5 Ton on the Job! Big Bus Conversion Stuck in the Sand!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 2 июн 2021
- We are On the Road Again, this time to recover a Big Bus and trailer stuck in the Sand. Four different towing companies had responded and none were able to get it pulled out. So with a few decades of experience and the right tool for the job we were able to just hook up and pull the bus out without breaking a sweat. We added some bonus footage at the end. Stuff we have not put together yet. We have had somewhere around 25 calls since I posted the last video on May 24th. Hopefully we will get some time to catch up and get them all posted. If not we will save them for a rainy day. Thanks for coming along for the ride and Thanks for Watching Casey

They were lucky to get this guy. Won't start? I'll fix that. Hitch messed up? I'll fix that? Stuff needs to get Loaded? I'll help with that.
Good guy doing a good job.
I was chuckling over that. How many times have they unloaded and loaded that stuff and let Casey do the heavy lifting. Best part is he didn't even mind. Good job.
@@offroad6309 I'm guessing if Casey hadn't helped, most would have been left.
Especially that pallet.
Probably charges way to little
For what he does.. he reminds me
Of my dad, will give a shirt off his back for those in need and dont leave till the job is done.
Casey, you rock!
Respect
$4,000 job ...
@@carmineredd1198 Time, fuel, equipment, labor. Nothing is free and no one rides around the desert with a 5-ton just in case someone gets stuck.
5 ton, Nodwell, and some Randy. Happy days 👍
Randy! It's great to hear your laugh. I hope you get to ride along with Casey some more. I've missed your smiles and laughs.
Yeah. Randy always seems to be in a good mood or to find something to laugh at.
Is there a story I missed about Casey and Matt and now Randy.
I thought that was randy
My understanding of hidden non direct comments by Casey, is that there is a lot of historical tension between Casey and Matt.

Well done brother, gosh the 5T didn't even pucker up. It just walked right through the task.
All good.
Nice to hear Randy's laugh!
I knew that laugh in a instant as well. 2 good guys.
I wondered about Randy's abrupt disappearance.
Variety is the spice of life
Wondered why it all went quiet over at Matts? Did he walk or was bought?
@@dartmoordave Probably quit due to principles OR got fired for taking up too much of the limelight.
He said he was let go in March. Definitely a minus for them but a plus for anyone he gets together with!
"I've always had a real truck" LOL
Thanks for the video and the humor, nice to hear Mr. Randy's laugh. You always go so much farther to help people than 99% of other tow companies. Not just pulling her out but helping her load up her stuff, hooking the bus up for her, getting the bus started, fixing the crappy hitch and etc. Nice to see it all done without drama or pomp and circumstance. Casey if you watch videos check out Sumter Wrecker sometime; he is like you just a calm voice telling customers "don't worry we will get you out" , Thanks again for the video.
Thanks for the kind words.
@@iffykidmn8170 it wasn't going to get cleaned up without Casey doing it.
Sad fact.

