I like Gilbert but if Giannis has accomplished all that he has without understanding how to play then he’s the greatest basketball player that has ever played
Even if Giannis retired last year without a championship he would have a better career then arenas. So I don't know why arenas' criticism carry any value at all. Arenas knows how to be great? so why is he just good? in 20 years no one would remember arenas (except his gun problem), just like we forget kiki vandeweghe. Good but not great.
Nah that's lebron because I'm constantly reminded that he can't shoot, has no go to moves, can only play bully ball but somehow will be the all time leading scorer ever.
he went 17/19 at the free throw line to win his first ring. he’s improving every year at something. people hate giannis because their scared of him actually getting better

He has no prior connection with anyone his peers or older players thru AAU, no college, or proam, or private gym runs, or at Chris Paul or other pro summer camps when he was a teen. He just showed up the year he got drafted. Funniest part is that Jokic has same problems as Iannis: he's the foreign guy who rarely dunks. Thats 4 MVPs in a row that aint in the club. Im sure it irks people who think 'this is our game.'
We have a saying in Greece: "Όσα δεν φτάνει η αλεπού τα κάνει κρεμαστάρια". It means "the things the fox can't reach, the fox makes fun of(or diminishes)". I think the application of this saying is 100% perfect in this case". Arenas was never close to the level Giannis is, and Giannis is just entering his prime. His bitterness and jealousy are so obvious.
Why would he be jelous of Giannis and not the 500 other players in history and present that are also way better than him? Like you legit cant say anything negative about anyone now a days or its cbaidered hate or jelousy. He is alohd to think giannis has a low basketball IQ. In all honesty he doesnt jave a high basketball IQ but he also doesnt really need to. Look at Shaq. You think his IQ was through ghe roof. No he was just domi ant. If shaq had the same skill set at at 6 foot 2 he would have never played basketball
@@tyrellleach1846 if he has not basketball iq so why other basketball players like him just dont be so strong like him and dominant?this is the dumbest take i have ever seen
LeBron was 27 when he won his first nba finals with prime Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. Giannis was 26 with his best teammate being Khris Middleton. Both came from small market teams that lost year after year, Giannis stayed in Milwaukee and won a finals/finals MVP after 2 regular season MVPs and a DPO. An international guy from Greece who’s shown he’s loyal to an organization and stays out of trouble, doesn’t feed for attention. They hate on the guy who just puts his head down and goes to work.
I like this but this is not a good argument at all. Yes he won but we all know he didn’t face the best teams, this year he failed to even beat the unchanged Celtics and he was better than last season. Greek Freak is the best player in the world currently though and Gilbert is just talking crazy
@@petermadash4488 He’s one of the few guys out there who doesn’t get caught up in the drama and talk, to your point, too. He just works hard, gets better ever year, and plays to win. You have to admire that, even if you’re not personally a fan of him, unless you’re a hater.
Giannis is a stud, a CHAMPION, an MVP , Defensive player of the year, FRANCHISE caliber player, that will put 40 and 20 on your team if you don't try to stop him, and even IF you try he still might do it anyways.
For all of their skills, KD and Kyrie got swept by Boston and Giannis single-handedly willed Milwaukeed to a game 7. Giannis gets too much disrespect. But it doesn't matter. All he has to do is keep working. When all is said and done, he might be ranked higher than KD. He's already ranked higher than Kyrie and Harden for all of their "skills".
I’m so over ppl hating on Giannis when he’s CLEARLY been the best 2 way player in the NBA the last 2-3 years and I’m a LeBron guy, but I’m also objective! It’s def a foreigner thing. It’s so tired. Jokic gets same kinda hate same with Luka and Hakeem massively underrated on most ppls GOAT list as he’s CLEARLY Top10 (trade his career teammates/coaches/FO with Kareem Russell Wilt Shaq Duncan and he has 2-6x more 🏆and they all have 0-2🏆if they’re in his position on Rockets. Sampson injuries were huge). Ppl pretending LeBron & Giannis aren’t super SKILLED are clowns. Ppl overate “dribbling bag” so much it’s staggering. Defense, passing, scoring in the paint, athleticism/movements are all skills! Ppl swear 1-1 handles and mid range are the only “SKILLS”
I like your post, but don't put Duncan in it!!! Duncan was the ONLY reason an old David Robinson rode Duncan's back to 2 titles!!! Also, TP is nothing but a role player and loser without Duncan. Greg Popivich said it himself. He was asked by media after making playoffs for 20th straight year, "what is the reason you have been so successful over the last 20 years?" Without a second of hesitation, Pop replied... "Tim Duncan!" Stever Kerr was asked how he was able to win 5 rings on 2 different teams on the TV show Open Court. Steve Kerr immediately replied... "Michael Jordan & Tim Duncan!" Kerr did NOT say Phil Jackson, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Greg Popovich, Tony Parker, or Manu Ginobili. P.S. I think Admiral, Pippen, Rodman & Manu would have had great careers no matter where they went. However, without MJ & Duncan (or the stacked Bad Boy Pistons), they would NEVER have won "JACK SQUAT!!!"
The best player in general. Also, athleticism isn't a skill, not every one can train and obtain a 40 inch vert, unlike how anyone can train to shot 40% from outside.
Clearly he's been the best 2 way player. Not even close. A prime kawhi could come close but he's probably past his prime. Even a prime kawhi would fall short of Giannis!
Yeah like wtf is Arenas even thinking of, saying 6'11, 240-250 lb freak of muscle and athleticism don't know how to train his body? What is the guy suppose to be Kevin Durant?

