This was such a low-key great Russell Peters moments!!! I remember hearing it so long ago when I was young but didn't appreciate it then like I just did now ... when watching it now as an adult I really think this is one of my favorite Russell Peters moments! When I was younger and I first heard this I focus on this sukhdeep part of it... but now I appreciate the part about his name and how it is very unindian. My name is Devin Thomas and both of my parents are from India and I am first generation American. But my name doesn't sound Indian just like Russell Peters.... And then when he said his name means to make a noise I really understood now how smart and funny that joke was omg!!!! I'm dying hahaha
Russell Peters was the first comedian I ever saw, back in 2005 in the land of the pirated DVDs one of his specials was circulating the country, didn't see much of him after cause no Google at the time. Eventually in the time of the RUclips I started watching other comedians from Carlin to Rogan to Jefferies to Segura but Russell's brand of comedy was always unique and never not funny to me.
There was Google at the time, his famous special was uploaded to Google videos which was more popular then RUclips for most of 2005 until Google bought RUclips. Thats what made him so famous, it was the somebody gonna get a hurty real bad special.

My cultural name means “boiled rice pudding” in my main language and my sisters name means “chocolate rice pudding” in our main language
Soo cute 🤗
Wow your parents love pudding
Mines mean made of/from oak
Which language is that?
@@Mike--Oxmall I live in Fiji mate. Google was something we got to use when we went to the two urban cities on the island and paid to use the Internet at a net cafe once or twice a year. I saw Russell Peters on DVD.
“What’s your sister’s name? Herbal Essence?”😂😂😂
I can watch any of his stand up and laugh. He's hilariously
It's sad that most Indians have forgotten about the Anglo-Indians. Many of them migrated to Australia and Canada after the British left bit their are still many around in Bombay, Calcutta and South India.
We know about them.
We had constitutional provisions for them. 2 seats were reserved for them. Now the provision has ended.
what's there to remember, they are just normal people like any other Indian. Or just some Indian practicing Christianity.
"Talk to my parents Eric & Maureen....and my brother Julio" 🤣🤣
I thought he was joking!! Yet his brother is really named Julio!!!
valevale72 Bullshit. His older brother is Clayton.
@@valevale72 did you search up his family name? Like how creepy can you be? Embrace your indian name like im anglo indian and scottish and my names declan. Its an irish name. I get judged on my name sometimes too it happens. Indian people actually have english names.... Wait till you meet all my family and hear their english names since you're so confused about a fellow indian having an english name lmfao
@@WOLFPATCH360 creepy? sweetheart I simply read and watch his videos..are u serious?
@@valevale72 lmfao i dont think you read my point.. I simply said indian people, (anglicans included) can have english names because you seem suprised that russell's brothers named julio. Lool nothing against you but just searching up his family info is kinda creepy.
He's the KING of stand up comedy mahn..! 😍😘😁😎😂😂
I don't know, all of his race jokes start getting a bit old if you keep watching him, its the only sort of jokes he can manage, hes more into shock value then actual comedy.
The word " Mana " in my Eritrean language means " Gift from God " but here in Uganda, where I am currently liviling, means " Vagina " 😂😂😂😂😂. Russell is so right on that point lol
"your Sister smells great"
"It's Herbal"
😂😂😂
HERBAL ESSENCE😁
I had a friend named Michael Hunt and he always insisted we never introduce him as 'Mike...'
This Russell Peter guy is really Funny, i hope he’ll be a Great Comedian One Day
I went to school with a Dikshit Patel, no joke! He's on point! 😂😂
😂😂
Made my day today (2/11/2020). After watching the video, and get here to read all the comments which even make me to laugh out loud. Lol. Best comments here ever!
roasted my name too :-)
it means "From the heart"
Is it a male name because if it is I can tell you I would love to date somebody with your name lol and then introduce that person to my friends and family that would be hilarious🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well it is blood circulation related 🤣❤️😂
Indians are effortlessly funny lmao 😂😂😂
@@IrenaDeacon Right after you will tell his indian name to your parents, he will tell-"My name is Larry. Nice to meet you!"

