- HOW TO MANAGE SEBORRHEIC DERMATITIS?!
that allows your skin to essentially not exfoliate properly and you end up stacking these skin cells on the surface of the scalp and you end up developing an excessive amount of fungus between these skin cells and you end up having an unusual amount of sebum being pushed out through those skin cells so is you must use a ketoconazole shampoo so there's a shampoo
Called Nizoral and that is 1% ketoconazole and that is a place to start cause it kills yeast and fungus and if you will use that typically starting out 5 days a week and then go down to 3 days a week after 2 weeks then it will end up controlling a volume of it but you need to make sure your vitamin d 3 is good because that actually helps stabilize autoimmune conditions you need to make sure that your ferritin is good also help stabilize also make sure that your zinc is good so these levels are so important in your skin and your immune system

@@izy931also certain things seem easier than they actually are. It’s much more difficult and near impossible to explore the entire ocean or earth’s core than to visit other planets
This is the best explanation on dandruff I have ever heard.
one that i notice, i read somewhere, the yeast level is so much on people who lack of sleep or sleep late pas 11PM. i noticed this too when i get adequate sleep the symptomps relief but still have to use ketoconazole to kill the yeast
Yup, I have a poor sleep schedule and and it’s worse the later I sleep. When I say poor, I’m talking going to bed at 3am, 4am, etc etc sometimes 7am like a degenerate. The other day I went to sleep at one of these defenerate hours and to top it off I slept only for 5 hours. Worst flare up I’ve experienced.
*_I have enough sleep every night but I still have severe dandruff._*
@moriel01 its a prevention. Its a chronic condition. We could only manage it by preventing flare ups such as deprived from sleepin, stress, or another flare ups. In your case it seems scalp is already infected, i usually use ketoconazole shampoo lather it on your scalp and let it stay for 10-12 mins, do it 3 times a week. Then it would get better 14days later. And sometimes after medication your scalp will shed most of the infected skin cell before it gets better. This is how i managed this skin condition. Hope it helps
Permanent solution is setlting down chronic inflammation via dietary changes for a while lile 3-6 months min and then making it a good habit and eliminating stress thst causes inflammation. Simultaneously, nutritional foods / supplements that boost hair growth . And massaging the scalp for good blood flow and growth.
I’m with you. What foods do you think contribute to it besides processed/fast food?

Really? Can u give more info on what you did
@@sunnyjacks8564Bro, you have to eat almost zero carbohydrates, a Keto diet and you will be free from the seborrheic dermatitis in only 5 days.
When nothing else works, apply either of these two acids- apply freshly squeezed llime juice or apple cider vinegar and let it dry out. When squeezing the lime juice pour it through a strainer to seperate the liquid, then either get yourself an empty plastic bottle with a nozle ( such as an empty hair dye platic bottle with nozzle) part your hair and apply the liquid directly to scalp as you part hair all throughout. Other option is to spray the lime juice or Appli Cider vinegar onto scalp. Make sure you soak the scalp and just let it sit and dry. The acid eats away at the oil on your scalp. You can shampoo after 30. Min or longer if you don't mind waiting. I once went 4 days without any itch and buildup from this routine. Hope someone gets relieve from this.

Not sure who else will find it helpful, but i dealt with my daughters extreme dandruff issues with hydrogen peroxide. She used to have extremely itchy ,flaky dandruff. Used all sorts of shampoos and medication with no results.
Found that after having a pedicure, my nail fungus issues practically disappeared. Based on that , diluted 1 part of 3% hydrogen peroxide with 2 parts water and using a cotton ball, dabbed it all over her scalp, waited 5 min and washed it all off with water (no shampoo).
Did it once a week for a month. No issues ever since.

Staying away from yeast in your diet and simple carbs helps immensely. This comes from the health of your gut, doctors won’t tell you that though unless they study naturopathic, holistic, and eastern medicine. These things he is recommending is just a band aide but don’t listen to me because I’m not a doctor.
When do you see result once your cut back on carbs? I’m thinking of just not completely cutting out carbs but reducing them as well as checking my weight everyday to see if I’m losing weight(which I don’t want because I’m skinny af)
@@angelmaldonado5657 I did it for a period, slightly reduced the outbreaks, but honestly, it was probably because of the summer. During the summer the outbreaks stop and when the colder temperatures are coming back it becomes worse again. You might have noticed that as well.
I live in the Netherlands so the temperatures during the winter get sometimes below zero Celsius.
Sadly, it's also extremely difficult to not eat carbs and food with yeast in it, what helped me the most is getting enough omega 3 oils on a daily basis in the form of a capsule. Reducing is possible but completely eliminating it is very rare... and I have a light variant of dermatitis compared to others!
Its true, i did a gut flush and it calmed my eczema.