I’d rather have giannis 33-35 minutes a game giving it his all on both sides of the court, than have him get tired and play half ass defense like some of the other stars in the league.
Giannis could literally retire right now and be top 5 in his position and the only reason keeping him that low is that the others in his group had a longer dominant careers. Luckily Giannis should have lots of time to keep moving up and has a chance to contend to be the best.
And we forget he learned the game late.... Like Embid, Olajuwan.... especially Olajuwan, these guys have far exceeded expectations because they are outplaying/outplayed 99% of players who were raised on basketball...
These guys started later than most American kids but they didn't start playing at advanced ages.... Olajuwon was already playing for the Nigerian U-17 Team at 16 or so, befoere coming to play for the Houston Cougars, he started playing at about 13 when bhe grew too tall for soccer/futbol. I'm from Baltimore, Maryland, we get Wizards game on cable television in my city. I've been watching the Wizards games for the most part since 1995, I love the Wizards. With that being said, Gilbert Arenas is a weird cat. Just because Giannis is not as fluid as Stephen Curry doesn't mean that he is not an all-time great. Giannis is an excellent basketball player, I think Gilbert Arenas needs to be drug tested.

The Wizards player(Deshaun Stevenson) brought 'Soulja Boy' to the game, they blew the 'Cavaliers' out by like 30 points. The game after the blowout is when I went, the 'Wizards' lost it in the final seconds. Gilbert Arenas played well those years, he was like DAMIAN LILLARD of the 'PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS, injuries destroyed his career along with that gun incident in the locker room. Just watched yesterday Jokic vs Iannis play an OT game for the ages with Serbia and Greece. Thats the last 4 MVPs. Totally different styles. Thats a good thing. Iannis was flying thru the air after taking two looong steps like a much more skilled version of prime Dwight Howard. While Jokic was methodically backing down in to close hook shots, zipping passes, doing Sombor Shuffles. You may not like a style but you cant deny the results of either. Iannis has worked hard and improved from being a raw young kid. Like Jokic, he can will his team and take control of a game. It can (and must) be done more than one way. Steve Nash and Shaq were different as well. Im sure Arenas didnt see that intense Greece-Serbia game but those that did know that this was idiotic ststement. As was dismissing winning a title in the clutchest of ways as "cool."
I think the referees can allow a team to win or lose in baseball, football, and basketball. Also in tennis tournaments. We going to see so much of Golden State Warriors winning, that they will break the win/loss season record. Usually teams struggle after winning a title. Pay attention folks!!! Cheating happens!!!!

