The green bubble, blue bubble issue has always seem very stupid to me. The fact that people are actually making that an issue shows how petty people have become.

      @sylussquared9724 5 месяцев назад +61

People make it an issue because its an issue. Its an issue because apple refuses to support modern photocalls when communicating between an iphone and an android phone, meaning that the messages are sent unencrypted and take longer to receive (although not really noticeable). They have refused to modernise until recently forced to by the EU.

@@sylussquared9724 It’s not an issue. Apple along with any other company has the right to control their technology the way they see fit as long as it’s not effecting customers illegally. If Apple doesn’t want to allow photocall between Android then they can do that. Same thing applies to Google too. If Google doesn’t want to allow photocall with iPhones or use some Google exclusive technology with iPhone users then they have the right to do that in my opinion. You all need to stop complaining about stupid stuff.

My first computer was an Apple //e.
My first IT job was a computer technician at Computerland.
I got to work on the Apple Lisa in the workshop.
I was disgusted I could not do component repairs on simple modules like power supplies for the markings on the components being shaved off and no access to service repair manuals.
I was further disgusted at the power supply module replacement cost.
I was also very disappointed that Apple turned it's back on Steve Wozniac open ended design and the whole industry of peripherals his design created with the Apple // & /// products, to such an extent I dis-appointed apple from my choice of brand.
Also a novice programmer, moving across to the Intel platform allowed my novice experience to go professional by the age of 19.
Sorry Apple, you lost this fanatic a long long time ago, not that I don't think Billy is not a POS.

@@a_DiGiTaL_Slave_Labs Thanks for your very interesting comment, I am aware of the hardware backdoor of the M3 chips. As for the Intel chips that's nothing to do with Apple, that's Intel's problem which doesn't just apply Mac's as PC's will using them too. The BackDoor problem with the M3 chips is a really bad problem for Apple admittedly, but its also a good thing too in a way, because Apple has been made aware of it now and will resolve it hopefully with their next gen of "M" chips. Sadly as I'm sure you're aware that nothing in tech is totally unhackable, even Android users with their Samsung Galaxy Tabs & Phones running the latest Snapdragon chips will get the same treatment sooner or later down the line, because sadly hackers don't discriminate anymore, if they can't get pleasure from hacking you on a software level they'll try to get you on a hardware level, Which is I'm sure you'll agree is a very sad and pathetic thing to do to anyone. so if people think they're safe with a Snapdragon chip, think again, they just haven't tried it ....Yet .

Drug Rings were conducted by Brit-ish East India Trading Co into China for Rothschild and his puppet royals. CIA was set up by British Intelligence via John Dee (whom 007 was based). Drugs fund Black Ops, were smuggled in the corpses of Vietnam war soldiers.
International Conflicts are fabricated. They put countries into debt to central bankster cartel and proffit their military industry barons, coountries insolvant and bankrupted placed stealthily under foreign occupation by the creditors to pay back the debt by taxation, rates, penalties, fines, etc... The most relevant for America is the Civil War that bankrupted it. WW1 & 2 did all the commonwealth countries that based their constitution on the principles of the Constitution of the USA thereby limiting the powers of the royals over them.
Economic Crisis is due to central bankster and treasury chicanery by the misuse of monopoly fiat currency.

Would it be nice for to be cross compatible? I’m sure, but once again it’s their product and they want to keep it closed then so be it. As a consumer, we have the choice whether we want to buy their products or not. It’s like saying I want to buy a XBOX series X disc and I want it to work with the PS5 because they’re games consoles. My best friend has an android, and he’s had an android since the early days and I switched from Sony Erickson to iPhone and for 17 years we’ve been absolutely fine messaging each other whether it was sms or via what’s app or messenger, we had options and we used them. I genuinely believe this whole green vs blue bubble stigma is in the states. Europe and Asia, no one really cares. That maybe due to androids popularity here but those who converse between iPhone and android, guess what? Are doing absolutely fine and have no issues

I think the best way to break a monopoly is not to force it to break apart but remove the protections it relies on. Remove Apple's ability to sue for breaking their walled garden and you'll find people developing ways to sideload apps, reverse-engineer iMessage, develop better drivers for Apple peripherals.
Sure, Apple will fight back and patch whatever exploits let you sideload apps. And then people will find new ones. It will be a constant cat-and-mouse game, but I think that is the best way to solve the issue while respecting Apple's freedom to design a product as they see fit.

