“God can cook”! I love it!! When I got married, I didn’t know how to cook. My mom was a single mom, working 45 min away. But my husband took me to his grandma’s and mom’s house for cooking lessons! I welcomed the lessons!! The results: my kids would say, “it smells like love”! Lol.

I like how you film yourself cleaning and make it look like such a beautiful and dignified activity. It's comforting to watch. My Mom always said "Don't pay attention to what a man says, pay attention to what he does." I remember one time that she forgot her own advice. My Dad said "There's nothing so alluring as a woman washing a floor" (while she was washing the floor). Well, didn't the steam shoot out of her ears! I think he meant it well, though. That seeing a woman diligently and proudly keeping her home clean and cherishing it, was a joyous, comforting, and attractive thing to watch.

(2:50) This is so on time! I love how you have a written prayer for preparing meals! Sometimes I can allow my lack of experience or example in an area to overwhelm me into not trying. However recently I was studying how Esther prepared two meals for King Xerxes before making any personal requests. I realized this is part of the “work” and gifting God has given women to influence and inspire those around them. When you said several times to just pray to God to bless your hands, I remember that Esther prayed and fasted for 3 DAYS before preparing these two feasts. Who knows what wisdom and “cooking tips” God may have revealed to her during that time in prayer!

This topic touches me deeply. One tip that I always share is study housekeeping. You will need to go back a bit. Books written in the late 1800s to the mid 60's. These books are almost like encyclopaedias! Two books I could easily recommend that continue to give me so much are the Mrs Beeton's Household Management and Delia Smith's Complete Cookery Course. Thank you once again Bindi for sharing your thoughts.....❤ And I do agree, food can help create powerful bonds and memories for a family....I have a little notebook with recipes collected over the last decade...A gift for my future daughters...Hopefully ❤

I always purchase whole chickens, chop them up, and seperate the chicken breasts for seperate meals that only require breast. I can honestly get 5 meals (one of them being soup) out of three whole chickens. Growing up a tomboy has made me incredibly resistant to fulfilling my role as a homemaker and finding comfort in my own femininity.
Many times, while watching, I might get almost angry (!) at the thought of what is expected of me. A whole "woe is me," and then you go on and just keep talking about how it helps my husband, my kids, and my community, and you are right. Then divide it up into 3 different meals. Mom and dad also had a vegetable and fruit garden. They would can/preserve/blanch the harvest and freeze. One tip is to Cooke them half way through , think about airlines food for example. I myself am a cook enthusiast humbly saying , for example I will pat dry salmon season and pan sauté or fry to 3 min each side while it still remain uncooked inside and store them , when ready the next day I will finish them in the oven (you won’t have any white protein formed around ) it will taste fresh ! Same as vegetable like broccolini carrot, slightly sauté them , cook your starch in batch, stew like beans lentils and always wonderful cooked in advance (it’s about storage) , stew of chicken or beef are also good in general ! Hope this helps ! God bless you and May the Holy Spirit give you wisdom

Spot on. One thing I learned was that I needed to make food my family wanted to eat. If I make sauerkraut and liver and make my kids eat it or make them feel bad about not eating it, or punishing them because they didn’t eat it … whatever, that defeats the purpose of serving my family. Yes they do need to try new things and healthy food needs to be available. But if you make things you know the family will not like then what’s the point? All you’ve done is added stress and hard feeling at a time that is supposed to be comforting and nourishing. 💕

I agree with all your points home cooking and preparing food from scratch is a scale and it’s actually enjoyable. Things I do when I’m tired or I know I have a busy day I’ll put things in the slow cooker and then we have a healthy meal that evening or you can make a healthy freezer meal so you just have to defrost it. But going to cook and putting the time and effort to feed your family well will create memories for years

As a mother to young kids it is hard to have the constant snacks and meals all around. Do you have tips for homeschool families? The kids eat non-stop and love to munch on veggies & healthy snacks, but the constant rotation of meals and snacks are hard some days . We try and have balanced meals with lots of protein, some carbs, fruit and vegetables. I love your channel and your gentle voice. Thank you for all you do.

