One thing I love about Charles in telling his story is how he had enough self-awareness to know when he was doing something wrong or was holding on to emotional pain that wasn't helping him and made a change for the better. Not everyone does this.

I met Moses Malone in Houston in 1994. He had a Jeep that needed to have the slide rails moved back to give him leg room. My uncle Hans Gottwald worked on his car. My uncle ran I his house and asked me if I knew who Moses was..I said yes..Hans was like...He's here would you like to meet him...I met him and got his autograph and a photo with him. “The first time u tell them no they hate you” Felt that to my core. I’ve helped lot of people in my life sometimes out of very bad situations. No matter how bad of jam I got them out of they forgot all about it once they had a new problem. It never ends.
First 6 minutes, just listening to Charles talk......much respect. Kinda surprised. I know he is a serious person, but he really is a solid guy at the core.
I really enjoyed this conversation as I have learned a lot about things I did no know and I am 63 years old. Shannon is simply great! and Barkley is really a cool person.
One of the best Charles Barkley interviews/discussions. Sir Charles was very genuine. Shannon Sharpe was excellent with allowing Charles to talk while also responding and asking a probing question occasionally. Excellent quality all the way around.

Thought I was gonna listen to this for about 10 mins while getting ready for work, couldn’t let it go. One of the best interviews of the year. 🙌🏼 laughing, crying, celebrating.
It's crazy to me how much you think you know about someone when there was a media narrative like the "I'm not a role model" Nike commercials. Conveying how Chuck didn't care about anything when in fact he's one of the more sensitive people and really he was just trying to show people not everyone can be a pro athlete but can still do great things in life. Then openly talking about crying on different occasions and showing he's at touch with his feelings as well as the humility he shows consistently. Great interview

Two HOF country boys having a convo, im here for it
this was a great interview, love hearing Chuck speak in formats like this where he can speak freely...
Great interview, this guest was a great one to get over the previous one.
He speaks freely any and everywhere 😂😂😂
@@MichaelSimmons-z5c lol not quite, he never has this type of freedom on TNT... when he get too fiery Ernie cuts to a commercial or they tell Shaq or Kenny in their earphone to chime in before Chuck says something that upsets someone... why you think they wear those earphones? It's so the producers can speak to them.
@@Jaytrick LOL, lawd hammercy... I'm sure Unc aint gotta worry about Chuck going on social media making a hold bunch of accusations about being attacked and dismissed while on the show, smh!
I was never a basketball fan, but I have always been a Charles Barkley fan. He is amazingly self-aware and emotionally intelligent. He’s funny, honest, and comes from a place of goodwill. He is just delightful.
I love Charles Barkely. He has such good character and wisdom.
Charles Braley, I loved the interview.. I just want show Gratitude to you for always acknowledge my cousin Moses Malone in a lot of your interviews. I salute you
@valerieedwards7832. I was born in 1980 and loved watching your cousin as a kid in the mid 80’s. I’m a Bulls fan and in the mid to late 80’s, the Bulls had a hard time beating Charles, Mr. Malone and the rest of the 76ers
@vincedidiana5781 Yes, I loved the game back then. They took the 76ers to the promised land.
It was one of the greatest moments in my life.

Charles Barkley is My Favorite Player of All Time!!! And My Favorite Commentator of All Time!!!
This is the kind of conversation that makes me want to watch Club Shay Shay. It was great. Keep giving us these kind of interviews.
Exactly 💯
Charles is great been watching him since day one in the NBA. He is one of my favorite players and played with some of my favorite players. Dr. J, Moses Malone and Hakeem Olajuwon. Those are some great life lesson advise for all.
It’s amazing to hear guest come on and say “I’m sitting here on Club Shay Shay.” That’s the level of respect and honor Shannon has evolved too 🔥
I love Chuck and Shannon is an amazing individual. His rookie year at camp gave me an autograph when I was really down about being rejected by a Bronco great. His smile and kind words really helped out a 12 year old Colorado kid. Thank you Shannon!
Chuck telling his story about starting & quitting football after one practice gets me every time 😂🤣🤣
The coach said
Ok boys I'll see u tomorrow
CHARLES said
WHAT!!!! WE DOING THIS AGAIN? 😂🤣
He said... nope football is not for me😁
too funny
Yep he always has his go-to stories in every podcast, talk show, etc. but the way he re-tells always gets me 😂😂😂
Thank you for the opportunity coach... but this ain't for me. 😂😂😂😂
I saw this comment exactly at the time I watched that bit and I was CRYING so hard! Hahaha
Charles Barkley is one of the most authentic people on Earth. What you see is what you get and I LOVE that about any person
The humility, kindness, and genuine respect Charles shows to those who came before him, and those who can after him, is inspiring. He's lifting everyone up, not a word of hatin, or throwin shade. Absolutely love this, extremely encouraging and a breath of fresh air, from how people hold each other down.
Shannon we like the RAW INTERVEW!! Cussin and all. Listening to the guests truely expressing themselves is what we LOVE!!! All these edits takes the ENERGY AND FUN
Agreed