24 years is good.
Great to have the right equipment to do a safe and damage free recovery.
The 5 ton looks good without the water tank on the back. Thank you for taking us along for the ride.
How to bury a bus...step 1, leave the hard pack!
Nice job guys. 👍👍❤️
They should have a heap of Casey's business cards at the park office to hand out, to anyone planning on pulling off the pavement, most certainly to any big rigs as the odds would not be in ones favour as per the sinking bus demo and pulling a trailer to boot. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the staff at the park gates take bets when they see certain rigs come though as to if they will end up needing to call for a tow.
Not only does he pull them out, he jumps right in to help load up camp! Casey and crew are good people!
Yes!! Good people. I think he also does it to get them to leave in case they are still hesitant to stay. LOL Good job Casey!! Greetings from Córdoba, Argentina.
If you have to have a school bus and a camper to go camping ....then you're taking too much shit! LOL
Good job Casey! You went over and above, like you usually do! I hope you get fully compensated for what you do all the time
The 5ton is a great piece of equipment
The bubba rope is too
A bus in the desert...🤣...great job Casey!
Nice job getting all of that straightened out Casey and Becky .
Nice job. I suspect a lot of your job is calming down your clients. That is a gift.
At the end, I always smile watching brodozers being pulled out of places their owners _thought_ their trucks could go but the aftermarket mods made it worse.
When you lift an 80k truck and make it worthless at anything except off-road and STILL get stuck!
@@cdodge2996 Lifting usually makes them worse offroad. Doesn't help that they usually put ridiculously low profile tires on them too, removing most of the benefits you get when you air down.
And not a winch in sight either!
As long as it looks cool tho that's all that matters. Oh and it rolls coal that's equally important to the brodozer.
I spent 7 years driving & wrenching on the M800 & M900-series 5-ton trucks in the Marine Corps. The driving characteristics, instrument cluster, controls, and everything else all came flooding back in a wave of nostalgia while watching the lead-in to the bus recovery. And, I'll second all of the "good job" comments!
Great machines. Thanks for your service.
Great job performed by a humble man. God bless and keep you.
Another great show the scenery is spectacular. I like the final comment the jeep wasn’t in park.
It's good to see the 5 Ton out and about. That bus was no problem. It helps when you have a 5 Ton to know how and when to use it. Full service like usual... recovering, loading, fixing... they finally got the right company out there. That rollover scene what quite something. Thanks for taking us along.
Doesn't matter the size of the ride, always a pleasure for Casey to bring us along for the ride. Can't wait for the next ride.
That lose hitch was pretty scary that could have been a catastrophe on the road.
Mahalo for the ride.
Piece of cake! Who would want to be living in a bus when gas is high? Everyday you meet interesting people
Spectacular man. You guys so saved their day on so many levels. We'd never get anywhere without folks like you out there.
Randy? That you my friend? Saw a post on another channel that said you might have landed here. Good to hear your cheerful voice!

Love what a beast these 5 tons are barely strained it, lol.
Thanks for that 5 ton intro, Casey.
Much love And stay safe.

RANDY!!! alive and well...
Sorry , even though the 5 ton was perfect for this job where it stayed on the hard packed gravel road, I don't think we've seen it in blow sand yet and I am a bit dubious about it's capabilitys in that medium. Can't wait to be convinced that the 5 ton is as capable as it is cool with a rescue where both vehicles are in that blow sand. Lol I always enjoy the ride.👍
I use it in the sand quite often and it does and excellent job. I have pulled out dozens of motorhomes, buses, boats etc. watch more of my video's. If the 5 ton isn't the tool for the job I also have the Noddy, a loader, a skid steer, multiple jeeps and a whole arsenal of recovery rigs at my disposal.
@@CaseysOffRoadRecovery Casey, love the channel and didn't mean to get your hackles up. Im just another keyboard recovery guy but with a little more of an analytical mind than most, so I really pay attention to your techniques and watch how the equipment reacts under the different circumstances. All vehicles have their strengths and weakness and thought I had spotted a weakness in the 5 ton, yet I've only seen you use it a few times where it really had to work, so admittedly a very small data sampling. I admit that the Noddy is my favorite, that thing is just awsome, such a unique vehicle. It just needs a little better protection for the operator. I think if there was a road to the moon the Noddy could handle it. I will of course keep watching and continue to enjoy the ride. Thanks
No hackles up here. Enjoy the conversation's and comments. Each vehicle has a weaknesss, but with the whole fleet, it reminds me of the song Convoy.......I can promise ya this....I would hate to get that sucker stuck!
I have to believe the military would Spec. a 5 ton such that it MUST handle sand. After all, Casey is not always around to extract them.
@@gregparrott Actually yes it is a requirement.
Boy Casey, every time I see the 5 ton is the star of the post it brings a smile to my face so thanks for that, good to see your back up was Becky 👍. Looks like the season is beginning with all kinds of fun stuff, well give Poppy a pat and thanks for taking us along for the ride and as always stay safe you all.
Thanks Steve I appreciate you.
You got heart with your wife Randy. You certainly go the extra mile for people. Humble working man you are.
As always " Above and beyond" the call of duty!!! You're scaring me when you get in front of or behind their rig and they're at the wheel....don't trust them too much.😅 Even Superman can get in a pickle.
As always I thoroughly appreciate what you do and thanks for bringing me along for the ride!
Great to hear Randy's laugh at the end, he is a great guy! Nice recovery your 5 Ton makes everything look easy.
Didn't realize it's 100 degrees+ weather in your region already.. summer started, the year goes fast. Don't forget to drink in the deserts **plop** !! ;)
I am so impressed that the bus made it up that far on that road. That road is so unforgiving.
Hey! Lets park a bus in soft sand...what could possibly go wrong. 🤣 Good job geting them out mate and helping them whit everything.
Thanks again, Always look forward to seeing your videos.
Thanks again!
Next best thing to a Noddy video!!! Great works as always !!! As im typing ........Bonus Noddy footage !!!!

