Apple are a bit ahead of the ball by already opening up the repair guides, but every major manufacturer will be required to do so within the next 2 years. There are plenty of companies I "hate" and will never spend another penny at, but I have no hard feelings toward any of the individual employees. Everyone has to make money somehow, and I respect that, even if it is by working for a company that I really don't like. So "hating" a company is totally fine. Companies aren't strangers. Turns out the phone opens from front and you don’t need to open it from back. Everyone is so kind hearted in mega corporations…….😴😴😴

Using tweezers on the pull tabs will rip the tabs. Saw someone else take apart the 16 with no issues, slow and steady with your fingers makes all the difference

It's because they are in a transition period. Until they get all regions to go eSIM only, you'll still see the current approach. Once everything gets moved to eSIM only, that space will be reutilized.

You can run a low current through the battery adhesive to deactivate it, so you can remove the battery without finicky pull tabs or messy alcohol. I wonder if they’ll start using this tech to remove the adhesive on the front and back glass.
How surprising to see that the Pro phones still use the traditional pull tabs unlike the new 'pull' tabs they used in regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus (electrically operated adhesives), although until next year they might do it across the entire lineup.
Pretty cool that even though the features haven’t changed much from the previous version, the engineering of the structure, batteries, durability, and repairability has all improved!

How surprising to see that the Pro phones still use the traditional pull tabs unlike the new 'pull' tabs they used in regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus (electrically operated adhesives), although until next year they might do it across the entire lineup.
Pretty cool that even though the features haven’t changed much from the previous version, the engineering of the structure, batteries, durability, and repairability has all improved!
