Honda Accord....Trapped!

- We got called out for a Honda accord that had become stuck on the side of the road at Sand Hollow.
We were able to get the customer pulled back on solid ground fairly easily and send him on his way.
Next we were called out for a jeep that had become stuck at the upper Hurricane sand dunes.
The sand is extremely dry at the moment, and we have had some incredible wind storms that have made the dunes really difficult to Traverse.
Even so, we decided to take Ed for a ride across the dunes as he had never been.

Before people start bashing the kid in the Honda....It’s tough to learn anything in life that you’ve never encountered before. He was smart enough to watch Matt drive through it, and ask questions about how he did it.
What I like is that you don't look down on the people even though they make some dumb mistakes.
IDIOTS!
@@wayne5607 those were just inexperience with the dunes.
I'm more like Napoleon Dynamite: "What an idiot"
For real, I've always felt that way. I absolutely buried my truck one time and the dude who came out to pull me out made me feel like the biggest asshat ever. Jokes on him tho because he destroyed his truck trying to get me out before giving up. Found a nice dude with a old f350 with huge tires on it and he pulled me out no problem.
They pay the bills.
"I wonder if the camera makes my check engine light glow brighter"
You got me. I def laughed out loud on that one.
i love how you're giving Edd his youth back , for an ole boy he sure does smile a lot! Edd is a great guy to have around and you Matt are one of the good guys.
Anyone else give Matt's videos a like as soon as it starts?
absolutely.. i know it's gonna be awesome.
Of course,I do
Do you tip your waiter before you’ve eaten as well?
Always smashing the like button first thing 🤙🤙
To right you just know its goin to be good
“I mean, if you wanna try, go ahead.”
My guy, if a guy shows up in a banana yellow XJ, trust him when he tells you you can make it😂
I laughed so hard when it just gently glides over the sand that he tried to avoid. Then cue his look of utter shame "wow, im so lame, I could have totally made that" LOL
“ wasn’t going to be a problem in this short of a distance “ and FIRST thing he does is turn the wheel ! 🤣. I. Really enjoyed the windshield view driving in the dunes! Tell Ed it felt like I was sitting in his lap!! 😜. Video quality is getting better and better Matt! ❤️🐞
It’s a Bug’s Life - Lucky Ed!! 😋
Hole - couldn’t agree more! There is a video with her in a Windsor T shirt Matt gave her. 🤪
@@hole7612 Riding the dunes with Matt, Ed & the dogs......with a Bug on my lap
Now that WOOD be exciting! 🤣
I wouldn't say the guy turned the wheel as in purposefully did it wrong, but just didn't do anything other than sit in the seat and watch the brakes (not close enough apparently cause the parking brake was still on). Gotta remember, most of the time the people with problems have never experienced anything like this before so its totally foreign to them.
Well you can’t fix stupid 😂
putting the parking brake on when stuck...seems a little redundant.
Some people automatically put it on. You wouldn't think you need to tell them to release it but even professional truck drivers need to be told as witnessed in many towing videos.
Girly man 4 sure...
@@ratman5727 The driver left a comment further down, you should go read it
@@jimjohanson8152 Thanks Jim, I responded to him and deleted my nasty comment, it was uncalled for.
@@ratman5727 Thank you
It's got to be fun to get paid to off road every day. Totally rad bro.
Dream job
He probably doesn't go off-road every day but driving a tow truck is fun too.
I agree!
I was thinking some of these locations are beautiful and awesome
Now I know we're the moon landing was Utah sand dunes 😄😄😄
I love watching you guys tear across the dunes with the dogs running alongside!
Poor max just wanted to run a straight line with the Jeep haha
Same🤣
Me too. What a great life for a couple of rescue dogs
I like that too . Although it makes me cringe a little.
My uncle's dog loved to do that on logging roads . One day his dog just stopped in front of the van , and got killed.
This dog had been doing this for at least 8 years. It could even climb up and down ladders onto a roof. Miss that dog.
Do you have water for the dogs?
Binge watching MORR in random order really shows how much the videos have improved over such a short time. Everyone is getting very confident in their skills with both recovery and being content creators, all while staying humble.
Same here, and I agree completely. This channel sure has matured well in the past two or three years.
When you drove the Accord through the drift... 🤣😂
He was drifting lmao
Bro I died 💀😂
The guy that own the car was like well I could of done that hahaha..
Mat was just doing what this mans Mom would of had to do. I bet this adult man can't change a car tire, you know it's true.
Ain't nothin' but a thang.
I love Ed. Reminds me of my grandpa, I miss my grandparents.
Sameee :( He was so wise i learned so much from him. Miss him
Nice of you to show Ed the other side of the dunes. Loved the "That was scary" reaction.