Great recovery Casey... Put the ol' 5 ton to work... Also.. great to hear that contagious laugh from Randy.
You made that job look easy, even though it's not. You got the right tool for the job.
Thanks for sharing and God bless you.
“It wasn’t in park!” At the end.... priceless
that's exactly what I said in my comment.. I always wait to see people put rolled vehicles in gear.. always a good laugh when not in gear..lmao
As always Casey saves the day with no drama, good show.
It just amazes me what people will take out onto the sand..
Me too. They have trailers as well. I just don't get it.
900 plus years ago the Chinese built sailing vessels that had Wheels that transport goods across the Yellow Desert of China.
I have a 4WD diesel F-250 crew cab. It’s awesome towing and on packed dirt roads. I actually use 4WD a lot, but again, only on decent dirt roads. The issue is that the motor alone weighs 1/2 ton, and the truck digs itself into a hole quickly on loose sand or gravel.
@@CarlosRodriguez-hb3vq diesel engines do not in general have the RPM range in 1ton 3/4 ton trucks to give you the power to dig yourself out with your wheels, in sand. As you said you dig your own grave in loose dry sand ⌛⏳
and how often they "send it" when that is what they have to drive home.
Thank you for sharing
Hay mate,another great vid.
Thanks.
I will give you credit Casey you go the extra mile to help people out it is more then just the recovery I truly respect that.
The bus wasn't a challenge at all for the 5 ton

I get a bus is cheap buy for the size but they need more maintenance than some paint to cover the SCHOOL to be a reliable daily RV.
Depends on the bus, they’re all built like tanks. Just yeah… this one needs some love
You have way more patience than I do, good job. Brought to you by "it wasn't in park"
Nice work!

Great to hear Randy laughing again!!
Ya do it rite every time .. Big stux need big trux and tools . Full service Ma'am !!
Nice intro you have now! That bus and people looked sketch busted out drivers window on the bus, I wonder what the real story is there, almost looked like a homeless camp except for the newer trailer and 4 runner, no tools cant drive the 4 runner out turning the wheels the wrong way...yikes Casey you do such a great job with all this!
Perhaps 'adult beverages' were in effect for the broken window (locked keys inside?) and parking a rig like that on soft sand at 4AM
@@TD_YT066 or something a bit more powerful!! Sure looked like it
Sometimes having a good person help them out breaks their streak of bad luck!
Easy as can be with the right amount of weight. 😎
That external air filter is cool
Almost never disconnect your trailer.
my goodness what a great catch @11:30.
i know somebody who almost didn't make it after a frontal collision w/ a detached trailer. i don't drive behind them since..
love the blue line bus!
Is Poppy going to be a permanent helper with the 5 ton?
Well that's 1 way to drain the fluids.
Came here following Randy, to be honest.
Seems like a really bad place to bring a bus, but adding that big camper sort of was the icing on the cake.
At least the 5 ton made it look easy getting out the bus.
I give you credit, not sure I could bite my tongue thru that project 😏
👍👍
Man...that 5 ton pulled that bus like it was on the pavement!! Wow.
Heavy vehicles and soft dry sand.... Not a good combo at all. Then there’s the 5T and an experienced driver. 😂. Just as long as that thing doesn’t start bouncing. You know what I’m talking about. Once that starts, you might as well stop because you’re only digging yourself deeper. Appreciate the ride as always.
Yup I gotcha!
I can't imagine taking a bus up to the water tanks. That road is so rough!
