I grow up in China. Got hits from my grandpa sometimes for no reason. I asked him why, His words ‘No why. Just keep you in a good discipline. Making sure you wouldn’t do bad thing.’ So I started to dodge sometimes, cuz I wasn’t do anything bad, but I was still getting hits from him. When I grow up, I joined my first Muay Thai class at Montreal, my trainer told me ‘wow, you r really good at dodging.’ ‘Yeah, well, that’s one of my surviving skills.’

The prank? Daddo was playing a videogame and just got past a hard part ... I pushed a key and sent him back.
      Edit:
And... and it wasn't an isolated event. One time I was 3 or something like that. My parents were yelling and arguing. I mocked their arguing with some gibberish "blah blah blah" and got slapped that moment.

Hi, Man. Wow, as a kid who grew up in Russia, I know something about being beaten up...not ruthlessly or on everyday basis (still, a Jewish family) but as a punishment for some misdeeds. Btw, my great grand dad was killed in Bulgaria, as a Russian soldier, during the Russia-Turkey War, fighting the Turks on the Russian side. Bulgarians have always been kind to Jews, even during the Holocaust. Thanks, friend.

My parents were usually ok if i did some accidental mess. Examples: accidently breaking a flower pot with a football; Accidentally going against something with my bike and breaking it (because i was still a bit clumbsy of age).
What i mean is, as long it was accidental, and i honestly showed regret, and i honestly was the first one apologising and trying to fix - i would be ok!
    ...but..
    ...
In case i intentionally did something bad, or disrespect, just because of evil, free willing... They would beat the hell out of me!!! Really, really hard! Believe me XD
Now, i'm kind of thankfull for those beatings i got, to be honest. 😅