2:48 “let’s get this problem fixed too” that’s the closest you’ll ever hear Matt get to disrespecting a client by pointing out that they are doing something obviously incorrect (it happens all the time). And by that I mean not disrespectful at all. He’s a pro in every aspect of what he does.
Instant classic! Ed said "That was scary!"
Maybe a new shirt with Ed's face and say's "That was Scary"
Cmon, I’m trying to get some sleep here. Now I gotta stay up for another 20 minutes 😆👍🏻
Yeah, my legs are dead on the toilet. 🤣
@@V8AmericanMuscleCar well get up dummy.
Boy , Lady and Max were booking through that thick sand . I think you called them in at just about the right time . Love to see Mr. Ed , and hear his comments !!!! I just love this vlog , you guys live in paradise !!!!!!
And I love Ed man. Legend. Absolute legend!
I'm the Accord driver. Glad to see I made some people smile, hope you enjoyed ;)
I'd like to thank Matt for providing professional help without mocking me for my stupid mistake ✌🏼
I saw many of you wise commenters had already figured who I am ;) But in case that matters to you here's my actual story.
I'm 23, I grew up poor, served in my country's military (mandatory). Had to work as hard as I could to get myself out of poverty. My father left us when I was a kid, my mom never had a car. (only here in America poor people drive cars) This is my first car ever that I paid in cash with my own money. I didn't have anyone to teach me how to drive, I had to pay for driving school, they don't teach you anything there. This is the first time I was ever towed.
Maybe millennial, not gay, but indeed I made a stupid mistake. :)
I'm very much inexperienced with cars and driving. Sorry, that's just how it is when you grow up having to tackle some real life problems by yourself. Never had the time to pay much attention to sand dunes on the road.
It's not because I have "helicopter parents" but because that's how I learn when there's no one to teach me.
DieKvabr I’m willing to bet those leaving negative comments wouldn’t have to guts to venture out on their own like you have. I would be to afraid to travel in another country by myself. Keep going on your adventures and enjoying life.
You learn by making mistakes, nobody is perfect. I'm sure everyone here has made a dumb mistake in their life, likely more dumb then this, so they can't talk shit. You Aren't even half as bad as some of the other people featured in this channel, bringing 2wd rental vans offroading on the trials lol. It was literally just an honest miscalculation. Glad to hear your living the American dream and on the come up 🇺🇲🦅
Hey buddy, don’t mind the internet trolls. Misery likes company and they try to bring everyone down with them.
Dude great story and good job!!!!!
Good on you man. Nobody should feel ashamed that they're not expert off-road drivers, its a specialized skill that as you said, many people can only learn because they have money and time to burn on off-road rigs to drive around in the sand and mud in their spare time.
Just read the negative comments (or don't) and imagine them as 14 year old kids living in their parent's house trying to sound knowledgeable or smart. If they're not 14, then its even funnier because they never learned how to grow up.
The banana, the dogs, the Ed, the check engine light....doesn't get any better. Keep up the good work. Thanks
The check engine light only glows brighter during the holidays!
a second blue thumb for giving Ed a ride through the dunes!
You figured out a way to get paid to go run around off-road with your friends and your dogs...what an awesome life! Good on you! Love the videos! Thanks for sharing with all of us.
New mic and new camera?! Bravo! 👏🏻 Looking and sounding great!
It is much better! Now we need to get GoPro (or Chinese knockoffs) with a suction base on the vehicle in tow, or from the tow rope. Lol
E-brake on and turned the steering wheel... 10 POINTS FOR GRYFFINDOR!!
For sheer dumb luck...
And he Lied
talon0863 and he drove off the road into the sand in an attempt to avoid the sand on the road... that’s like walking out into the ocean to avoid walking through a tide pool.
These are the ones who will take care off the Country when we are too old to hold their hands. I'm saving a bullet for myself. Databyter
I don't know what relation Ed is to you but it's awesome to see how much respect you have for him and how much enjoyment he brings to you and your crew and vice versa. it reminds me a lot of my uncle and the times we spent together before he passed.
Love the sand sky sand view out the front window.
It really makes my day when one of your videos pops up.
My only complaint with this channel is that I want MORE VIDEOS!!!! 😂😂😂
Amen great way to get the day started
Yes very much look forward to seeing this.
Quality has gone way up thanks for the content and good job that you do. Love the banana... dogs.. and southern Utah
At least the Jeep owner did not bury it up to the axles as many do. He evidently had open differentials and it was a very smart move to stop trying instead of burying it.
