130 Mile Rescue. That Was Scary!!

- The first job was a Kia sport age pulling a small trailer that became stuck in the sand out at Sand Hollow State Park.
Because it wasn’t stuck too bad, it was fairly easy to get them out on solid ground.
The second job was 130 miles away from the shop out on the Arizona strip in a place called White pocket.
The customer had become stuck in sand in a very remote area without good cell coverage.
She did manage to get a text out with her GPS coordinates so we were able to pinpoint her location.
After driving for several hours, we were able to find the customer and get them safely back to their motel.
The third job was a Chevy Silverado that have become stuck at Sand Hollow State Park.
Even though the truck was practically sitting on the frame, we were able to get a good tug on it, and pull them to safety.

Matt now you really know how valuable you’re service is. That poor lady was mega scared. God bless all who helped.
that would be 5k maam , or you can just stay and find someone else to pull you out 😈
@Comrade Doggo are you kidding? I think the banana is probably the best off-road vehicle in the world
@Comrade Doggo New Wrangler V8 would be at least $60k before necessary upgrades. Matt buys these older Cherokees for around $5k each and builds them up. He has a few of them now for more rescues. Huge cost difference.
@@danielsilvagoncalves96 YES EXACTLY smart man. They even had Toyaota transmissions to boot seriously look up the AW4 transmissions name Aisin Warner right out of the Japan plant🤪
@@SarahSmith-hd8kd The aw4 is not a toyota transmission nor was it designed by them. It was designed by AMC and borg warner and built by aisin.... Toyota was part of aisin, but they didnt design it.

I‘ve had a really bad day today. When I came home, I wasn‘t just down. I wasn‘t just sad. I was depressed.
But watching Matt help this poor, scared Lady, made me believe in humanity again.
Matt, you are a hero.
Matt, that was the best thing I've seen in a while, you helping that lady and all. On behalf of humanity and all of us that have mothers, thank you.
You guys are awesome. That poor woman with the rental was scared to death, you treated her with kindness and went well beyond what a lot of people would do for a stranger. Well done. (Love my Winder hat, BTW)
Europeans love to see the American Desert. Here in Joshua Tree a young German couple died in the desert when their rented Camaro got stuck in the heat of Summer.
I'd like to know how much you charged her.
Matt is allll professional
@@iguanapete3809 The German couple actually had two kids with them too.
@@jaytrock3217 You may be referring to the Germans who died in Death Valley? I read the story from the guy who found their remains much later. Interesting story to read. That was a couple and 2 kids. Very dangerous heading out off road in Death Valley in the summer. And then hiking in the wrong direction (they probably thought the Naval testing station would have helped, but there wouldn't have been help there).
Way back in '79 or '80 I was towing an old Dodge Army truck behind a '73 Land Cruiser. Bad idea. We rolled the LC on the highway just outside of Hurricane. Matt's predecessor hauled us back to his yard, then set us up with a place to stay till my brother came from Cali to take us home. Pretty much everybody in town knew what happened and took care of us. (It was really a small town then.) Good to see that small town friendliness and hospitality is still alive and well in Hurricane. Thanks Matt for these entertaining and uplifting videos.
back in the mid 90s, my dad and I were towing a small travel trailer up towards Cedar City. Blew a U-joint on the driveshaft and someone offered to stop at the first mechanic and call us a tow (what did we do before cell phones!!) and an hour or so later, a truck from Condie's towing showed up to get us. Picked up the truck and trailer all in one go with his old wheel lift truck and hauled us back into St. George. I don't remember if his shop did the repair or if he dropped us somewhere else, but the same day, they grabbed a driveshaft out of the yard, installed a new yoke and U-joint and had us on the way.
No idea if they're still in business or not but really great people who even let a young me play on the Nintendo in the back office.
It shows your a good man when u go the extra mile to help people, u drove that lady all the way to her hotel, even tho it was late and u had a long drive back. Great job Matt👍🖒
I just can't get enough of your videos. You're living a great life. It's good to see someone that doesn't cuss constantly, loves his family, his dogs, and his work. I really appreciate how patient you are with people.
“Drove her to her motel room”... wow! That is going above and beyond, but certainly what the situation required, well done!👍
She was freaked out hardcore. She never would have made it there herself even on pavement.
Not sure what country she was from, but she has a good story to tell and will tell everyone how kind you were