Dermatologists don’t know this but u can’t just prescribe ketoconazole shampoo to every seb dermatitis pt. Some of us have grown resistant to its effects. The other combinations don’t work either
True. Nizoral doesnt do anything to my dandruff. It goes away the day i use nizoral and comes back if i dont use it.
mr dr gave me keto shampoo and i saw almost no difference. not sure if this was absolutely true but I stayed hydrated and exfoliated and stayed away from beer which really triggered it and other yeast foods helped alot for some time.
Correct ketokonazol actually leads to hairfall in my case
What are we supposed to do even tbh
I cleared my scalp using a garnier shampoo. It’s the only shampoo that helped and the “anti fungal” ones made my skin more inflamed and hair fall out. I don’t understand cause I’m pretty positive the issue is seb derm. Red rash with big flakes and oozing sebum
Guys trust me, the best method is go to a proper dermatologist, for me during the flare i take minocycline 50 mg once daily for 3 weeks and its gone like magic, maybe it can be isotretinoin for you. But go to a dermatologist
But then how can people of the comments flex their arrogance and superiority complex by telling people to do things a medical professional would never tell them?
This is an antibiotic in pill form or is it topical?
There is baking soda senda namak and shampoo paste during bath after it use in last little shampoo to removed paste

What shampoo and scrub
Hey there, mates. Fellow Scalp seborrheic dermatitis sufferer here.
This is for people like me.
I had this dandruff thing maybe 3 years ago from now. Severe dandruff, got bald and can see patches of fungus there. Doc at first recommended (Clobetasol Propionate 0.025% lotion) and (salicylic acid 2% and ketoconazole 2% shampoo). Worked well, but the solution wasn't a long term solution. There's nothing bad with using the shampoo long term. Dandruff was still recurssing at this point.
Tried (ketoconazole 2%) only shampoo, didn't work. Itchy, redness and danruff on scalp. Moderate hairfall.
Tried (ketoconazole 2% and zinc pyrithione 1% shampoo) only. All dandruff wen't away just like that. Extremely effective for me, but at the cost of heavy hairfall. Was depressed at this point.
Then tried a "piroctone olamine" only shampoo for a few days. Recurring dandruff but very slight ithciness and normal hairfall. Didn't work that well. Doc said no but still was using that lotion I mentioned in the first treatment(like maybe once every 10 days and danruff was under very good control).
Finally, currently using (Ciclopirox olamine 1% & zinc pyrithione 1% shampoo). Works like charm. Had to use it every alternate day initially, but now once twice a week works fine.
Hope this helps to some of you out there!
Thanks, Vicky.

There is no cure for seborrheic dermatitis. We have to use shampoo regularly.
My psychology: We have to use some kind of shampoo regularly anyways, why not use medicated one? Its as simple as rubbing something across your hair.
ketoconazole and salicylic is a long term solution.
Bro..Please listen..I need ur help.. Don't ignore.. I'm planning to get bald due to mild but stubborn and highly itchy dandruff, I'll tell my barber to razor off all white flakes from my head..Is this enough to get rid of dandruff permanently from the root? Do I need to actually do it? What was ur experience when u went bald..Pls share it with me.. Don't ignore..Help ur fellow mate 🥺🙏🏻
The itching drives me nuts!!! The only thing that cures it for a little while is to get my hair dyed !!
But like u mean while dying or having ur hair dyed after?
But i have read it somewhere tht we shall avoid dyea during dermatitis
Avoid refined carbs and grains. I've been struggling with S.D since I was 12, I'm 29 now. Never went away, but I learned how to live with it. Also: Zinc, d3, Turmeric, B complex helps.
Once a month I have a cheat meal: pasta, pizza, etc.
It works for me, it's either this or itchiness and redness on my scalp.
I’ve been dealing with this for ten years. The dying probably helps because you are properly scrubbing your scalp and cleaning your hair, way more than during your regular routine. Clean your scalp often and as thoroughly as possible, shampoo multiple times, leave on for a few minutes. Happy cappy shampoo works well, other natural clarifying rosemary infused shampoos, Theraneem, nizoral…all work to an extent. The important part is cleanliness of the scalp…I can’t stress this enough! Scalp scrubs can also help.
My dermatologist put me on 2% ketocanozole shampoo. It works.
What an explanation in just a minute
It’s so annoying bc I have long loc and right after I get a fresh retwist 1 week later I have caked up flakes all over again even on my hairline
have you tried the apple cidar vinegar and baking soda? if so, does that help.
Same smh and it doesn’t help the people who retwist ur hair know nothing about it .. I had locs 4.5 years the SD was messing with my edges and causing hair thinning .. I combed my locs out smh im getting them back now as I’ve done research on topicals and know what to do better now.
I wanted locs but decided not to since I have so called "sd".
Nizoral shampoo did not work for me at all. The Selsun Blue Naturals works a lot better for me.
Thank you!
This really helped me!