I like how understanding you are towards the people who are stuck and not really thinking straight. You know the guy in the accord felt pretty silly when you easily drove the car across the sand, but you casually explained the proper technique and all was good.
Great driving. Nice Scenery. Friendly Character, Makes always my Day. Thank you so much!!!
Yesssssssss best channel
1:12 the mics are so clear now! Don’t apologize! Nice to hear what you explain to clients ahead of time now.
7:24 yep I need one of these jeeps
Hey idea for you - why don’t you get some cheap walkie talkies...give clients one and you can send commands to them while you pull?
Idea2 - gopros on the doggos
I do that , but just call the other person and put it on speaker. Makes for much better towing , when you can let them know when to start braking.
I like old Ed he's he's funny and it gets me giggling you give the terrain concurrent conditions and Ed gives the weather current conditions I love this channel it cracks me up
Matt you are liven the dream. Everyone feels good after helping to pull a truck out of the sand. You get paid. That’s awesome. The parks there should have winder towing right on the receipt.
I see a future T-Shirt slogan: Keep the wheels straight and parking brake off!
look up ''ave'',boltr,,he has some wicked stikers..t,s..
Please someone do this
Listening with headphones is a must, when the hooks fall on the ground it sounds like it’s right there and the XJ really sounds great
Nice stuff. I did a tiny bit off soft roading in the Florida sugar sand this morning then came home to find the real deal on Matt's Towing & Recovery. It doesn't get any better than that!
Why do so many people try to drive in the sand without lockers? Without them you really only have a 2 wheel drive vehicle (one on each axle). They are expensive but make a world of difference :)
The phone rang, Matt says “welcome to my world”, I’m listening on hi-fi headphones and start fumbling for my phone lol!
Welcome to my world too, Matt :-)
That's some dog's life, love it!
Then panting after they got in the Jeep with mic’s was funny af
One of the most enjoyable aspects about these videos is being able to watch those two dogs running around like they own the state of Utah. My goodness are they in great shape.
Matt taking the time to make Ed's day driving in the dunes, we need more people like Matt and his crew
Wow within seconds that sand started to pile by your tow rope.
You’re mic’d up! Awesome improvement!
Totally agree, sounds good!
these videos make me appreciate the time my dad spent with me teaching me how to drive... i guess rather than being frustrated that not everybody know i should be happy that i do
I am constantly amazed by the inability of your clients to actually try to help themselves, it’s a good thing for you Matt you make money out of it.
Im not sure the honda would’ve been able to get out... idk maybe it could’ve
Although that Hyudai Tucson video is what Im more amazed at than this. It somehow managed to get through the trail in 2wd and then he got stuck
Love the « long way home » - we can tell that you enjoy the dune bashing... 🤙🏻 We also do here in Dubai (our own sand pit 😜)
Lionel Boutry
Dunes are the most fun. Especially when you narrowly escape a rollover and adrenaline skyrockets 😂 Matt drives too slow for me!
Love your videos!! Makes me wanna get out there! BTW the audio sounds good even in the wind!
That cracked me up. Poor guy just isn’t a car guy, no confidence in driving or understanding that there is concrete under the sand on the road and not on the shoulder. Matt you’re such a nice guy to these people too, that’s awesome. Good content man.
No wonder the dogs want to join you on recoveries. They got an adventurous life. Best life a dog can ask for ❤️. I see how much you love them.
Doc, I'm cured of my crack cocaine addiction, but I'm now addicted to Matt's Off Road Recovery RUclips channel!
The desert trail was the perfect closing of this video!
I love how the country Matt & Co. drive through is like one Windows desktop wallpaper after another. I know what towing is like, I've done it, and it's not all glory and beautiful days, but to be able to do so in some of the world's most beautiful countryside has to be a bonus. I live in the foothills of the Pyrénées and know what it's like to rise over a crest and have the scenery take my breath away, and it still does after 20 years of living here. Whatever the crap life throws at you, nature has a way of bringing you back to what's important: sky, mountains, water, loved ones and, of course, your dawg.
Oh Matt! You have such a great heart for helping people! I love watching as many of your videos as I can when I get the opportunity. I like the way you decided to take Ed on a little detour through the dunes! Cheers from Bakersfield, California!
Love the mic set up. Did very well in the wind.
I wonder if anybody has gotten stuck on purpose just so they can be in Matt's video 🤣
I like the way you include Ed. Make him feel like he's part of the job
You mentioned in a video you need a script.... no, the best thing about your.vlogs is you’re natural, honest and humble!
I live in the Cotswolds UK .
Where you live and work the countryside is stunning .
Really enjoy watching your videos . Keep up the good work
As you’re driving through the dunes, I kept saying, “there the Jeep off in the distance ... nope, it’s another bush.’🤣
Same lol
You're a good man showing junior how to roll on a dune.