Gilbert is a hater. He hates players who didn’t start great at the beginning. You can find same hate for Steph from him too. Like he really said, he is better spot up shooter than curry. He should be sent to mental hospital asap.
One step higher, and that's being finals MVP on a championship winner. But uh... Giannis did that. Then if you want to argue there is a step higher for an individual accomplishment, it would be how you performed compared to peers in the finals. Well, that 50 piece he dropped is statistically one of the greatest individual performances in all of finals history. So he has that too. It's also, in terms of key moments in a career and not being called a closer - it is the greatest finals close out game performance ever. All he's missing for all time rankings right now is simply winning more rings, and we have no idea if he will, but it's hard to say he won't be competing for one every single year for at least the next 5 to 6 years.
Arenas need’s to stop talking. He never made it to a conference finals. Never won mvp or dpoy. To be honest he never won anything 🤣 when everyone was dissing Giannis, he followed it up with 2 mvp’s 2 DPOY’s. Nba championship & finals mvp.
Giannis has gotten so much better at defense (he’s learned how to anchor one of the best defenses in the league every year), passing, reading defenses, handling double teams, controlling the game, knowing when to try to take over as opposed to knowing when to get teammates involved. He’s also built his body as well as basically anybody in the league. I’d argue his shooting has gotten better too.
The Giannis disrespect is crazy, 2x MVP a championship DPOY and FMVP and people still disrespecting that man, i hope he sees all this hate and comes out Killin the league
@@TheAverageSome1 Should added some laughing emojis because I was joking. My bad😂 And yes, Giannis is a hooper to behold. Watching him play is a privilege.

I think people are caught up in skills, basketball moves, rather than appreciating that Greek Freak can just put the ball in the basket. There’s more than one way to Score.
And it’s crazy cause Giannis don’t never got nothing hateful to say bout nobody. He’s literally not worried bout none of these guys but they wake up talking out the side of they mouth
He is so physically gifted that he doesn't rely on skill to dominate. You also have guys that can win every skill drill or contest and not play much in the game.
Gilbert Definitely not respecting what #34 has done an he's still only like 27 Giannis may never be as skilled as a Durant but he's improving year after year
Even in giving Giannis his props on this show, they still pretend "Giannis just can't shoot very well". Just admit you don't watch Giannis play every night and move on. Dude shot 42% from midrange last year on 200+ shots. That's better than Joel Embiid, Devin Booker, and basically 50 other guys because 42% is ABOVE LEAGUE AVERAGE. And that isn't a fluke - under coach bud - Giannis mid range shooting percentage has actually gotten better 4 straight seasons and nobody who isn't a Bucks fan is noticing. Dude is doing spin around fade aways on the baseline - Khris Middleton's move - and splashing it. He's doing jumpers off the dribble stop in the mid range like KD. He's even doing crossovers into step back shots in the mid range and even at the 3 point line. The ONLY knock anyone can have on his game today, is that despite being open for most of the shots he takes from 3, he still only hits it at around 30%, which is below league average. Well below, for being wide open. So yes, he has a flaw in his game in that he hasn't been able to improve his 3 point shot much the last 3 years. But every other aspect of his game has gotten better. Down in the post even, he's not just barreling through guys anymore. He's got some finesse moves with his step around finger rolls and hook shots - something that wasn't in his bag 2 years ago. He's now got the mid range WHILE CONTESTED shot in his bag and has had it in his bag all of last season. He's even improved his dribbling to where it was 5 years ago, and increased his court vision and passing, let alone everything he does on the defensive end - which is second to none. Giannis basically the "perfect" basketball player offensively from 23 feet and in. Zion hasn't even played a complete season yet, and the media talks about him like he's Lebron already. Meanwhile, Giannis is one of the most decorated NBA players in HISTORY at 27, and even the media who do give him props still don't give him the credit he deserves.

