned that after I had switched builds. I know the build I had was not optimized. I believe there's better buffs than golden vow but I'm not very good at figuring all that out very easily.
The fix just made the particles vanish when hitting terrain, but they still go trough enemies so a big enough enemy will get hit by all the puffs anyway.
btw, the death knight armour set increases damage of the dragon incantations, the lightning ones, so beating bayle could have been easier if you had equipped that
Not worth the risk. He's using the Royal remains armor so that the blood sucking cracked tear doesn't kill him first. Death armor 8% vs Crystal tears 20%
@@LordRazer3 but he didn’t use the royal remains set for Midra, instead using the Alerich set for the extra damage, so just do the same, in fact, its easier since Bayle doesn’t have the weird pre-phase that midra had, so thats more time until the damage kills him

He's already playing with RNG because of how the lightning works so adding on having to do it in 10 seconds is again to risky. If it makes you feel better I'm positive he would haven ended up using the armor if he couldn't get the kill in a dozen try's. For the final one, there's an additional buff that I didn't see any mention of: The Death Knight armor set buffs Ancient Dragon Cult incantations by 2% per piece, meaning you get a free 8% dmg increase on Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike by using it instead of the healing armor.
There is a pretty well hidden talisman called “Dried Bouquet” which gives you a 20% to attack power when a summon dies, it’s efficient with the skeletal militiaman could be a nice addition to the buffs.
I was wondering when Bushy would upload so I could completely fathom this build after seeing Tor somewhat use it in his past 2 videos you've taught him well bushy, I could only imagine the amount of time it took to discover these builds but this vid is proof they're worth it. Entertaining video as always ! Quick note on the final build against bayle, there is a actually an armor set called the "Death Knight Set" which boosts dragon cult incants and skills by around 2% per piece, there is also the Dragon Priest form you get from using the Priestess Heart which grants a whopping 20% boost to Dragon Cult Incants (althought this might be a body buff not quite sure). Edit : Priestess Heart is locked behind bayle and that completely missed my mind lol.

Little funfact about the perfume build. I used it to try it's big damage before patch 1.12.3 and since I missed some of the items to do a proper one shot build I simply used everything I had without searching out other stackable buffs (I'm lazy). Doing so I found out that somehow the commander's stendard buff messes up with the aow of the perfume bottles and makes his hit box bugged, the rolling sparks aow simply does not hit the enemy for some reason

This video was super awesome (and cathartic to watch), I just wanted to note that at the puzzle tower in the Consecrated Snowfield you can also summon any imp ashes and that’s also a solution! I know that because it’s what I did, and I was confused when you just made them fight each other- I totally forgot that crystal darts can do that to imps because I never use throwables.
I absolutely love seeing Bushy get stuck and then coming up with a new build or way to optimize the damage. Loved seeing the Midra boss, it’s shit like that that makes me watch these. Great stuff!

Not only was the perfumes patched but before they were, the lightning one and the frenzy flame one did double damage "under certain circumstances" so they where even more broken. One thing I'd be interested in testing is the deflecting hardtear with the giant crusher, makes the counter do 80 percent more damage, that plus other buffing should do a lot of damage.
I'll say this much, when it comes to buff/stacking I really love the controller I play with. It's an 8bitDo I got on Amazon, what I love about it is the pair of buttons on the back of the grips, but more importantly I can basically set any button to anything I like. That includes the ability to program macro actions with specific delays between each input. With some fine tuning that can make stacking a half dozen different buffs as easy as pushing a single button and waiting for the cycle to complete. That can be taken even further with the concept of hotswapping gear pieces, because that can be relegated to a single button push as well. Theoretically I could probably lump all the buff stacking and a gear swap onto a single button if I really felt like doing that kind of thing, but I haven't decided to go for a "1-hit destroy the universe" kind of playthrough yet.
Ancient dragon lightning cheese is something that just keeps surviving patches. It's been there since the beginning, and it will be there when the last person uninstalls the game. We lost the perfume, but we never needed it to begin with.
Bushy, your challenge run videos are really a step above. I love that you go through a *very* refined and tightly edited version of all the pieces of the various builds!
Not as well known effect about lightning: when you use anything with lightning, it’s dmg is increased during rain or if the enemy is standing in water. Additionally if the enemy is standing in water, the lightning will have a blast radius effect, and spread out further. Can be seen with lightning infused weapons in arena’s with water on the floor. Increased dmg while raining can be seen on field bosses. Another effect caused by rain or water pools is a debuff to fire damage.
Just adding my two cents for anyone trying this build. The Madding Hand and Poison Hand both proc a stacking Black Dumpling/Mushroom Crown effect respectively and the buff maintains if you put them away after proccing. Plus they each only weigh 1lb.