To be fair to the guy with the Accord, it must be scary being stranded so far from the main road with no survival gear and probably no, or very little, water. Hard to think straight when you're really afraid.
Another great video and day at the office! New camera and external mic is helping! Can't wait to see the next video!
I love ED! Cool dude.
I love how you treat Ed and I love max and lady ❤
A hearty thanks for the guided tour of the dunes Mighty nice, as are the mountains in the background.
Just discovered your channel, great quality videos, nice job.
That was a great video Matt. Just the fact that you took Ed across where he has never been before was awesome. You're a great dude man!
My God with the steering wheels. Why can no one understand to keep them straight, especially when getting pulled backwards?
"Ehh I don't need to tell him to keep it straight, I'm only pulling him a few feet"
*guy in car* IMMEDIATELY TURNS WHEEL
Love your videos Matt! I like how you're always nice and never make your customers feel like idiots.
Matt you and your family, good ol' Ed, the dogs and crew are the best! Genuine good people. Your Volgs are good clean fun.
These videos make me want to move to Utah
the mormons are a little wacko tho
Utah seems like it was made for me. Wish I lived there. I live in the US’s butt hole. There is no where to off road like this or anything fun to do.

sweet! fresh episode! the dunes look like fun :) PS - More Ed, please
Thanks for taking the long way home.like your dogs.
Thanks for the audio improvements! I can actually hear what you're saying, even when, or especially when, it's windy!
At 14:22, that is not the long way home, its the fun way home. :-)
When you can have a little fun on the job, it’s a good day!
I'm a nostalgic kind of guy but I'm loving the clear sound and video. Nice job, guys!
Thanks for the tour!
Just gotta say: That Jeep is awesome! 👍🏻👍🏻. 🇺🇸😎
he needs to upload more often always checking if theres a new video😛
Addicting
@@echo1er very been watching the old ones over and over again hahaha.. great stuff..
Your patience with that guy in the Honda was commendable.
Thanks for taking me on this one...life is short...great idea ditching the roofing
Would love to see detailed images of where/what you're connecting to with the "frame" attachment hooks. Especially the unibody's.
Every car has all kinda holes under there or you can use or beefy suspension components :) its just a matter of improvising and using the best hookup points
Jan Andersson some cars even have a small square spot that can be popped off for tow trucks , so they can bring the vehicle onto the bed
I like how your dogs run on the edge and follow your path. One of the main reason why I watch your videos not gonna lie.
Lol
Awesome video. I never knew that sand could be so beautiful. I love watching your dogs play out there. 👊☮️
Greatinngs from Maine Matt and Winder Towing finest.. Beautiful video.. love that you brought us with you Thur the dunes.. really would like to visit Utah now since I been watching your channel looks absolutely gorgeous out that way...
WE LOVE ED..!!!!! 💚💚💚💚💚
Matt you need tee shirt that say, Keep The Steering Wheel Straight. Just a thought.
Nice outro tunes! Really love the content, would love to hear what your Jeep is setup like.
Jakeob Folowell He has a video titled “Jeep Tech”, go check it out, he’s done extensive mods to make that Jeep perform like it does.
Thanks for the tour. Beautiful scenery! Love watching the dogs too!
I'm so glad this "old" video came up on my recommendation list. Happy to see the early productions, now going to have to go back and view some of the history!
love the mic on your person and new camera quality
I’d get stuck just so I can say y’all came to the rescue LoL
The new mic thing is pretty cool! Works great!
The Mic sounds WAY BETTER! Huge difference in the wind.
Mic: 10/10
I see one of the comments on here was puzzled why the jeep should be stuck as it didn't look bad, oh the instant I saw that footage of how the jeep sat and was equipped tire wise ( no idea if the tires were aired down or not though ) with small stock tires and my guess is open diffs, takes nothing spin out once the axles get crossed up like that and with no forward momentum one front and the opposite rear tire kick the sand out from those tires leaving the other two tires high and dry carrying most of the weight of the vehicle. Happens quick and not easy to get out of once it happens with an under equipped driveline. Also goes back to companies like Jeep and others giving new owners too much confidence in their rigs as its all about selling vehicles and why we see all wheel drive low to the ground SUV's being pulled out quite often in places they should never have even entertained going in the first place. Oh well, it makes for some good chuckles and entertainment to watch it on here !.
Microphone sounds awesome!!!! I found your page about a month ago and have watched damn near every video!! Love it. Keep up the great work!
I enjoy the video of you driving to and from the recovery just as much as the recovery itself. Amazing country out there in Utah.
