It's only about an hour longer than the 16 Pro Max and the iPhone has less mAh battery capacity. You can't really compare the S24 Ultra to all the other models. The iPhone 16 Pro Max has 343 mAh less battery capacity, which gives the S24 Ultra an edge with its 5000 mAh battery. However, Apple clearly excels in designing, optimizing, and seamlessly integrating software with its hardware and ecosystem.
@@Arexxen Stop yapppping. Iphone can put 5000 mAh battery capacity if they can but they can't 🤷🏻♀️ that's not Samsung problem. Also, S24 ultra is more battery efficient even if you did the math. The impressive thing here is Samsung has 5000 mAh battery with Spen which eats a lot of space...
This test is pointless. The iPhone does a lot of work for the first 24 hours, even seemingly doing nothing. It indexes thousands of photos and files. It analyzes faces and places. The test should be done again after a few days.

last years test had the 15 plus with more battery life(13 hours) (yes it had more than the 15 pro max) so they can't even manage last years 3rd rate iphones "innovation"
Absolutely ridiculous! The S24 Ultra from last year with MORE use than the "new" iPhone 16 pro models not only lasts longer than the iPhone 16 Pro but also pulverizes the 16 Pro max. What a debacle for Apple!
to be fair, iOS 18 is probably still not fully optimized, I expect it to get better in the next few updates. Either way that s24 battery is insanely good.
S24 in this test is new not used for a year. He mentioned that all of the phones in this test have around 5 charging cycles. there is no point of testing the phone If it’s one year old, it will not be accurate. What he mentioned is that he personally used this model and he was impressed not the same phone in this test.
Wow, as a die-hard iPhone user, that Samsung battery life is impressive Edit: just went back to last year’s battery test and the iPhone 15 plus did over 13 hours. The 15 pro max also did 11 hours 41 mins. Would the updated app list you used really make that big of a difference this time round?
He literally mentioned that the battery tests each year are done differently, so you should not compare results from one video to another because the variables and apps are different. So yes, last year test saw the 2nd place 15 Pro Max getting 11h 41mins and the 1st place 15 Plus getting 13h 19min, but in this test, 15 Pro Max got 9h 35min and is 4th place.
@@RadiationNetworkdo you have eyes? Where is it dimmed? Oh, and do you wanna say also that it has more screen, and more resolution since you are so fair, or that doesn't make a difference?... LMAO apple fanboy warrior detected 😂😂
If there’s anything about batteries that I do know, it’s that degradation can happen even if a battery isn’t being used much. The 15PM Arun got for the test could technically be new but the battery cell within might be several months old and thus not contain as much actual capacity as it otherwise would have. Last year’s Pro Max still did well though compared to the non-Pro 16s solely due to the LTPO display being more efficient than the standard 60hz Apple used on the non-Pros which is locked at that refresh rate. Either way, I still treat battery tests as more of a baseline of what to expect with current conditions and not as the one-all-be-all because as others have already said, it varies based on your usage.
Gah, you didn’t test against last years winner, the iPhone 15 Plus 😟 it beat every iPhone last year (+13 hrs). Yes, obviously different apps to test with but the winner from the previous year should test against the currents.
They didn't let anything, samsung has faster charging you just need to buy the brick just like apple requires you to buy a brick which is why I don't understand why he didn't use said 45W brick in the test
This series is my favorite battery testing series but i will say for everyone: you can expect 10-15% less battery than boss is getting because when out and moving, the phones are constantly searching for better and different cell tower, the accelerometer/gps is constantly updating, and the auto brightness is higher and always changing.
It's so amazing, seeing that an overclocked 4nm SOC beating out the 3nm SOCs in the iPhone 16s, not to mention that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra had a higher screen resolution and is now a couple months old... W Samsung fr.
The 16 pro max is neck to neck with s24 ultra. You can see the majority of the battery difference in his test occurred during instagram and app stores, which the Samsung actually had significantly less video playback happening on its screen versus the iPhones. This is an extremely poorly executed battery test. A proper test would be to actually run constant, unvarying apps between devices.
@@Madtitan.123but he’s right the video playbacks on the Samsung weren’t continuous like the iPhone. There’s a point in the video when there’s an ad playing on all the iPhones but the Samsung for a minute doesn’t play the ad until the person plays it manually
Hi mate, I think this is a really solid comparison! However, I was curious why the iPhone 15 lasts over 2 hours less than in the review you did last year. Could it be due to the type of content you were watching or perhaps a different usage pattern? It might also be the new iOS impacting battery life, but the difference seems quite significant-at least compared to the same model you tested last year. When comparing it to the Plus model, it makes sense that the battery life is shorter, given it’s not the Pro version. Either way, I enjoyed the review, and I think you’ve got some great content on your channel!
If I remember correctly Arun, last year it was IPhone 15 plus whose battery lasted long and was the winner. Feels Strange that it was not included in this video.
So is the S24 Ultra running at its default reduced resolution or did you change it to take full advantage of its display? Im guessing you left it default since you never mentioned it.
The exact measurement of Samsung S24 Ultra battery is 4855mAh. Bcs u note it for iphone in 7:12. So the percentage difference is 3.62% between 16PM & S24U. 💁😊

