So, I am good with tablets for the next four years.
I an getting the pro max for the features already available and I am upgrading from a base model iPhone 15 mainly for battery and camera upgrades. Also on the whole delay with Apple Intelligence I suspect it is because of regulatory hurdles over AI safety as all AI companies seem to be hitting a similar delay.
I'm coming from the 11PROMAX, so it's time for me to upgrade. The one decision I made was not to get the MAX version as the screen size is more or less the same on just the pro version. That's about the only difference I made in this purchase. I cannot wait till I get it!
I like the camera slide button. I hit it twice-camera is ready. Hit it again - takes a picture. I really like it. Hold it down - keep holding your video recording now - can’t let go of button. All very quick to use.
I upgraded my 11 pro and got a 16 pro 512gb Titanium Black and love it! Im not worried about the AI feature because im sure when it 100% perfectly ready, we going to get it.
I get a little frustrated with RUclipsrs who bash new iPhones just because they assume that everyone upgrades their phones every year. Yes, if you do upgrade your phone every year you wont see appreciably big differences. There ARE people who hold off upgrading because the iPhones are so reliable. I still have the X and it works beautifully, but I am looking forward to getting the 16 Pro (maybe Pro Max, not sure).
I have the X, so the move to a 16 pro max is a given with 1TB of storage...but if I wait, then I got a whole year to get this...the new macbook seems promising, but I'd still upgrade to an M2 not M3 since the throughput is better...what will be the specs of the new MB Pro? any ideas?
I have the iPhone 12 with the 17.1 update, my iPhone 12 doesn't work well. Sometimes it doesn't ring when I get a call or a message. Some apps won't work or get changed. I am so disgusted because I wanted to wait until the iPhone 17 comes out, but I can't do without a phone completely.
I’ve just cancelled my order for the iPhone 16 pro max because I wanted AI but I’m not buying a promise . Wait until AI is here then I may buy a the 16

Apple will still sell over +200 million phones Also what else do u need a phone for other that scrolling through socials n talking a pic once in a while ⭕️
I upgraded from a 13 Pro Max to a 16 Pro Max. A really nice thing I've noticed is that the voice quality for incoming calls is night and day better than it was on my 13 and people I call have commented that clarity is much better on their end too. Of course I knew that the AI stuff would be coming later as anybody not living under a rock should have known as there was no attempted to represent it being there on release. I think I am going to like the new camera controls as soon as I become accustomed to it.
I have the 14 Pro. I thought I might have wanted to get the 16 Pro mainly for the 5X zoom camera but recently I’ve watched videos that show the negative side of the 5X camera as compared to the 3X on my 14 Pro. Beyond that there is nothing else that interests me about the 16 Pro so I guess I’m going to go at least 1 more year with my current
Coming from a 14 Pro Max, it kinda seems like a small upgrade. I really like usb-c, the bigger battery, and the larger screen. My only gripe is finding a case that doesn’t stink. The camera button cutout some case manufacturers have decided to go with have a lot to be desired. I’m going to just buy an Apple case in the mean time until other manufacturers figure out a way to incorporate a functioning capacitive camera button.
The reason I upgraded from OPPO A9 2020 to the iPhone 16 Plus is because I wanted to go back to the Apple Ecosystem after almost 10 years after the last iPhone I had which was the iPhone 5S 64GB gold that I had in 2016. I also predicted that the ProMotion would be discontinued in a conversation I had with someone this week and 120hz would be shifted across the board, as Apple’s Tim Cook does a lot of Sales Analysis with the Apple Vision Pro and the next iPhone lineup will most likely be like the iPads. The iPhone 17, 17 Mini, 17 Air and 17 Pro models would be all getting 48MP with the 120hz OLED displays and ProMotion will be discontinued or upgraded to 240hz displays.
My wife has the iPhone 13 Pro Max and she hasn’t seen a need to upgrade until now. I think anybody with the 14 or 15 pro doesn’t see a reason to upgrade but people going from the 13 Pro Max are the ones that you see upgrading and then you have your Apple fan who upgrade every year no matter what.