what kills me is people still try to reiterate that gilbert knows his basketball whenever they have to talk about another stupid thing he says. The things he has said that make ppl say he knows his basketball are things that really dont take a maestro in the mental to say or some to an understanding of. Most of the things he says ball related be off, or untrue, or stupid to me.
GA doesn't have the credentials to say he knows basketball when compared to Giannis. He hasn't won anything, hasn't achieved anythinf, hasn't done anything to even bring basketball to a greater audience than giving hot takes. He is just a retired guy who was given a platform just because he says the darnest things to get clicks.
The fact that Giannis is by far the best player in the league, demonstrated it in the playoffs with one of the best performances of all time, keeps improving various parts of his game every year, and people still manage to diminish how good he actually is. Hell, even Shaq said that Giannis is better than him.
This what I hate about Arenas’ takes, he’s great at analysing fundamentals but anything bigger than that he just backs his favourites like anyone else.
You cant be serious...KD is the best player in the league...give me another player who is over 6'9 with an inside and outside game that can match KD?...
Gibert has the worst takes and has become a lap dog for Lebron who doesn’t even play both ends of the floor anymore. So yeah he’s out there for 35 plus minutes. As hard won as that championship against Phoenix was and how Giannis almost single handedly beat the Celtics this past post season without Khris Middleton you’d think he had silenced his critics.
Funny thing is Giannis at this present time would dominate any of those guys! Gilbert has no rings, haven't led the league in anything. Giannis has gotten better over the years and won a championship. I'm with Giannis!!
Ok we not just gonna act like Gilbert wasn't good enough to have an opinion that's different. Gilbert has had scoring seasons where the only better scorers have been Iverson, Kobe and LeBron. Coming right behind them isn't so bad
The only thing Giannis does know how to do bring a gun to practice. Giannis totally looks baffled when he dropped a 50 piece in game 6 in the 2021 Finals.
Arenas was a flash in the pan scorer who was relegated to the Shanghai Sharks at 32 and now desperately clings to relevancy. Historically low BBIQ and nobody should take his analysis seriously. A bum.

When did minutes played now start to become something more than it was? People will cherrypick the silliest topics just to have an argument for or against someone. It's what the lebrontards brought into mainstream sports.
Haven't found a single international player with similiar criticisms of Giannis. Yet all these American born players, new and old seem to find the most moronic or stupid criticisms of him. I don't think that's a coincidence.
Imagine being as good as Giannis and not knowing how to play basketball. Lol. Somebody stop this guy if he doesn't understand how to play basketball. Gilbert arenas needs to look at game 6 of 2021 finals again. Oh yeah Gilbert...50 and 14 was his stat line. The bucks only won by 7.
This just shows he still has more room to improve even he is dominant currently. And Im glad Giannis has that hungry mentality and improves every season. I just hope he keeps healthy to achieve his full potential
The same thing that Chris is saying not to judge Giannas by, is the same thing that sport personalities judge KD about when comparing him to Lebron. That’s hypocritical!!
It is stupid to sit down and DEBATING about what's coming from Gilbert Arena.Period. THERE IS NO WAY YOU WOULD, SHOULD, EVEN START THINKING ABOUT HAVING A DEBATE ABOUT WHAT IS COMING OUT OF GILBERT ARENA MOUTH.

Giannis work ethic is so great, that when he loss in the playoffs,it made me have more respect for lebron's legacy, lebron has taken scrap metal to the finals in his prime....and giannis has so much heart I love his game more than his talent.....
If he doesn’t understand the game and doesn’t train properly for the NBA and still won a chip says more about the rest of the league rather than Giannis’s lack of Skill.
I like Gilbert but if Giannis has accomplished all that he has without understanding how to play then he’s the greatest basketball player that has ever played

I like your post, but don't put Duncan in it!!! Duncan was the ONLY reason an old David Robinson rode Duncan's back to 2 titles!!! Also, TP is nothing but a role player and loser without Duncan. Greg Popivich said it himself. He was asked by media after making playoffs for 20th straight year, "what is the reason you have been so successful over the last 20 years?"
Without a second of hesitation, Pop replied...
"Tim Duncan!"
Stever Kerr was asked how he was able to win 5 rings on 2 different teams on the TV show Open Court. Steve Kerr immediately replied...
"Michael Jordan & Tim Duncan!"
Kerr did NOT say Phil Jackson, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Greg Popovich, Tony Parker, or Manu Ginobili.
P.S. I think Admiral, Pippen, Rodman & Manu would have had great careers no matter where they went. However, without MJ & Duncan (or the stacked Bad Boy Pistons), they would NEVER have won "JACK SQUAT!!!"

