Seeing Pete with the 12's and a mixer had me on my "I'm going to be a DJ" one day. Love you Pete and Common, excited to hear the new project!! Big up to drink champs🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

i love how Pete and Common have kinda child-like friendship quality energy, like when you and your friend in elementary or junior high hung-out. Theyre both unique legends but there's a joyfulness of them together. Besides the beauty ot this era of new collabs between established vets, (CL just dropped a track with Peter Gunz) and Nas and Preem etc-- it's to see grown men have joy and creativity and reverence.

The legends discussed on this platform created our culture! Good or bad, this is who we are! This is reminiscent of my college days as a little Maryland girl at Morgan State University where our college parties were comprised of every legend mentioned on this platform. A time that I will never forget and an era that made me appreciate music made just for us! This show was AMAZING and took me down a path full of memories that made me who I am today! What a GIFT to our culture!!!! Thank you Drink Champs!!!! And don’t be mad at Common for choosing KRS-One. KRS-One was a teacher, taught us to appreciate “us” as a people, and aligned with the Black church which was very much aligned with Black culture…..as Common Mentioned! KRS-One made us feel empowered and like Black people were actually in the Bible, I understand why he chose KRS-One over Rakim!

In 1994, Pete Rock was not embraced as an ICONIC CREATIVE. Atlantic Records thought that his process was TOO ELABORATE and many people told me that the streets didn't UNDERSTAND his CLEAN ELEGANCE. Well, here we are, A MILLION YEARS LATER, and PETE ROCK IS ONE OF THE GREAT ELDER SPIRITS.. I give thanks that i was FORTUNATE enough to KNOW BETTER.. Pete was prolific then, and MUSICALLY MONUMENTAL NOW. And that guy COMMON?!? This is about to be music to CELEBRATE LIFE. Yeah, it's always darkest before THE DAWN. IN THE PRECIOUS NAME OF JESUS, I AM GRATEFUL FOR THIS DYNAMIC DUO. The F.O.R.C.E. IS STRONG WITH these 2. Long Live THE GOLDEN SACRED ART FORM.🔥♾️🔥