Only a f'ing stupid lawyer would bother to voice that out loud. I have NEVER heard such a stupid argument. The bottom line is trust, that is the core of what I see with Apple, Cook has held the helm well in my view at Apple, sure some apple products may be marginally expensive, what I am getting for that money is I trust Apple more than Android and Microsoft trying to shaft me on the back end on their marketing strategies and stability. I see everything up front with Apple, more reliable and stable, so if the competitors are whining because Apple has a superior product, then they need to improve their came. The only competition out there that is stepping up to the plate in the Android arena is Samsung, so if you are going to go after Apple, then you need to go after Samsung. Also yes while my iPhone is slowly going out and my watch is leaning towards end and I have the second hand MacBook for extra two years above its life and it’s getting louder fans or my AirPods wanna take a break from me so far Apple has been the only tech company which products I have not even considered to toss out just for the annoyance they can be when they’re lived in a bit over the regular shelf period (and my moms last years android is getting on my nerves more than my physically dying decade old iPad I also got from a second hand tech store about four years ago and many years above its shelf life so that alone is saying things about a tech company)
I love Apple for what it is and how it is bc FINALLY I’ve found a proper tech company products that my demanding persona can actually use and feel safe using (as I largely appreciate Apple’s way of security and ecosystem integration making it the most smooth experience that I never had with anything else before)

Apple has had data breaches in the past and many exploits in their OSs. It is not necessarily more secure than a *Good* android phone and I really hate this assumption and having that sense of false true security. It is a very secure OS, however Google pixels also do a bang up job here.
Apple recently supported RCS, but it would be nice if they had a different color for that, and if they could offer Imessage and other services like that on competing platforms. I am a person who switched from Apple to Google pixels and the thing I hate the most is people wanting me to use an Apple service I can't use on Android because apple won't offer them to us. The common thing people tell me is "just get an iPhone" but I don't want one, I just want that one particular service from Apple on my preferred device. You can use Google services on iPhone, why not the other way around? If your family or what not relies on a certain service, you feel forced into buying and using a phone from Apple you might not want to use (like in my case) and that is the problem I have with Apple.

I am a very ex-Apple, now Andriod and Samsung user. However, This is a fight the US government should not be picking. Yes there are issues when using Apple specific eco-systems by Android users, but with there being about 3 times more Android users than iOS users, its a smaller issue than it appears. But the main reason the US government as well as the EU are going after Apple is not for users sakes, but rather to attract attention away from illegal immigration issues. As you have said, it's a big, headline and attention grabbing statement, but it would take years to get to court, if it ever did. But the announcement has dropped other and far bigger issues off the front page. I don't like the stuffiness of the Apple eco-system, which is why I replaced all my Apple products, but I will defend their right to have that system all day long. They created a system which provides a reliable and safe service to millions of people around the world and that should not be an issue.

Right. Because Apple giving their customers choice by allowing them to install 3rd party software, use 3rd party app stores, use alternative payment processors and basically giving them more freedom and choice is OBVIOUSLY a hideously bad thing. Apple could absolutely open up their platform and provide consumers with more choice without there being any downside to consumers. But they don't want to because they like being a monopoly, exerting control and price gouging. This is what happens when a lifestyle company pretends to be a technology company.

Surely the ultimate arbiter in this should be us consumers. We have the choice to go closed eco system route with Apple or more open with Samsung. I genuinely believe this has more to do with government control than a concern for our best interests. A closed eco system will be harder for the government to snoop on its citizens (although I am sure they can still do it) and also to control actions / access information. I watched a video on RUclips claiming the benefits of Samsung and the fact their eco system is much larger including things like fridges that can tell you when something is going bad or a washing machine that can tell you when it’s done. The more open an eco system is the more it is vulnerable to hackers and compatibility issues. But the one thing that I ask myself is that as a species have we lost the ability to work anything out by ourselves? For me the Apple eco system does everything I want it to.