I preordered the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but I ended up returning it. I usually upgrade my phone every year, but this time, I couldn’t tell a difference between the 15 Pro Max and the 16 Pro Max. If you’re coming from the iPhone 12 series to the 14 series, though, I’d say it’s definitely worth it!
Should I upgrade fellas? I’m on the SE2, its old but it still gets updates & records in 4K, battery life is actually terrible, screen is cracked but replacement costs more than buying another one on eBay does
I upgraded from 13 mini to 16 pro. I love the upgrade. ProMotion and always on display is my two favorite features, and (for me) enough to go for the pro over regular.
I'm surprised more people aren't commenting on Apple's trade-in incentive. It's the only reason I upgraded this year; I basically got a 16 Pro Max for half price with my trade-in. Too good to pass up. BTW, I am happy with the new phone.
Guys, PLS BE GRATEFUL!!!! U know that apple releases *4 different* phones *every year* So don't think apple is gonna add many more features Do u know how it feels like to engineer, design and programm the updates and phones So just don't complain Just like the PRO features: 120HZ DISPLAY IS ONLY FOR PRO JUST LIKE TELEPHOTO CAM So also don't complain that the PRO features are on the non pro phones
It is almost as if Apple expected the 16 to not sell well, because even with demand being down I was told by Apple that the new iPhone Pro Max would not be available to me for another 30 Days! My wife and I decided not to upgrade because of the way they are handling the Trade-In for our old iPhone 14 Pro Max phones. We are NOT accepting $1200 worth of Trade-in over a three year monthly discount. I pay CASH for my phones and I want my Trade-in in CASH NOW, not three years down the road!
I dont know if ppl realized this but odd numbered iphones are usually the superior release. I wont be surprised if apple intelligence is so much polished on the 17 and that base 17 models would get higher refresh rates
I am upgrading due to battery health on my 14 pro max along with the bigger screen and most importantly the USBC. I have been getting more and more annoyed with having to take a different charger around with me. My current phone and one other peripheral that I have are the only ones using lightening still. Not counting my essentially dead 2014 Mac mini (video card does not work anymore so no monitor will connect to it).
why do y'all post renders of 'iPhones' that y'all know apple is never going to do, apple absolutely isn't going to have their 3 lenses like that because they know people will claim they copied the look of the pixel
I'm coming from an iPhone 8, so the 16 Pro is going to be a MASSIVE upgrade and the learning curve for me with iOS 18 is going to be daunting enough as it is without the AI. Gives me some time get used to the new features before the AI and better Siri ships. Pro Tip: Wait to upgrade every 6 to 8 years and you'll never be disapointed, lads. 😂
Loved the 13PM Battery, 14PM deep purple colour and camera, 15 Pro USB-C and lighter design. Now, I’m going to skip the 16 Pro as the 5X isn’t as good as the 3X before, the Deep Blue is better than anything offered now and I use the action button as camera launcher and shutter button (volume as the zoom). That’s okay, we don’t have to give Apple money every year.
"...as the 5X isn’t as good as the 3X before" After using a 14P for the past two years, I bought the 16PM, and I kept the 14P. This past week I did comparison shots with each iPhone, tripod mounted, using the self-timer to let the camera stabilize, photographing a large structure (Olympic Park, Ski jumps in Park City) that was a half-mile away. When I zoomed into the comparison images in Photoshop, I could see there is a night and day image quality between the 14P 3X and the 16PM's 5X - cropped in to make the subject in the photos appear the same size. The 16PM wins hands down - it's quite obvious.
Well like I previously stated I was long over due for an upgrade coming from an 8plus.I am hoping Apple Intelligence is coming with the IOS 18 update. There are some commercials out here with a certain carrier the are talking bout the 18 pro with API like it’s already on board🤷🏽♂️
I bought the 16 pro, i am waiting for it to ship but I bought it for what it is today, that being an upgrade from my iphone 12. I do find it funny when people say not to buy the iphone 16 because a large part of ios 18… that is coming soon… isn’t out just yet… and you should instead wait for the 17 because of a bunch of rumours. The same or similar rumours that also were going around about the iphone 15!
I went with the 16 Pro mostly for the cameras. My last iPhone was a XS Max (6 years old and a great phone overall) and the extra $200 will be inconsequential for me because I’ll likely keep this new phone for about as long. And it’s much less than that since this is probably the last year my old phone had any trade in value.
