Kobe said the same thing on the Knuckleheads podcast. There’s no tactics in today’s offense, just drive and kick/read and react. Not a lot of set plays that break off into multiple actions depending on the defensive sets. It was more of a chess match back then
Yes, which is why the Triangle worked in Jordan’s day. And why Golden State with their Motion Offense (picks, runs on the backside) works so well in this era. When it’s the 4th quarter and dudes zero in on the best player, you need tactical skill to win
What as opposed to the 90s where it was back down your opponent for 20 secs and score. This idea that teams back then were running sophisticated offenses is so laughable
Chris’ idea of the basketball league champions playing against each other is literally Champions League Soccer. It’s a phenomenal idea and would grow the game even more. Imagine Barca vs GSW or Fenerbache vs Milwaukee👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 With streaming and team/national pride on the line…absolute box office 🎉🎉🎉💯
The most physical series was probably the nets series especially the first 3 games. That was straight up street ball tactics I like it but my issue is you need to allow teams to adjust to that. You can't just completely change the officiating from the regular season to playoffs. So maybe after the all-star game they can start the change
You mean skill and not just tackling people when they drive…? Yeah, that is a bit more entertaining to me when watching basketball. I genuinely cannot imagine thinking people just slamming each other to the ground every time there’s a drive is what someone would consider good basketball.
@@rickyrobby8133 that's bad basketball. You can definitely allow some hand checking or at least more body to body contact. Those hard fouls are not basketball.
@Beery so…? People don’t watch tv the same way they used to. The 3 most watched finale of shows ever to this day are shows that either began or ended in the late 80s or early 90s. Also, modern tv rating systems do not account for illegal streaming. People had nothing to do back then except watch a few popular shows and sports. Today you have the entire internet and dozens of different popular networks putting out exclusive content. It’s like comparing McDonalds market share today to the 1950s when they were the only fast food place and concluding McDonalds isn’t as big as it used to be. It’s called market saturation, if there are more options no one company is going to dominate the market the way it might if there were less. It doesn’t mean the company isn’t expanding or more profitable than it if not.