Just a little minor correction around the white mask and Lord of blood buffs percentage, yes by they’re own white mask is 10% and Lord of blood is 20% however when you have both equipped it’s 32% because buffs are multiplicative, 1.2x1.1 = 1.32

the ancient dragons' lightning strike could've been further buffed by the priestess heart and combined with blue dancer's charm to get it more consisten because the priestess heart buffs ancient dragon cult incantations and you need to have no armor on to use it. And additional use of the heart while it's active will provide a 1 minute buff.

madding hand also gives a buff when madness is triggered, been using it with the talisman, ugly hel and howl on a lot of builds, making everything op. as always, very entertaining, love your dedication.
I nearly one-cycled Bayle at Scadutree Blessing Level 5 with ADLS. I got an impossibly good RNG hit as he was focused on Igon, and it took him down to probably less than 10% of his HP. Lost that attempt, and wasn't able to ever repeat it, but I'll always remember how cool that was.
About Dancing Lion's fire weakness, Lightning perfumes also had a bug where their damage was doubled sometimes. Lion has 40 elemental resist but on fire where it has 0.
Something I really appreciate is you going through your buffing process. Really let’s us replicate this but also gets me invested more cause I’m understanding how this is even happening
I've been eager to see DLC content from you from day 1. All we had to do was let the man cook. What really excites me is that now future videos can include all of the stuff from the DLC. Regardless of what sort of challenge run or randomizer Bushy does, there's now roughly 33% more game content to play with, 😁
There's also a way to one shot bosses get the red spiked club from an invader I think there are two of them that you can get ,one from an NPC and one is from an enemy drop ,boost them to plus 20 boost your strength to 60 and equip the jump attack talisman. Doing a jump attack with these two weapons stacks the bleed proc and you can stagger most enemies in the game including bosses ,want to make it even easier summon your mimic tear and both of you go unga bunga and your boss is pancake batter ,bring along your toughest armor set and watch the fun commence
amazing videos , as usual, regarding the information you give about the cracked tear, it's not really 3 minutes buff. It's a fading buff, so the first minutes you obtain more bonuses than the last minutes. Just to let people know

there is a talisman that boost your damage by 20% when a summon dies, put that with the skelies and you have a respawning damage boost, as long as they dont hit the boss
You see here's the difference, You *ACTUALLY* one shot them. One singular ability, one button press nothing else. So many people will say they one shot but do multiple attacks. This, my King, Has earned not just my Subscription, but the bell as well!

The Scadutree Avatar might have been easier with a turbo buffed bow or other projectile setup. He takes MASSIVELY increased on headshots compared to the body. A lightly seasoned Ancient Dragon Spear takes off like a third of its HP.

31:42 you actually don't need to have the imps fight each other, you can use the Imp spirit ashes as well. A lot easier than using bewitching branches or crystal darts.
fun fact to open the spiral jumps you dont need to find the stones that block it just use mohgs shackle besides spiral jump and it will be unlocked instantly without you searching for the stones

She actually has 0 absorption against fire and 20 against lightning, but because of the water floor those resistances get swapped. It was cool, but I respectfully disagree. The whole buffing sequence is pretty wild. Plus, torrent mount is used pretty frequently in fire giant.

Did you use any incantations or other buffs?
@Pitchfallis I used golden vow, erdtree blessing and flame grant me strength. Those are the only buffs I use aside from the crystal tears.

For the final one, there's an additional buff that I didn't see any mention of:
The Death Knight armor set buffs Ancient Dragon Cult incantations by 2% per piece, meaning you get a free 8% dmg increase on Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike by using it instead of the healing armor.
There is a pretty well hidden talisman called “Dried Bouquet” which gives you a 20% to attack power when a summon dies, it’s efficient with the skeletal militiaman could be a nice addition to the buffs.
I dont think it would count as oneshots if some of the summons got a few hits in

Also i dont think the effect procs until they are perma dead. So using a weaker summon that doesn't get back up would be more efficient.
I was wondering when Bushy would upload so I could completely fathom this build after seeing Tor somewhat use it in his past 2 videos you've taught him well bushy, I could only imagine the amount of time it took to discover these builds but this vid is proof they're worth it. Entertaining video as always ! Quick note on the final build against bayle, there is a actually an armor set called the "Death Knight Set" which boosts dragon cult incants and skills by around 2% per piece, there is also the Dragon Priest form you get from using the Priestess Heart which grants a whopping 20% boost to Dragon Cult Incants (althought this might be a body buff not quite sure).
Edit : Priestess Heart is locked behind bayle and that completely missed my mind lol.

This is wild timing I literally just finished rewatching the base game one shot build vid thank you bushy for your generous contributions
Little funfact about the perfume build. I used it to try it's big damage before patch 1.12.3 and since I missed some of the items to do a proper one shot build I simply used everything I had without searching out other stackable buffs (I'm lazy). Doing so I found out that somehow the commander's stendard buff messes up with the aow of the perfume bottles and makes his hit box bugged, the rolling sparks aow simply does not hit the enemy for some reason

for some reason crystal darts cause malfunctions in certain enemies

Hey Bushy! This video was super awesome (and cathartic to watch), I just wanted to note that at the puzzle tower in the Consecrated Snowfield you can also summon any imp ashes and that’s also a solution! I know that because it’s what I did, and I was confused when you just made them fight each other- I totally forgot that crystal darts can do that to imps because I never use throwables.

Not only was the perfumes patched but before they were, the lightning one and the frenzy flame one did double damage "under certain circumstances" so they where even more broken. One thing I'd be interested in testing is the deflecting hardtear with the giant crusher, makes the counter do 80 percent more damage, that plus other buffing should do a lot of damage.