I'm african American I can't wash my hair 5 days a week. I cut all the carbs lentil rice pastas out my diet I hope it helps. I have used this shampoo once a week I see a little improvement
I am Black also....here are so products that helps mine- Olay gentle foaming cleanser, adapalene gel (differin or LA roche posay) and a oily skin moisturizer (astra skin tone cream with sunscreen). It's actually oily skin even though it's flaky or looks dry.
I’m black as well. I had to start washing my hair twice a week with a shampoo that my doctor prescribed. It’s very time-consuming. When I can afford to cut out certain foods, I definitely will do so.
How does eating lentils affect it though?
I'm black as well. My Trichologist/Stylist told me I could no longer get relaxers. Switched to Silk Pressing to transition to Natural, that became costly. After researching for a while I went with Locs. Low manipulation, I can shampoo as needed, apply topicals as needed. It has helped.
Also, monitor your STRESS LEVELS! My Seborrheic Dermatitis flares up bad when I'm under situational stress, or if I'm ill.
@De'Ja so the tropical creams ya leave on ya head or do ya wash it off?
Do you have an update? Has anything changed since you switched your diet?
I have been using a few drops (5-6) of DoTERRA Tea Tree essential oil mixed in with Neutrogena Salicylic Acid shampoo and it really helped

Only thing that’s ever worked over the years is switching up the treatment every once in a while .
Thank you, Doctor.
I did that. The fungus develops resistance later and everything becomes worse.
My hair was falling like never before and I’ve been having excessive dandruff so I needed to know why, I did a full check up, all my vitamin levels were good, nothing seemed off. My bed sheets are changed frequently, towels are never reused, I never apply any heat, and rarely go out when the sun is up. I still couldn’t find the reason.
I started using nizoral and it helped reducing dandruff at first, then two months later it became much more worse. The itchy feeling was so bad.
I also used Ducray which wasn’t bad , but didn’t help much.
The thing that has been working for me recently is Sulfur8 shampoo + the conditioner. Much much better than nizoral and I’m not sure why no one is talking about the amazing underrated sulfur.
I have the same thing . What shampoo helped you ? I used nizoral but it doesn’t help