FACTS!!!! Went to the court with some old timers (all of use in our 40's) and we destroyed the young ones. All they wanted to do is place solo. "Give me the rock". I don't have to score for our team to win. We played basic team basketball. They were pissed. Lost every game, and then they commented "that's old man basketball". So we replied "we won every game. @@dreamcage1801 So being able to stand in the paint is playing defense. A shorter court meaning less space to cover is better defense? If anything NBA defense is harder then Euro while scoring is harder in the Euro than NBA
I saw this in the Olympics of 2004. The style was so familiar, I recognized the it based how physical they played and how the refs DID NOT blow the whistle as often. That was a sign that the rest of the world took notes during ‘92.
Don't get it twisted. That 2004 USA team was badly put together. Lebron and Melo sat on the bench for the most part. It was more on us than how Argentina played
Exactly the 92 dream was basketball at its core play D get the ball fast break run lanes pt guard will find you that style of play will never die and will prevail they do that in high school given the opportunity to run the Euros caught on 30 years later lolololol!!! but these NBA coaches now need to go back to the basics Iverson was robbed
This is just more evidence that the 90s and early 2000s would be hard for these current players. Giannis basically described old school basketball. The talent isn't what it is today, but there was less space and it was more physical.
Is there really more talent or is it a lot easier to score? Scoring seems to be what people call talent now. Hardly anybody plays D anymore. Below average players can easily score 20 now.
@@cotati76 they don’t play D because it’s way harder guarding a steph curry from 35 out when he can shoot at any split second or drive if you give him space. Not to mention if someone helps he got Klay wide open ready to bomb a three. defense was played inside the 3 back than.
Like Giannis said there isn’t a lot of talent like today so they are forced to play this way. Don’t you think NBA teams would adopt some of these play styles? But no because they’ll get torched
As a guy that played in college and have friends that have played in college and in the NBA the euro game is different. No defensive 3 seconds, and can knock the ball off the rim. Floor is condensed, no flopping, etc it's like an advanced college. Many NBA guys say it was harder to score in college than the nba
It's easier to score in the NBA because guys have better teammates. If people on Shaq's LSU team could shoot like Robert Horry,Brian Shaw or Dennis Scott then he wouldn't have been quadruple teamed as much.
I’m new to the nba (since 2012) and even I can see the game is tough to watch these days. No post game anymore, just 3s.. spurs 2013/14 was an absolutely beautiful way to be a 3 point based team. Now everyone chucks 3s
2014 Spurs are one of the most impressive teams ever. They would give the 2017 Warriors everything they could handle. Hell in 2017 before Kawhi went down (without Tony Parker) spurs had a 25 pt lead mid 3rd quarter vs the Warriors. Kawhi was at like 60%.
Yep! Hey, if you never seen game 5 of 1999 finals, it is a must watch! I'm serious, Tim Duncan was in his 2nd year and was by far the most valuable and best player in the floor (and it wasn't close). He was great in all areas as a rookie as well. Duncan's defense has always been elite and he is one of the best defensive players ever. You have to watch his offensive low post game, passing, touch around the rim, and basketball IQ. The only player I've seen who had hands, IQ, and skill like that on offense as a rookie and 2nd year player was Larry Bird. It wasn't a coincidence that both players led their teams to titles in their 2nd year, and won multiple titles with different teams. P.S. Even players like MJ, Kobe, and Lebron took several years to develop team games. I never saw Russell, but my dad & grandpa told me he was one of the most valuable players on both ends from the first day he stepped on NBA court.
*"FIBA rules" actually allow more physicality* in the game, similar (but not exactly the same) to the old school "no harm no foul" rules. That's what he was pertaining to. That's a fact. He's not saying that the level of the competition in the NBA is lower. In terms of individual skills and talent, of course the NBA players are at the highest level.
Only thing Fiba needs is 12min/quarter and better referees and 15 Player Roster cause of the physicallity in the game and short breaks during the tournaments.
In Europe bias calls sometimes occur but they're about teams and not players. Sometimes teams like Real Madrid or Barcelona for example get somewhat friendly whistles. That's especially true when you have homecourt advantage
Lebron also said it’s easier to score now than when he first came in the League. NBA needs to make adjustments to the rules to add more nuance to the game. I loved that about the 90’s. Players scoring on all three levels. Physical defense. Etc.
When LBJ entered it was the toughest era because you had zones and no more illegal defence rule and they had not made some of the adjustments they have now scoring started going back up towards 2010 now this is due to some rule changes and players superior shooting
Euro ball is def more physical but it really isn’t hard to understand. Smaller court=less ground to cover on D=what jokic and giannis said when u see help quicker…, no defensive 3 secs=packed paint, shorter 3 pt. Line, less talent overall=more grinders for D. This is self explanatory and has no bearing on the better league 🤷🏽♂️ not to mention they said there’s obviously more talent in the nba. Chris mentioned all this in the beginning.
Facts. I don't even know why they try to compare the 90s and modern era because the guys of this "modern soft era" are still blowing the doors off of any Euro team who are evoking more gritty play.
And the avg rotation player is shooting like 38% from 3, which means less helping off shooters. Outta those 3 "euros", only giannis made it to the finals so far. They all usually lose to tougher and better team oriented clubs in the playoffs.
Fact or no fact, the Euro players owned the current NBA with multiple MVPs. It’s good to try to defend American players and their softness, but give credit where it dues. They’re playing in OUR court with our RULES vs our most SKILLED players, yet owning multiple NBA MVPs multiple years in a row