DPOY too.. gil better chill

Gilbert coming out guns blazing with this take!
talking out his ass
Lol
🤣🤣
Gilbert has and will always be a 🤡.
OF COURSE HE WOULD SAY IT ON A PODCAST BUT I WILL GUARANTEE YOU HE DOESN'T HAVE THE BALLS TO SAY ANYTHING REMOTELY CLOSE TO THAT TO THE MAN'S FACE.
@@flyguy7825 dude he’s talkin basketball 🤣🤣 not his family
@@z-mane1438 it doesn’t matter he never has the smoke to go after his guests. He roasted guys who can’t take the crowd heckling people and then brought Larry sanders on who said the heckling severely bothered him and Gil just sat there And talked around it. “New media”
@@z-mane1438 What are you even talking about?
I remember reading an article about Arenas back in the day, from Sports Illustrated I believe. He got this huge tattoo of a tiger. When his dad saw it he chewed him out and said, “ Do you think D Wade would do something like that?” Lol
If Giannis was American and went through the aau circuit he would be embraced more
Well if there's one thing positive about it, is that all time legends also have haters, if you have haters that means you're accomplishing things that make them jealous and insecure. Also wtf does he meant by Giannis "doesn't know what it means to be great" when Arenas himself said Giannis won a championship (and as a fmvp and a 2x mvp and a dpoy), someone explain to me if that's just not hating or what? Sure he can still improve but in my estimation(and many others) he's an all time great
Gilbert "Agent Zero" Arenas is a baller. But he doesn't hold a candlestick to Giannis.
Did Gil really say Giannis doesn't know how to take care of his body? Like seriously? 😂🤣
That clown must mean Anthony Davis doesn't know how to take care of his body! That goof must have the players confused!
This is behind laughable 😂😂🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️, WHAT????
Gilbert gotta gtfoh! A guy that doesn't know how to play is a Champion, fmvp, mvp, and defensive player of the year. This dude said he doesn't know how to train his body 🤦🏾♂️
exactly , when did gilbert win a title or an mvp? never .what the hell does gil know about team play or defense did he even win a playoff series i'm not sure but i doubt it
I can’t even Believe this TRASH CAME OUT OF HIS MOUTH
what kills me is people still try to reiterate that gilbert knows his basketball whenever they have to talk about another stupid thing he says.
Not by far
Also Giannis definitely ain’t better than prime shaq 🤣🤣
Gilbert Arenas and I have the same amount of MVPs and Championships.
This what I hate about Arenas’ takes, he’s great at analysing fundamentals but anything bigger than that he just backs his favourites like anyone else.
Exactly
Don’t ever compare KD to Giannis. KD won’t ever come close being as good as him
Facts
Giannis cheated for his first ring
@@cwebed-stuy4480 how
You cant be serious...KD is the best player in the league...give me another player who is over 6'9 with an inside and outside game that can match KD?...
It's always the underachievers who try to diminish the people who achieve great things, when they were just average when they tried.
Everyone rags on Giannis' skills but no one can stop him
Who cares if Giannis doesn’t know how to play basketball? He knows how to win. Gilbert just knows how to run his mouth.
What does Lebron have to do with this? 😂. It’s Saturday Bruh. At least leave your mind bron free on the weekend
@Capbruhcorn Hey lady, what does have to do with LeBron?
Rent free.
Any baller knows it's hard to play both sides for more than 30 mins. Once your legs gives out, good luck on offense.
He’s never played both ends of the floor really..
@@Messigoat1033 these fools are LeBron starved. Anyone says anything positive about LeBron, they allegedly work for him.
Funny thing is Giannis at this present time would dominate any of those guys! Gilbert has no rings, haven't led the league in anything. Giannis has gotten better over the years and won a championship. I'm with Giannis!!
Wrong. 🤡🤡🤡
Ok we not just gonna act like Gilbert wasn't good enough to have an opinion that's different. Gilbert has had scoring seasons where the only better scorers have been Iverson, Kobe and LeBron. Coming right behind them isn't so bad
Giannis would not be an Allstar if he wasn’t Athletic and strong thats just facts He has No Skill Not even Basic Fundamentals
And Shaq wouldn't have been an All star if he wasn't 7' 300+ lbs...what's the difference
@@fashionlife5348 you can say the same thing about Shaq ,
The only thing Giannis does know how to do bring a gun to practice.
A bum.
What Gilbert meant to say is that he hates that he was never great 🤣🤣🤣. Gilbert has an agenda, I agree all the skills in the world mean nothing if it doesn’t accomplish anything.