I think that it is ridiculous to make any manufacturer have to produce a product that is compatible with an unknown amount of technology. For example, texting android vs texting iPhone...one is clearly better, iPhone to iPhone but you can still text message any cell phone on the planet...even dumb phones. They do not make it impossible to do it outside the ecosystem and it works rather well so why should Apple be responsible for making that outside experience the same as what they are responsible for which is what they own, their devices, their software and the updates they receive. So what if these awesome add ons are great with one thing but not another? It isn't Apple's fault, it is the fault of the manufacturer or designer or engineer behind those other non Apple devices. Apple built devices and software that work with other things they have built...they have standardized also and have made allowances for changes like USB C to accommodate outside influences to keep the companies products competitive in our existing society. It works, why should Apple be responsible for making a product that works amazing with every possible device that links to it? That is ridiculous. Even the human population is not like this. For example, our bodies can heal and repair from many traumas and illnesses. There is a certain part of the population that will succumb to those traumas and illnesses too but overall, we are resilient enough to for the most part as a species, survive. It should be up to the makers of the associated technologies to find out how to be compatible with both ecosystems if we are talking just the biggest two...Apple and Android. Many companies have done this and made decent profit.
So those that buy Apple and complain that it won't work with everything...my car does not work with my sofa but I don't complain. It is not the responsibility of my car manufacturer nor is it the responsibility of my sofa maker to ensure compatibility with the infinite world that they could never foresee and are not financially responsible for. I mean, I can move my sofa with my car so I should be satisfied about the fact that is possible and not complain that I am not getting a massage while my car moves my sofa. It works with other things. That to me says a lot yet our own government wants to be a baby and say its how it works with things it doesn't own. Then the government should hold itself to that same standard and offer free services for the citizens of this country so we can be completely compatible with all other countries and possible devices we encounter. That means free health care, free education and not charging any person for harvesting sun power and quit going to war over resources or differences in government styles. Democracy supports differences so we should respect that other places are not democracies. Our people had to rise up and fight to be where we are so will their own citizens if they want different. It might be harder to do the more time passes and the governments get more powerful but I digress.
It should be unconstitutional to enforce a company to have universal compatibility just like it should be unconstitutional to provide any company with immunity from persecution for products they produce that people interact with. So this is the same thing but in reverse. Big pharma can't be sued for killing people with COVID vaccines that were dangerous and not vaccines but therapies when they were supposed to be compatible and safe with all citizens who were forced to take them but were not. So why should Apple be sued for making its ecosystem so strong that they hold the market share with the invention of their devices that work so well with all their other devices and work with other devices but with diminished qualities? We are in a democracy that gets to choose the products and services we use. We are poor at selecting the best companies to buy from or use services from like Facebook or Google due to them collecting all of our digital data when connected from their devices or software. Facebook just flat out steals because they might own the website but they are collecting data from every website you go to forever after logging into Facebook and so they are an infectious virus. They take that data and sell it repetitively for an infinite amount of time. You can opt out of being tracked and increase the privacy so Facebook does not have that ability which is a lie because I have done the highest removal of Facebook tracking and they are still collecting my data and the data of anybody that uses that browser. Its why I use a different downloaded browser that cannot visit Facebook so it cannot be infected with their stealing malicious algorithm.
Apple protects its users from this and you know this is exactly why the government is suing. They want to have easier access to Apple customer data for use whenever they feel like it because every other company has given over our data to them. Even so, they still get the data using crafted software designed to break the firewalls that protect Apple customers so I don't see why they are making such public waste of our tax dollars for things that most citizens, you know, the bosses of the government don't care about. I would rather see the tax dollars we give to the government not go to ridiculous black projects that hurt innocent people and have the CIA disbanded for its crimes against humanity. Then we can feed everybody, give healthcare to people...the real healthcare that works and not this crap pharmaceutical model developed in the 30's that has proven it only works for short periods of time. We need border protection so Americans aren't paying for the world to live off of us because our own citizens are dying from lack of services that they pay for as other non citizens are getting those services and exhausting working programs to a point of bust. We need to stop welfare for simply having children and make people work but ensure there are jobs for people. We need to enforce laws that protect citizens and not hurt them. Wasting their money is hurting them.