Having been an official basketball referee for the past 11 years and a lover of sport history, Statistics, Science and History in whole, we've have to know that first of all that: 1- NBA is an entertaining sport while the EuroBasket or any Euroleague is a maximizing sport(focusing more on every tactical possibility to win a basketball game). You just think of it, if necessary they can apply ZONE DEFENSE throughout an entire game,if they notice man to man is going to annihilate their team. 2- The NBA thinks what makes their best players make them win a game, EuroBasket think what is favourable for a team to win, not necessarily in function to the best basketball player if it is not the best option to win a game, but even in functions to the best players if that is among the probability to win the game knowing that this probability has to be higher than the other probabilities which does not include the best player function to win a game. In other words, in the NBA not every player is treated as a threat, only 2 or 3 are, in the EuroBasket every player is threated as a potential threat so they are more defensively active and are all over the place. BRIEF HISTORY: GSW is the maximizing of EuroBasket(Barcelona Basketball team started this game. In fact it's fun how the lakers in 2008-2010 struggle with them in pre-season. Immediately after 2010 the Lakers stopped against the Dallas who adopted that Barcelona game style, then the GSW standardized it. ) To be Frank this way of playing team sport making faster passes than the team body can adjust in other to create A ROTATIONAL ADVANTAGE of making the difensive individual players having to rotate to catch up(remember a moving ball is always impossible for a body to stay behind, this is what creates the rotation delay that gives spaces to good shooters like Curry, Thompson and Ray Allen to prolifically score) started back with Brazilian soccer team in the 90's which dominated 90's soccer decade, then got adopted by the Barcelona soccer team dominating for a decade the European highest soccer league- Known as the Champions League, then translated to the Barcelona Basketball team who dominated European Euroleague (the highest basketball league in Europe)then to the Dallas Basketball team which annihilate the Lakers to win their 2011 and got standardize by the GSW to dominate these decades. However the USA national basketball tends to dominate the Euro National teams in the Olympics and World cup Just because their team being loaded with 15 HIGHLY POTENTIAL THREAT PLAYERS(the USA learn their lessons in the 2004 Olympics game), rather than the 3/4 threat of an European National team or an NBA team, makes double team rotating defense not to be so effective, because living open an All-Start player as Stephen Curry to double on a Kevin Durant is more destructive than guarding them one on one, which by the way is not easier because individually these 15 Best NBA players are superior to every other European individual Player(EXCEPTION MADE FOR GIANNIS-LUKA AND JOKIC). So this why the EuroBasket defense is effective on national teams like Greece-Slovenia and Serbia where their potential threat is 1 or 2 guys maximum and NOT EFFECTIVE on the USA national basketball team which has 15 highly potential threats. 3- And my last point, which is more of a psychological one. The NBA plays 48 minute a game, EuroBasket plays 40 minutes a game. The NBA has almost a quarter more game than the EuroBasket, and this make the margin of error in an NBA game to be higher than in the EuroBasket. In other terms: in the EuroBasket you can't permit yourself to mistake to much because you have 40 minutes to correct your errors than the 48 minutes in the NBA to correct your mistakes. And in a Basketball game 8 minutes is way long, almost another quarter of game 😉.
Essentially he's explaining everything MJ experienced and went through in a league where MJ dominated on the highest level. 🙄 He's not lying about it being a harder league over there than the current era of NBA basketball. It's clearly obvious, hence why their superstars in the Euro league come here and are some of best players we've seen ball. This is why the MJ vs LBJ is really not a debate to have because the 3(80's, 90's, early 2000's) era's of basketball MJ played in are FAR more harder/challenging than what LBJ played or plays in today. It just is what it is 💯
Lebron was literally drafted in 2004, so he still dominated for 6 years in the "FAR more challenging era". Are you one of those clowns who think Lebron would struggle in the 90's?
They’re impressed by his detailed answers. Only in America do people say a lot without saying anything. In Asia and Africa, you speak little but every word means something