"He only played
nineteen years. "
Chris Broussaarrdd
what a ridiculous thought to let
escape into utterance.
You meant;
he only averaged more than
30 minutes seven years
out of his amazing nineteen year career.
We all know that Gilbert is a 🤡, i swear he's slow, they just cant accept that fact that a boy from nowhere sitting on the best player crown.
Gilbert gets on my nerves at times...with this whole no chill Gill...Giannis is a beast...
Giannis is so athletically gifted that he gets less credit. I disagree personally but basketball iq is very rare. That is true.
At least Giannis understands not to bring guns to a locker room lol
This minutes played is a testament to how good the team is around him. Smh horrible horrible take Gil.
When did minutes played now start to become something more than it was? People will cherrypick the silliest topics just to have an argument for or against someone. It's what the lebrontards brought into mainstream sports.
So funny coming from a former player who was a volume shooter and only cared about scoring and never made his teammates better. Oh
Once you've led your team to a chip , your credit as a bball player is A1. Giannis is the best show on earth 🌎.
His one championship is by far better 👏 than Durant's two championship in my book, take that!
Preach!
Out of of curiosity is it better than LeBrons in Miami? Or its a KD smear campaign going on?

Meanwhile the last 2 playoff runs he played over 37 mins 🤣
This just shows he still has more room to improve even he is dominant currently. And Im glad Giannis has that hungry mentality and improves every season. I just hope he keeps healthy to achieve his full potential
I guess Shaq didn't know how to play basketball
The same thing that Chris is saying not to judge Giannas by, is the same thing that sport personalities judge KD about when comparing him to Lebron. That’s hypocritical!!
Agreed
Take Gilbert's mic away.. 😴🍿🙄
*Imagine it like this: Who's the better student? The one who always studies and fails or the one who never studies and gets A's?*
*If Giannis doesn't know how to "play basketball" or "be great" but he's still winning at everything, then maybe he's redefining what it means to be a "great basketball player".*
Gilbert Arenas is jealous of Giannis, and he, Arenas, is the last person to advise someone in the NBA.
I’m confused, I thought sports was about winning. “He won a championship and that’s cool” come on Gil let’s Not downplay what Greek did
Giannis work ethic is so great, that when he loss in the playoffs,it made me have more respect for lebron's legacy, lebron has taken scrap metal to the finals in his prime....and giannis has so much heart I love his game more than his talent.....
But Giannis won without household names
He's not very talented honestly. He's an incredibly athlete though.

But at the same time he makes Giannis more popular ....
@Danny Tallmage No he most definitely tries . You don't speak that way to a dude that has already passed the status of "criticism"..
He playin 32 mins bc they blowing everybody out
They complain that he doesn’t play but 30ish minutes….and players on a regular load managing…..what do you want?? SMH😏😏
If he doesn’t understand the game and doesn’t train properly for the NBA and still won a chip says more about the rest of the league rather than Giannis’s lack of Skill.