Sorry but the 15 is less breakable than that one why would I get a 16 when I've seen people to drop testing the 16 versus the 15 and the 15 outlives the 16 every time specially in the pro edition
My mother will be upgrading from the iPhone 8 plus to the iPhone 16 pro max. She will be 84 this year, so maybe it is one of the last smartphones she will ever buy. For at least 5 years with the most recent iOS plus like 2 -3 year security updates she will need to buy the next iPhone at 92, provided she can still use it. She needs hearing aids that only work with an iPhone and at a later time could take advantage of the accessibility features. Why should she not upgrade to a phone that lasts her one year longer than the iPhone 15 pro max? The cost difference is negligible considering the price tag including full apple care+ coverage covering theft and loss. Not everyone buys the newest phones. I define a set of features I need and then use the phone until an upgrade is worth the price. I upgraded from the iPhone 7 plus to the iPhone 14 pro max. Next stop is in 5 - 6 years. And then the upgrade will be worth it.
I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and I am going to wait to upgrade to the 17, as the 16 Pro Max is just the 12,13,14, & 15 Pro Max with a “non-button” on the side. Plus people are getting tired of Apple not giving better color options to the Pro Max line, and your biggest feature is “improved battery life.” Tim Cook is dropping the ball year by year, and as long as your iPhone is in great shape, and works fine, why waste money on a phone that’s slightly better than the one you already own?
So far I've upgraded to the top model iPhone every year since the original. This time around I held off, for now. Got tired of tiny Tim obviously holding off on upgrades. I kind of had buyer's remorse last year when I upgraded from the 14 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max since there wasn't that much of a difference. Among the differences was they upgraded the regular camera sensor from 12 Megapixels to 48. This time around they did the same but for the ultra-wide sensor but left the telephoto at 12 Megapixels and at 5x Zoom. To me it's obvious they're making as little upgrades as possible so they can have more for the next phone. It wouldn't surprise me if they're leaving a full camera upgrade (all sensors at 48 MP or greater and at least 10x Zoom) for the 17 Pro Max next year. These RUclipsrs and Apple Analysts have been expecting an under the screen selfie camera and no dynamic island for the last 3 years or so. Will we finally see it next year? Who knows. Apple couldn't even bother to update the Bluetooth to 5.4 in these devices. Say what you all will but Apple did not convince me enough to buy in this year. Also, WTF is this sand color? It's light Rose Gold is what it is. Honestly, had the Apple Watch been compatible with Android I would've dumped the iPhone a long time ago. There's no innovation coming from Apple these days.
Not upgrading. I happened to buy a 15pro max last year and with Apple intelligence coming to the 15 pros I almost feel like I have a brand new phone again (I couldn’t wait so I’m on 18.1 public beta 2)
Apple hasn’t been that secretive since Steve Jobs was alive. There was always ONE MORE THING that was the hero device. We don’t have that anymore. We have “here are the new things” and that’s that. Nothing to be excited about anymore.
I upgraded from 11 to 15 last year, and now they are telling me that their 1 year old phone is not capable to run their "maybe AI" ? Just because i buy stock one and not BiTurbo Pro Mega Max Ultra? Its shame...

It's crazy for me that basic iphone 16 and plus one is that popular, despite apple giving 60hz on purpose to force buying pro models. Like people buy it for apple logo only, where every android flagship and midranger too has 120hz.

I’m disappointed that in order to use Apple Intelligence an iPhone 15 or newer is required. That to me is a huge mistake. As large of a company as Apple is and as much resources as they have, they could’ve designed Apple Intelligence to work with all of the phones that support iOS 18.

I like the camera slide button. I hit it twice-camera is ready. Hit it again - takes a picture. I really like it. Hold it down - keep holding your video recording now - can’t let go of button. All very quick to use.
iPhone 16 pro max has been sold out in my area since release. Adelaide, South Australia
I upgraded my 11 pro and got a 16 pro 512gb Titanium Black and love it!
Im not worried about the AI feature because im sure when it 100% perfectly ready, we going to get it.