A World championship basketball tournament would be so dope. One of the best ideas I've heard in a while. Also, I keep hearing people complain about the game but the players are not at fault. They play the game within the rules. Blame the NBA for setting the tone.
All of them are exactly right. We've been saying the NBA rules have the made the game easier and softer. Guys get away traveling and carrying their ass off. Palming the ball all over the place. Wide open lanes, no defensive 3 seconds, can't touch anybody. But guys want to drool over guys handles today. I mean I guess so if I could carry the ball all over the place, Id be a wizard with the ball too. MJ is the greatest scorer of all time by any metric. Of course he could get 40 ppg. That's probably his floor, smh.
They did it on 2010, but FC Barcelona (euro champ) won against the lakers (nba champ). This didn't suit well in the nba pride, so I don't think they are repeating anytime soon
An interesting thing to note is that they're only talking about on the offensive side of the court. Because of the rules and spacing and talent, it's a lot harder on the defensive side in the NBA.
If yall noticed this last year the nba changed a couple rules and gave the offensive player a little less leverage. These playoffs where physical for modern basketball. I think they've realized they've gone to far emphasizing offensive and are trying to slowly correct it and find a happy medium. Ratings will forever drive the product though.
But they only did it work for 3 or 4 weeks, in the playoffs players were physicall and get in faul troubels very soon because referes did eant NBA wants... Have guys on 30 PPG I love Doncic, but there is no way that he has the same average in playoffs than Jordan man.
they still alow it lol. giannis still able to gather and take 2 steps after. the refs still call bs fouls. its the spacing and defensive rules that makes it harder to score today. idk about old fiba rules when it comes to fouls. The court is still smaller than nba and no defensive 3 sec rule which helps defense
the biggest thing is that there's no limit to how long defenders can stand in the paint. that's why the floor ends up feeling more congested in FIBA-rules basketball. that's what jokic is saying about the help already being there all the time in the international game, whereas in the NBA the help usually can't coms over til after you beat your ma cuz they have to worry about defensive 3-in-the-key
You also have the European fans, they make the games way more intense, your coach has to scream at you for you to even hear him. The fans are a major part of the teams in Europe they can and will decide the out come of the game.
@@Banks23 you guys say this like you have to guard every player from the three you really don't they're only a handful of great shooters in the league just because you can shoot it doesn't mean you should
They're right. It's a wide open game and everything is about stretching the floor (a major change from the 80s, 90s, early 2000s) . The European game has not changed to match that style and it shows. Also, there is way more physicality and less complaining
Did you watch the tournament, they complain all the time in the World Cup. Luka and his whole team were complaining. The Georgia versus Turkey game was filled with complaining and even a player was ejected.
@@Anthonystark63 dude, they was literally fighting after the Turkey and Georgia game, stop the 🧢. Luka complained in every game he played probably more than he does in the NBA because at least the NBA refs will give him a tech but they let him have his way in Europe

I think, if Euroleague could give similar salaries as the NBA, probably they will be competitive. Think about Giannis, Jogic, Doncic and probably some good American players in Europe, this would improve the teams and the other players and make them at a similar level but in a different way (because of rules). The higher salaries in Euroleague right now barely overcome the lowest in NBA.
This is the problem. Euroleague does not even make money to play euroleague salaries. Eurolrague is where rich people oeners spend their money, they dont get it back, they just dont care do it as a hobby, sudtainable salaries are much lower. Euroleague has to convince people to go and pay tickets.
in Europe there is the 3 second rule and traveling, the court is slightly smaller, and zone defense is really zone defense, you can use all kinds of variables like 3-2, 2-3, 1-2-2 , 1-3-1, Europe's basketball is more strategic, you need to have a solid base of basics and fundamentals and have knowledge and a good view of the game. A good basketball player must not only have a good physique and physical abilities, in Europe it is as important or even more important to be intelligent and have a vision of the game.
The biggest difference is that they don't have defensive 3 seconds in European basketball so big men can literally just stand in the middle of the court. It makes big men much more impactful
They’re speaking facts! Luka said the same thing when he first got into the league. The amount of space nba players have to operate now makes scoring easier than ever. European basketball is similar to the nba from 2000-2013
Did he say the guys on GS aren't the most talented in the world??? Draymond is one of the greatest defenders of all time. Klay is top 5 shooter of all time. And Steph is the greatest shooter in the history of existence and top 5 point guard of all time!!! That's world class talent.

