When Apple said their new iPhone 15 Pro Max was going to be made with Grade 5 Titanium - I was flabbergasted. However... it turns out that the back glass of the Titanium iPhone 15 pro max isnt quite ready for prime time. Something is wrong with Apples new iPhone 15 Pro max.

He jokes but Apple was the first computer manufacturer to put USB-C on a laptop and is largely responsible for USB-C’s rapid adoption. It is silly though how long it took them to bring it to the iPhone.

The stupid thing is the USB-C spec allows alternate modes. Two devices connected via USB-C can negotiate to use the USB data wires to carry signals other than USB. That's how HDMI, DisplayPort, and Thunderbolt (which is just PCIe) over USB-C work. Apple could easily have made a Lightning alternate mode and put a USB-C port on its phones 8 years ago, without losing compatibility with pre-existing Lightning devices.

It didn't fly under the radar, most likely Apple users genuinely agreed with his statement since they don't know any better

Plus they had to add USB-C port to iphones mostly because of the new EU rules, not by their will.
I remember having the HTC evo 3D when I was in high school, right around the same time I was first trying THC, but anyway I loved the 3D feature of the phone especially because the screen displayed images in 3D without needing special glasses or anything AND it had a *switch* that you could use to toggle the intensity of the 3Dness. I'm astounded at the thermal conductivity of that titanium or lack thereof the fact that you're holding the torch to it while you're holding it in your fingers is crazy
It might be because of the coating overtop the titanium not conducting heat as fast to his fingers. Or maybe he just has fingers of steel xD
yeah, i kept getting concerned at how close he was putting that flame, i guess that was his demonstration of it

Something that's interesting to note is that apple probably could have had a very wide variety of colors if they decided not to do the PVD coating. The process is a little complicated but you can anodize titanium to get quite a few unique colors.
They want to differentiate the pro line up and the normal line up. That's why the normal lineup gets some pastel colours which are still lacking any saturation or character. The pro lineup completely lacks character and is super minimal and meant for people who are serious and business oriented. We can hate Apple but they do know how to attract customers at every price point.
They will do that change later the year and bring iPhone 16pro😂😂😂
not in a mass producible way when you need color consistency among millions of products.
They do minimal changes each year and call it new. Theyre already working on the iphone 20
and it wouldn't scratch off that easily. Honestly, although I like the 15 pro's design, I rather go with the steel from previous years, as it is more resilient to scratches and the aluminum inner frame is clearly the weak spot.
The glass part is concerning considering how many people may keep their phone in a back pocket

It's interesting because I also saw numerous people fail to break it the same way and a mechanical test that stated it was able to withstand 100 pounds of force. So either he is jacked, or some of the previous tests weakened it structurally. Or the highly unlikely chance that he got a bad model.
This hurts my souls 🤣 but I still come to watch it every time
I'm not surprised that there are complaints already about scratched phones. Not only does it seem pretty effortless, the scratches are also really noticeable
yeah the coating is terrible. Not that I'm an engineer who would know anything about it, but I wonder why they even offer alternative color options to the natural finish when the coating comes off so easily. Their excuses to not color the titanium itself don't really hold up when compromising the durability of the colored phone's coating
What percentage of iPhone users buy a cover and add a screen protector? It defeats the issues.
@@sosuaevents That shouldn't be a solution for a phone that expensive. Also, if this scratches easily, even a little kernel of sand may scratch your phone WHILE in the case. So say goodbye to your research value, cause these issues will still happen
That's why they made "natural titanium" an option in the first place, and also why they made the back glass so easily removable:
Apple knew these things would be an issue and instead of designing a better phone where these things wouldn't happen they just said "lol" and ignored them
I've got the natural titanium exactly because I was expecting the coating to be scratch able. Titanium is hard to coat.
I bet that engineers were forced to apply a coating because of the design and marketing team telling that it MUST have color options.
The back glass went so fast I imagine you could accomplish the same result with it in your pocket. Apple needs to address this issue ASAP.
If it costs money they won't
they did , they said pay 200$ everytime you break it. it is easily reparable so 200$ it is.
@@yashthakar9441 so they are aware of the problem but their solution is less expensive replacements?
@@Nohiro.3D No. They'll just shift to another market. Gamers did this with Nvidia GPUs and Nvidia doubled down and moved further into the AI market. They make more money, and you get nothing.
I think they may have built weak glass as it is easily repairable so Apple can earn more in replacements.
7:26 iPhone 16 we hope to be more resistant for Jerry's hands😂
At 2:55 Roast was EPIC 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
