Traffic Stop Turns Up $100,000 Worth of Cocaine

- On March 23, 2021, a traffic stop was conducted on a speeding vehicle in Osseo, WI. While the officer made contact with the occupants, they claimed there was nothing illegal in the vehicle. When the K9 was deployed, she was alerted to the odor of narcotics. Police ended up discovering a rectangular shape object tucked inside a concealed area of the vehicle.

*The District Attorney that dismissed the case contacted me with the following info:*
"I objected to the motion to suppress, filed a written brief, and called the arresting officer to testify at the motion hearing. I argued that the officer’s observations (e.g. the short term rental, the unusual travel plans, the passenger’s efforts to hasten the conclusion of the stop, etc.) rose to the level of reasonable suspicion to believe that criminal activity was occurring. Thus, the extension to permit the K9 sniff was permissible.
Unfortunately, the judge disagreed. The judge found that the defendants’ most incriminating actions (the strongest reasonable suspicion) occurred after the “mission of the traffic stop” had concluded. The judge found that, prior to the officer reinitiating contact with the vehicle, the officer’s suspicions were “just a hunch,” and not reasonable suspicion. The judge granted Powell’s motion to suppress on the grounds that the officer did not have sufficient reasonable suspicion to extend the traffic stop beyond the point at which the officer completed his citations.
Because the judge suppressed the key evidence in the case (the cocaine), I had no choice but to dismiss the case. Based on the judge’s adverse ruling in the Powell case, I also had to dismiss Larkins’ case.
I write to let you know that my office didn’t dismiss these cases willingly. We fought to defend the work of law enforcement, and to hold these defendants accountable."

Agreed. It was so funny for him to be all serious and then suddenly start talking to the doggo like that.
You have to. These dogs are trained to find something. When they find something, you reward them with play. With the play comes the higher tone of voice so they know they did what they were supposed to do. It’s the paycheck the dog works for. It’s how they’re trained. They associate the odors with prey. Lol! "Wha-dya mean gat nothin" 😂
It blows my mind that people hauling drugs drive recklessly risking being stopped by the police. The arrogance ! The idiocy ! If I was hauling 100K in illegal goods my driving would be at its best.
Cop could be lying on the speed
Cocaine is a hell of a drug
@@B_midnight_007 if the cop is lying on the speed then the case could be dismissed.. right? cause he had no reason to stop him to begin with so everything after that is irrelevant

I've heard of gang bosses doing test runs with their drivers to check their speed. They give him a destination and if they are faster than expected, they're taught lesson.
I’m actually so happy for them they got off, bc honestly that was not enough suspicion for them to search
(Aiding and abetting) “What was the charge involved?”
Suspect casually: “I think it was like murder or something” 😂😂
😂😂😂😂 Weakkkkk
that part got me too hahah
I know right! I’m like murder or something? I mean it’s murder or it’s not. Come on!
He also said he was a minor, so chances are that record is sealed so he doesn't even have to tell the cop anything about it. Just like every other time people need to just keep quiet. IMO cops don't even need to know where you're coming from or going to. they can just write the ticket and go away and bother the next person.
So they dismissed the charge of felony possession of a controlled substance that was 2.5lbs and worth $100,000, yet we have people locked up on weed charges since the 70’s!? Am I missing something??
Snitch
I thought the same thing, but then realized the PROSECUTOR was the one that dismissed the case. That definitely means they are rats 🐀
Being that it's a rental, they probably couldn't prove it was theirs. Or like yall stated ,🐀.
@@ultimatesunriseyou're uneducated and so are the 6 others that liked your comment.

The dog alerted to the driver side door but the first compartment the officer checks is the trunk? 🤣
Who TF travels 20mph over the speed limit with felony levels of illicit drugs in the car? Just asking to be arrested. Then again, these aren't rocket scientist-level IQs we're dealing with here.
Imagine being the perp. You've got officers that are cool as ice interrogating you and then they bring out a dog to search your car and they're all "good girl, where is it? find it girl, goo-girllll" with hearts in their eyes. What a riot
So glad this guy beat the case. That officer was reaching and had no RAS to pullout that search mutt.
😂😂😂 love 😍🥺😇😂
How did the case get dropped? what did the cops do wrong, or that bullet hole was all they needed to onow that was a car for smugglers and could have said its not theirs
I don’t see how ‘twas dissmised
@Laron.G cause the cop assumed he was guilty of something based off his record. Also the cop assumed they were guilty from the start asking them those questions based off them having a rental and his past experiences with other people. Only thing he should have done was issue the citation and be on his way
never commit a misdemeanor while committing a felony
Good advice and I understand the sentiment, but this is almost never possible lol
Soft on crime judges make moving narcissistics simple and relatively low risk. Case in point this judge forced a dismissal.
Going 90 mph with $100,000 worth of dope is foolish
nope ppl go 20 over all day and dont get pulled over, also it reduces time spent on highway so there is a reward for the risk
- What did you go to jail for?
- um… Murder, basically.

Good for the Judge for following standard procedure and upholding the law even if people don't like it.

Stupid people are everywhere. I would be going the exact speed limit
When pulled over by police, continue to utter this phrase"I don't answer irrelevant questions" The more questions you answer the more questions they will ask you.
It amazes me that people blatantly break traffic law when trafficking drugs. Then why they talk nonstop, tripping over their own story, and don't just shut up cracks me up.
Lol I’m telling u man it’s just mind blowing. Before trying to pull that off you have to be on point with everything.
there on coke lol what you expect
I paid a ticket, but instead of a receipt, I got a letter saying I still owed for an older ticket and my license was suspended until it was paid. I'd bought the car used and the ticket had been issued to its previous owner. Mailed in the appropriate paperwork, and within two weeks got a letter saying that my license had been restored. But during that time, I drove like a saint -- to and from work only during daylight hours. If I'd been driving with $100K in coke and an murder-related charge, I would have driven like a god!!!
Cause they puppet and don’t know better haha
I ask myself the samething. I get high sometimes and so I have personal use amounts on me, but I always drive with 2 hands and use cruise control on long stretches of roads, so I don't break any traffic laws. And even though I can eat my drugs, I obey all laws so I can get home and party 🥳