If i'm not mistaken in the late 80s the nba champ used to play the top euro teams in some tournament and i remember the magic lakers lost a finals once and barely won the teams they beat, it was close many times.
You also forget that those players play for years together. So they know each other and know what others can do..... here it's just put people together and see what happens if we had more teams like the warriors keeping their cores together the nba would probably be harder because the teams would be more in tuned with each other instead of pieces just filling in.
The notion that the NBA doesn't play ANY defense is bogus. Fans, analysts, and the media were hailing the 2022 Boston Celtics as one of the greatest defensive teams of the modern era. Just because Curry did a number on them doesn't mean they weren't great. DPOY, two great wings, and being able to switch 1-5 is as great defensively as you can get.
I agree 100%, even though I never played in Europe. Teams seam to stay together longer and players don't seem to be as concerned about "brands" and only scoring points and filling up stat sheets. P.S. Why do you think the transition for players like Luka, Ginobili, and Jokic wasn't too hard. They were not as physically gifted, but knew how to play "team" basketball and they allow coaches to coach! Giannis is the same (although he is a freak athlete), even though he is not nearly as skilled as the best players. He works very hard, wants to win, and is able to be coached. P.S. Look at Tim Duncan (not from Europe) who never played AAU but played in Virgin Islands. Look at Dirk too, it is becoming more and more evident that playing in AAU is detrimental to the NBA.
The talent pool in Europe is far smaller and you have 3 Euro players in the top 5...it's the equivalent of having 3 Americans dominating soccer in Europe winning Ballon D'ors left and right. The best American soccer player Pullisic is a bench player in one of Europe's best teams..like what Euro players use to be 25 years ago in the NBA, basically role players, e.g. Kukoc the best euro in Jordan's time. That's not normal if you think about it.
What Giannis is not as skilled as the best players??? He is literally one of the most skilled on the both ends of the court. That's why the Bucks won and he was the MVP

You can't play defense in today's NBA. the court is too spread. You get away with traveling and carrying the ball. They don't run offensive sets only pick and roll. 80s, 90s and 2000s ball it was harder to score. Plus the NBA is too young and really don't understand the game. They depend on athleticism
jxmyhighroller did a video near the end of last season about the 3 possibly being too valuable, and he said that last season for the first time in league history a 2 point attempt was more valuable than a 3 point attempt. So the league is changing, we are remembering the importance of the midrange and playing team basketball. If you run them off the 3, the ball gets moving and you get layups. We don't need to go back to the way it was, things are changing, possibly for the good, let's see where it goes.
Hi Chris, actually it’s the same said by Dame Lillard in the last worlds. Less space, no 3sec rule in the defensive side of the paint, more physicality (nothing to do with violence).
Adam Silver ruined the NBA by making all these soft rules you can't even play defense. Everyone is out shooting 3s. Damn Steph Curry and Silver ruined the league.
This is why Miami gave Giannis so much issues his whole career and especially in the bubble. Heat and Raptors play good physical basketball. Celtics did under Ime, interested to see how they play this season.
The one thing that would destroy the Euro game is great shooting. When you hear the players talk about it (no defensive 3 seconds, double teams, etc.), a team like the Warriors would punish with their shooting ability and motion offense set up
@@StreetsAintNoMyth5 NBA teams have tried to do this to the Warriors for close to a decade now. You sound like Charles Barkley he said that exact phrase word for word before they won their first championship. The rules are different and less spacing so it’s more difficult to create and the skill level isn’t as high so players have to be more physically to catch up that’s how it was in the nba in the early 2000 more defensive minded teams less scoring and more team basketball because of it
All true. Look how well the Celtics did last year playing a team system. The Nets couldn't handle it. NBA is designed to be flashy and exciting, the NBA does not want to increase degree of difficulty.
Athleticism now is the same as back in the day but they play offense and defense back in the day that why it look like it's more athletic players today because they don't play defense
Part of the reason it’s harder for them is because they’re playing with 4 scrubs so the entire other team is focusing 100% on a Luka or Giannis and don’t care about their teammates scoring
The people in denial are the same people who still think the U.S is "the best country in the world." These are literally the 5 best players in the league right now. What they're saying is facts. Embarassing from the "so called" country with the best basketball talent. The majority of the 5 best players and the previous LEAGUE MVPs have been international players. U.S basketball is decling. The world has caught up.
I would go even further and say it's harder to score in college basketball than the NBA. Some of the best college players average around 17 a game. Rarely do you see a guy averaging an extremely high amount of points, and if he does it's often because he goes to a small school. College basketball games are more intense, physical, and they call less fouls.
Have you seen the sets they run in college lol? Also the court isn’t as big, the spacing is is not nearly as good. It’s just freaking hard to play defense in the nba. So does that mean that nba players would struggle against college players?