I found а definitive solution thanks to a severe cough I had, not expecting the "side effect" of it at all. I've been with this condition, Seborrheic Dermatitis, for more than 10 years and it was severe especially tha last 5 years. Went to a doctor when I was much younger and I was diagnosed with it.
Seeing this is because I post this story to random people including you, with my only wish to help someone get rid of this skin nightmare.
So I had this severe cough that won't go away, and the doctor prescribed me a treatment with Medrol 4mg 100 tablets, the active ingredient of which is methylprednisolone. At first it was an injection a day in the ass (a muscle injection with methylprednisolone) then it was switched to Medrol which is basically the same thing, just taken orally in tablets. The Seborrhea was completely gone the next day or two, all over the scalp, on my face and behind my ears. The redness on may face was still very slightly visible (but only to me cause I recognize it well) the next three to five days. Now, after a week of taken this Medrol, I can't believe I had this thing for years. The skin is unrecognizable, completely clear and smoooth as it should be. I was completely surprized. I didnt went to the doctor for this but fortunately this is how it turned out. So I guess the seborrhea is some internal disorder, may be some hormonal disbalance or something caused by certain lifestyles or life choices - work, food, stress etc., because methylprednisolone is a corticosteroid - a synthetic analogue of a hormon (cortisol) naturally produced by our adrenal glands. Now I find it funny that there are tons of creams, shampoos etc., that do basically nothing but can cost you hundreds of dollars in the long run. I certainly tried hundreds of them. Obviously, Seborrhea is a condition that must be treated internaly. I urge everyone to consider methylprednisolone (surely there are many options for the same thing on the market) to treat his or her condition. For me it was amazing! Not a freaking trace of this itching nightmare in a couple of days. Go see a doctor and tell him/her about it, cause taking methylprednisolone is very tricky. There is a specific schedule of taking this drug. Stopping it abruptly can cause serious problems. So seeing a doctor is a must.
Free yourselves from this nightmare once and for all with methylprednisolone.
P.S. I dont know if when I stop taking Medrol the Seborrhea would return and/or how fast it will return if at all, so I can't say it's really "definitive" or "for life" but for now - it's a freakng miracle. I hope anyone who read this gets rid of this horrible desease. Talk to your doctor about this treatment!
@@rachkaification do that realy work?
@@rajavignesh7216 After stopping the corticosteroids the seborrhea returned and kind of worse. Although you can't really say what's worse if you had had it very bad. Doing all this helped me get rid of the sebborhea. I still has some of it at the entrance of my ears but everywhere else it disappeared. Not sure what from all these is the cause of the disapperance but give them a try. Especially the keto diet with the coconut oil. Of course physical activity is always desirable too. Take care!

Yeah man, this skin condition sucks! Personally, I get it in my scalp and on my face primarily, but the VA issues me a shampoo, cream and a liquid solution to combat it. It’s weird how they don’t have any pills to take to prevent it from popping up…what is even worse, it’s unknown why it pops up.
Dear friends
I will share with you a way of how to get rid of this plague for good. Stick to this steps and is should be gone completely in 2 weeks. Everything you need is available in shops or online so you don't need any prescription.
1. Wash your hair and infected areas with Head and Shoulders clinical strenght. Apply a little and massage into infected spots. Leave on for 5 minutes. The colder the water the better. Don't wash your face or infected areas with hot water - big no.
2. After step 1 while your skin is still moist apply hyaluronic acid onto your skin. Put some onto your fingers and massage into your skin. If you have dermatisis on your face apply all over your face not just onto the infected areas.
3. After the hyaluronic acid is absorbed (wait at least 10 minutes) apply salycic acid. Few drops on cotton pad and apply to infected areas.
3. Do not eat bakery breads or or dough. Anything that contains yeast. Yeast helps the infection to grow.
4. Try to cut or reduce dairy products.
I hope that this helped you. Please let me know :)
Anybody else facing hairfall?
My hair till i was at college was thick the hair strains were strong.
Now my hair is thin and brittle upon that i think my baldness is Male Pattern Baldness which is which is quite an embarassment as well.
Can i naturally grow back my hair or with the help of Medication or PRP/Transplant.
Guys please i need serious help.
I've counsulted doctor too tested all the prescribed lab works everything was normal indeed.
To avoid accidental scratching to scalp i keep my nails shorts still unintentionally fingers reach to the scalp😢
For once i thought it might be hereditary genetics but both my Maternal/Paternal family aren't having any issies regarding hair/scalp (early hairfall)
During covid lockdown i literally took my trimmer set to Zero and make the move
I miss my hair😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Apply small onion juice on the balded spot before sleeping
Or apply solanum xanthocarpum gel on the balded spot
Hi! Try eating a cup of raw spinach everyday and eat lean proteins such as milk and spinach. Spinach helps with hair growth.
THIS IS A WASTE OF TIME! please don’t ignore this and please get back to me once you try it!!! I was diagnosed like a year or 2 ago with seboric dermatitis. They tryna tell me it’s “chronic” 😑. I got prescribed ketoconazole that red shampoo they give you. That shampoo is crap. I used it on and off and my dandruff/red itchiness would go away but then come back once I stopped using it. I got tired of it like 2 weeks ago I felt like I was going insane. I told my mother it was driving me crazy and she had mentioned a long time ago to put vinegar mixed with water in my scalp, then massage it and it will go away. I finally decided to listen to her😂 and it went away. I haven’t used the stupid red shampoo in like 2 weeks and I have literally no dandruff and itchiness/dryness. I had a coworker try it they also have itchiness and dandruff and it worked as well! I only wash my hair with water now in the shower and sometimes I’ll put shampoo or conditioner so I can smell good only on the hair not the scalp! Please try it. Vinegar mixed with water, massage your whole scalp with it and leave it on for 30 minutes at least. The longer the better I leave it on for 2 hours ish. Good luck lmk.
You’re talking about dandruff. This video is seborrheic dermatitus
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologisttrue he is misguiding people this can lead to further flare ups
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist Interessting, I was diagnosed with Seb Derm and the only thing that helps my symptoms is vinegar diluted. The Keto shampoo caused me more symptoms before I used it.
Also stay away from dairy for huge relief from itchiness
I've been using nizoral but it still keeps on coming back. it's itchy and everytime I'm going to bath, I'd remove my flakes using a comb. but it will only come back in the morning. I'm just a teen and I want to control this incurable skin disease. what should I do?
Hi, I’ve seen from other comments from other people changing your diet such as reducing the amount of sugar or sugary foods which has seemed to control this. Im going to start to try this myself and have already started to take multivitamins aswell to control it.
@@w.0.478 thank you. Im also at the process of maintaining my diet without sugar. Much appreciated!
Yes bro i am also teenager having this disease
Hey even I'm suffering from this disease. Why don't we change our socials to stay connected ? Maybe we can get out of this together.
You need to not let your scalp dry out! You must use a light oil on your scalp & rub it in but not get it on the hair as to leave it greasy. The easiest way I've found to do this is to use Avocado oil. Pour small amounts on your fingers while in the shower and rub your fingers all over your scalp and use the warm shower to help spread it evenly onto the scalp. Do this at least once a week, especially after washing your scalp with the shampoo. Your Dr should have prescribed you anti fungal medication like *Clotrimazole* as well. After washing hair & scalp, apply it generously to the scalp. It will help minimize the drying out of your scalp.