“Difference between 16 and 16 pro aren’t that much” *proceeds to list much differences
Wait until AI is here then I may buy a the 16
Tbh my 12 pro max couldn't handle another year. so I legit needed an upgrade, But man i wished apple completely redid the Iphone.
Couldn’t handle another year? Was the battery going out? If so just replace the battery😂 I have a 12 pro max with 72% battery health and I’m still not upgrading till it won’t turn on
@@Hayden-p9fAnd the battery replacement is like 70 bucks. Less if you're paying for AppleCare but if you're not it's 70 bucks maybe 80 or 90 for some phones but it starts at 69. It's also way better for the environment to not upgrade if you don't have to. Even if you do have to upgrade why not go for a used phone that's a couple generations older so you save 500 bucks and help the environment a bit
@@michaelcorcoran8768 I plan on replacing the battery whenever it craps out on me, I paid $1300 for my 12 pro max so I’m definitely getting my moneys worth before I HAVE to upgrade because of the software support ending on the 12 sometime in the next few years I’d assume
@@Hayden-p9f who are you to question whether someone upgrades their phone or not? It’s none of your business whether they upgrade their phone or not I upgraded from a 14 promax to a 16 pro Max are you gonna dare? My decision to upgrade for a 14 pro Max to 16 pro max? I despise people like you questioning people who upgrade, I and people like me upgrade when we feel we need to upgrade it it’s none of your goddamn business if people upgrade or not.
@@Adamtendo_player_1 I wasn’t demanding that he upgrades his iPhone I was wondering why…just curious. Also your aggressive ash buddy you need to chill it’s just a RUclips comment.
Many others have said it before me: Don't buy a product for what the manufacturer promises it will deliver in the future. Buy it for what it gives you today.
This happens every year but apple will stay number ONE
...In America, of course.
@@Jeno_Sinatra And the U.K.

OMG - taking money from BetterHelp - are you kidding
I have the 14 Pro. I thought I might have wanted to get the 16 Pro mainly for the 5X zoom camera but recently I’ve watched videos that show the negative side of the 5X camera as compared to the 3X on my 14 Pro. Beyond that there is nothing else that interests me about the 16 Pro so I guess I’m going to go at least 1 more year with my current
SE first generation still going strong.
Where does he get his numbers from because it’s a 2 to 3 week wait for the pros but there’s no wait for the regular 16s
They should have considered to go 90Hz for iPhone 16/16+ phone models.
It was crazy at my Verizon store, so not sure if this is true.
2:30 uhhh 120hz??? Looks way more smooth
I have the iPhone 11. I pushed off getting the 15 for the 16. At this point, I don’t think I’ll make it another year.
9:04 if this was it, I would preorder in a heartbeat
I’m on the SE2, its old but it still gets updates & records in 4K, battery life is actually terrible, screen is cracked but replacement costs more than buying another one on eBay does
When i was using the camera control, it was so hard to use, and using the screen so much better when zooming the photod
I upgraded from 13 mini to 16 pro. I love the upgrade.
ProMotion and always on display is my two favorite features, and (for me) enough to go for the pro over regular.
Hello,
and about new Macs, is there a new real iMac 27/30/32 ?
I'm surprised more people aren't commenting on Apple's trade-in incentive. It's the only reason I upgraded this year; I basically got a 16 Pro Max for half price with my trade-in. Too good to pass up. BTW, I am happy with the new phone.
What is that Apple Watch band you’re wearing?
Do I need to refer to the macrumors forum reactions after the first ipod was released? Yep this is exactly like that.
If you are going pro, you are going pro Max. That is why numbers are lower
I’m definitely keeping my iPhone 15 Pro. I see no reason to “upgrade.”
To much money just saying
I’m sticking with my iPhone 7+ in piano black!
Guys, PLS BE GRATEFUL!!!!
U know that apple releases *4 different* phones *every year*
So don't think apple is gonna add many more features
Do u know how it feels like to engineer, design and programm the updates and phones
So just don't complain
Just like the PRO features: 120HZ DISPLAY IS ONLY FOR PRO
JUST LIKE TELEPHOTO CAM
So also don't complain that the PRO features are on the non pro phones
I got my 16 pro max in black titanium 1TB as an upgrade from a 12 pro max
I’m on the 12 Pro Max, would you definitely recommend it or wait for the 17?