I wonder why some people dont agree with them. The 2 along with luka can easily pump their stats in the nba. But not in this league.
Having been an official basketball referee for the past 11 years and a lover of sport history, Statistics, Science and History in whole, we've have to know that first of all that:
1- NBA is an entertaining sport while the EuroBasket or any Euroleague is a maximizing sport(focusing more on every tactical possibility to win a basketball game).
BRIEF HISTORY:
GSW is the maximizing of EuroBasket(Barcelona Basketball team started this game. In fact it's fun how the lakers in 2008-2010 struggle with them in pre-season. Immediately after 2010 the Lakers stopped against the Dallas who adopted that Barcelona game style, then the GSW standardized it. )
To be Frank this way of playing team sport making faster passes than the team body can adjust in other to create A ROTATIONAL ADVANTAGE of making the difensive individual players having to rotate to catch up(remember a moving ball is always impossible for a body to stay behind, this is what creates the rotation delay that gives spaces to good shooters like Curry, Thompson and Ray Allen to prolifically score) started back with Brazilian soccer team in the 90's which dominated 90's soccer decade, then got adopted by the Barcelona soccer team dominating for a decade the European highest soccer league- Known as the Champions League, then translated to the Barcelona Basketball team who dominated European Euroleague (the highest basketball league in Europe)then to the Dallas Basketball team which annihilate the Lakers to win their 2011 and got standardize by the GSW to dominate these decades.
He's not lying about it being a harder league over there than the current era of NBA basketball.

Damn, the Professor would be screwed in Europe too then..
the biggest thing is that there's no limit to how long defenders can stand in the paint. that's why the floor ends up feeling more congested in FIBA-rules basketball. that's what jokic is saying about the help already being there all the time in the international game, whereas in the NBA the help usually can't coms over til after you beat your ma cuz they have to worry about defensive 3-in-the-key

Dirk Manu tony parker pau Gasol to a phenom like Luka donic who can do anything on the court typical modern day forward. yes, the game is easier for guys like him to score because of his evolved skillset and the kind of player that he is. It all depends on the kind of player you are everybody is not going to dominate
@@ryanr20091 how is it off topic did you listen to the video? The style of basketball that the European players are playing right now is similar to the styles of the 80s and 90s. They style of European basketball back in the days weren't what it is now. It used to be about finese in the euro leagues but now the game is different over there too.
@@PrettyboyPa No it isn't they don't even play by the same rules nor have the same talent Jokic, nor Giannis ever made the comparison to the 80s or 90s yall did lol. You just jumped to conclusions along with Rob and Chris instead of listening to what was actually stated. when did Luka Giannis or Jokic make a 90s comparison? You heard what you wanted to hear
That's an AMAZING business pitch! A World League. The winner gets the world cup. Man that'd sell so many PPVs, break attendance and viewer records. I'd love to see that. One can only dream
@@jimmykarlsson2567 Well, he is the hardest worker and was blessed with athleticism and height. I'm from Milwaukee and a Bucks and Giannis fan. However, while being a good passer and dribbler for his size, he is not close to players like Magic and Bird.
When it comes to shooting, Giannis is below average by NBA standards. He struggle outside of 10 ft and is a poor FT shooter.
Don't get me wrong, if I had to pick a player today, it would be Giannis.
Ginobli wasn't physically gifted? People will say anything online.