Guys Hardik has a great meaning, he just says that way only for laugh.
Hardik means Cordial, heartfelt,unpretentious
No one cares. 😅😅
@ rite
Indians with non-Indian names have British heritage.
Russell has an English ancestor, probably someone who was in the British Navy stationed in India.
Korean family name Lee is actually pronouced 'i' and Park is pronounced 'bak' in Korea.
Russell: Who the hell names their kid Hardik?
Parents who named their kids Hardik: Are we a joke to you?
Hardik means hearteous, dimvit! Its just like how silly your name means in Hindi.
@@mavenqualityassurancecouns6128 not Hindi its Sanskrit.
@@prajwalkannadiga8737 It means the same in Hindi, Marathi ,pali , Sanskrit, kannada and many others . We Marathi people use it in daily conversation. That guy is probably s Hindi speaker, so he used his own language as reference
I had a chinese colleague who was called Fuk Mi. Each time I needed to call her, I couldn't keep it straight :)
I legit have a friend named Sukhdeep and a friend named Hardik. Lol.
Simran Kaur hope you shared the laughter.
Offcourse u r a Sikh girl
You are SIM RUN
And neither of those are pronounced the way you think 🙄 Get over yourself
@@shubbadubba obviously I know that you idiot. This comment is two years old. How far down in the comment section did your bored self have to scroll down to see a two year old comment? 😂😂😂😂😂
Meaning of the name Anit is 'Joyful unending'
The best video on RUclips 😂
I was watching the cricket world cup a while back, and I'm NOT even kidding here, I saw the name hardik on the screen. I remembered that Russell Peters roasted his name, and legit spit out my soda XDDDD
Hardik Pandya rings a bell?
He picked two random guys from the audience and still they have names like Aneet and Prabhjyot. I mean, those names are unique even here too. I was hoping them to be more like Rakesh or Sanjay or Sandeep.😁😁
I’m a ham radio operator and I hear ( and read ) of other radio operators over the world. There is a well known radio ham from India his name is Jose Jacobs his call sign is VU2JOS you can look it up on google . Another Indian hams surname happens to be Fernandes and a Sri Lankan radio listener is Victor Goonetilleke
How sukhdeep (Sookh-dheep) becomes Suckdeep in English cracks me up, poor guy must have to explain it every time. 😅
My people my culture ... Love it !! 😍
You bloody Indian culture fuckers
You nailed it Peters ! Best shot.😁😁😁👍👍
0:14 - Russell, it seems to me that the Audience members were *PLANTED* for that joke, because I cannot see how 3 Indians in 2 Separate rows would have known to Wag their Finger so animately on Cue.
oh the theory guy
Its not uncommon to happen. Many shows do it.
I swear to god in the year 2010 I was enrolled at Middlesex University in London. There was a guy who was Afghani or Turkish or something whose name was genuinely "Ufuk" pronounced as "Oohfukh". In one of our classes we were to do a group assignment and the teacher who was an old Chinese man divided us into groups of 4. He was reading out the names and when he got to Ufuk he loudly started calling out "YOU FUCK, YOU FUCK WHERE IS YOU FUCK". Funniest shit ever, he did this in front of about 200 students in a lecture hall.
My dad’s neurologist in Detroit Michigan is called Dr. Ashit. There was laughter and giggling when we were scheduling his appointment and during the appt we couldn’t keep a straight face.
The very next line of that act (which they cut out ) was “What if Hardik and Sukhdeep became friends, could you imagine that ?” Lol🤣😂
3:17 i just realized if Russell would've asked Preb's brother's (instead of sister's) name and said herbal, the joke that followed would have made a lot of sense (a guy can be named Harbal/Herbal).
I absolutely LOVE an Indian accent. It is the sexiest accent in the world. 🙏💗🥰😘
Seen this video before! Russell Peters is fucking awesome!! One of my favorite comics!!
There was an Indian girl who worked at a servo near me called Amandeep.
Every time I saw her name badge I would mentally finish that with "inside me" XD
Lol!!!
LOL
I work at a fuel center. I met a young Indian driver his name was "Fukmandeep". I lost my shit after he walked off. Nice young man

Your name is part of your Success. If you had an ethnic Indian name, say *"Rasalingam Panipath"* - you would not have the Success you enjoy now. Hari Kondabolu will never be as famous as you, because, while funny, his name is a major barrier to acceptance from White folks and by extension, most other races.
'ill be black'
take the artist Anoushka SHANKAR, chances are, you've probably never heard of her. But you've Sure as HELL heard of one NORAH JONES...who has achieved phenomenal success. She is Shankar's sister... they are the daughters of the late Indian sitarist RAVI SHANKAR.
Arnold Schwarzenigger plenty of celebrities have confusing names, they've just got to work harder to make their name know unlike someone with a white name
Yes, you're right in that someone's name is only PART of their success. I can name a few indian/south Indian people who have "non-white" names who are famous like M. Night Shyamalan and Mindy Kaling, who "westernized" their name, as well as Aziz Ansari, who did not change his name at all. Their name might be a barrier at first but their talent shines through eventually and honestly, it all depends on luck when it comes to the entertainment industry.
Nikki LovesBap they've just got to work a little bit harder to make their name known, but that's only a very small part of success
I love the audience participation!
Great on the spot comedy now thats class!
As a half Ukrainian half arab my name is Arabic "Qusai" which comes from Word aqsa but in Russian it means "bite" and you're commanding someone to do it XD
Even before the British come to here Christianity flourished here, even when in Rome they are persecuting Christians my forefathers were going to the church peacefully. Yes, it's my real name.

@@sensei249 Nope, real Keralite
@@taysidevideos Peter is of Anglo Indian descent, i am not talking about you.
@@sensei249 May be, but when it's India you can't say that for surnames D'Souza, Fernando, Vivera those names etc. are Ango-Indian, but Peter, Thomas, James etc. are common in Kerala as well, which are common with Anglo-Indian
I've finished watching the video an hour back but still laughing by looking at the comments 😂

All of us have fallen short and need a savior... Trust in Christ, find true and sincere happiness in this life and dwell with Him in the next.