I'll say this much, when it comes to buff/stacking I really love the controller I play with. It's an 8bitDo I got on Amazon, what I love about it is the pair of buttons on the back of the grips, but more importantly I can basically set any button to anything I like. That includes the ability to program macro actions with specific delays between each input. With some fine tuning that can make stacking a half dozen different buffs as easy as pushing a single button and waiting for the cycle to complete. That can be taken even further with the concept of hotswapping gear pieces, because that can be relegated to a single button push as well. Theoretically I could probably lump all the buff stacking and a gear swap onto a single button if I really felt like doing that kind of thing, but I haven't decided to go for a "1-hit destroy the universe" kind of playthrough yet.

Ancient dragon lightning cheese is something that just keeps surviving patches. It's been there since the beginning, and it will be there when the last person uninstalls the game. We lost the perfume, but we never needed it to begin with.
Bushy, your challenge run videos are really a step above.

Not as well known effect about lightning: when you use anything with lightning, it’s dmg is increased during rain or if the enemy is standing in water. Additionally if the enemy is standing in water, the lightning will have a blast radius effect, and spread out further. Can be seen with lightning infused weapons in arena’s with water on the floor. Increased dmg while raining can be seen on field bosses. Another effect caused by rain or water pools is a debuff to fire damage.

Just adding my two cents for anyone trying this build. The Madding Hand and Poison Hand both proc a stacking Black Dumpling/Mushroom Crown effect respectively and the buff maintains if you put them away after proccing. Plus they each only weigh 1lb.

Just a little minor correction around the white mask and Lord of blood buffs percentage, yes by they’re own white mask is 10% and Lord of blood is 20% however when you have both equipped it’s 32% because buffs are multiplicative, 1.2x1.1 = 1.32

The way you progress this challenge run was how I unintentionally did it on my first run lmao
the ancient dragons' lightning strike could've been further buffed by the priestess heart and combined with blue dancer's charm to get it more consisten because the priestess heart buffs ancient dragon cult incantations and you need to have no armor on to use it. And additional use of the heart while it's active will provide a 1 minute buff.
You can only get the heart after bayle, but the death knight set could have helped him
Blue Dancer only buffs physical damage not spell damage.

I nearly one-cycled Bayle at Scadutree Blessing Level 5 with ADLS. I got an impossibly good RNG hit as he was focused on Igon, and it took him down to probably less than 10% of his HP. Lost that attempt, and wasn't able to ever repeat it, but I'll always remember how cool that was.
About Dancing Lion's fire weakness, Lightning perfumes also had a bug where their damage was doubled sometimes.
Lion has 40 elemental resist but on fire where it has 0.

I've been eager to see DLC content from you from day 1. All we had to do was let the man cook.
What really excites me is that now future videos can include all of the stuff from the DLC. Regardless of what sort of challenge run or randomizer Bushy does, there's now roughly 33% more game content to play with, 😁
Say what you will, but "suckle my a-hole brother" is what got me laughing hard enough to subscribe.
There's also a way to one shot bosses get the red spiked club from an invader I think there are two of them that you can get ,one from an NPC and one is from an enemy drop ,boost them to plus 20 boost your strength to 60 and equip the jump attack talisman. Doing a jump attack with these two weapons stacks the bleed proc and you can stagger most enemies in the game including bosses ,want to make it even easier summon your mimic tear and both of you go unga bunga and your boss is pancake batter ,bring along your toughest armor set and watch the fun commence
amazing videos , as usual, regarding the information you give about the cracked tear, it's not really 3 minutes buff. It's a fading buff, so the first minutes you obtain more bonuses than the last minutes. Just to let people know

there is a talisman that boost your damage by 20% when a summon dies, put that with the skelies and you have a respawning damage boost, as long as they dont hit the boss
Your one-shot runs are my biggest "I can do this" motivator when it comes to a boss. 😅

For the talisman you got from the consecrated snowfields, this may be old news by now, but all I did was use the Imp spirit ashes and it worked.
You see here's the difference, You *ACTUALLY* one shot them. One singular ability, one button press nothing else. So many people will say they one shot but do multiple attacks. This, my King, Has earned not just my Subscription, but the bell as well!
That one shot on Midra bro.. that is why YOU ARE A GOD! xD

The Scadutree Avatar might have been easier with a turbo buffed bow or other projectile setup. He takes MASSIVELY increased on headshots compared to the body. A lightly seasoned Ancient Dragon Spear takes off like a third of its HP.

For anyone scared of being locked out of quest lines, burning the tree doesn’t lock you out of quest lines but the Leda boss fight in Enir Ilim does.
fun fact to open the spiral jumps you dont need to find the stones that block it just use mohgs shackle besides spiral jump and it will be unlocked instantly

18:12 It's not that she's strong against fire; it's that the floor is water. She actually has 0 absorption against fire and 20 against lightning, but because of the water floor those resistances get swapped. I would also imagine the frenzyflame bottle just has less scaling than the lightning bottle, but I wouldn't really know for sure.