No sure how true is this data that you are showing?... I can’t get the 16 Pro Max in Australia as in today (28/09/24).
In a year or so we'll look back and speak about the Apple iPhone 16 catastrophy release without AI.
I got a free upgrade to the 16 pro max and a cheaper phone bill. So I personally can’t complain, but I understand why others are not happy
Super great advice!
My iPhone 15 still is awesome.Fells like the newest phone with the case off
I dont know if ppl realized this but odd numbered iphones are usually the superior release. I wont be surprised if apple intelligence is so much polished on the 17 and that base 17 models would get higher refresh rates
Aren’t ppl tired of this already . Who cares
I have an iPhone 12 Pro. The battery health is showing wear, but I'm still gonna wait to upgrade.
why do y'all post renders of 'iPhones' that y'all know apple is never going to do, apple absolutely isn't going to have their 3 lenses like that because they know people will claim they copied the look of the pixel
You must buy the pro to get lidar.
I love the news. The voice and delivery is rattling.
"...as the 5X isn’t as good as the 3X before"
After using a 14P for the past two years, I bought the 16PM, and I kept the 14P.
I applaud your ability to stay positive with what apple has given up. Regrettably, I’ll be leaving Apple as a whole once my iPhone 15 PM has died.
I have a mini…holding out for something similar in size….
I don’t have my 16 pro max yet (due to arrive next Friday), but I’m really looking forward to the huge upgrade. . . From my 8 Plus.
It's not the product - it's the economy.
Releasing a phone without the flagship feature cooked apple. We are all jealous of Samsung AI
I can upgrade from vanilla 15 to 16 pros but I just don’t like action button and add to it the new gimmick button.
Masalanya satu jer dgn ip16PM nie, sbb A.I hnya utk selected negara je... Klau update utk A.I pun hnya X smpai 10 negara.

And just in case you need it, Robert decided to make his video even more useful by offering you to Get 10% off your first therapy after you bought yourself the new iPhone 16 (especially the Pro Max as you had to say Goodbye to $ 1299)
I am not being sarcastic here, that is actually very helpful...should any regrets follow after the purchase.
Now let's see what that October event is going to offer us in regards to MacBooks and iPads and Mac Mini.
Tell that to my 3 week long back ordered 16 pro max
16 hours ago with iPhone 16? WHAT?!?!
First Iphone I bought was the first SE 16GB 😂 it’s really „old“ now so the 16GB are a problem but I changed battery last year and it works and works.
My side smartphone…
It's crazy for me that basic iphone 16 and plus one is that popular, despite apple giving 60hz on purpose to force buying pro models. Like people buy it for apple logo only, where every android flagship and midranger too has 120hz.
That’s because most people don’t give a shit about screen refresh rates.
@@marsrocketidk when this people will realize this, I get that complaining helps improve products but when the vast majority of consumers don’t give a flying F about it it doesn’t matter at the end of the day lol

I live my lg OLED VRR 4K 120hz. Won’t play without it. But for a phone, the lighter 60hz is better than a heavier 120hz
Thats bcs they wont realize something missing when they dont have it in the first place. These ppl dont even know what a 120hz panel feels like. The moment they try it and go back to 60hz, i would say they'll complain too
I’m disappointed that in order to use Apple Intelligence an iPhone 15 or newer is required. That to me is a huge mistake. I have spoken to many people that have the ability to upgrade, but will not on principal. As large of a company as Apple is and as much resources as they have, they could’ve designed Apple Intelligence to work with all of the phones that support iOS 18.
They've probably gimped the software of the 16 pro/max to get everyone buying the cheaper one, then release an update getting people to double dip 😂
True… The only reason I upgraded from a 14 pro max 256gb to a 16 PM 1TB is because of drive space and the AI that won’t be here for another 6 months
iPhone 17 rumors...
I swear, if Apple releases another iPhone 13/14/15/16 copy/paste, I'm buying a flip phone.
Don’t understand why ppl expect major updates every year that’s just crazy thinking FHO
