I think people have become too sensitive. I understood exactly what Apple meant to do with that ad. Going back to the 1990s and early 2000s, the ads that companies would make were much more unsettling and cryptic but we were all fine with it because it was funny and even interesting. I don't think Apple is the problem here with that ad.
Why reinvent the wheel: One consumer macbook and two pro macbooks (big and small), One consumer imac and a pro one (27 or 32"), one windows competitor for video and such mac studio + monitors for pros (both for the macbooks and the mac studio), a mini, normal and pro ipad, and a big and tiny iphone ... done.
The product line has become so much more diverse since the days of Steve’s “four-quadrant” product plan. In fact much of that growth was do to Steve himself. While I don’t completely disagree with you I think Apple’s biggest hurtle should be in letting go of the notion that they have to give us a new version of everything every 12-24 months on a mostly rigid release schedule. Innovate, yes, change and tweak to solve short-comings, of course. But there is no need to have a big fanfare every year for the next big iPhone when the only change is a spec bump.
Without Cook we might also have Newtons or Pippins, LOL. It's going to a big change when Cook retires, he was amazing for Apple, innovation suffered, but his logistics and assembly line cost savings was huge. I think you 100% need both, and innovator and a logistics guy to tell the innovator no sometimes. Having Cook under Jobs was critical, Jobs without Cook would have been rough. Tim Cook had the balls to tell Jobs no, Jobs respected that, but he still got his way a lot, Jobs would try to stop production when a button rattled..LOL Tim was really good at making him understand the long game, probably the whole S series release schedule was a compromise, otherwise Jobs wanted to innovate on every single release and throw out all the tooling and production line savings so they compromised with every other release schedule being innovative and not iterative. Cook seems to keep the same form factor release after release but it was huge part of Apples success. Yes Apple lost some innovation during those years for sure, but it was successful. The iPhone would be a completely buttonless port-less thin glass sheet without many seems if Jobs was still around, but it might cost a fortune to manufacture and might be hated by some. Jobs hated buttons and ports, loved sleek lines and also hated choice or complicated settings, so thank Cook for all the settings and choices, too much so now actually. Also Siri would have been what OpenAI is or better, Jobs wanted a computer to disappear with just a personal secretary to take instruction. Jobs had that vision in the 70's even made a few prototype videos about it, and his speech in Sweden in 1985 was a vision of OpenAI and LLM's. Jobs rarely worried about the bottom line, felt quality product would take of that, so I also think the iPad would be more useful, I think he would have had MacOS on the iPad when a keyboard was attached, that just makes sense and it's innovative. I miss Jobs, and I'll miss Cook, both can not be replaced, I see no one even close as a replacement.
I don't think folding phones are the way to go. There are some people who do like the fold and flip devices but they aren't big sellers and the screens crack in the middle after a while. The candybar shape is far more practical and if you really need a bigger screen, get an ipad.

I don’t think it’s necessarily evil or the worst or anything, just not a good ad. It makes Apple look like it’s destroying comfortable and important things. Under Tim Cook there’s been zero progression into inivation since Steve Jobs passed away. iPhone, iPad, Mac, even Apple TV are Apples biggest properties and all Steve Jobs projects. The only major thing that have really come out since Jobs that’s “new” are HomePods, and AirPods. Vision Pro is a complete flop.
Apple has likely had a plan in place for a while in the event Tim Cook leaves; the mark of a good business is looking ahead and not reacting to a sudden change.
I think John will be a great ceo for apple and Tim should just go now. Omg the ad is awful. The AI sucks, I don’t like it. As for the iPhone 17, can’t they just go back to the smooth design? I just hope John fixes everything that Tim ruined.
Tim Cook Already USED ALL Steve Jobs heritage, from the iPhone and iPad idea, apple earned money easily for so many years. But Less and Less Software/Idea Surprises , only price Up price Up.....now the price already reached the limit. It's not for most people any more.....It goes back to the old times that HOW Apple was dying. Before Steve came back, Apple always thought they are the TOP / BEST/ MOST PRECISE stuff.....but come on, aint electronic device design for people to be affordable to use of?

The add was GREAT, just to many YOUNG people these days get offended by EVERYTHING!
Tim Cook brought Apple in the hands of millions of people and really steered the company through really challenging geo-political times. Steve Hobs made Apple great again, Tim Cook brought that greatness to the world. He’s still got it in him and should stay as long as he can.
Dear iSheep, please tell me what kind of innovation are we talking about since iPhone 10. Is there any difference at all between iphone 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15? 😂 They're f**king milking you, don't you understand that?
what’s apple gonna do 🤨….how about move on! Sheesh people act like it’s gonna be the downfall of apple or something 🤦🏻♂️
Regarding apologizing for the ad, sometimes I think that the West is doomed…
I just hope John fixes everything that Tim ruined.
they need a young CEO that can understand the needs of younger generations
Tim Cook Already USED ALL Steve Jobs heritage, from the iPhone and iPad idea, apple earned money easily for so many years. But Less and Less Software/Idea Surprises , only price Up price Up.....now the price already reached the limit. It's not for most people any more.....It goes back to the old times that HOW Apple was dying. Before Steve came back, Apple always thought they are the TOP / BEST/ MOST PRECISE stuff.....but come on, aint electronic device design for people to be affordable to use of?
Continue 🕊️⚖️🦅. Updated.
While the world rages with war and mixed up genders oops I meant agendas…the world concerns themselves with an ad about an iPad. Hmmm sounds like a first world problem. Personally don’t give a $h:t.
It’s great to see the creativity in the ad…there’s kids programs that display worse depictions than this ad…where’s the outcry?
Thought the ad was great. Haters just need to get over it.
It’s just an ad. Why tf do people complain about everything?