I’m “old” now and I’ve lived like this for the last 42 years that I’ve been married and raised 9 children. It’s the only way to go. :) But I’m still loving your videos! I have a funny question.... what did you tuck your dress into to shorten it enough to be able to work? Your underwear? Bike shorts? I’ve never thought of doing that, but it sure works well! And I LOVE your white couch! :)

I love meal planning for the week on a weekly board in the kitchen. Typically knowing what will be cooked that week helps me buy all the ingredients once and avoid overspending. Also its such a relief to know what is on the menu and save myself from feeling anxious about what is for dinner/breakfast. I try to make sure I defrost the meat I will use the night before. However, I did hear that meal prepping veggies can cause the veggies to be less nutritious so even though it is convenient, I am sticking to chopping the day of rather than for the whole week. Thank you for the video, so motivational!

Cooking good food is easy for me because my parents excel at it and taught me. What took some adjustment after becoming a wife and mother was prepping and cooking the right portions for my family size and preserving and storing food for future use to avoid wasting and make meal prep more convenient.

I love this!! However.. I was diagnosed with adhd two years ago.. I’ve always felt so behind with executive dysfunction when it comes to home making until recently! With God, prayers, and fasting I’m learning! I’m thankful I came across your channel!
I use accommodations to help me with home making and meal prep. Like the intent app and much more!
If you ever get a chance to look into the intent app you can pick and choose or add your own recipes and it curates a grocery list for you and it can even send it to your grocery store for delivery or pick up! It’s been one of the most helpful tools. I get overwhelmed easily with tasks and figuring out ways to work with the way God made me and it’s just one of many ways I’m trying to be a good home maker. ❤️ thanks for the inspiration!

I LOVE to cook so much, but I learned how to when I got married. I picked a cookbook that I loved and went to town to make as many recipes from that cookbook in a year and because of the repetition of making recipe after recipe i understood the basics and became familiar in the kitchen and enjoy it so much. My recent venture has been sourdough bread… intimidating at first but now I’m making on the daily. Ask the Lord for wisdom, guidance, and a desire and passion to cook for your family. I like how Bindi said God is a great cook, that made me laugh with joy because, isn’t that the truth!!

I’m a grandmother now, but I completely agree with everything you’ve said. It is an act of love to your whole family to learn to cook. I didn’t know how but I quickly learned. I came from a generation that did homemade cooking. We were raised on it and that’s just how it was. The memories around the kitchen and table are unbeatable. Plus I had a China set that had all the different plates and bowls. I used them every meal and was able to teach our children at least the basic table etiquette, which is so needed these days. Our children are as comfortable with a 5 course meal as they are with a picnic!

I love the way this is approached, certainly agree with it. I'd love to learn how to really cook nicely, but I have no family of my own to do that for. It is also complicated because many 'foods' are just not real food, of course many stuff is ultraprocessed, like you mentioned, but also many 'regularly' grown vegetables and fruits, there are lots of poisons on them. Another point; you mentioned prepairing in advance; it's a different thing with meat I think (if one eats that), but with vegetables, I wouldn't chop them beforehand, because all of the vitamins are going away that way.

Def grateful I stumbled across your channel.
I just told my friend I believe it would do many women who decide to be wives to check out your videos because it's Holy Spirit led by your yielding to His wisdom.
I am engaged to be married soon.
I see myself being a homemaker for sure.
More like a "high earning housewife" lol 'cause while I have no desire at all whatsoever to work a 9 to 5 but I do plan to have my own businesses in my areas of interest accordingly to what God wills.
I currently have my own licensed dessert business.
Cooking is definitely something I've taken an interest in over these past few yrs. Making sauces from scratch etc. Whereas I don't really "like" to cook I enjoy eating good food from my labor of love knowing where all the ingredients are sourced, controlling how much salt & sugar is in my food & I enjoy when others enjoys my food, namely my fiancé.
I agree, food prep is SO key 😩
Mise en place as the French say.

Thank You so much for these videos! So refreshing, and GOD honoring. I cook almost nightly for my husband, he works so hard. Sometimes I start in the morning with meal prep because I take care of our Granddaughter, it saves me time. I enjoy cooking the evening meal for him. I know it makes all the difference. And a made bed and keep the house clean. Creating that Oasis for him to come home to. With a hug. Sometimes I message him with the Menu of what is waiting for him when he gets home. Makes him feel loved. GOD Bless you.

This is soo true! I thank the Lord for the wisdom He has given you and I thank you for sharing it. I am a full time university student home maker and I know food prepping is something I need to plan well in advance, I plan the breakfasts, the snacks, the lunches, the dinner, what we need to bring outside of the home, the water bottles, etc. But, this video has given me to tool that was missing: cutting vegetables well in advance, prepare things in advance. I was praying for more wisdom. Thank you Lord.