Rather this than listening to Cardi B rap about her 🐈 for 3 minutes!
@@Dw-rb5yl bruh what are you yappin about
FACTS 💯
I can’t lie we need this duo to connect at least every 6 months 😅
Shannon's laugh is so contagious 😂 great interview!
His laugh is different.
Charles Barkley always stood on business. He deserves his flowers
I don't care what anyone says about Shannon Sharpe, Unk's interviews are great ‼️‼️‼️
True because his delivery is more like a genuine conversation!
I’m glad this interviewed happened. Glad to hear Charles speak and open up on this platform.
I’m. It a Charles Barkley fan but he just drop a ton of great info and nuggets. I just shared this interview with my 17 yr old grandson that plays football in HS, is a junior and has received 16 full scholarship offers from colleges!!!!!
Thanks Shannon…thanks Mr. Barkley
Amen 🙏🏼
Wow, that’s a lot of scholarships! Congratulations.
“The first time u tell them no they hate you” Felt that to my core. I’ve helped lot of people in my life sometimes out of very bad situations. No matter how bad of jam I got them out of they forgot all about it once they had a new problem. It never ends.
There just aren’t enough words to say how wonderful this conversation was. Thank you both.
This was beautiful interview and helped me grow even more as a young man I’m 26 years old and I love getting wisdom from the older heads. Thank you for the knowledge!!💯
I listened to the audio version last night, but the interview was so good, I want to see the interactions. Charles Barkley is an American treasure.
An American Iconoclast 👍🏋️♂️💪🏿🙏🏾.
@@nzuixthat’s a perfect word to describe him. Ever since the role model commercial.
These are 2 of the most respectable, humble, and wholesome humans beings in sports at this point in time. They may have not always been that way when they were younger, but over the years, they have grown and gained the wisdom to be the great personalities and human beings they are today. Truly 2 great athletes and people in the business. I love both of these guys. God Bless them both.
That was a great session. Sir Barkley is straight forward, unpretentious and humble. Such great rapport between Mr. Sharpe and Sir Barkley.
I admire everyone who has a real job, but I don't want one........most underrated comment ever......Sir Charles
I met Barkley a couple of times. He’s a nice man. I use to see him walking around downtown Atlanta all the time.
I have to say this is one of the best interview/conversations, I've ever seen! So we'll done and great topics and so interesting. I just love Charles and how real he is. Always says it how it is. Never shy too share his own shortcomings. Or to help people to improve in their own life. Two great men right here.
Shannon, another great interview for the books! Thank you Charles for opening up and allowing us to see the great man that you are!
Love how he talked about himself and what he learned and would do differently.
Yes!!!!
Thought I was gonna listen to this for about 10 mins while getting ready for work, couldn’t let it go. One of the best interviews of the year. 🙌🏼 laughing, crying, celebrating.
Bro putting Alabama on! Everybody watching that are/were from Alabama should appreciate this man.
I a good experience in Alabama!
Charles is such an inspiration! I grew up in Leeds, AL for a while and we lived right around the corner from his grandma ❤ Such a nice family 😊
This is one of the best interviews I have ever listened to. There is so much wisdom here. Should be required video for ALL student athletes.
I just love Charles so much! He is so real and I always feel good after watching him on any platform. He is one of a kind.❤
Those commercials where not about not caring about anything. The commercials where about not putting athletes on a Pedestal.