Is seborrheic dermatitis related with DHT?
And taking whey protein or creatine increase the risk of scalp inflammation or seborrheic dermatitis?
Yes to whey protein
I have some redness on scalp from bites I scratched, any ideas to help
I would need to know a lot more than that to give you proper answers. You can use the FoliGrowth serum topically to help control some of the inflammation. There’s probably something you’re doing regular way in your lifestyle that needs to be adjusted.
Take zinc supplement and this will go away but you need to keep taking it forever
Masturbation in men causes low zinc in men
It’s good to dry or not w blowdryer?
not using a blowdryer will probably make the situation worse
What milligrams of these vitamins should I be taking?
onAmazon you can get Carlile 10,000iu gel caps. take five a day. don't let anyone convince you this is too much, this is equivalent to being at the beach for half an hour
I’m going to try this, I’m genuinely so frustrated and itchy. Literally wash my hair within the same day my scalp has red patches and than the next day I’m flaky dry itchy. I can’t remember when I haven’t had this. Ugh sorry ik I should probably just go to the doctors
If you can find a doctor, that would help you with that, I would love to refer to them.… It is unlikely that someone will help in that regard. However, there is something you are consuming, were exposed to that is probably causing the bulk of the problem.
Is aloe vera effectivefor dermatitis?
Sometimes but mostly for moisturizing the skin scalp or face after dermatitis aloe is very good for your gut tho
How do u identify if its psoriasis or seborrheic or folliculitis
Does it work if you have TE
What’s sebum?
Hey I get it everywhere on my head… including my hair I get it on my eyelids. The back of my ears my eyebrows and my beard. My skin is more sensitive on my face what can you recommend for my face?
Same bro every place you have it I have it too am definitely not going to have kids I just don’t want to pass on this trash genetics 😞 I would of been the greatest father of all time tho 😂
You can use the shampoo on your face leave it for a few minutes. But be careful of your eyes. Am using a Led light mask for my face Led treatment & it's helping with my face. It takes a while to work though.
What if it's not on your scalp but your face I have it around my nose??
I’ve been using Nizoral for about 2 months now and it’s not helping.. only helps with the itch. 😢
Though I'm not 100% sure I think i have this on my beard. Can ketoconazole shampoo be used on the beard?
