It’s not just the 3s…it’s the traveling…the carrying…the double dribbles….the flopping…the touch fouled leading to no defense…the constant bitching and complaining to the refs…no midrange….no paint play…no offensive plays being run for individual players strengths. The product on the court is utter GARBAGE. You might as well program some AI powered robots and just watch them chuck up 3s…because that’s about how f’ing boring these games are to watch.

Agreed, but class exists. They’ve always been privileged, overpaid, and out of touch with normal people. The difference now is the rules and style of play have made it a poor television product, and players have a level of power to force trades that made it harder for small markets to keep stars. They’ve tried to address the latter, but they’re still reluctant to throttle back the rules being skewed towards the offense. They’ll likely cap three point attempts per game, move the 3 point line back, and/or eliminate the corner 3’s , but they’ll wait until the networks complain to them…..not fans.

Watch all these so called “great dribblers” in slow motion sometime…literally every single one of them is palming, carrying, traveling, sliding pivot feet, pushing off with their off arm, lowering their shoulder and running into defenders like they’re a freaking NFL running back, etc etc. They’re not more skilled..they’re actually LESS skilled because they never learned how to play the right way and the rules of the game were never enforced for them. They’ve literally played their entire careers the wrong way and have never been corrected.

beyond all the things discussed that are hurting the nba, let me add many casual fans don’t look at nba players as tough. the constant flopping , the constant acting like you were run over by a truck and rolling on the floor to get foul calls. lebron james, one of the faces of the league is on the floor in some form of false pain every game. how many times we gotta watch the guy lay of the floor for 5 minutes covering his face because he got hit on the tip of his nose. never any blood, never a scratch, but rolls around in agony to jump up a shoot free throws. these guys are movie stars with acting some of them do. now add load management and constant injuries that keep players out makes them look like athletes stealing checks and public resents that.
people don’t question the toughness or heart of nfl players but they do with nba. this is why so many fans still talk about 80s and 90s nba, people viewed the players as tough in a physical league. now we got 7 footers that won’t touch the paint and stand at the 3 point arch looking to jack a three pointer.

Local teams aren't on local tv. You buy league pass and they black out the local team(s) and national tv games. They've made it a pain in the ass to watch. Why can't I pay X amount and stream all the Lakers (or X team) games?

Amazing how they put ALL the blame on Curry!!!! But fail to mention Lebum and his flops, his travels, his carry, his constant bitching, his no defense, him leaving to create super teams. None of that gets mentioned but you’re going to pick on Curry who actually practiced and harnessed his skill to become great. But no mention on how Lebum has made the league soft? Or how the lakers take the most free throws and the refs are the cause. But Curry is the problem!?
That’s why no one respects shows like this

It seems like no matter what they do. It’s gonna be a problem. It seems like to me that black men making money just irks certain people the same way, no matter what they’re doing. Here are a couple things I would do to fix the NBA:
-Go to a 60 game season. I keep saying this less is more. The playoffs is already really long. You don’t need 82 games make the regular season matter.
-Too many teams make the playoffs and now with the playin it’s absurd. Half the conference shouldn’t make the playoffs.
-Zero rivalries. Bring back the importance of divisional play where the majority of your schedule is against divisional area opponents. This creates rivalries.
-If you want to resolve the over use of threes bring back the true Zone defense. When they took that away and create defensive three seconds they took away the defense ability to counter these spread offenses.

They should be allowed to play hard defense and push each other. Just punches ok that’s the line. Football the refs let them push each other after the play real quick. Basketball is not a mans game anymore

Coaching. No teams have a disciplinarian at the coach anymore that will knock out this fast break three pointer pattern. And be courageous enough to limit the amount of three pointers taken per game in exchange for free throws and post dominant play. The N.B.A. needs a coach disciplined enough to go against the wave of the three pointer and be the current underneath the wave that changes the direction of the tide back to standard play, where Point Guards are Point Guards and not "Small Guards".😎

If the three point shot is a problem here’s something to consider, you shoot a three and make it of course it counts for three points. On the other hand if you take a three point shot and miss it then you’d lose three points. That possibly would reduce the number of attempts.

It's uncompetitive and there is nothing entertaining about the NBA. Magic, MJ, Bird, Rodman, Barkley, Dream, Penny, Iverson, Kobe, Shaq, all of these guys were great, they were entertaining, and exciting to watch. They were all different. Today, every player is the same. Lacking creativity, making poor reads, not playing defense, lacking passion, always posing for the camera. Lack of competition, too much team hopping, load management and players more worried about their brand and not the game. That's why no one is watching the games anymore they're more friendships than rivalries and the games don't have build up. Most just check scores after games because they don't live up to the hype. Lastly orchestrated officiating to pick winners and losers or to keep games close where clearly one team is better than the other.

It has more to do than just Curry and the 3's. It has to do with Adam Silver removing defense and the competitiveness of the game. It has to do with LeBron not joining the dunk contest, making other stars not want to join. It has to do with LeBron joining other stars removing competition. It has to do with these sudden rule changes on taking 3 steps is not a travel, because it's a gather step. Load management is also a huge problem. You pay to see a game to only find out that your favorite player is not playing. There is no difference from watching the NBA or watching the Globetrotters.

Dudes, for me the simplest explanation is that the regular season isn't worth ish. 70+ games and most of the teams still qualify for the playoffs. NFL has fewer games, each means more. In soccer overseas each game is worth points and the "playoffs" is a whole other league which is the champions league (super fkn exciting) thats basically an international competition from the best performers in each of Europe's bigger leagues. Fix the NBA regular season, it's as simple as that.