Small request: It would be nice to add a 24 hour idle battery drain on mobile data, location and Bluetooth to the test for perspective. Not every user puts their phone to enormous stress test regularly but we use it daily with navigation, Bluetooth and mobile data on. So I think it would affect greatly a battery efficient network reception capability significantly improves battery experience for a user and can might alter the final conclusions of the test either.

But while I understand that’s more variables it’s certainly more realistic to a phones use. Who is buying a phone not to put a sim in it?
Wasn't last year's battery test winner the iPhone 15 Plus, so wouldn't it have been better to benchmark the highest-performing iPhone from last year with that of this year?
The S24 ultra is impressive, I follow a twitch streamer that solely uses it for streaming as she travels, she obviously uses powerbanks as she streams for 8 hours + and on cellular connection, but it shows how reliable the s24 ultra is.

The S24 was nof charged not even for one second No need to be angry with a phone made by a korean company being slightly better that a re-release of a phone from last year by an american one
What should be taken note here, is that these battery tests are medium to high stress level testing that's meant to stress the entire device. Most people don't use their smart phones this way, I'd imagine a majority of us use our cameras for seconds at a time, scroll tiktok, ig and RUclips for a bit, and text our friends and family. All of these are also done through different hour intervals when our Always On Displays are being used. But regardless all the battery life on all of these phones are going to be incredible regardless. But the Pro 16 Max and 24 Ultra have BEASTS for battery life.
Well yeah. So has every other manufacturer when there is "tHe biGGeST EveR iN oUr pRoDUCt". Even folding phones are just marginal improvements year over year.
bro i’ve been using an iphone 11 pro max basically since release and it’s at 76% max capacity so i can’t even imagine the relief i would feel with any iphone released after that
Thank you for doing a realistic battery test, not one that features benchmarking or rendering videos. Most people I know might make a video for Instagram every so often or never edit a video at all. Also, excellent editing and commentary during the testing. I thought I would skip to the end but you kept me from doing so. Great job, Arun!
Your battery tests are my favorite out of anyone else’s! 🔥 Going into this, I told myself I’d be happy just as long as my iPhone 15 Pro Max beats the rest of the iPhones and comes behind ONLY the 16 Pro Max and that’s exactly what happened but man… almost a 2 hour difference?! I’m jealous 😂😂
Not all smartphone screen brightness adjustments are linear. Also human perception of brightness is logarithmic (and why humans have such a wide dynamic range of brightness perception compared to cameras). The 2600nit peak brightness of Samsung (not achievable on an all white screen) will not appear 2.6x brighter than a 1000nit screen. That's a big reason why you will still see reviews of flashlights on Amazon saying a 4000 lumen flashlight does not appear twice as bright as a 2000 lumen flashlight because the human eye is just so good at keeping bright and dark elements perceivable. Don't forget Snapdragon acquired ex-Apple employees that made Apple chips so good. We might see the end of Apple efficiency dominance even in the laptop chip space.

So yes, last year test saw the 2nd place 15 Pro Max getting 11h 41mins and the 1st place 15 Plus getting 13h 19min, but in this test, 15 Pro Max got 9h 35min and is 4th place.

I would guess iOS 18 hasn’t been fully optimised yet. But great battery from the s24

@@tint6625 You realize that the Samsung has more nits to its screen, and this being a control test he made all phones with equal brightness.