That guy in the kia coulda dug him self out but he wanted to be on the Matt's Towing & Recovery show.
Hey, for him, business is business! Nothing wrong with easy money haha.
He was on a downhill looks like, coulda reversed. He probably didn't want to get super buried.
Likely just dig himself deeper. You gotta know when to stop digging and ask for help.
Kia could have been 2wd? Either way it's on street tires at street pressure.
Front wheel drive and a trailer, no way.
You could feel that lady's relief. Good job, gentlemen.
2:28 “can you aim me in that direction” 😂😂 sounds like a Kia owner
I think after he found out there was gravel camping lots & had already called for service, he just wanted to make sure he made it to where he was confident in being able to not get stuck again - say like right after they drove off or something but it definitely looked like he could have came back on out the way he came after that little pull to the flat pack, except that short run up hill to the asphalt looked fairly chewed up, deeper & soft as where he sank in.
That's the most emotional video I've seen on this channel, my jaw dropped when i heard the reaction of this woman when she sees you Matt
@JayJ_The_ CreekerMan It's russian woman, they don't scary :)
You were an angel in the dark for that poor scared to death woman! She will never forget the kindness you showed her.
Matt is very kind to a frightened lady. Just the right tone. Well done. He drove he All that way to her motel. Above and beyond the call of duty. And that's why so many people watch. Matt's a nice guy and a good family man.
Well now we know. Matt's Off Road recovery doesn't just tow them out...he tows them in, too.! Lol! Nice ending, Matt. Thanks for entertaining me and my family with good, clean, light-hearted helpfulness. It's something good to watch online.
First guy was in a campground area surrounded by trucks and not a single person offered to pull him out? Good for your business but makes me sad for humanity.
It's crazy to me how much people spend on covering there jeeps in recovery gear and dont stop to help anyone.
There's not much to latch onto on those CUVs. I stopped to help a lady out the other day and her little Jeep Liberty or whatever had no trailer hitch in the rear and no tow hooks up front. Unless you have pro gear, like those J hooks on a chain, you could cause a lot of damage if you don't know what you're doing and hook up where you shouldn't. That Kia in the first segment would have been an easy pull out from the rear, since he has a receiver. That little Runaway mini camper could have easily been rotated 90 degrees by hand and pulled out. Then the Kia could have been pulled out from the rear. I could have easily done it with my tow strap.
I thought that was weird too. Our philosophy is leave nobody behind. If you can't get them out, give them a ride.
@@rtp3962 "Leave nobody behind" Great words to live by. 👍
And I never accept a dime to help someone out because next time it could be my turn to get stuck.
There was nothing to tie a strap too. Most people don’t go out with tow truck recovery hooks, just straps that loop onto tow hooks or hitches. Most people are willing to help but if there’s nothing on the car to hook up to then most can’t help. This is the price you pay when you off-road in a vehicle that has no business being off road.
I'm coming to Utah this spring and fully intend to get myself stuck just so I can call you guys haha

Agreed! Matt did an excellent job helping her. People usually make bad decisions when panicked and this story could easily have been a search and rescue story instead. Back in the 1980's I lived for several seasons in that little house where you rescued that poor lost lady. I wish you would have been there in the daylight, I would have loved to see the place again. It was a 100 section (100 sq miles) ranch in those days. Lots of adventures I could relate. We would go to white pockets for sunday afternoons. No one went there in those days, there was no parking lot or fence. I went back a few years ago, the house was the same at big sink, many corals and flea dips were all fallen down. Seen the old brand XX (x-diamond-x) on a fence board, the place where my brother lost his toe and my name still carved in the sandstone at poverty, which is nothing but the barn where my dad was attacked by a mountain lion. Yes, lots of memories. I love your channel Matt. I found it several months ago and enjoyed seeing the scenery. Now I love to also see you and Jamie, Randy, Ed and Lizzy and everyone else like family. Its a great way to escape the gray gloom of Seattle, an escape I look forward to. Thanks for all your hard work producing these videos.

I am amazed that none of the campers parked by the first guy in the Kia, offered to pull him out. I can't count how many folks I have pulled out in my many years off roading. For free. Just to help out. I am a firm believer in "What goes around, Comes around".
I am 71 yo and that has been my life theme. I try to never skip a chance to help someone - makes me happy - and .... feel I've been amply repaid!
Not many people have correct equipment, training or vehicles to help out. Many people out there are tourists in rental cars, most of the crap there looks like a off road vehicle but is less capable than a volvo station wagon.
I used to be the guy to offer my time pulling people out untill 2 people tried to sue me for damages on their vehicle they did themselves in the process of getting stuck.