The DOJ is literally benefitting everyone by forcing apple to do the things they should have done years ago.

Imagine the govt telling someone they have too much power. Sounds like a lobbyist campaign to me.

Does the government not know that more android phones are sold than any Apple iPhone? I mean seriously… This thinking that Apple has a monopoly in the space is ridiculous… if a company designs and develops a product or line of products that are meant to be tightly integrated, then that should be allowed. Also a company should be allowed to say what happens on their platforms, it’s ridiculous to think that anyone and everyone should be allowed to play a game when the people wanting to play have continued to break the rules. Sure Apple could forgo 30% cut to a lower percentage, but even still, Apple should be allowed to dictate who gets to play in their garden.

The 30% cut can't be their main problem, since that is the standard from the begining, and actually even the Epic "cat fight" prooved that is not the main problem (not with Apple, but compare the Steam renevue and the Epic store renevue in the past 4 years.. and Steam still cut the 30%.. and Epic only cut 12%, but still the users and the developers are on the 30% cut platform even after 4 years..). Also there are another US company, the Twitch what cut 65% and only left 35% for the streamer.. so actually Apple (not just them, everyone else like Playstation store, Xbox store, Steam store, Google Playstore etc) is give double amount of that 35% with the 70%..
And the main problem is that, one of the main limitation of the innovation is that, if you can't do what you want.. like check the 5 years of 120Hz on Android, they immedietly throwed away their "best" after Apple showed there is a way not to lose 2 hours of battery time with 120Hz, but even gain that 2 hours as extra..
Same with the camera, Apple just increased the 12MP camera lens in the past few years, but they already give you an options to shoot the 24MP default images, what even the 200MP camera lens Android can't offer, they still lilited to 12MP.. If the software and hardware in the same hand, it gives way more possibility like when you need to work with multiple company together to make something.

iOS has about 60% market share in the US. Worldwide, yes, there are more Androids because they are cheaper.

What about the fact that Google has a HUGE monopoly on search engines, and Microsoft’s extreme dominance over the computer market? The justice department always singles out Apple even if they aren’t guilty, probably because they’re being paid by Google

If only government needed to leave apple alone.

Apple does not have a monopoly imo (additionally, they are ONLY the more popular product in the US. Not necessarily elsewhere). They just have a better product. There is a huge market of smartphones that are genuinely great. A large portion of the US buys those other products. I buy an iPhone because it just works better. The materials are nicer. The software (and integrations) are significantly better for what I need.
I tried flipping to an Android about 2 years ago. I was sick of my iPhone. Guess what, I got everything setup on a flagship Android phone and within 36 hours, I absolutely hated everything about it. I returned it and went back to Apple. It had nothing to do with "green bubble" or "blue bubble". Just bad software.
Apple is doing it right. If more companies focused on integration, we'd have better products.
Don't get me wrong, having things be open source is important and should happen. But also having a company manage my data from start to finish instead of being handed off 7 times with so much room for errors and compromises, I prefer.

This case is about America. I don't know if you realize that or not. Also nothing crazy is going to happen maybe things like letting people without an iphone update their airpods or let other watches work properly with iphones or make rcs with end to end encryption a thing is as far as its going to go, if anything happens at all. Oh and hopefully let people install apps that apple doesn't have to verify. None of these things will hurt people who use iphones or macs. Most of them will actually help them like being able to securely being able to text someone with an android phone or download an app that they want to, but don't have to if they don't want to like fortnite.