It is a harder game. Don’t need as much athleticism overseas more quick decision making
That's because the talent is not as good. One of the best players in Europe is Shane Larkin, he was cut by the Mavericks but he's a MVP and champion in Europe
@@williamphillips3035 Shane Larkin has never won an MVP in the EuroLeague. That's a myth that some NBA fans talk about, but it's not true. Larkin has won 2 EuroLeague championships, but he was not the best player on his team. Vasa Micic was the best player on the team and in fact he won a league MVP and two finals MVPs. Micic did that, not Larkin. Some NBA fans have created a myth about Larkin in Europe. However, it's not based on reality or fact.

Euro league would get punished if they were in the NBa,nobody on this page would have them winning a chip.
You can't play defense in today's NBA. the court is too spread. You get away with traveling and carrying the ball. They don't run offensive sets only pick and roll. 80s, 90s and 2000s ball it was harder to score. Plus the NBA is too young and really don't understand the game. They depend on athleticism
And Giannis is the king of traveling so your point is.

jxmyhighroller did a video near the end of last season about the 3 possibly being too valuable, and he said that last season for the first time in league history a 2 point attempt was more valuable than a 3 point attempt. So the league is changing, we are remembering the importance of the midrange and playing team basketball. If you run them off the 3, the ball gets moving and you get layups. We don't need to go back to the way it was, things are changing, possibly for the good, let's see where it goes.
Somehow someway the convo always gets back to “But Micheal Jordan” 😂🤦🏾♂️💯
When you hear the players talk about it (no defensive 3 seconds, double teams, etc.), a team like the Warriors would punish with their shooting ability and motion offense set up
Yep…. Sounds like steph would dominate
Yep…. Sounds like steph would dominate
And get punished in the paint and on the boards. Aint like they cant shoot. Plus its no just walking into logo threes, less spacing.
@@StreetsAintNoMyth5 but if you remember the playoffs the warriors were actually doing really well in the paint
@@StreetsAintNoMyth5 NBA teams have tried to do this to the Warriors for close to a decade now. You sound like Charles Barkley he said that exact phrase word for word before they won their first championship.
Small ball started to take over because what you’re saying did not work against the Warriors, so some teams started copying them.
Facts!!!!!! No defense in the NBA
Chris and rob wrong on this one and completely misunderstood what Giannis said even tho he spelled it out in detail perfectly smh
The rules are different and less spacing so it’s more difficult to create and the skill level isn’t as high so players have to be more physically to catch up that’s how it was in the nba in the early 2000 more defensive minded teams less scoring and more team basketball because of it
As an NBA fan, I have to say the NBA has gotten soft.
All true. Look how well the Celtics did last year playing a team system. The Nets couldn't handle it. NBA is designed to be flashy and exciting, the NBA does not want to increase degree of difficulty.
Giannes is by far my favorite player in the NBA. He’s a real one.
Did you listen to what he said? It’s not the 80s or 90s anymore.

College players suck at offense anyone who is unbiased will say
Giannis , makes a good point and explains himself.
I like how do you do keep it real in the real one's barely get their own TV show we know that.. especially in these days

Today's NBA became too trivial. Isos, picknrolls, screens for 3s, that's it. The most funny thing is to see commentators praising great ball movement, when the players just pass the ball beyond the arch to eventually have an averagely contested 3-pointer. That's what NBA has become
